Cold War Demo on MacBook

I can't seem to run the Cold War Demo download on my MacBook.
I tried changing the screen resolution but that doesn't work.
Any other ideas?

I don't have any personal knowledge of this game but according THIS page the demo version of the game doesn't support Intel Macs. The full version does.

  • Can i play napoleon total war in my macbook air

    Hello can i play napoleon total war in my macbook air 11.7 mid12 64g og do it run ok og doesnt my computer gonna slow? Thank.

    The above is a screen cap from the App Store page for the game. Typically when the VRAM for a GPU is listed it's usually targeted at discrete cards not shared GPUs like the one found on the MacBook Air. I have not had the opportunity to install onto my MacBook Air yet as it's only got 4GB of RAM but I did install it on my 13" rMBP with 8GB of RAM and it's playable on low-to-medium. You definitely won't be running the game on ultra.
    I found turning down the shaders, shadows and particle effects help tremendously as by mid-battle with all the units in the play the game definitely got a bit laggy due to pure unit count.

  • Napoleon Total War Error 403 Macbook Air

    I've been downloading Napoleon Total War for my Macbook Air and the last few times I have recieved a 403 forbidden error. It has not completed download, and is not in my application folder so Feral's answer to several other users will not work for me.

    Disable anti virus software if installed.
    If you have Little Snitch installed, that can prevent apps from downloading.

  • MX 440 - getting error on Lego Star Wars Demo - Vertex & Pixel shader?

    Hi people,
    First time poster!  I have an old-ish card (GeForce MX 440) but it has always worked fine for me until today!
    I have downloaded the huge Lego Star Wars Demo after so many positive reviews, but now get the error message:  "Sorry but your machine is unable to run this game.  We require a graphics card which supports vertex and pixel shader 1.1"
    Well, I thought my card did... err.. does...  What am I doing wrong!!! Please help me someone! HELP!      Okay Oscar stuff over.  But does anyone know how I can overcome this (short of buying a modern warp driven graphics card)?
    Thanks in advance,

    FAQ
    When I try to run the game I get an error message saying "Fatal Error: Your Graphics card does not support Pixel Shader v1.1"
    The most likely cause is your video card does not support Pixel Shader 1.1. As it states on the game box, you must have a video card that supports Pixel Shader 1.1 for LEGO: Star Wars to run. Unless you are running an Nvidia GeForce 3 ti, 4 ti, or FX, 6000 or an ATI Radeon 8500, or Radeon 9000 series, or X series card, this game will not run. None of the Nvidia GeForce MX, or GeForce 2/GTS/GO video cards are supported, as they lack the Pixel Shader chip on the card itself. Any ATI Radeon card not listed on the game package will not run LEGO: Star Wars. On-board Intel (82810, 82845, 82845G, 82865G) video chips are not supported, as they lack nearly all the required hardware needed to run LEGO: Star Wars.
    ***Please note Nvidia TNT cards and ATI Rage cards are also NOT supported***
    Please Note: Customers with systems running the Intel 82915G video chip will not be able to play Lego: Star Wars. Although the 915G chipset does support Pixel Shader v2.0, it does not support Hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L). Hardware TnL is a basic DirectX 9.0 function which is not supported by any Intel video chip. As Lego: Star Wars does use Hardware T&L along with Pixel Shader, this game will not run on any Intel Graphics chip.

  • Lego Star Wars on a MacBook Air

    My son got the Lego Star Wars game for Mac and when I tried to download it to his Macbook Air I got the error "can't open app Lego Star Wars because Power PC Applications are no longer supported"  Any ideas? Can I get this to work?

    I am able to drag photos from iPhoto to Contacts on my MacBook Air. I resize the iPhoto window to make it smaller, open Contacts, select the Contact in question and click the Edit button at the lower right of the contact. I then drag the photo from iPhoto.
    The step that I'm guessing that you might be missing is clicking the Edit button at the lower right of the contact.

  • WINDOWS BLACK SCREEN AFTER VM WARE DEMO PLEASE HELP

    I tried installing VM Ware Fusion Demo. I could not use my wireless mouse and keyboard, now I can't even startup with Windows. I get a black screen. Please help!

    Go into safemode and uninstall the Nvidia driver you have installed and after restarting the computer and allowing extra time for windows to install a default driver for the graphics, install the Windows 7 driver for your computer found in the Toshiba download page for your laptop.
    If you have issues with the screen blacking out after doing that, follow the instructions found here and this will correct that.

  • Can I play Empire Total War on my Macbook Air 13" 2012?

