Cold Fussion Admin

We had Cold Fusion 6 installed and a few months ago upgraded
to 7. We left the old CF on in case we needed to fall back to it. A
few weeks ago we had an issue with the CF 6 performance monitor
taxing the server and decided to uninstall CF 6. I uninstalled
through add/remove programs. This resulted in uninstalling the cold
fusion admin folder and making the virtual site inaccessible. I
recovered the Cold Fusion Admin folder and re-setup the virtual
site but we are not able to bring up the admin site. Any
suggestions on how to re-install Cold Fusion Admin?

Ian,
Thank for responding. I had a backup of the admin folder and
copied it back to the place we had it before which is:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CFIDE\administrator. I then went to IIS under
our current website and added a virtual folder for CF Admin,
setting the local path to the location of the admin folder. I can't
figure out what I am missing. When I browse the cf admin through
IIS, I get HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden Error.

Yes, there are entries in the log file.  I sent them to you.  Do you need the mail file again?

  • Problem recording a workstation ID

    Hello All,
Ok not sure if this is the correct category to post this in
    but ill try.
I have a large bespoked program throughout our company
allowing users to manage 'works orders' and other items via web
pages with cold fussion etc (normal stuff)
Just lately there is a need to trace when certain things are
deleted from our database, for auditing purposes.
I set up an SQL trigger on the table in question.. see below
    CREATE TRIGGER [woDelete] ON dbo.worksorders
    FOR DELETE
    AS
INSERT INTO Audit_Wo (Actiontaken, auser, adate, wo)
    SELECT 'D', USER_NAME (), GetDate(),Del.won from Deleted Del
so every time a worksorder is deleted I get an audit record
in the Audit_wo table showing me what date, worksorder, and user
    deleted it.
My problem is when a user deletes a worksordeer through our
off the shelf MRP program the 'USER_NAME()' is populated correctly
i.e I would see DOMAIN\username in the audit table.
However if a user deletes a worksorder via my bespoked
coldfussion pages the 'USER_NAME()' variable returns just 'dbo' im
assuming this is because its actually being deleted by the server
so therefore the user deleting it is realy the server and not the
    user logged into a workstation.
How can I set a variable on my cold fussion page that would
then be seen by the SQL trigger, Im just not sure on how it works
can I just <cfset a variable up and then put that variable in my
SQL trigger or how do I pass a coldfussion variable to an SQL one.
im just confussed how I would do this.
I thought id ask here although im going to go and play now
see if I can resolve it as well.
    Many Kind Regards Guy

You could use the host_name() function from SQL. So, if your
machines are named as the users, it would essentially be the same
as the username. However, since it's a web app, they can log in
from any machine, so that might not work.
Alternatively, try setting a coldfusion variable to
REMOTE_USER or AUTH_USER. However, that only works if
authentication is turned on and the script is protected. Also, I'm
not sure that you would be able to use that variable in a trigger.
You might have to break it up into two sql batches - the delete and
then the insert into the audit table (do this using stored
procedures...fast and efficient), like Swift was saying.
    I hope that this helps.
    Thanks...Chris

I want to use real java on the web reporting system but like to build the website in Coldfusion .I need to know the following information about coldfusion
A> How to intergrade Coldfusion with Java ( J2EE)
B > Do I have to install Java on both Web server and on My workstation
C> Can I write program in Java SDK and connect it to the web interface that is been done with coldfusion
D > Can I USE JDBC to get data from our databse to create the reports
    Your help is appreciated
    Thank you

A> How to intergrade Coldfusion with Java ( J2EE)This I'll leave to someone that has something positive to say about Cold Fussion.
B > Do I have to install Java on both Web server and
on My workstation If you are to use a Java solution on any part of your Enterprise, then you have to have Java installed on the specific parts/tiers that will be a part of the Java solution.
C> Can I write program in Java SDK and connect it to
the web interface that is been done with coldfusion Depends on ehat you mean by "connect it to the web interface".
D > Can I USE JDBC to get data from our databse to
create the reports Generally speaking yes, but you will have to have a JDBC driver for your database.

Not sure why you are in the CF group. What do you want to

As far as your web pages - start with a doc type.

