Codec problem with cannon XH A1

hello Im using a cannon XH-A1 and I'm having capture problems.
I filmed in HDV but the capture wont read the camera while in HDV apple codec 1080i.
never had a problem before it keeps telling me can't initiate HDV deck. any help?
It will initiate if i use NTSC but not any HD?

I'd be thinking your camera is set to output something other the HDV 1060i if this is not working. Double check the Canon's output.
The same settings will apply to Pro as well with the same codec. Upgrading will not cure a basic configuration problem.

  • Codec problem with one gateway

I am having a very strange problem with one of my gateways. No matter how I set up my regions and device pools I continue to have all calls go through this gateway as G729. This would be fine except that I can't do conference calls because of codec mismatches.
The gateway is a PRI running H323. CM 3.2.2(c) Gateway is a 3640 running 12.2.11(t)
All regions are currently set to G711.
I read something about a command under voice-port that sets the default codec. What I don't understand is, if this is what is causing it to go to G729, why is this the only gateway that ignores the regions.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Cisco VoIP gateways support the codec negotiation feature. This feature provides the ability for a Cisco VoIP gateway to connect to other VoIP devices without necessarily knowing which codec is used for a call-setup. Also, this feature allows Cisco VoIP gateways to dynamically adjust to changes on remote devices. As long as the codec used by the remote VoIP device matches the capabilities-list of the Cisco VoIP gateway, the VoIP call is completed.
The following example shows how to configure codec negotiation:
    Cisco-router# config t
    Cisco-router(config)# voice class codec 1
!--- This sets up class 1 to be assigned to the dial peer.
    Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 1 g723r63
    Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 2 g729ar8
    Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 3 g711ulaw
    Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 4 g726r32 bytes 240
!--- These commands define the preferred codec list using 1,2,3, and 4 to set the preference.
    Cisco-router(config)#dial-peer voice 1 voip
    Cisco-router(config-dial-peer)#voice-class codec 1
    !--- This assigns voice-class codec 1 to the dial-peer
    Cisco-router(config-dial-peer)#destination-pattern 4723155

  • Problem with Cannon i9900 Printer on Mavericks

Printer stops and returns the message, "Filter failed".
The printer was working fine under 10.8 AND under 10.9 ( (mavericks) until I tried to update the Cannon i9900 printer driver!
I've reset the printer system with hope of starting fresh.  I've fixed disk permissions (which did find problems and corrected).    I've also tried restoring the Cannon i9900 driver I used in 10.8 from time machine.   I ensure the supplies where full.   I did mutliple restarts.
Nothing works, Cannon jobs stop and return the dreaded " Filter failed" message ....
What is odd, is that I can communicate with the printer and do test sheets, head cleaning, and printer utility functions.    This all runs fine and the printer ink level are good.   Leads me to beleive the printer is fine, but someting in my OS/cups is whacked for the  Cannon.  My other printer (lexmark 250dn) works fine on 10.9 and I can successfully reinstall it after a printer system reset.
I later dug into the printer update on the apple site (Yes I should have check this first), and subsequently discovered the i9900 wasn't in the supported list.   http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3669#canon-inkjet This is why I'm wondering if its a maverick driver problem.   The driver I've currently got installed is version 10.67.1.0, it looks like all supported cannon drivers are now at 10.72.1.0.
Thanks in advance for any help that can restore my printer!
    Bon

Problem solved. The Canon i9900 does indeed work again in Marvericks!
Had to remove the new apple drivers and use the older Cannon drivers.    Did the  following:
1.) Downloaded the  Snow Leopard 10.6 Canon drivers (newest on the Canon website).
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/i_series/i 9900#DriversAndSoftware
2.) Reset my printer system.   This removes most of the files in the /Library/Printers folder; however, there were still hidden files in the folder that had stuff that I think contributed to the driver "confusion". Likely why my earlier resets of the printer system were not successful.
3.) Set FInder so I could see hide files.  Opened Terminal and entered:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
    killall Finder
4.) Removed the (now unhidden) canon folder from /Library/Printers
5.) Installed new driver obtained in step 1.   In my case this installed the printer in the Printers & Scanner System Pereferences, and my printer was back up and running!
6.) Reset my finder to hide hidden files from Terminal:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
    killall Finder

  • CS6 has problems with Cannon .mxf files that CS5 plays fine

On CS6 there are occational visual glitches that resembles DV drop out. A 1 hr spanned clip has audio going out of synch, audio length not matching video lenth.
    Camera: Cannon XF100
    Footage : 720p 60fps 35mbs
    system Windows 7 Pro
    premiere CS6.01
    Core I7 930
    16 GB ram
    sysem drive: 128GB SSD
    2 X 1TB media drives
    GTX560
The same clips copied from the same flash card to a CS5 system plays without visual or audio glitches.
    Core I7960
    CS5.03
    12GB ram
    1tb media drive
    gtx480
Any clue to why CS6 is having issues with the same footage CS5 is working beautifully with?

