Coexistence of iAS 6.0 and iAS 6.5

Can someone tell me if i can install iAS 6.5 in a Solaris machine without uninstalling iAS 6.0? If i try to do it, could they both live and work independently without problems?
Thank you

This should work but its not recommended on a production system. But to test out your application it should work fine. Just choose different directories and install individual ldaps.

  • EAP-TLS Win2003 CA and IAS...not checking CRL?

    Hi
I've got EAP-TLS setup and working using Win2003 CA and IAS as the RADIUS backend. I've issued certs to my wireless users, and now I want to revoke a certificate, so in the CA, I revoke the cert and then under Revoked Certs I click on publish...yet the user can still authenticate and communicate. How can I configure the IAS to check the CRL? Thanks

  • How to install ias 1.0 and 8.1.6.1 on a single red hat 6.1 machine

How to install ias 1.0 and 8.1.6.1 on a single red hat 6.1 machine.
i am expecting a lot of problems during the ias installation, the db is working fine. is posible to install both products over the same machine?

You should be able to iAs and the DB on the same machine but you will need to do the following:
    1. Create a new ORACLE_HOME for iAS (unsetenv ORACLE_HOME and setenv ORACLE_HOME to new home)
    2. Shutdown the DB in the existing Oracle home and change the corresponding listener port in listener.ora to a port other than the typical default (1521)
    3. Install iAS in the new Oracle home
    4. Make sure none of the listeners in the listener.ora under the new Oracle home are listening on the same port as that which you set for the existing DB listener.
In general it is advisable to install iAS EE on a different machine than the origin database to realize the full benefits of iCache (EE)

  • PEAP and IAS

    Hey everyone,
I have done a fair bit of reading into PEAP, IAS, 802.11x and so on.
This is the part I am confused with - I wish to have multiple VLAN's one for each of year groups. Can I force VLAN assignments using IAS / PEAP authentication using the same SSID? Or do I need one SSID per VLAN?
Last question - For each switchport an AP's connect to does the port needs to be configured as trunk?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Jdev3.2 and ias: not compatible?

Jdev3.2 support servlet2.2 api.and ias use apache jserver, which only support servlet 2.0.So our application can't run on ias when
we update from jdev3.1 to jdev3.2 .But it was well on jdev3.2.
for example ,with jdev3.2 ,we use session.putValue and getValue to record something, but the session is lost on ias.But it was fine with jdev3.1. So we use Servlet 2.2 api:session.setAttrubute, but it can't run on ias.
    How to slove it? urgent
    regards

We have tried the ias9i for nt.And the problem is still there:sessionsetAttribute can not run.
And we know that ias9i still use the jserver ,which just support servlet 2.0 and apache team said they would not update it.
    What's the problem?
I am using the apache+tomcat. And it is fine.

  • JSP;BC4J;Deploy; Oracle 8i httpd and iAS

Can anybody tell me the difference between the HTTP server that comes with Oracle 8.1.7 and iAs.
I have deployed my application to Oracle 8.1.7's HTTP web server without any problems. Is there any reason to go to iAs.
The HTTP server bundled with Oracle 8.1.7 is also Apache webserver and hence I do not understand what the difference would be with iAs.

OK. I know it's bad form to reply to your own messages...
I've found and executed the SQL script but the SELECT statement returns no rows.
I'm still getting ORA-29554 for a number of classes. A java_pool_size of 120Mb has made no difference. Can anyone suggest any other settings that might be causing the problem.
Maybe somebody who has successfully deployed BC4J to 8i could post/email me a spool of "show parameters" from server manager....?
    Thanks,

  • Jclient and ias

I made a local jclient application with bc4j (no ejb) which works fine, now I want to deploy the bc4j (ejb) things to ias. this works too
but now every time i try to compile the jclient project, jdeveloper makes some jar files of the bc4j components (this takes some minutes). Is this necessary?
By the making of the ias deployment , jdev also make a application module client file ( i have some client methods). If i try to use this client file in my jclient file it gives an exception. How do i implement this client methods in my jclient project.
the behavior of the jclient appl. is totally different in local mode and ias mode. I am getting errors like record modified by other user. Is there a whitepaper on this topic.
Do i need an ias for jclient apps or can I run it on a several machine without the need of an ias/oc4j like the way you run it inside jdeveloper.

