Cold call from BT Technical Help
I have just had a call from India saying they represent BT Broadband Technical Help and that my system was slow because of virus infection and that they could help speed up my machine. I said that I would need proof that they were who they said they were and they said to contact 019086 7190 which was the Technical Dept and would vouch for them.
I am not letting anyone get free access to my machine unless I know who it is. Has anyone else been approached? Is this the scam I have read about?

As mentioned, this is a ploy to extract data from your machine. These scam artists typically request users to download TeamViewer (or use it) or a similar program so that they can remotely access your computer. PC based of course. They then either load a supposed "anti-virus" program which effectively looks at the machine for credit card and all sorts of other personal data, or just do it manually.
The number you've been given (though the one quoted looks to be invalid) is almost certainly their own mate who will do the confirmation, or just a number with an answer message, or anyone! By you trying to confirm the call they will probably just go away and call the next unfortunate person.
As an aside, TeamViewer is actually very handy, I've used it for friends/relatives.

Phone call from windows technical support
I got a call today from someone saying they were from windows support and my computer had been sending error notifications. He wanted to lead me through a process to delete malware and viruses that had been attacking my computer. I didn't do it. Is this legitamate? Does support call when they get those notifications. My computer is out of warranty.

It has been a while since I last popped in here but after the phone call I just had from BT I thought it only right to warn people of the utter rubbish being spouted by the people cold calling from 08009234349.
So Infinity has very recently been activated in my area and I am a happyish BT customer so I am not angry by someone phoning from BT to let me know that I can now get faster internet. Now I am not an idiot and I know what is what when it comes to computers and a home network I was also sat at my desk and opened up the BT sales page when the guy announced that he was from BT.
He went into the usual sales pitch and asked all the usual questions about my internet usage and all that and I asked him to cut to the chase and give me a price. So he says as a 1 off deal I could have infinty option 2 for £26 with no activation fee. He then asked what hub I have and after I replied that I have a home hub 3 he said that was great because I would not need to buy the home hub 3 or 4.
The standard deal fo infinty option 2 is for £26 you get
Option 2 infinity
No activation fee.
BT home hub 4
plus much more
and this guys is saying it is a 1 time deal and I wont have to pay for a hub or activation. Sorry BT but if you have to use these sort of tactics to get customers to sign up there and then it is a disgrace and I wonder how many unknowing customers you have conned into signing like that and yes I really do mean conned as it is made to sound like if you don't sign now it will be more expensive.Well they had all of my information available to BT including my broadband usage so BT must have given a third party access to my info which I have never agreed too and I am on the list to prevent cold callers but again I guess that does not apply to BT.
Which ever way you look at it BT have lied and broken the trust between a customer and a service provider and I am certain it is not a isolated incident.
I have been a BT customer for over 10 years and have resisted the temptation to move to cable as they very poor customer service. I have been waiting for infinty and I was on the verge of ordering it but this has cast a shadow over that as now it looks like BT customer service is going the way of cable. I guess that the only viable options left are to either buy out the last few months of my contract or wait until the end of my contract and get fibre from Sky. Sad really because like I said at the start of this thread that I was a happy BT customer. -
How to log in with my old Apple account? I forgot my pass and I did change my apple ID before canceling first?? Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -
I have imported contacts from Outlook to Mail and they have synced via iCloud to my iPhone 3GS. I can't get my iPhone to make a call using these contacts (it tries but then says call ended) but if I dial the number of any of the contacts on the keypad, the call DOES work! Help me please - is there something I need to do to the contacts because tehy came from Outlook? Thanks

Ok so I've done what you said and this is what it's come back ....
I don't know that these are the errors , but they're the things which don't look right ...
Throughout the shut down there is a recurring line ;
It says ;
Com.apple.launchd 1 0x100600e70.anonymous.unmount 301 PID still valid
Then there are 2 more which I think are related ;
Com.apple.securityd 29 PID job has I overstayed its welcome , forcing removal.
Then the same with fseventd 48 and diskarbitrationd 13
Oh and on Launchd1 : System : stray anonymous job at shut down : PID 301 PPID13 PGID 13 unmount...
Then the last process says "about to call: reboot (RB_AUTOBOOT).
Continuing...
And stops ...

Actually want to know the report's setting when calling from the from in a browser(environment variables,virtual paths etc.).
My database is installed in drive E:\8idb_home\ and 9iAS is on
G:\9iAS_home\.My systems .fmx & .rep files are in "iforms" and "ireports" folder respectively.

Yes when i changed my call of run_product by excluding the path i have specified when calling from form it then makes a result.
Also specified the entry of your reports .rep files by giving path in reports60_path registery variable as,
Run regedit-->Hkey_Local_Machine-->Software-->Oracle here give the full path of your .rep files as an first entry in reports60_path variable.And finally not mention the path when calling reports from form as,
Run_Product(reports,'xglrxx13.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);<--- Correct way.
Run_Product(reports,'..\iReports\xglrxx13.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);<--- Wrong way.

Calling a standard search help from MS Office
One of the companies I work for has integration with Microsoft Office so users can create SAP DMS (document management system for those who aren't familiar with it) entries directly from e.g. Microsoft Word. The integration solution is a custom .Net application.
In addition to the obvious integration to create the DMS info record and assign the document as an original the integration solution lets the user provide classification data. Some changes are now being planned, and one of them is challenging as a new characteristic (for the classification) will be used to store an organization unit. This is straightforward when the user is in the SAP GUI, as the standard search help can easily be displayed from custom code.
Being a technology optimist I was hoping that with the new fancy technologies SAP would have provided a way to use .NET integration to display a standard search help from the MS Office integration dialogue - but so far I have not been able to find any information supporting this hope. Luckily I am not the developer working with the integration dialogue, but unless the mentioned possibility exists it looks like we have to resort to passing all organization units to the interface so a hierarchy can be constructed and displayed to the user for selection.
Another alternative (I think) is to recreate the dialogue as a web dynpro screen, which will give us all the advantages of operating "inside" SAP. However, I am not sure if this is possible either. Can a web dynpro screen be called from an MS Office application (.Net), and can that web dynpro screen return values to the (external) calling application? In my simple view of the world this should be doable, if not otherwise it should at least be possibly by wrapping the screen in a function module that is exposed so the .Net application can call it - either by RFC or as a web service.
Microsoft Office version is 2003.
SAP release is ECC 6.0 (Netweaver 7.0).

HariharanIf you actually need a portal service though, this will not work. However, you could have the portal service return a Document object, which is basically the text of the HTML file you want to display. Then, when calling the portal service, you can simply output the text to the IPortalComponentResponse object

Handoff is turned off on both phones and both phones only have their own number checked under send and receive from. Please help.
This is part of Continuity. If both devices share the same Apple ID and are on the same Wi-Fi network, this will happen. To fix, go to Settings>FaceTime>iPhone cellular calls, OFF.

How can I call a specific search help from and still get all the tabs

I use F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST to display a specific search help from my program. This search help is included in a collective search help, but only the one specified search help is displayed.
Is it possible to call the collective search help and display one specific search help ?
Example: in CRM i have a collective search help BUPA. When F4 is issued from a customer field the search help "Search customer" should be displayed, and not the last search help which was activated - i.e.. "Search employee".
