Coherence MasterMemberSet autoIncrement after updating a running EAR file
Hi All,
I have a EAR application file, which uses coherence 3.6.0.4.
We have a requirement to deploy a new version of application, with out down time and hence "update" feature of EAR deployment.
When we deploy the new application by selecting the newer version, application gets deployed, but it also adds the existing nodes M1 and M2 again to the MasterMemberSet with port incremented.

After Update, Mac Runs 5 x SLOWER!
My G5 uses all original software and has never been online.
I downloaded these files on my laptop and installed them on my G5 at home:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1045.html
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1045combo.html
Now, instead of 30 seconds to boot up, it takes 3 minutes.
Applications load time increased.
Computer makes clicking noises.
I feel as if I am being scammed into playing the upgrade game. How to uninstall the upates? The silence is deafening.
Don't tell me there is no way to uninstall it...
There's no way to uninstall it. If you want it back to the way it was before, you'll need to boot from the Restore discs that came with the computer and do an Archive and Install. That will at least keep your non-system files intact.
FWIW, I've never had a problem with any of the system updates on my G5 or my PowerBook. In any event, before doing a system update, you should check your startup disc for problems with either Disk Utility or something like DiskWarrior. Then, repair permissions on that drive. Next, install the updates. After the reboot, repair permissions again.
Of the two files you mentioned in your original post, the combo updater is generally the better one to use, as it contains all the changed files from 10.4.0 to 10.4.5, so there's theoretically less of a chance that some file won't get updated correctly. Anyway, there's no need to install both of those files. And, it's not uncommon for the first boot after the install to take several minutes. Future reboots will generally be much shorter. -
My iPod has been working well for a while other than the battery draining very quickly. But just today I updated to iOS 6.1.3 and all of a sudden iMessage won't deliver the messages and my push notifications aren't showing up! I don't know what is making this happen, but this along with the battery issue is driving me crazy!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Try turning off the following to conserve battery:
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Push>OFF
Settings>Notifications>Mail>Gmail>Notification Center>OFF
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Off -
Photoshop CS 5 crashes after updating and then using File -- Automate -- Batch
I am running Photoshop CS5 (build 12.0.4 x32) on my XP 32-bit machine and have done so without major problems until about a week ago.
Then all of a sudden when accessing File --> Automate --> Batch the program crashes and I have to force it shutting down manually after which I can restart Photoshop. When trying to access the batch command hereafter the same crash reappears rendering batch commands useless.
I thought about posting here but then decided to reinstall Photoshop again. This enables the fully working software including batch commands once again. However after a short while the update software asks to download and install some patches for all programs. After doing so the same problem happens again in regards to the batch command. Photoshop crashes when accessing it and won't work at all.
I now repeated this procedure twice and have no idea what to do about it.
Is there anybody that has had this experience or knows about a solution?
Do I have to contact Adobe with an error report?
Any help and comment is welcome and mostly appreciated.Chris Cox wrote:
Yes, a change in the Adobe update made the existing scanner bug show up more frequently. No, that does not make your statement correct. The bug exists in the scanner driver, and existed before the Adobe update.
The Adobe update is not the cause of the bug, it just made some unrelated change that made the bug appear more frequently. That could be something as simple as putting different values in different locations of memory. We don't know. Only the authors of the scanner driver can know for sure why it is crashing more often now.
Photoshop supports the TWAIN standard, but cannot be responsible for the bugs in the third party drivers that attempt to implement that standard.
The high frequency of bugs in TWAIN drivers is what made us move the TWAIN plugin to "optional" status in the first place -- because too many people were crashing, had a hard time figuring out the cause, and blamed Adobe for something completely beyond our control.
And we already do inform scanner vendors about all the bugs we find in their drivers. But we cannot force them to fix their bugs, nor can we know the nature of all of their bugs to code around them.
I understand that you're angry. But please stop trying to blame an innocent bystander.
Adobe cannot do anything to fix the bugs in your scanner driver. Only the authors of your scanner driver can fix the bugs in your scanner driver.
Until they provide an update to fix the bugs in the driver, your choices are to keep crashing, or not use that buggy scanner driver.
I am going to make this short.
It depends on how you look at it. From your angle, Adobe did their's and the scanner companies are to blame for their buggy software. What you are saying here would be - if compared - resemble a situation where you would go to a car dealer, buy a car, then drive away just to find that the trailer tow hitch you attached your old trailer to would keep falling off all the time. When confronting the dealer about the issue he would reply to you that you have to talk to the manufacturer of the trailer because the problem is their responsibility. How would you as a client react...?
Maybe it is true that the driver software is buggy. However it still did work though under other conditions before this update. That means that you updated something that made these things appear frequently. Maybe you don't know and only they do. Fair enough. But us customers don't have to work these problems out or live with them nor do we have to use our time on posting and fixing companies' errors and mistakes. That's what we pay you for. We only need to use this application hassle free on the spot. Maybe you should start crash testing in an controlled environment before you apply these updates and then post them. Or make a deal with those companies to do so for you. Maybe they will then ignore you or won't tell you about possible bugs to hike their own skin. Fair enough as well. Create some sort of program, a label or whatever that you apply and hand out only to those companies that are "certified by and working with Adobe software" and that they can put on their products or you on your very own Adobe website for all us customers to see and to use as a type of guidance in order to have working hardware and applications and avoid these errors.

After Update 2006-001 no file or printer sharing?
After installing Security Update 2006-001 Mac OS X 10.4.5 & iTunes 6.0.4, I'm having an issue. iTunes is shared over my network but I'm not showing anything in Finder>Network.
Most importantly, file and printer sharing are not working. My G5 doesn't recognize my PB and vice versa. Sharing preferences are intact. I'm not having other problems listed in discussions...After installing the 2006-001 security update and re-booting, I have the exact same issue. My colleagues at work can no longer see me on the network, and I can no longer print on the network printer, nor can I even turn on personal file sharing! What more?... my iSync conduit doesn't work.
My internet connection is fine.
Any help would be appreciated! -
After update to cs3, video files aren't recognized
I created a project in cs3. Adobe update manager told me I had an update, so I saved my project, exited cs3, installed the updates, restarted my pc (win xp pro 32 bit) and when I loaded the project, the video files are all shown as off line. When I tried to re-link the video files, adobe gave a message that the video file was corrupt (it is not) or the file type is not supported. How can it be supported in cs3 BEFORE the update and not supported AFTER the update????? Is there a fix? I DO NOT want to recreate this project and I'm limited as the video files are what they are, I can't reshoot them! HELP!!
Bob: Please forgive my ignorance. I did not find a product forum for
Premiere, only, and since Premiere is part of the suite, I assumed I was in
the right place. Please guide me to the Adobe Premiere CS3 product forum and
I will gladly repost. Thank you.

After updating to Mavericks my files aren't visible?
After I updated to Mavericks, all my documents/downloads are missing. It's not because it created a new user or anything... When I search in spotlight, I'm able to see them and it says they're in documents, but I don't see anything (even when I go in through Users). They show up in the all my files area, but nothing in the folders. Are they hidden? How do I fix this?
Hey there, I was experiencing the same problem. I did found a work around for it.
What i did:
1. open the documents folder
2. change the way the items is being shown (grid, column, etc) from the task bar.
Then the files magically appeared again. I hope the same way works for you too. this problem nearly gave me a heart attack. -
Updating a running JAR file without using JDK
Hi guys, I have been stuck on this problem for days. I have a program that allows the user to log in and encrypt/decrypt files. This program must be stored on the removable drive and it should work on any operating system without requiring any installation of files. In order to store their login data, I wrote it to a shadow.txt file. My idea was to pack this shadow file into the JAR file so as not to create unnecessary files. I understand that in order to update JAR files, all I need to do is to do
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("jar uf login.jar shadow.txt");However, here's the problem. I cannot assume that every user PC has JDK installed. As JRE doesn't have jar.exe, that command won't work anymore. Furthermore, the JAR is currently in use. So even if the user has JDK, windows will never allow this command to go through. Anyone has any ideas?I had similar requirement, except that, i used a war file.
Had a client.war file in JBoss deploy directory, and i needed to update client.jnlp file present in it.
But as jar.exe comes only with jdk, could not use jar -uf command.
But not sure if it works with other application server too,
in jboss we can explode the war file, meaning we can create a directory "client.war" in deploy directory and extract your client.war contents to it. Now when server starts, it considers the extracted directory as web archive application.
This extraction can be done with out using jar.exe. can be done using jarinputstream aswell.
Once the contents are extracted , the files in it can be modified with out jar.exe.
For my case it worked as my client.war file is not signed, although the resources inside are signed. -
I can't synch my iPod classic. "A duplicate file name was specified." I tried on two different computers on which it had previously worked fine.
Try deleting the iPod Photo Cache from the nominated folder that you have set up to sync photos to the devices.
See iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder for more info.

IPod Not Recognized by PC After Update 2006-03-23
This is so frustrating- I was having sync lapses with iTunes, and the PC would "freeze" with the iPod connected to it, before Updater 2006-03-23 was run. After Updater was run, now the PC does not recognize the iPod at all. In fact, Updater 2006-03-23 does not even recognize the iPod. (It always asks to connect my iPod or says "Cannot mount iPod.") Assistance with this would be appreciated.
iPod Video 30GB Windows XPHi Todd,
Welcome to Apple Discussions
You may want to look at Knowledge Base Document #61711 on iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes on Windows and Knowledge Base Document #93499 on Windows confuses iPod with network drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear.

Chris.Hello Martin Gerritsen,
This is Arti from the PM team.
It seems to me that the brms facade has not yet started in your application server. You can check whether it has started or not by doing the following -
You need to access the JavaEE Applications running on your AS. To do this -
1. Open the nwa portal
2. Navigate to Operations Management > Systems > Start & Stop > Java EE Applications
3. Search for the brms related applications available on the server.
In case the applications have not yet been started, please try to manually start them. If you still have problem in starting the BRMS facade please contact me.
I will send across to you a fresh set of SCAs which you can deploy into your server to resolve this issue.

After trying to run the iTunes automatic update, I got this box on my pc "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi" in the box below.. I ran a search for the file, and entered that into the box, to no avail. Then I launched iTunes and clicked on 'check for updates', and was told I had the latest version 11.0.1 I think it is. So, any clue on what to do? Thanks for any and all help.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