The common profile is used to generated the jar containing the files required by the client. Every time you compile the client project this jar is regenerated. As an alternative you can manage this dependency yourself:
In the client project settings dialog uncheck the common profile dependency. Instead add a new library to the client project which points to the jar produced by the common profile.

implement this client methods in my jclient project. The client file is a proxy that implements the interface containing the exported appmodule methods. The class in internally instantiated by the framework. You should be able to call yor methods by casting the apmodule reference to the custom appmodule interface. See the OnlineOrders\BatchClient sample.

You don't need to deploy the ejb (actually the .ear file containing the ejb) to an ias instance. You can either use the embedded oc4j instance or the external standalone instance. Make sure to use the right config in the JClient application. I don't have the help system handy but I believe these topics are covered in the doc.

  • EAP with Windows 2000 client and IAS server

Several messages on this site point to peole using EAP on a Windows 2000 client and authenticating against an IAS server. I am running an Aironet 350 AP and trying to setup my Windows 2000 clients to use EAP only and authenticate against a Windows 2000 AD forest via IAS. The access point and client are on the latest firmware and drivers (12.0 for AP). I have two basic questions.
    1. It is my understanding that by enabling Network-EAP as the only authenticaiton type that users will authenticate and then dynamic WEP keys will be used, greatly reducing the risks of compromised WEP keys while at the same time keeping the data encrypted.
    2. Does anyone have a quick HOW-TO or point-by-point list of how to configure the Windows 2000 client to authentication using the Network-EAP method? I am currently running into a situation where no matter what I configure on the client, the IAS server reports and error with "Reason: The authentication type is not supported on this system." I also noticed that the "Authentication-Type" and "EAP-Type" fields shown in the IAS messages in the Windows 2000 Event Viewer log have the value "<undetermined>". Has anyone else run into this?

I'm having a similar problem. I'm trying to do PEAP and it appears that IAS is not handling the request properly. It keeps trying to log the user PEAP-##### in instead of setting up the TLS and then asking for Username, Pass, Domain. The IAS error message I'm getting is:
    User PEAP-00097CFCD901 was denied access.
    Fully-Qualified-User-Name = APPLY\PEAP-00097CFCD901

  • OiD, DB and iAS on the same box

    Hello world!
Did anybody installed OiD DB and iAS on the same box and if yes
    does it working & ? :-)

    Hello Dmirty:
Yes, you can install them on the same box. Here is how I do it:
    1. Install OID with its database.
    2. Resize the OID database user and system tablespaces according
to the installation instructions in the 9iAS Portal install
    guide.
    3. Install Portal in a seperate Oracle Home on the same box.
When you install 9iAS version 1.0.2.2, Portal needs a database
but the database it will use cannot reside in the same Home.
Since you are installing OID, and OID installs a database it is
more space efficient to use the same Oracle Home you use for OID
as you use for Portal. Again, install Portal in a seperate Home
from OID but point Portal to the database in the OID instance
    durring installation.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem with SSL and IAS 9.0.4.3.0

    Hi,
I want to use SSL for my own webservice, but when I enabled SSL for my AS then I can't use my Forms-Applikation.
I use a new installed Applikation Server Version 9.0.4.3.0 (Forms/Reports) on SLES 9 and the webservice is in a new OC4J-Container.
    Without SSL is everything fine.
But when I made the changes to use SSL then I can use my Webservice with or without SSL, but I can't start the Test-Form-Mask (test.fmx) from the AS.
In the Java-Console I see the following:
    oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: 500

I can't find any mistakes in my configuration. I have tested it with the SUN-Java Plug-In and with the JIinitator, but is the same result.
Have someone a hint for me or better idea to use SSL with a webservice?
    Thanks in advance.
    Knut

I configured the HTTP-Server and the OC4J-Containers for Forms and my webservice for SSL.
But for Forms I don't need SSL, only for the webservices.
In the meantime I tested SSL with IAS 10.1.2.0.2 and there is the same problem.
I think the last 3 messages come from Web Cache, because everytime when I try to test whether the Web Cache is working these messages shown in the error log from Apache.
Sometimes are the following messages in the error log of the Apache:
