Coldfusion 10 on Mac OS 10.8?

Is there an estimated date for when Coldfusion 10 will be available for Mac OS 10.8?

Hi Adam,
Yes, we can understand that as of now we don't have any exact date but you can follow below mentioned link to get latest update on this:

  • Viewing ColdFusion 9 Mac localhost sites that are rerouted via virtual host on VMWare Fusion PC

Hey, I've got some localhost CF9 stuff running on my mac that are rerouted via virtual host and etc/host file to be like local.myprojectname.dev and I'm trying to set things up in VMWare Fusion PC so I can view in a browser. I've gotten as far as being able to add an IP to the PCs host file, and then pull up the root directory of the localhost but can't seem to figure out how to get the virtual host domain to work. This make any sense?

You will need to configure Host header support in your web server software. Both IIS and Apache support Host headers, but they're configured differently of course.
Then, if you want those Host headers to route on your Mac host OS, you'll need to map them in /etc/hosts to your VM's IP address.

  • ColdFusion 8 Fails to start after update Java for Mac OSX 10.5 Update 4

I have been using ColdFusion on a Mac for years. Now CF fails to start after I updated Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4. I usually start by typing in the terminal window sudo /Applications/ColdFusion8/bin/ColdFusion start.
There is a crash report but I don't know how to read it. See attached.
Please help, I need this working for my job.
    Thanks...Colin

    Dear Craig,
Macbook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB RAM
I'm sure that this is 64-bit
    CF 8.0.1 Enterprise Build 3080
I had moved the Java SE 6 to the top in both Plugin and Applications. The
correct version is showing in the terminal window. See below.
Last login: Thu Jun 18 11:27:09 on ttys001
    Beta-4:~ Colin$ java -version
    java version "1.6.0_13"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03-211)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.3-b02-83, mixed mode)
    Beta-4:~ Colin$
CF will not start. I have the activity monitor open, and when I start CF you
see it in the activity monitor for a few seconds as it starts up. When the
message process is completed in the terminal window CF disappears in the
    activity monitor.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi, Colin,
My apologies but I forgot to ask 2 questions: (1) What kind of Mac you have
(Intel or PowerPC)? (2) What version of CF are you running and what installer
    did you choose (8 or 8.0.1, 32-bit, 64-bit, etc.)?
    To start, try the following:
    1. Normally you'd shut CF down first ... but that's not necessary for you
    2. Open Java Preferences again
    3. Select Java SE 6 and move it (drag) to the top spot in both section (Applet
    Plugin and Applications)
    4. Open Terminal
    5. Type java -version (you should see 1.6.0_13 as the new version)
    6. Try to start CF again
This may not work (I've had issues with it) but it's technically how it's
supposed to work. With the Java Preferences utility, you're visually setting a
default JVM (you can do it with commands in Terminal but this is much faster
    and easier).
If CF still won't start, look for the jvm.config file in your CF application
    folder (try /Applications/ColdFusion8/bin or
    /Applications/ColdFusion8/runtime/bin -- the latter is where a jvm.config file
is on my machine for a particular version of CF that's installed similar to
yours). You can override the JVM in this file but, hopefully, that won't be
    necessary!
    Best,
    Craig

  • Does Coldfusion work on Mac OS 10.4.7

i have downloaded the developer version and the trial version
of coldfusion and i can not get them to do what the documentation
claims coldfusion will do. coldfusion, i guest is running i see
cfmx in the activity monitor, but when i login to the server i get
a 500 null webpage. adobe technical support will not help on
installation because its a trial product. i have been referred to
documation that seems to be out of date and in the case on the 500
null error, the information pertains to windows xp, window 2000,
windows. i have tried to use dreamweaver to setup a site and use
coldfusion as the server technology; dreamweaver does not
acknowledge that the coldfusion server is running. i have tried
jrun, but the file download always uncompresses as corrupt. ok. so
has anyone got coldfusion to work on mac os x 10.4.7? and were you
able to get dreamweaver to recognise coldfusion as the server
technology. what must i do to get coldfusion to run on a power mac
    2 gigs, mac os x 10.4.7, os software up-to-date.
    J2E 5.0 as the jvm.
    thanks,

More problems installing CFMX7 on Mac 10.4.7. I changed the
JVM to 1.2.4 in Terminal, as suggested, and tried using the
StartCFMX.app also outlined here, but neither of these attempts
helped get CFAdmin running. Now I've installed a new version, chose
the default server install so I could get the
Applications/ColdFusionMX7/ setup, not the /JRun/ setup of the
multi-server install. Please see the clean log files below and give
me any advice you can about what I need to do next to get
ColdFusionMX7 for Developer running on my computer! I've used this
on a PC for a couple of years and have recently purchased an intel
Mac dual core processor. Does that mean I don't have a ppc Mac
setup and that's why this isn't working? I've been at this for more
than a day now and really need to get this running soon! Thanks for
    the help.

  • ColdFusion Builder Update 1 issue on Mac

If you are running ColdFusion Builder Plugin inside Flash Builder 4 on Mac, and you check for updates and install CFB Update 1, make sure you close FB4 before installing the update.  If not, it will blow up your CFB plugin in FB4 and you'll have to reinstall CFB.
Instead of using the check for CFB updates inside FB4/Eclipse,I had to:
    1) close FB4.
    2) Run Adobe Updater outside FB4
    3) Download CFBuilder Update 1 and install it.
    4) Then re-open FB4 again

  • ColdFusion Builder 3 Mac Eclipse Plugin

I have been trying numerous ways to install CFBuilder 3 Trial into Eclipse 4.2.2 on Mac (Yosemite) and just cannot get CFBuilder to load the CF Perspective. I have tried in various Eclipse versions, and in multiple orders including just installing CFBuilder Trial Edition without in a clean 4.2.2 Eclipse from clean CF install (plugin only, but tried also installing full CFBuilder app both before and after plugin installation, rebooting between each install) and new workspace.
My ultimate goal is to also install Flash Builder 4.7 into the same Eclipse app, but am starting with CFBuilder since Flash Builder installs successfully. Note that this question is ONLY for the ColdFusion Builder 3 installation alone without Flash Builder installed on the machine.
Bottom line: I just cannot get CFBuilder 3 to load into Eclipse 4.2.2 and show the CF Perspective even though it appears to be a successful plugin install; I am starting Eclipse either from both the plugin directory's shortcut and from the eclipse app itself - neither work.
Does anyone have a clue whether this can be done on a Mac?

    Milan...
My apologies for taking so long to get back to this. I just did some testing tonight of your instructions as well as those by Kaif above.
Firstly, I installed ColdFusion 10 locally on my Mac. I added the local server to the CF Servers panel successfully. After restarting Eclipse, the localhost entry remained in the CF Server panel.
Secondly, I followed your instructions to make a new profile and make my font/coloring customizations in it. I restarted Eclipse and my font and color selections were maintained (through 3 restarts). I noted that my newly created profile was selected in Preferences after each restart.
I then added a remote CF 10 server to the CF Servers panel successfully (as noted by the panel telling me that the server was running and being able to launch the CF Admin from within Eclipse). At this point there were 2 entries in my CF Server panel--localhost and the one remote server that lives inside my VM. I restarted Eclipse and when it came back up, only the localhost server remained. I might add that the VM has ColdFusion 10 installed in "multi-instance" mode and that the remote server instance that I added to the CF Servers panel was one of 4 CF instances configured and running inside the VM.
All the while, my font and color customizations have remained the way I set them.
So, it appears as though we're down to just one bug relating to remote server registrations in the CF Servers panel.
I saw that another user was reporting something similar in this thread: ColdFusion Builder 3 RDS and Remove Server settings reset on each restart so apparently it's not just me.
Thanks to you and everyone else for all the ideas and troubleshooting help thus far. At least at this point I think I might be able to use this for day-to-day coding, even though I really want the remote server system to work correctly so I can use the step debugger feature again.

  • Grey blank installation screen after clicking on the ColdFusion dmg file on Mac 10.8.6

    Hi All,
I am trying to install either ColdFusion 9 (which is where company is using) or 10 (if I can't have 9) on my Mac 10.8.6. When I click on the dmg file, it shows a running bar and once it's completed, i see a standard installation box (the one you click "agree" "nect" etc...) except there is nothing showing on the box. There is a blue "next" button but I can't click on it. This happens to both ColdFusion 9 and 10 installation. With 9 though, I get a centaur_err file.
This is very urgent as I cannot work without ColdFusion. I would really appreciate your suggestions.
    Thank you,
    Jennfer

    Hi Anit,
I saw that techinical specification too. But there is a different specification when you are on the download page that says
    Mac OS
    Intel® Pentium® 4 processor
    Mac OS X v10.6.x, v10.7, v10.8
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
    500MB of available hard-disk space
    DVD-ROM drive
There is another article that mentions Mac 10.8 http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-10-update-8.html
I am not sure which one is correct but I really need to have this installed. Thanks.

  • Mac OS X 10.9 ColdFusion Builder 2

I would like to know if anyone has any issues installing or using ColdFusion Builder 2 since the recent release of the new version of Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

    Hi,
Thanks so much for your post.
Well today I re-installed Flash Builder 4 & ColdFusion Builder(as I got the student licence). I fist installed Flash Builder 4, and then I installed ColdFusion Builder as a plugin into Flash Builder 4, and it works!
I am so happy. Maybe I should of tried the eclipse way again, but I heard many people on twitter saying this way worked for them with no issues, and it did for me too, I am so happy
thanks so much for your help,

  • ODBC Socket datasource not available on Mac install of ColdFusion 8

We are trying to download ColdFusion 8 on a Mac Intel Server
to connect to a FileMaker Pro 8 database. The datasources does not
include the ODBC Socket choice which is what I have to use to
connect to the database. Am I installing something wrong or what?
It does show up if I download it on a PC, but not on the Mac.
    HELP!!

    The odbc client/server app that ColdFusion 8 ( and mx6 &
mx7) uses to make ODBC connections is a windows only application.
Therefore ODBC socket is only available on windows. You will not
find it on linux, unix or mac versions.
FileMaker 9 appears to supply both ODBC and JDBC drivers.
Perhaps earlier versions do, too. Use a JDBC connection to connect
    to filemaker as described
    here.

  • ColdFusion 8 on a MAC Server

    Hello,
We have been using ColdFusion on Windows and Unix servers
since its birth. Due to internal reasons, we are now considering
moving all or part of our CF applications to a MAC server. As far
as I know CF8 Enterprise edition on a MAC has only recently
received full support. Yet, it is not supported on Leopard. Also,
it does not look like mulitple instances of CF are supported on a
    MAC server (
    http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/pdfs/cf8_multiple_instances_wp.pdf)
. I have not been able to find any place with consolidated
information about supported and unsupported features, performance
and bug reports for CF 8 on a MAC. I would greatly appreciate if
you could share your experiences and if possible answer the
    following questions.
    1. What functionality available in the Enterprise edition of
CF8 on Windows/Unix is not available/or limited on a MAC?
    2. What serious bugs/problems have been reported on a MAC
platform? How severity and frequency of the reported bugs compare
    to the Windows/Sun platforms?
    3. How does a MAC version handling heavy-duty database
    (Oracle) applications?
    4. Could you share some examples and experiences of deploying
CF8 on a MAC in a serious production environment?
    5. What would be your recommendations regarding hardware for
pretty involved database applications with mostly data retrieval
activities handling hundreds of thousands records.
Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi there,
    I cannot have coldfusion running.
I didn't have the "start" feature when I finished installing
    it.
Then I launched the application and here is the message I get
    when starting Coldfusion.

    Hello,
Thanks for the effort but none of these options are working
    for me.
I have to admit that I'm not a programmer. So please the
explanation should be for a guy like me.
Even in these conditions, I've spent hours and managed to
make it the way you explained as well as others but no luck.
I'm very frustrated especially when I read the comments it
seems like I'm the only one with no luck.
I finally uninstalled Coldfusion and reinstalled it and hit
    the same issue.
At the end of the installation the window the "launch the
configuration wizard in a browser window" is greyed out.
When I launch coldfusionLauncher I get this again:
    Running command: /Applications/ColdFusionMX7/bin/coldfusion

    Starting ColdFusion MX 7...
The ColdFusion MX 7 server is starting up and will be
    available shortly.
There has been an error starting ColdFusion MX 7, please
    check the logs.
On top of the manipulation in the terminal, I've changed the
my J2SE 1.4.2 defaut start through the Java Preferences.
    Help please. ;-(
Thank you again for taking the time.

  • ColdFusion Builder with case sensitive file system on Mac?

    Hi there,
I tried to install CF Builder on my MacBook Pro (Intel), OS-X 10.5.7 with case sensitive file system. Installation went smoothly, but, when I try to launch CF Builder, I get an error saying that the "architecture is not supported". Is it just nor possible to have CF Builder on a case sensitive fs?
    Thank you
    Chris

I am having the same issue and logged in here to see what the deal is.
After I installed cfbuilder my flex builder crapped out as well.
The cfbuilder logs (which were conveniently scattered throughout my system for no reason) report that I am running:
    java.vm.version               == 1.5.0_19-137
But if I run "java -version" in terminal I get:
    daves-macbook-pro-2:~ Dave$ java -version
    java version "1.6.0_13"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03-211)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.3-b02-83, mixed mode)
"Is JDK 1.5 available in the system"
    Definale "available"...
    Does it exist? yes
Is it set to default? no