  • Issuing snmp alarms in weblogic

    Hi,
I think there is a way for WebLogic (or EM FMC Control) to be configured to generate an SNMP alarm when there are app or managed server problems ?
    Regards,
    Harsha

To communicate with the WebLogic SNMP agent, you need to load the WebLogic Server management information base (MIB)
data into the MIB Browser. Using the MIB Browser application's File menu, select the Load MIB menu item, browse to the
${WL_HOME}/server/lib directory, and select the BEA-WEBLOGIC-MIB.asn1 file. After expanding the BEA-WEBLOGIC-MIB folder
on the left, you should see a list of WebLogic SNMP MIB tables.
This is interesting, but the main reason to use SNMP is to send unsolicited messages to the SNMP manager whenever something
happens. These unsolicited messages are called SNMP traps. WebLogic SNMP can generate traps to notify the SNMP manager
of certain types of events. WebLogic Server comes with a set of predefined traps for server startup, server shutdown, cold start
(admin server startup), and authentication failure. You can also set up three other types of traps: attribute change traps,
log message traps, and monitor traps.
The first step is to configure the Trap Viewer to listen for traps. Using the MIB Browser's View menu, select the Trap Viewer
menu item. Use the Trap Viewer's Start button to tell it to start listening for traps on its default port, port 162, with a Community
of public. Now, you need to configure the WebLogic Server side. For each SNMP agent, use the agent's Trap Destinations Configuration
tab to create a new trap destination. Set the Name to WebNMSTrapViewer, the Community to public, the Host to the IP address or
hostname of the machine where Trap Viewer is running (for example, localhost), and the Port to 162. If you are using SNMP v1.0
style traps, you do not need to specify the Security Name or Security Level attributes, which only apply to SNMP v3 style traps.
Do not forget to target the SNMP agent to the admin server.
Monitor traps are used to monitor an attribute value of an MBean; they come in three types: counter, string, and gauge.
A counter trap simply generates a trap when a particular attribute value meets or exceeds the threshold value. For example,
you might want to define a counter monitor trap to let you know when a server is using all of the connections in the
connection pool. To do this, you need to use the ActiveConnectionsHighCount attribute of the JDBCConnectionPoolRuntimeMBean
with the Monitored MBean Name of MyDataSourceName on ServerName.
A string monitor trap compares the attribute value against a string and can raise a trap when the string matches or when it differs.
A gauge monitor trap will alert you whenever the attribute value meets or exceeds the Threshold High value and when it reaches
or falls below the Threshold Low. If you have a JDBC connection pool where the Initial Capacity and Maximum Capacity attributes
are different, you might want to create a gauge monitor to monitor the maximum and minimum number of connections. By setting
the Threshold Low value to be one less than the Initial Capacity, your gauge monitor trap could monitor the
ActiveConnectionsCurrentCount attribute of the JDBCDataSourceRuntime MBean and alert you whenever the number of active
connections are less than the Initial Capacity (which might indicate database connectivity problems).

  • Cold Fusion Website Admin Security

    Hello all,
I wanted to set up a quick and dirty admin from my coldfusion
site. It is (obviously) database driven, and I have been accessing
the database directly to make all the changes. I want to put an
admin section up, but I am concerned about security. Can someone
point me to a walk through on how to do this securely? I am going
to have more than 1 page in the administrator section. I realize
you could probably do this on just one page, but I want to break it
out more than that. I don't think passing variables in the URL is
the right way to do it.

    Hi Mike,
Once update is applied, CFadmin > System Information  should report EG:
    Update Level  D:/ColdFusion11/cfusion/lib/updates/chf11000002.jar
CFadmin > Server Update > Updates > Installed updates tab should say EG:
    ColdFusion 11 Update 1
    Update Level: 01
    Update Type:  General
    Install Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2014 10:26:01 +1000
    Update Description:  etc
Perhaps you could try to apply the update manually. Likely the updates are downloaded and located here:
\ColdFusion11\cfusion\hf-updates as hotfix_001.jar or hotfix_002.jar for update 1 and 2. Run CMD prompt as administrator. CD (change directory) to \ColdFusion11\jre\bin then type in (drive letter and paths may vary):
    java -jar c:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\hf-updates\hotfix_002.jar
follow the graphic window prompts specifying correct paths as needed.
Reminder update 1 and update 2 have a patch for CF to IIS connector. This needs manually applying after update with WSCONFIG tool.

