Cold Fusion 5 Support?

Hello
Got some applications which are running under Cold Fusion 5
Server. Can someone tell me if Adobe still supports this versions
(patches, hotfixes etc.) or is it out of lifetime cycle? I didn't
find something on adobe.com about this...
thanks for your answers

Hello,
It is only supported for Gold Support customers. For any
regular calls, Bronze and Silver Support plans we only provide
support for CFMX versions (6.0, 6.1, 7, and 7.0.1). So 5.0 is out
of lifetime cycle.

    Hello,
How come the technology center area of OTN does not include a Cold Fusion support section?
    Thank you.

is coldfusion mx 7 supports websphere 6.0.1?
i have performed all the steps regarding deploying coldfusion

  • We need cold fusion support and have cold fusion 9 owned by Adobe.

    How do we get support?

Depends on what type of support you are looking for. Many specific questions can be asked here on these forums, you just need to be specific. For licensing and installation help, there are phone numbers in the product support pages within the www.adobe.com site. Phone support will most likely cost you some money whereas forum posts are free -- but like I said, be specific if asking here.

  • Cold fusion hosts

    Hi
I know that website hosts that support coldfusion are usually
quite expensive. I have found one called 'godaddy' which provides
coldfusion support for around $6 per month (basic package is $3.99,
with cold fusion support $1.99 extra). Does anyone have any
experience with them? is it a little too cheap to be true??

Stay away from GoDaddy. Everyone I've heard that uses them
has had problems with CF. It's an old version also. I have a
    list
of hosts and what they offer at
    http:///www.rgreathosts.com
    Also, I use
    http://www.gearhost.com which
    has very reasonably
priced CF and it's up to date.

  • Need to dial a phone number from Cold Fusion

My boss asked me if there was any way that a phone number
could be dialed from Cold Fusion. We have a website where at some
point we want to just click a button and dial that phone number. My
guess is that the conversation will then be carried through the
computer's microphone and speakers and using the computer's modem.
Let me know if there is a way, or what would be the easiest
way to accomplish this, even if it has to be using VOIP, since
that's an option for this project.
    Thanks!

Is this an internal site or an public-facing site? If you are
talking about using this tool in your intranet and you have a
modern phone system in place, there may be an API to interfacing
with your phone system. We use a TAPI interface to create a phone
dialer so our callcenter agents can dial a phone number on their
phone just by clicking on a link. I'm pretty sure there are a bunch
of freeware/shareware TAPI COM objects you can use floating around
the interwebs (If your phone system supports TAPI).
If you are talking about a public-facing website, then I'm
afraid I can't offer much advice other than to check out the Java
Communications lead that Ted gave you.

  • Cold Fusion in a generic thread pool and enabling JAVA don't mix

I've got Cold Fusion MX installed on a server running Sun One 6.1. I ran into a problem trying to enable JAVA (for servlet support) which I had previous disabled because I didn't use it.
Well, when I went to enable JAVA on the server last week, the service wouldn't restart and the error logs gave me no indication of the problem.
Through a tedious trial-and-error process I've found that having Cold Fusion running under a generic thread pool while trying to have JAVA (the j2ee plugin) running under Sun One simply doesn't work (for whatever reason).
Once I killed the pool, everything runs fine.
Does anyone happen to know why this is? I keep CFMX under its own thread pool because there are certain elements to CFMX that aren't wholly stable and can result in CFMX crashing. If it crashes, the process keeps accepting requests, but never processes them. I'd like to keep the native thread pool free to keep accepting non-CFMX requests even when CFMX crashes.
Thus the separate thread pool for CFMX.
But now I can't run CFMX in a separate thread pool with JAVA enabled.
Anyone have any insights into why this is?
    Thanks

Two things. Firstly, it's better to use     private static final Object classLock = new Object();because that saves you worrying about whether any other code synchronises on it. Secondly, if you do decide to go for the delegation route then java.lang.reflect.Proxy may be a good way forward.

  • How to convert/download videos embedded with cold fusion?

Does anyone know of a free video conversion software that will convert and download online videos embedded with cold fusion ("cfmid=?") format/extension?  I tried a few online sites and they do not support that format yet.   Please help.  Thank you so much!
    Judy

Actually COLD FUSION was a hoax a few years ago. COLDFUSION is the app.
If you need content from a web site, talk to the developer.
fwiw - Since ColdFusion is an Adobe app, you should try asking your question on that forum. This one is here to primarily support Shake.
    Have fun.

  • Xp pro config question with cold fusion(newbie)

    Hello,
I'm a beginner and I want to learn studio mx 2004.In trying
to learn Macromedia MX for windows ,I've gone thru the installation
process in the manual for installing Cold Fusion for the server
side of things. My question is, I'm not sure if IIS is mnadatory in
order to use cold fusion. Is it a case of using one or the other or
is the IIS service required to run Cold Fusion? Also im using cold
fusion5 is cold fusion mx = to cold fusion 6.1?

