  • CFHTTP and Scheduled Tasks not working after CF8 Upgrade

    I have recently upgraded to ColdFusion 8. My scheduled tasks
    in the ColdFusion Administrator do not work anymore. I ran them
    manually without the ColdFusion Administrator from the server and a
    local machine via Internet Explorer 7 and they work. I tried to run
    the same scheduled task with the same URL via CFHTTP in a CFM page
    and this does not work. The logs are not giving me any error
    messages. Has anyone run into this? Is this a bug with CF8 or even
    an IIS issue? ColdFusion is on a Windows 2003 SP2 server.
    Thanks,

    Hi Experts,
    I have coded a schedule task, using the plugin approach, the steps i have followed are:
    1. Created the custom code jar
    2. Created plugin.xml
    the above 2 files are added in plugin and registerd in OIM
    3. Created the task.xml and registered in MDSWhile creating the job i could see it shows up in the tasks but when i executed thejob it is giving me below error:
    I tried putting it in using UploadJars.sh utility and placed thejar in schedule tasks folder but did not work.
    An error occurred while loading the plugin class. Class null was not found.
    Please provide help this is really urgent!!
    thanks

  • Windows 2003 server scheduled tasks not work properly. Please help.

    I created a couple of windows shell scripting programs. When I call them from command line, it works well. Then I use Task Scheduler to schedule them to be run daily. The strange thing is: If I log into server and open Task Scheduler window. The scheduled tasks will run automatically and execute with result code 0x0. It works well. However, if I just set up Task Scheduler and log out of the server, the scheduled works will not run with result code 0x80. Here is the log info
    "programname-parametername.job" (programname.cmd)
     Started 1/28/2010 11:20:00 PM
    "programname-parametername.job" (programname.cmd)
     Finished 1/28/2010 11:20:00 PM
     Result: The task completed with an exit code of (80).
    I used windows adminstrator account, not system account to schedule the work. I changed scheduled work to be run by my admin account, not by system account. Please advise me where is the problem and how to fix it. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Polarisws,
    According to your description, I understand that your scheduled task did not run when the user is not logged in the system.
    Please go to the services.msc and select the "task Scheduler" service, double-click it and go to "Log On" page, enable the option "allow service to interact with desktop" and test the result.

    Hello,
    I tried "Edit" the GTC connector and "SAVE" the connector back without doing any editing. I hope that will not cause any difference in the deployed corresponding GTC schedule task which used to work earlier.
    Anyways, i also checked the trusted source database and populated some new values in there and tried reconciling again (incremental reconciliation configured). Surprisingly i see some new error in the logs. Is this because of the unnecessary "Edit" operation i performed ?

  • Schedule tasks not working for SSL.

    I am running CF11 using Tomcat 7 and jdk1.7.0_45.  I have non-SSL sites that execute the exact same task fine.  However for my SSL enabled sites, the task will not run.  Does anyone have an idea as to what is causing this?

    I can confirm that cfschedule does work with SSL and yes you will need to import the certificate or root certificate into your certificate store if it is not one issued by a "well known" provider that the jre supports. The gotcha is that the certificate domain must match the server name used in the cfschedule call. For us this meant that our www.domain.com cert did not work, even after importing, for https://127.0.0.1/... To fix this we created a hosts file entry so the request didn't have to round trip outside the box.

  • GPO Preference Scheduled task not working

    Hi,
    System info: Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7
    I created a group policy object which switches off automatically all client PCs at 2AM everyday.
    But this did not work..the task is running as domain admin.
    I have checked GP result and that setting was applied successfully.
    Are there other ways to troubleshoot this issues?

    > So far in my experience, GP Modeling always help me to troubleshoot why

    Skip Modeling, use Resultant Report :) And gpupdate - if neccessary at
    all - has to be run on the client.

  • Scheduled Tasks Not working

    Hi All,
    I have an scheduled tasks on windows server 2008 standard, Which were working fine from couple of years.
    Now we are facing the issue of skipping the tasks without any error in history tab.
    " Next Run Time " is getting updated But the "Last Run Time" is in hold.
    We had tried troubleshooting following steps:
    1) Firstly, Windows update was cancelled & Restarted the server (Tasks started working fine with the End Result for 2 Days then Stopped)
    2)Deleted all the tasks & scheduled the tasks again then restarted (Tasks started working again with the final outcome for few days then Stopped Issue started again)
    Now we are confused and searched many Forums but we didn't find the solution.
    We have 7 Tasks which triggers an .EXE File. It Runs Manually & do the process.
    I have seen this System Task Running always "Certificate Services Client automatically manages digital identities such as Certificates, Keys and Credentials for the users and the machine, enabling enrollment,
    roaming and other services" is this might be the reason..
    Need the solution ASAP, I request all pro's to find me a solution.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Please check if there is a "CertificateServiceClient" in Task Scheduler.
    As you suspect it is the cause, test to disable "Certificate Services Client service" in Services.msc to see if issue still exists.
    If it is related, try to Increase the interval of SystemTask and UserTask under "CertificateServiceClient" in Task Scheduler to see if issue is affected.