  • Laserjet 4345 mfp won't scan to folder; web interface not showing all admin tabs

    Hi,
I have a laserjet 4345 mfp which, until a few days ago, was able to scan documents to a network folder. When I try now it gives me the error "the path cannot be found". Here's what I've tried so far:
    - Looked for a way to change the network folder settings or define a new folder. I couldn't find any so I printed the "how to scan to folder" page from the control panel. It tells me to define a new location by clicking the "Other" button on the control panel, but I can't find an Other button, on any screen.
    - Accessed the web interface, which only shows up  with the "Home" and "Networking" tabs - no "Digital Sending", "Settings", or  "Information" tabs, which should be there according to the manual.
    - Thinking it might be a permissions issue, I checked and found that the administrator password was not set. I set the admin password via the web interface, and now when I try to access it prompts for the password I defined, but still gives this incomplete interface. I am also able to access and change all the networking settings, so I don't think insufficient permissions are the issue.
    - Called HP support, they said the problem is permissions and I should cold reset the machine, which I am quite reluctant to do since not only all settings, but the entire address book as well, would need to be re-entered. This aside from the fact that I really don't think permissions are the issue, as decribed above.
    - Verified that I am able to send scans to different email addresses. SMTP gateway test goes through OK. LDAP does not, but this has not prevented scan to folder from working in the past.
I don't know how the scan-to folder was initially set up because I wasn't supporting this client at the time.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance.

I have a problem with my scan to folder as well and I have to access the folder from a computer before it will work.  I'm not sure why that works, actually.  You might want to give that a try to see if it fixes the problem.  If it does, I imagine it is some sort of security problem with the folder you are trying to scan to.
    Thanks,
    Tiffany

  • Unable to login to apex as admin after apparent successful installation

I am unable to login to apex as admin after an apparent successful installation.
I have an existing Oracle database 11.2.0.1.0 with Oracle Text running on Windows 7 Professional with hundreds of gigabytes of free disk space available. I did everything as an operating system user with administrator privileges. I downloaded the latest version of apex 4.0.2 for all languages, unzipped the downloaded zip file, extracting all files to an apex directory. I changed the working directory to apex and started sql*plus, connected sys as sysdba, ran apexins.sql installation, apex_epg_config.sql and apexconf.sql configuration, apexchpwd.sql to change the admin password, and apxldimg.sql to copy the images, and exec dbms_xdb.sethttpport(8080), unlocked accounts, and granted connect privileges.
The installation log did not show any errors and included:
"Thank you for installing Oracle Application Express.
Oracle Application Express is installed in the APEX_040000 schema.
The structure of the link to the Application Express administration services is as follows:
http://host:port/pls/apex/apex_admin (Oracle HTTP Server with mod_plsql)
http://host:port/apex/apex_admin (Oracle XML DB HTTP listener with the embedded PL/SQL gateway)
The structure of the link to the Application Express development interface is as follows:

http://host:port/apex (Oracle XML DB HTTP listener with the embedded PL/SQL gateway)
    JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES: 1000"
When I use either browser, Firefox 3.6.12 or Internet Explorer 8.0, and go to http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin I get a screen that says:
"Enter Application Express internal administration credentials"
and has boxes for a username and password. When I enter admin and the admin_password that I selected, then click on login nothing happens. I don't get logged in. I don't get an error message. It does not show any signs of anything running. It just sits there. I also don't get any messages from Windows or Norton 360 indicating that a pop-up window was blocked or any such thing. I checked that the services are running and also tried shutting down the computer and re-starting (cold boot), but was still unable to login.
I am a retired developer, not a DBA, so if there is anything else that I should do or check or provide, then please let me know. I have provided a copy and paste of everything that I could think of below. Oddly I don't see an admin user.

Are you sure you did give right path to script ? Yes.
    >
If you extract files to folder c:\temp, you have after that folder c:\temp\apex and bunch of sub folders.
For script to update images, you give path to folder where you did extract apex install files.
In above case that is then c:\temp .
    >I created a directory c:\apex on my laptop. I downloaded the zip file to that directory. When I extracted the files to folder c:\apex, the result was c:\apex\apex with a bunch of sub folders and files. When I ran the script, I gave the path c:\apex as indicated in my copy and paste. So, I did everything the same as in the quote above, except that I used apex instead of temp.
Try extract Apex install zip to c:\temp and give c:\temp as path for scriptAre you suggesting that I redo the entire installation using c:\temp instead of c:\apex? What difference would that make? Would I need to do some sort of uninstall first?