I also use the XF100 and have just about the same system setup as you (24GB RAM, Core i7 2600).  I have not observed any video glitches, but it doesn't mean I don't have them.  I just finished my first big shoot using two XF100's and I'm going to edit in CS6, so you have me a little concerned.
Could you describe the issue more?  Does it happen at the clip breaks?  How can you tell the audio doesn't match video length?  Are they different lengths on the timeline?  It could be that it's the conformed audio file.
How are you pulling in the video?  I've found that if I allow CS6 to interpet the spanned video as a single clip, it will conform the audio and it takes forever.  I have found it much more productive to just copy the individual MXF files to my system, and only the MXF files.  Then import them as assets and PPr will not conform the audio, it will just create PEK files for the audio waveforms.  I then select all the separate ~2GB clips and drag them to the timeline and they play fine.  For the multicam, I'll just bring in the first MXF file from each camera, sync them by timecode, then bring in the rest of camera "A" and the rest of camera "B".  Again, I haven't observed any issues, but it doesn't mean there aren't any.

  • Audio-Problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 by using long Clips in AVC-Intra Codec (4Gb Border)

    Hello
We own a Panasonic camera (AJ-PX5000G) and we film in 1080p50 with the AVC-Intra100 Codec. When importing longer clips in Premiere Pro, the video is fully loaded, but the waveform of the sound ends at the Time Code 00:02:28:35.
Sometimes the sound could be played after this Timecode but otherwise there is no audio. Even if we use the same clip several times we see that it works sometimes and sometimes not. It looks random.
We also tried to import the Clips with Adobe Prelude directly from the P2-Card but there are the same problems.
The Clips in 1080p50 AVC-Intra100 have a bitrate of 227Mbps. After 2 Minutes and 28 Seconds 4Gb are written on the P2-Card and the Camera starts a new picture file and 4 sound files..
It looks like Adobe Premiere Pro has problems with the correct relation of the files that all get together to one clip.
Is there anybody who can confirm this problem? Can anybody help me with this Premiere Problem?

  • Problem with QT 7.1.5 and Sorensen codec?

Has anyone noticed a compatibility problem with Sorensen video 3 codec and Quicktime 7.1.5? This problem did not seem to exist in prior versions (hence have been asking how to reinstall previous version but seems impossible). Some of the earlier postings discuss software that may be designed with Sorensen codec... these may be the ones not functioning properly now (video no longer works). Does this sounds plausible?
    Mac Mac OS X (10.4.8)
    Mac Mac OS X (10.4.8)
    Mac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

That may be true, Jack, but Edmund said that the movie played in QuickTime Player. So his problem is most likely not a bug in QuickTime, though I can't say for certain.
And as I said above, I have no problem playing Sorenson-encoded content on my Intel-based Mac with QuickTime 7.1.5, so more details about your content and setup (including any third-party codecs you may have installed) so that people can determine what the difference might be between the content that plays and the content that does not, or what's different in the systems, would be helpful, I'm sure.

  • Final Cut Pro 6.0.3 Problem with Photo JPG Codec ?

    Hi everyone...
I have been working with music videos for several years using FCP 5.x and photo-jpeg codec, everything works fine. As time going by now I have updated my FCP using 6.0.3 with hopes to get better features. But unfortunately FCP 6 has problem with photo-jpeg codec. The problem is when I load a photo-jpeg video, the gamma will changes every time the playback head is start or stop. And I can't using video transition (standard cross-dissolve) anymore because the video gamma also change at the in transition and out transition. It also appear in my video monitor and output file ! I have searching all day to find out what is exactly the problem, but never get the solution. Should i come back to FCP 5.x ? Is it a BUGS or what ? What happen with Apple, why they let this happened ?
For information the video is in SD PAL & captured using Blackmagic Decklink card.
    Please help,...Thanks.