  • Exchange 2010 task scheduled scripts not working if not logged on

    Hi All,
    I have done a script for Exchange 2010 and I would like to create a scheduled task for it.

    If I do it with a service account (local admin, exchange org admin) it works only when:
    -You run the script for an interactive session of the user or a runas cmd
    -You set the Task as “Run only when the user is logged on” (and the user is logged on)
    If I run the Task as “Run whether user is logged on or not” and the user is not logged on, I get an error on the connection command "Connect-ExchangeServer -auto" (and the task hangs waiting for an answer). The transcript is as follows:
    Transcript started, output file is C:\scripts\informes\pruebasconexion.Log.txt

    Tip of the day #31:
    Tab completion reduces the number of keystrokes required to complete a cmdlet. Just press the TAB key to complete the cmdlet you are typing. Tab completion kicks in whenever there is a hyphen (-) in the input. For example:
     Get-Send<tab>
    should complete to Get-SendConnector. You can even use wildcards, such as:
     Get-U*P*<tab>
    Pressing the TAB key when you enter this command cycles through all cmdlets that match the expression, such as the Unified Messaging Mailbox policy cmdlets.

    I experienced a similar symptom where the scheduled task was getting stuck in the "Running" state. I searched the web for others who have experienced this issue with scheduled tasks, and what I found is that there could be a few reasons why
    this might happen.
    I resolved my problem by adding -NonInteractive switch before the -command parameter.
    Hope it helps...
    In my case, -NonInteractive does indeed stop the task from getting stuck in a perpetual Running state (until it times out based on the settings in scheduled task), but I was able to deduce why by using Start-Transcript and Stop-Transcript.
    Basically, the connection to Exchange is failing some reason and it sits at a prompt waiting for you to enter a FQDN for an Exchange server (same problem as the OP).  Adding -NonInteractive to the scheduled task does indeed prevent the task from getting
    stuck waiting for someone to enter a FQDN at a prompt that they cannot interact with, the script still does not execute correctly.  Essentially, adding the "-NonInteractive" switch does not fix the underlying problem of the Exchange connection
    failing.
    As far as I am able to tell, this has something do with a WinRM problem.  I'm having the same problem as the OP and am trying to troubleshoot it.  In my case, deleting the user profile for the service account does not fix the problem.

  • Scheduled Tasks Stop Working Suddenly

    We have ColdFusion 10 installed on Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7.5.
    We are running one additional instance of Coldfusion seperate from the cfusion instance but on the same physical server. Our scheduled tasks, on this instance, had been running without any problems for quite some time now. Suddenly about 3 weeks ago after a server reboot our tasks stopped running. We have tried everything including writing the output to a log file. The only thing that gets written to this log file is "Connection Failed".
    Driling down into some of the other CF logs we are seeing that the job is getting triggered and then the job starts but it never gets completed.
    Nov 6, 2013 16:01:00 PM Information [DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-6] - Task DEFAULT.sampleTask triggered.
    Nov 6, 2013 16:01:00 PM Information [DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-6] - Starting HTTP request {URL='https://ru.ryerson.ca:443/ryecast/myTask.cfm', method='get'}
    The weird thing is that if we create the same task in the instance manager (cfusion) on the same server pointing to the same .cfm file it works fine. So we know the script does work - just not in the ColdFusion Instance we need to work in.
    Here is the successful log entry from cfusion logs.
    Nov 6, 2013 16:01:00 PM Information [DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-6] - Task DEFAULT.sampleTask triggered.
    Nov 6, 2013 16:01:00 PM Information [DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-6] - Starting HTTP request {URL='https://ru.ryerson.ca:443/ryecast/myTask.cfm', method='get'}
    Nov 6, 2013 16:01:00 PM Information [DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-6] - HTTP request completed  {Status Code=200 ,Time taken=124 ms}
    Has anyone else experience this kind of behaviour and if so is there a fix? I suspect some kind of corruption with the QuartzScheduler.

