ColdFusion Builder won't start at all

After installing Coldfusion Builder and Flash Builder as standalone installations on WinXP, I can't start either of them.
In the Coldfusion Builder folder where the the .exe is located, I get the hs_pid.log log files that you would normally see from a problem in eclipse. I get the same exact problem with Flash Builder with the same hs error logs after the program fails. Obviously they are suffering the same problem and the root of the problem is the embedded eclipse they are using.
Any ideas? I realize that it would be difficult to debug considering the complete lack of details about why the apps fail. That's due to Adobe offering no user feedback when they fail.
My guess is that it's a problem with the JRE in the installs, but there's no debugging info to find out what is going on. When I try FlashBuilderC.exe standalone, I get the following:
C:\Program Files\Adobe>"Adobe Flash Builder 4\FlashBuilderC.exe"
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#  Internal Error (os_windows.cpp:3266), pid=19764, tid=26520

I can run Flashbuilder as an eclipse plugin, and I suspect that I could run CFBuilder as a plugin also but that's not really what I want to do. It's just frustrating that products that cost thousands of dollars fail silently, offer no recovery, and won't run at all from a fresh standalone install.

I'm using 1.6 for my Java stuff and for the plugin versions of CFB and FB4. Each builder standalone has it's own JRE which appears to be the same version (except for FB4 which is only a couple builds off). Both builders reference the same internal error file os_windows.cpp. As I mentioned earlier, both IDEs are currently running fine as eclipse plugins in my home directory.

  • Coldfusion Builder won't start on Vista

Recently I had to upgrade to Vista.  Now Coldfusion builder won't start.  Attached is the configuration log file.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling CF Builder with no luck.  This is the standalone version.  Any help appreciated.

I think I've figured it out.  It had to do with permissions on the Coldfusion Builder folder in Program Files.  Coldfusion Builder would run as administrator, but not as a User.  I had to allow write permissions on that directory.  I don't know if this is an eclipse thing or a Coldfusion Builder thing, but in windows a program should not require write permissions on it's install folder in order to run.  If it needs to write something, it should do it under the users profile.  I would consider this a bug.
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • I killed a MacBook Pro. Shutdown with flash in drive and now it won't start at all.

I may have killed my MacBook Pro OS X by accidentally restarting  with  a Flash Drive it it and now it won't start at all.  Any ideas?

So it is powering on. You did not state that before. In that case:
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Also see this if above doesn't work:
    Install OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should install the original version of OS X that came on the machine.

  • ITunes kept freezing and now it won't start at all

It all started when I downloaded an iTune U class that contained a lot of videos and chose to download all old episodes. It turned out there so many that it would take 25 hours. I tried to abort the downloads, but apparently that messed something up.
First iTunes started up normally, tried to download "83 items" and then started to freeze up after a minute. I had to shut it down via the Task Manager.
Then it got worse, and now it won't start at all. After I click on the icon to open iTunes (I have Windows 8) the screen turns white, the blue wheel spins and nothing happens. When I hold the cursor over the iTunes icon in the task bar I can see two preview tiles (one for Download and one for iTunes itself), but both are blank (all white) and nothing happens - the blue wheel will spin forever. What do I do?
I do have the latest version of iTunes. If I uninstall and reinstall iTunes, will that solve the problem? And will the content of my library still be there?  Thanks!

    Hello, J Appleseed.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can try an uninstall and reinstall of iTunes to see if that resolves the issue.  Your iTunes library will not be deleted by doing this.  However, this issue could be a result of multiple issues so an uninstall/reinstall may not resolve this.  Below, I have included the best articles that will help you isolate and possibly correct this issue.  Process each step and test the results after each step processed.

  • 17" Macbook Pro won't start at all.  I shut it down last night at 80% and now there is only black screen, no light, no sound.  What to do?

My 17" Macbook Pro won't start at all.  I shut it down last night at 80% and today I get only a black screen with no sound, no light, nothing.  The power cord light does show orange when plugged in.  I don't know exactly which OS it is. It's model # A1286. I've tried all the tips about holding down different keys to no avail.  Anyother ideas?  (The serial # is w8******agu if that helps.)  Many thanks.
    <Edited By Host>

I had the exact same issue...  Macbook Pro late 2008 with Core2Duo.  Went to all the steps suggested in the knowledge base, tried to reset the SMC, but to no avail.   Took it to the Macstore in Mexico, the wanted to replace logic board for $800....  Finally, I sent it to a logic board repair service, where they "fixed"  the logic board for $200.  It worked perfectly for 4 months, then happened again
Any ideas??  I would appreciate any help!!!!!