Thanks for answering. Is there any benefits to running both
    servers? I
don't want to confuse myself with too many
    options.Essentially,I could
learn Dreamweaver (my ultimate goal) by using either
    installation.
No, while it is possible to run multiple versions of CF, it
    takes extra
configurations to do so. I would say this is unnecessary for
    just
learning. I would strongly suggest upgrading. CF 5 is the
    oldest and
most limited version of CF still officially supported by
    Adobe. The
latest version is 7.0.2. There is a huge, major, complete
    rewrite of CF
and many other bug fixes and enhancements between CF 5.x and
    the current
    version.
The current version and all versions of CF are free for
    download from
Adobe for a personal development copy. If you do so now,
    before you
start writing code, the upgrade install IIRC is quite
    painless and will
use the configurations you have already chosen.

  • How to register Rest web services in Cold Fusion 9 administration console?

I am building a Rest web service using Cold Fusion 9 and Cold Fusion Builder 3 and now I want to register it on Cold Fusion 9 admin console, but I didn't see any option there as in CF 10 and CF 11 Data Services ---> Rest Web service. So, please tell me how to register my Rest web service in CF 9 either through admin console or through code?

Simple answer: you can't.  REST services were a new feature released with CF10.  Alternatively, you can use a community-supported framework to provide REST services, such as:
    Taffy (a dedicated REST framework)
FW/1 (an MVC framework with REST capabilities)
ColdBox (an MVC framework with REST capabilities)

  • Cold fusion 9 Installation on Windows server 2008 (IIS 7.0) - IIS websites not working ?

I am having a 64 bit machine on which windows server 2008 R2 is installed. IIS 7.0 is configured and running on it. on which I have my organisations main website. I have to install Cold fusion on this machine as some of my site pages are designed with CF.
I used all the default settings for installing cold fusion 9. It got completed succefully. But after I restarted my system and tried accesing my ASP.net website it was not loading the page. Text getting displayed was only as follows '<script> src="'. Later I unsistalled CF and my site was working fine.
Please can any one guide me to successfully install Cold fusion without disturbing my main site deployed on IIS ?

Sarfarajms, I don't recognize what about the CF install would conflict with ASP.NET, but I'll note this:
If you downloaded CF 9 recently, you are still running 9.0--which does NOT formally support IIS 7. If you followed the steps about enabling IIS 6 compatibility and such (in the install guide or some blog entry), perhaps that caused the conflict.
Instead, you will want to install 9.0.1 (CF 9 Updater 1, which is NOT provided in the current 9.0 install). THAT is the first release to formally support IIS 7. And if you read the updater installation guide (http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/coldfusion/901/cf901install.pdf), it discusses how to deal with the upgrade depending on what you had done with respect to IIS, starting at the bottom of its page 8.
    Hope that helps.

  • SQL server with Cold Fusion?

    Hi everyone,
I am supposed to write a website, that its database is SQL
server and about 80,000 - 100,000 records in there.
is it OK to go with cold fusion? OR better to go with .NET
for faster and more reliable speed?
    I would appreciate your help.

The app server generally doesn't care so long as it supports
the DB driver. If the database is designed properly, the DBMS will
be doing most of the "grunt" work.
Any enterprise level app server can process a large database,
so go with your strengths, and SQL server will do you just fine.
I also wouldn't say .NET is faster ... I've seen my share of
sites using .NET that are slow as molasses. Your server
configuration will determine that more often than the app server,
so long as it is an enterprise level app server ... both of which
    .NET and CF are.
We run a SQL server for many clients and all are on CF ...
one table alone has over 250,000 records in it. What and how you
output will determine the speed between the 2, not how many records
    it can handle.

  • Cold Fusion 9 patch question

    Hi,
Is there a way to find the location of Cold Fusion 9 patches?
    I found this URL: http://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads_updates.html#cf9
Also, is there a way of determining what patches are missing for the Cold Fusion 9 installation?
Currently, have Version: 9,0,1,274733 and Adobe Driver Version: 4.0 (Build 0005)
Does the Cold Fusion patches include any Java necessary updates?
    Java Version: 1.6.0_17
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hello userCold9
Is there a way to find the location of Cold Fusion 9 patches?
    I found this URL: http://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads_updates.html#cf9
Here are the link to patches:-
    http://www.adobe.com/support/security/#coldfusion
If you go to the details of every patch, it would give you the information about the version number. Which would in turn, help you to locate the patch installed on your system.

  • Cold Fusion MX 7 MultiServer Cluster Question

    Hey all,
I've configured 2 Cold Fusion MX 7 servers running 2
instances each. I've configured a cluster between them and have the
    Proxy Listener up and running.
When I access the page, everything comes up just fine... but
when I round robin between them, I'm losing my session.
I've enabled J2EE Session variables, I enabled the load
balancing of sessions in the JRun admin console on the machines.
What am I doing wrong? I know the session is being written
the machine(s) because I can see them in the directories on the
    servers.