    Hi Marko,
    Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
    I'm having the same problem, but am running CF on redhat linux.
    I too think it's something with quartz getting itself tied in knots.
    In my http.log I can see the same as you, the task is triggered but it never completes. The strange thing I have found is that sometimes just resaving a task is enough to start it again.
    Here's the thread I started http://forums.adobe.com/message/5811970#5811970
    Cheers

  • Coldfusion Scheduled Tasks Problem

    Hello--
    I am experiencing a strange problem. In a product that my office has created, we make use of Scheduled Tasks in Coldfusion. All of our clients are working just fine with the exception of one. There are several Tasks that all should behave the same way. The task starts, it writes to a log file that it is starting, it processes what it needs to process, it writes to the log file that it is done.
    Here is the problem we are having:
    Scheduled task is scheduled to run at 3:00am daily. Task will run the first time through without any problems, and sometimes will run a second time without any problems. But, normally, the second time the task starts, the log file we have generated is not updated at all. The timestamp stays the same, so no action has been done to the file. Further, the Task doesn't do any of the process it should. In addition, the JRun process hangs, taking up 99%-100% of CPU and stays that way until the server is restarted. The Coldfusion scheduler.log says that the task has executed. Nothing else is recorded in any of the other Coldfusion logs.
    This is a problem that has been reoccurring consistently for the past month with all scheduled tasks. I have spent hours on the phone with the client to debug the issue. All of the Coldfusion settings match between their environment and ours. The server setup is similar to our own server. Server is a VM with 2x3.3GHz processors and 2GB of RAM.
    Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, or help? At this point, I'm at a complete and total loss and any help would be much appreciated...

    Well that's all good news, in a way.
    OK, so in the test environment stop CF, blitz all the CF and JRun logs, start it, run the script via a browser, run it again.  Inspect logs.
    I can't believe nothing goes into the logs.
    And do you have a <cflog> entry as the very first line of code in the script file?  And that log entry never gets made?
    If the <cflog> entry never shows up, put an Application.cfm file in the same dir as the script, with a single <cflog> entry in it.  Does that <cflog> entry get made?

  • KM Scheduler task not listed

    Hello Experts.
    I've made a simple custom KM Scheduler task, but am unable to see it under System Configuration -> cm -> global services -> Scheduler Tasks. I've trawled the forum for leads, read blogs but have been unable to resolve what should be a straightfoward issue.
    I've used NWDS Wizard to create the project. Renamed the wrapper interface and class to avoid a conflict. Updated portalapp.xml to reflect this. Restarted portal twice, no luck.
    Here's my portalapp.xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <application>
         <application-config>
              <property name="SharingReference" value="usermanagement, knowledgemanagement, landscape, htmlb, exportalJCOclient, exportal"/>
         </application-config>
           <components/>
           <services>
                <service name="ArchiverService">
                     <service-config>
                          <property name="className" value="com.sap.netweaver.rf.wrapper.RFServiceWrapperArchiver"/>
                          <property name="startup" value="true"/>
                     </service-config>
                </service>
           </services>
    </application>
    RFServiceWrapperArchiver is the name of the wrapper class. In it, I set a key, expert.no.services.Archiver which corresponds to the class I have that implements ISchedulerTask. Nothing fancy in this class.
    package expert.no.services;
    import java.util.Properties;
    import com.sap.netweaver.rf.wrapper.IRFServiceWrapperArchiver;
    import com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntime;
    import com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.IServiceProfile;
    import com.sapportals.wcm.service.scheduler.ISchedulerTask;
    public class Archiver implements ISchedulerTask {
         private String  Channel_Root = "";
         private com.sapportals.portal.prt.logger.ILogger logger = com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntime.getLogger();
         //public Archiver(){}
         public Archiver() {
         super();
         public void run(String id, Properties properties) {
              // implement the tasks to be scheduled
              logger.severe("expert.no.services.Archiver","Archiver has been started");
         private void getServiceProperties() {
              IServiceProfile serviceProfile = PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(IRFServiceWrapperArchiver.KEY).getContext().getServiceProfile();
              Channel_Root = serviceProfile.getProperty("Channel_Root");
              logger.severe("expert.no.services.Archiver","Channel root is: "+Channel_Root);
              //serviceProfile.setProperty(key, value);
              //serviceProfile.store();
    I have checked for the presence of the co.xml and cc.xml and everything is fine there as well

    Problem solved. For some reason the configarchive.properties file was not added to the NWDI project. Did an Export and this prompted me to add it.
    I now get an message that this has an invalid name, but at least I have something to work with.