    I do not need to run it on ultra settings. Just medium without any lag. Here are the specifics for my Air:
    Processor  1.8 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.2 (12C3012)

    Was würdet ihr machen? Ich mein, ich bezahle für Neuware, ansonsten würde ich bei eBay kaufen...
    Sorry, bin gerade wahnsinnig enttäuscht und verärgert.
    Michael

    Hello Barbara and thank you for your answer.
    I've ment side by side view.   And it works by pressing F12 + cmd. Thanks.
    Zoom & Pinch only works in the Editor, but not very well or smooth. And I couldn't tell you how often the Editior rotate my images unwanted ...
    In the preferences of the Organizer, there is no point for a scroll wheel. And I'm really not able to zoom in the organizer over the "fitts in screen" size.
    And I've found some more problems Sometime I'd like to export my images without any Exif/Metadata Information and resized. I haven't found any point do do so.
    At the Moment, I'm thinking about switching back to Aperture, where I came from - I've tried to use PSE 'cause of Adobes Raw Converter, which is much much better with Olympus RAW Files than Apertures.

  • It´s possible deploy ADF Demo in Tomcat 6 ???

    Hi.
    I deploy the ADF Demo (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html), in Weblogic 10.3.3.
    But I´m triying to deploy the war demo, in tomcat. But i can´t.
    It´s possible deploy this application??. I Think that is possible because it´s a war proyect.
    Thanks

    It may be possible, but it's not supported. If you have a search of the forums, you can find people who have, with varying degrees of success, managed to deploy ADF projects to Tomcat.

  • ERROR WITH NETWEAVER VM WARE

    Hi,
    I've got a bit further with installing the VM Ware version, now I manage to get up to the running "SAPGUI for Java".
    Still following instructions at "/people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2008/03/31/sap-netweaver-70--java-and-abap-trial-version-on-linux--vmware-edition--tips-tricks, I get up to :
    "3.4 Install license
    Now double-click on the SAPGUI icon on the desktop
    And then I click "connect" and I get an error, picture of the error here :
    http://www.geocities.com/agalacy/sap_vmware_error.JPG
    I must say I've rarely (never) had so much trouble trying to get a VM Ware demo working... I'm staring to wonder if anyone's ever made this thing work except from the blog author...
    However, does someone know what might be wrong ? Could it be something wrong with the port numbers or semething ? The server start "startsap n4shost" went well without any errors.
    Thanks,
    Angela

  • New MacBook Pro, Adobe Air crashes

    Oh, this joy that is a new 15" MacBook Pro to replace my beloved but war weary white Macbook circa 2007 is turning into a nightmare.
    I've done nothing but run Software Update a few times to make sure everything is up to date. Then I installed iBank. That's it. Now onto the big stuff.
    As a designer, first order of business was to prepare to install Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium. A quick check made it clear that CS 3 wasn't compatible, so I admitted yeah, it was time to pony up another grand to Adobe in order to upgrade. Can't do that until next month, but no problem, right, I can just download the software, do the one month trial, and then be flush with cash next month and pony up.
    I download the package. I try to install... I need a new version of Adobe Air. Using Safari I download Air installer... and when I try to install it does nothing, tells me I need a new version of Air. Huh?
    So I poke around online and find LOTS of talk of this problem, LOTS of "Yeah, me too" but no solutions. Seriously? You've got to be kidding me. It's got to be out there and I'm just missing it.
    Keep in mind this is a fresh out of the box machine...

    FYI for anyone that finds this while looking to solve the same problem. I continued digging, and here's what I found that finally worked for me.
    1. Go into System Preferences, Energy Saver, and uncheck Automatic Graphic Switching.
    2. In /library/frameworks, delete the Adobe Air folder, if you have one.
    3. Download, install and run Firefox. Download the Air install package using Firefox. KEEP FIREFOX OPEN AS YOU RUN THE PACKAGE.
    4. Install Air (with Firefox open, remember).
    Go about your business.
    This solution makes no sense to me.
    To have this much trouble with something that is needed, at least for designers, so much, seems crazy to me. But... it looks like there's no fix yet. I found these steps in an Adobe bug report thread; as of end of December the developers were still saying a fix was coming, sometime.
    I also really hate that Lion won't show me my disks. That bugs me, for some reason!
    Amy

  • What is this Apple part number: 661-4999?

    I was wondering if this can be used to remove the 09 logic board and install the 2010 logic board which is the same, except for the efi firmware to enable westmere on the 09..
    Thanks and have a great day!