    Welcome to the discussions...
I believe this has to do with using YUV or RGB as the rendering method. RT is always RGB, but try changing the setting for your timeline to whatever it is not now...

  • Sigmatel 9205 - Problems with audio codec in Windows XP

Does anyone have a working solution to using IDT Sigmatel STAC 9205 Audio Codec in Windows XP.  I have Dell Lat. D531, D630, D830 and XPS M1330 (the D531 and XPS came with VISTA pre-installed - we don't support, so I formatted and installed Windows XP).  The problem is that I cannot, for the life of me, get the Sigmatel driver to install.  Even on the machines that came with Windows XP (we routinely format the Dell OEM OS and replace with our volume license XP OS) the driver won't install.  I even repaired the OS installation with the OEM (Dell) version and still the driver will. not. install.....  This is a very recent problem and I have at least 15 laptops that I can't get the integrated sound card to work (when I go to install the driver the message is basically the component you are trying to install is not present on this system).  I have been 'working' with Dell Tech Support (Gold and otherwise) to no avail.  One tech sent a replacement hard drive imaged with a working driver -- however, she sent a VISTA imaged hard drive...I explained that we don't support VISTA prior to her sending the drive.  One tech is having the motherboard replaced (today).  I'll see how that goes.  This driver is the kiss of death unless dell with supply a pc card as a replacement, I have tried everything I know to do and Dell Tech support knows to do.  ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Tony, some posters have reported that the XP drivers for the Vostro 1500 will work for the M1330.
    Vostro 1500 XP downloads
However before installing any Sigmatel driver after an OS installation you should follow this order of driver installation:
    a. Install Dell Notebook System Software R154270 (click the + sign next to System Utilities). Restart.
    b. Next install the Intel Mobile Chipset driver 153997 (click the + sign next to Chipset). Restart.
    c. Finally re-install the Sigmatel audio driver R158235 (click the + sign next to Audio).
Some v1500 users have reported that they had to "uninstall an unknown PCI device in Device manager first , then install the driver normally".
Rarely there will still be a problem with the installation at this point (in XP). In those cases follow this tip from forum member rpilT2005: check in the Device Manager for a "PCI Device" with a yellow question mark next to it, under the "System Devices" grouping. Hit 'update driver' on that one, and it should find the driver.
A previous poster was able to get his audio working by following the above instructions more or less He said that after installing the Chipset driver he next uninstalled the unknown PCI device. He let Windows look for a new driver but he said he had to point it to the folder with the driver. Then he wrote, "Xp still said that an error occurred and the device may not work properly, but it did work fine and I also don't have a yellow question mark..." I know this is confusing.

  • Problems with Codec in Premiere Pro 5.5

    Hi All.
I've been having problems with Premiere Pro 5.5 and in partucular the 'Intel IYUV Codec'.
I originally created a project in PP version 5. Then converted it to 5.5. All was working well until one day I went into work in it and it would not work. A message came up "THis project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset or codec could be associated with this sequence type"
I found some posts in this forum that suggested fixing some of the offending sequences, which I did and it seemed to work fine. This involved changing the sequences preview to use the DV 24p Advanced codec instead of the default Intel IYUV Codec.
However, the program seems to default back to the IYUV codec when I close the program down. Each time I have to go back into Version 5 and manually change the codecs back to DV 24p Advanced.
However, what confuses me is that in earlier versions of my project that do open in 5.5, I notice that they are still using the IYUV codec. WHich I thought was the offending item in loading up in 5.5.
I would continue to just edit in version 5, but we have some Red Epic footage that we need to add in and then will be shooting some further footage on the Epic.
Needless to say I'm a bit confused. So if anyone has some ideas or instruction that could help me get this sorted so I can edit my project in 5.5 I would be so grateful.
    regards
    Darran

    Hi Jim.
I had created a custom preset using the Desktop, and then for the codec I had changed it to Microsoft AVI and then for the codec DV 24P Advanced.
However I may have solved my own problem with regards to it reverting back to the Intel codec. I changed the amount of Auto Saves, (which was only set at 5, to 10) So I'm figuring it was not letting me save the sequence presets when it did an austo save. Seems to work fine now. I also noticed that in 5.5 there is no Intel IYUV codec, which would explain why it cannot open the sequences. So I'm hoping it's all good now. thanks.