  • If the system won't start at all

    I have just purchased a MSI K8Neo 2 FX S939 motherboard second hand. I have installed a AMD 64 3200+ CPU and two 256M DDR333 memory modules
and a NVIDIA 6600GT 256M DDR3 videocard on it. These components worked prior on another motherboard. Now the system won't start at all.
The following observations has been made.
    1) All fans start to spin including CPU fan videocard fan and the fan on the mb chip and the power LED lits up.
    2) Nothing else happens. No display no sound from the internal PC speaker.
    3) If I press the reset button nothing happens at all
    4) I must press the power button for several seconds to turn of the power from the system
    5) The mobo was not delivered in a ESD bag but wrapped in towels. Does that make ESD damage likely?
What conclusions can be made from that? My own opinion is that the CPU never starts working. Otherwise shouldn't there be some beep from the PC speaker when an error is detected? I have carefully checked all connections

    Q-Tec PSU.
You are wasting your and our time untill you get rid of that piece of garbage, you are lucky anything at all worked with it.
Buy a real PSU, not a wanna-be like Q-Tec. For that PC a Corsair CX400W (+12~30A) 0r VX450W (+12V~33A) would be good. If you might need more power for the future you might want to consider on of the Corsair TX series or PC P & C 610W or 750W. Whatever you do don't get a cheap PSU, get one you can depend on.
Yes I know I shouldn't ask much of a Qtec PSU but I doubt that it is the reason for this problem. Even a QTec should be able to let the speaker make a beep sound at least. My current MSI setup require rather little power. Got no PCI cards or USB units. Only one harddrive and one DVD Rom. According to the web power supply calculator I need a little bit over 200W and the PSU you suggests would be expensive

  • Satellite L30 PSL33E won't start at all - LED flashes six times

    Hello,
My poor mother is quite distraught! Her Satellite L30 PSL33E has just died.
It completely shut down and now won't start at all.
Orange light flashes six times when the power button is pressed.
No hard drive, fan, screen or any other noise / activity.
She has tried it without the battery.
Some sort of hardware failure I imagine.
Any ideas what this blink code means?
    Thanks in advance,
    D.

I dont know what the code means but you can read it; short means 0 and long means 1
Anyway, the error code means that an hardware fault was detected on the motherboard and only the motherboard replacement could help you?
    Why?
because is really hard to repair a notebooks motherboard.
Its mostly not possible if you dont have enough knowledge, experience and special tools.
I think either you will contact the ASP in your country and will ask for a fix or you will have to buy a new notebook ;(

  • Satellite P300-13M won't start at all

    Hello everybody,
my Satellite P300 - 13M with product number PSPC4E won't start at all!
When I put down my screen, it automatically goes in hibernation mode. But the last time I did this was just too much apparently.. I've ejected my battery and put the adapter in to see if it would start. Negative. I've put the battery back and ejected the adapter. Negative. I've connected both the battery and adapter. Negative, no result at all.
Does this mean the end of my laptop?
Please help me as fast you guys can because this is my only working laptop.
    Many thanks
Ps if you want specifications, then i cannot give you them. I don't know the specs by heart.

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there but if there is no reaction at all Im afraid mainboard is death.
In my opinion repair is probably not the solution. New motherboard costs a lot of money. Either you can find used one, maybe refurbished and exchange it or sell notebook on eBay and buy new one.

  • Satellite Pro 2100 won't start at all - LED start flashing

My SP2100 has started having power problems, and now won't start at all. The AC adapter green LED is on, as are the relevant lights on the laptop body (although the 'battery charging' light always stays orange these days). When I attempt switch on, boot up starts (and has in fact been successful on occasion until this morning), however the battery indicator and the adapter lights start flashing, and everything shuts down again.
On the rare occasions when I get past this stage, the lights keep flashing, and the system soon shuts down again with a 'low battery' screen message. Until this morning, it would sometimes settle down, the computer stayed on, and the lights showed a steady state as normal.
I initially thought that the problem was obviously the battery or the AC adapter, but now I'm beginning to think that it lies with laptop's internal power adapter (although I suspect that the battery is probably shot following all this part charging and discharging).
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
I think you are right. Flashing LEDs are a sign that some hardware is faulty.
I can't say what's exactly the problem, this should be checked by a technicain.
On the other side I'm not sure if it is worth to repair such an old machine.
    Bye

  • Pavilion G6-1b59wm won't start at all

Good day .. I have a Pavilion G6 that won't start at all when the power button is pushed. I've tried it on battery only, and with the power cord plugged in. Yet nothing.
Here is what I see: When the power cord is plugged in, the power LED next to the port is white. I press the power button and it momentarily flashes white (and the F12 LED flashes). Nothing else happens. No other LEDs lite, and the screen remains black.
    DIagnostic steps followed:
    1. Battery was removed, and unit unplugged. Power button held for 30 seconds, and plugged back in. Nothing.
    2. Battery removed and unit plugged into the wall. Power button pushed and nothing.
    3. Tried a different power cord, different battery .. nothing
    4. Removed the RAM boards, power button pushed .. nothing
    5. Removed the hard drive (RAM still uninstalled), power button pushed .. nothing
    Any further suggestions ?

  • MacBook won't start at all - dead

My MacBook won't start AT ALL - nothing, nada, zip.
I press the power button and nothing happens at all - no sound, no lights, no movement.
I have tried taking out battery and unplugging it, then pressing power button for 5 seconds, then inserting battery and plugging back in (as per Apple's kb note). This doesn't help.
[OK I was trying to upgrade the hard drive - original hard drive is now back in the MacBook]
    Any ideas?

OK I took my MacBook to the guys at Streetwise in Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn (we are talking Melbourne Australia here).
Incredibly helpful - the genius there diagnosed a dislodged cable between the top board (keyboard and housing) and the main body. He thought I had dislodged it trying to change over the hard drive.
In any case, he straightened things out, reseated the cable and voila, its all working.
Hard drive upgraded too using Carbon Copy Cloner.