  • Need Help with mysql admin for Mac

    Hello all.
I am new to cold fusion and databases all together. Infact I
am doing an online tutorial to get me started, my problem is the
tutorial really just scratches the surface for the mac side and in
some cases sorta explains how to do but no visual help and I am
    very visual.
I am searching for software that is really idiot proof to
start my knowledge with then make the transition when I learn more
and more to hard coding. The tutorial suggests Navicat for Mysql
admin and it is nice but he is setting up basic databases in Access
which looks really easy and I am trying to follow along with
navicat but I am just not getting it specifically when it comes to
setting up relationships between tables. Can I use a software like
FileMaker Pro and just convert to mysql or is their other software
that makes it a little more easy to understand how to set up
    relationships like access does.
I am totally new to this stuff and I am looking for the
easiest product to use. Thanks again for your help and time.

As for the database part, before you write your first query,
you should become grounded in the concepts of data modeling. Then
find a good source (book, books-on-line, etc. ) for the particular
"flavor" of SQL used by your database of choice, then start writing
your queries. Data model first (entities, relationships,
    attributes), then SQL.
Couple of fairly good online tutorials for data modeling.

  • Modifying cold fusion script not picked up by iis

We are running coldfusion 7, using iis6 on windows 2003 server. I am not a cold fusion developer and this is the only coldfusion script we have created by a previous developer. It's in the CF Administrator, which is separate from the JRun Admin Console. You can often get to the CF Administrator with a URL like this:

    Hi All:
HPe9180f with Vista 64 bit Home Premium.
I have two HP w2408h monitors, purchased and installed on the above computer, when new.  I have tried Tech Support who have certainly tried to take "ownership" of my issue, but with no solution, I have given up.
My issue is that I can work correctly with both monitors, extended desktop mode, if I never shut off my computer....if I do, the second monitor will not turn on during a cold start.  My workaround, discovered by accident, is to log on in a non-admin user, wait until all programs, etc are loaded and then Restart....my second monitor then activates.  Does anybody know what to do to do to make Windows/ Bios recognize that I have two monitors permanently in use at all times, especially at startup?

GC, I would search for an updated driver for you video card/chip.  This sounds like it may be a driver problem.  Video and Audio problems are very difficult to diagnose from afar.  So, I always begin with the most obvious solutions.  Just call me "Mr. Obvious".

  • First experience -- hot/cold

    In  regards to posting: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=59846
My problem with it was first it took 1+ years to close it. In addition, I was a newbie with 0 experience with Arch. Furthermore, I had no problem with the admin closing it forever, except that then person did  not provide a link to the Arch solution (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sudo). Allan (http://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=11253) the admin probably knew it, and may have overlooked it, but he should have added the solution before closing it. In otherwords, my post was incorrect, and the solution allen provided to a newbie was a dumb link that gave him authority (reason) to close it, but  no real solution.
As for the whitespace, I had no X, and was using lynx, for which, I had little experience (damn, now I know why people don't want Adboe taking over the world with so-called internet rich experiences --- just put in plain text. I guess, that's another story...
So, can some adim correct http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=59846  and add a link to the Arch solution?
    Regards,
    Mark J. Olesen

yep, your right again, Arch is not for the beginer or interested in learning. In otherwords, that's the general  idea of Arch --- piss off if you don't now what your doing.
So, again, I say, install Arch on an old barbones PC X86 architecture, without any previous knowledge of Arch, and  no X --- don't rely on it nel to provide sevices, and see where you get I hate to ifnorm you it's noit arch, but the kernel, that is providing services to the packages that Arch installs by default.
If you don't understand anything I am saying, then I assume you have some modern computer that has the latest kernel, and just goes along with the flow...
My original post is still relevant.
Give it a try with older hardware such as a dell i ...
In addition, someone should update all wikis pertaining to hwd, it is also outdated.
Please, goto your terminal and issue hwd -X (doesn't exist).
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg
    Try to install it,
First, install the hwd package from the AUR.
    (doesn't exist)
There is the cold. Nobody, gives a crap because there system is working, and  nobody else cares to change old documentation.
Get a person who knows nothing about Arch, and nothing about *nix type sytems, and they will be lost. First thier community  doesn't even't try to understand the plight of an underprivliaged user and there beginer comunity is full of people who  already has the greatest working on thier expensive laptops.
Their answer, can't solve it---not my problem.  In other words, it works for me, too bad for you ---  your on your own.

First - backing up the standby in ADMIN mode / cold backup on the standby database, right?  The source and target (standby) have different server names.
Is it possible to clear the log area or some other process to fix the issue?

    Hi Mike,
You may need to restore the database with re-intialization and clear the logs
Refer to the copy steps described in the thread
    Error while recover logs
    Hope this helps.