    I wouldn't be so sure about believing that, because that engineer could very well lose his/her job for telling you something like that. Steve Jobs missed his calling as an intelligence officer during the cold war. That, or he's off his meds again. Actually, if some of the stories about the guy are true, I wouldn't be surprised if he's actually a mild paranoid schizophrenic, or at least a bipolar who gets a little paranoid when they have a long manic phase. But I digress.
    And contrary to some people's egos, I don't make it a habit of memorizing the various things people here have done with their systems. I pointed out the heatsink thing because a long shaft 3mm hex screwdriver isn't exactly the sort of thing people tend to have in their home toolkits. If you do, then go buy yourself a cookie. When I made that post, you were just another random person on these forums, and 5 minutes after I'm done posting this, odds are I will have forgotten who you are again due to making absolutely no effort to retain that information.
    And Apple has been known to completely redesign things because of some need. Look at the new Mac Mini for example. And even the older Mac Minis looked completely different inside over the years. iMac logic boards have changed quite a bit between 2007 and 2009. MacBook and MacBook Pro boards are the same way. Plus, you've seen the processor trays on the 09 models. Tell me, where exactly are they going to stick another 1-2 memory banks? There isn't enough real estate on that board for any more RAM. Maybe if they took the dual CPU version, just moved both CPUs to one side, but then you'd create a thermal buildup in one area, not to mention screw with the weight distribution of the tray when removing it.
    Someone is either giving you bad info or risking their job. Neither of which really does a lot to vouch for the person's credibility. I wouldn't go making any plans until I've actually seen the boards for myself.

  • Channel Guide completely wrong for Stanley Cup Hockey

    Just wanted to report the dismal job that Fios did managing both of the Stanley Cup Game 7's that were on tonight.  I set up my DVR to record the Washington Capitals Game which was shown as being on Channel 590.  Fortunately I turned on the TV to see that 590 was actually playing some history of cold war era hockey...the game was actually on 576 which was incorrectly listed as MLS Soccer.  This is NOT the first time I have seen this happen either.   I quickly switched to record 576 instead, but that was only a short program which stopped recording in the middle of the game...because I overlooked the fact that I would have needed to record the next 9 shows to actually get the whole game.  Really?  Someone can't update the guide with 24 hours notice?
    To add insult to injury I was also trying to watch the Bruins game 7 and was recording it as well.  When I came back to watch it, the "poker" recording that was actually the Bruins game was completely missing, meaning I did not get to see any of the overtime.  I have a witness who saw this entire fiasco unfold.
    What a horrible TV experience for two big game 7's.
    Oh yeah, and the Fios TV rates went up $10 this month.  Certainly NOT a happy customer.

    What area are you in? Because it was listed correctly in our area on the guide last night.
    However, when a game is being broadcast nationally - and also on the local RSN, no matter what the sport - it will show up in the guide, even if it's being blacked out. The national broadcast is subject to local blackout nearly all the time when the local RSN is broadcasting the same game. This happens frequently with the Mets and Yankees. When they are on ESPN or MLB Network in a game that isn't an exclusive national broadcast, the game will still show up on the ESPN or MLB Network guide info for every provider - FiOS, DIrectv, Comcast, etc. Even though it's blacked out locally.
    Hope that made sense.

  • Can We Use Multiple Edgehero Classes On The Same Element?

    Does anyone know if it is possible to add multiple Edgehero classes to the same element? More specifically, I would like to use RotateX and RotateY on a rectangle, but it only seems to do one or the other, adding both classes to the element doesn't make it rotate in both directions.

    Maybe check out the Star Wars demo to see if that would help.
    Rob got the idea from the one I made earlier and here is the code:
    sym.$('gradient').css('background', '-moz-linear-gradient(top, rgba(0,0,0,1) 0%, transparent 100%)');
    sym.$('container').css('-moz-transform-origin', '50% 100%');
    sym.$('container').css('-moz-transform', 'perspective(250px) rotateX(25deg)');
    // Chrome and others
    sym.$('gradient').css('background', '-webkit-linear-gradient(top, rgba(0,0,0,1) 0%, transparent 100%)');
    sym.$('container').css('-webkit-transform-origin', '50% 100%');
    sym.$('container').css('-webkit-transform', 'perspective(250px) rotateX(25deg)');
    // Internet Explorer
    sym.$('gradient').css('background', '-ms-linear-gradient(top, rgba(0,0,0,1) 0%, transparent 100%)');
    sym.$('container').css('-ms-transform-origin', '50% 100%');
    sym.$('container').css('-ms-transform', 'perspective(250px) rotateX(25deg)');
    and the orginal file before edgeHero;

  • How do I get Genius to work with music that it should?

    How do I start a Genius playlist with Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry? There is no reason it shouldn't work, it's not like I don't have a lot of similar music. In my google search of the issue, many Genius playlists that people have posted included the very song in question, so why wouldn't it work for me? But there is no option. How do I fix the problem? I have tried turning my genius on and off, I have tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes. I have tried on multiple computers. Please, no one respond to this so that it gets asked of the specialists.

    I will stop posting about the same issue when there is not the same issue to post about. I have noticed the issue a few other times, but I can't recall with which songs. For the most part, it will create the playlists.