We've been having a similar issue, with occasional pages
hanging for hundreds of seconds at that same
JrppBufferedOutputStream, which SeeFusion identifies as "Writing
completed page back to the Web server".
This happens randomly throughout the day, more often when
there's more traffic, but also in the wee hours with relatively few
visitors; nothing else appears to be going on, often with the
long-running thread the only active thread.
Our setup is pretty similar to yours, CFMX7, MSSQL2000,
Win2k3 Server, but with dual Xeons instead of single-CPU. We've
applied the significant hotfixes, including the DST update to the
1.4.2_11 JVM. I'm not positive we've updated to the latest IIS
    connector (as mentioned in
    http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb07-02.html),
but will be checking, just to be sure. If you also don't have the
newest connector installed, that would be an interesting
    commonality.
We had problems in the past with CF locking up completely
during one of these hung threads, but after some tweaking to
stabilize memory usage below 80%, the lockups are rare.
So I have no answer, but will be sure to share any solution
we do find with you, and hope you'll do the same! :*)

  • Cold Fusion Communication

I want to find out whether coldfusion can talk with SVN ,the reason is I should be able to download the component from SVN to my local system modify and then add it again to back to SVN or directly upload a new component from my local system to SVN. Basically my cold fusion application sholud be able to talk with SVN to perform the above functions.

This is some dude named Dan's Prior Art, His site is dead but google gave a cached page...  I can imagine all kinds of mods and uses for something like this...
    Cool ColdFusion and Subversion integration
December 5th, 2007 Dan Skaggs Leave a comment Go to comments
I recently decided to outsource my souce code management to CVSDude. I had been running SVN on my VPS that I have at Slicehost and that had been running okay.  However, I’m only good enough at SVN administration to get the server up and running and create a few repositories and there were other things that I needed to do with SVN that I frankly didn’t have time to learn how to do.
One of the things that I’d heard talked about that made life much easier was using Subversion’s various hooks to automate some things around different SVN events.  I emailed tech support asking how we could configure the “post-commit” hook to update the files on my VPS each time I made a commit into the SVN module.  The tech told me that they do this by configuring an HTTP call to a page (or script etc) on your server.  That page then triggers an SVN update of the specific module.
After hearing this, I began thinking about how to use CFEXECUTE to trigger the SVN update and was actually surprised how simple it was.  My VPS runs on Fedora Core 6, so, like any *nix operating system, you need to make sure permissions on the files are set so that the user which runs ColdFusion can write to the directories.  Once that was accomplished, all it took was a few lines of code and we’re ready to start receiving HTTP callbacks from CVSDude’s servers.
CVSDude structures their SVN URLs in the format http://username-svn.cvsdude.com/modulename (or https://).  All my modules are named in reverse domain order for the web site that it is for (for example, this one is ws.skaggsfamily.dan).  I had already checked out all my modules into a specific directory.
The HTTP callback from CFSDude’s server has 4 URL parameters that they send over: root (full path to module), author (user), revision and date.  So all I really had to do was grab the URL.root value and extract the name of the module, pass that to the CFEXECUTE tag and, voila, automatic updating of the module immediately after the commit.
There were only 2 gotchas that I had to figure out:
Put the full path to the svn executable
Add in your username and password to the string in the arguments attribute of CFEXECUTE
The code that I used is below.  I’m sure there’s more that I could have done with it, but this is a good start I think.
    <cfif structKeyExists(URL, “date”) AND URL.date NEQ “” AND
        structKeyExists(URL,”author”) AND URL.author NEQ “” AND
        structKeyExists(URL, “revision”) AND URL.revision NEQ “” AND
        structKeyExists(URL, “root”) AND URL.root NEQ “”>
        <cfset module = replaceNoCase(URL.root, “http://username-svn.cvsdude.com/”, “”)>
        <cfexecute name=”/usr/bin/svn”
arguments=”up /var/sites/#module# –username yourUserName –password yourPassword”
          timeout=”300″
          variable=”result”>
        </cfexecute>
        <cflog log=”Application”
          type=”information”
          text=”#URL.author#:#URL.root#:#URL.revision# – #result#”>
    <cfmail to=”[email protected]
        from=”[email protected]
        subject=”Server updated successfully”>
The server has been successfully updated with your lastest changes.
Details of the update are below:
    Date: #URL.date#
    Module: #URL.root#
    Revision: #URL.revision#
    Results:
    #result#
    </cfmail>

  • Cold fusion 8 Update 1

    Hi,
I have a CF8 install on a dev box which I woudl like to
update with "Cold fusion update 1 ", I was wondering if someone
could confirm if "cf8 update 1 " will update existing installation
    or install a fresh installation??
I have tried running the cf8 update 1 but it looks like it's
going to perform a full installation and I really dont want to
    break the current instances.
    Regards,
    Mariano

    Hi Mariano,
    The
    ColdFusion Support
Home Page has links to various pages like the CF forums, hot
    fixes and updates. The
    updates
page has links under the "ColdFusion 8 Update 1 (8.0.1)" heading
for various downloads. These downloads will update your existing
ColdFusion 8 server or multiserver installation.
If you download a ColdFusion trial or developer version off
our download site, it will be a full installation of CF 8.0.1.
Those download options will include the 64 bit versions as Hemant
    indicated.
