ColdFusion on Windows 2003 SP2

I am going to run windows updates on some very old Windows
boxes, which are running ColdFusion6.1 and 7.
This may be critical so want to know about any issues that
may creep up at nth hour.
Any help from Zillions of NetiZens out there
Bro..

I dind't have any problems if the updates were applied to a
server already running CF. However, the installer CF7 has a lot of
problems installing on 2k3 sp2. The silent install method works,
but not the standard installer. If you're just applying the updates
to existing servers with CF already installed, you should be
fine.

  • 11.1.0.1.0 GC certification with Windows 2003 SP2

The certification guide shows GC 11.1.0.1.0 certified for Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003 R2; Windows 2003 (32 bit) with SP2/R2+, Windows7
Confirmation required is GC 11.1.0.1.0 is also certified for Windows 2003 SP2 or we require Win 2003 R2 min

Its certified on 2003 SP2 as well.

  • Windows 2003 SP2 servers migrating from IIS 6.0 to IIS 7.5 without upgrading to Windows 2008 R2

I have 3 Windows 2003 SP2 servers running IIS 6.0 and my client wants to upgrade to IIS 7.5 without having to upgrade the OS to Windows 2008 R2. Is this possible?
    Thanks

No I'm afraid not. The full versions of IIS depend on the OS, so IIS6 on 2003, IIS7 on 2008, IIS7.5 on 2008 R2.
The Express version of IIS can be installed on 2003 but that's for developers only so no use in your situation.
Also worth nothing in terms of upgrading, unless your 2003 installation is 64-bit then you can only do an in place upgrade to 2008 IIS7. There's no 32-bit option with 2008 R2, and no way to do an in place upgrade between 32-bit and 64-bit, so if you really
need to upgrade to IIS 7.5 then your only option would be to start with a new install and then migrate the websites from one server to another.

  • RDP Hotfix for Windows 2003 SP2

What is the latest RDP hotfix for Windows 2003 SP2, we are having issues when we want the server to reboot and it just hangs.  I remember that there was an hotfix for this issue.  Our workaround is to use a remote shutdown command.
I believe they was an post-SP2 that kinda of helped in most cases.
    Thanks in advance.

Sometimes, the clean-boot (MSCONFIG) will helps you to isolate the issue that might be caused by the third party software.

  • ColdFusion 8 -  Windows 2003 R2 w/ IIS6

Installed ColdFusion 8 several times on a Windows 2003 Server
(Enterprise Edition r2) running IIS 6 and I'm unable to get the
admin console to come up after the installation. The system was
configured during the installation to work with "All" IIS web
applications on the machine. I have granted "full control" to the
    cf_root/runtime/lib/wsconfig directory to local users IIS_WPG &
IUSR_xxxxxx and I’m still getting the following error:
HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an
ACL set on the requested resource.
The log file after the installation indicated no errors. Is
there anything else I can try to resolve this opportunity? I
installed the development edition of ColdFusion 8 and I had not
issues whatsoever on a Windows XP machine, SP2. Please help.... I
have three servers to get up and running soon....

by default the admin console would be in
inetpub\wwwroot\cfide\administrator - did you correct the
    permission there?
Incidentally on a clean install on Windows I've never seen
any permissions issue when trying to load the administrator
assuming a default configuration of CF.
You're not installing it on a 64 bit server are you by any
    chance?

  • Windows 2003 SP2 upgrade question in regards to OSS 30478

We are currently running our production system on a windows 2003 sp1 two-node cluster with SQL 2005.
I would like to get it upgraded to SP2, but I have a question on OSS note 30478.
There is a sentence in there stating:
-Special features with Service Packs for Windows Server 2003 in the cluster:
Service Pack 2: Before you import Support Package on platform x86_64, you must replace SAP resource DLL on both cluster nodes with the most current version.
Can someone elaborate on "replace SAP resources DLL on both cluster nodes"?
Does that just mean I need to upgrade the Kernel to the latest version?
It seems to be a fairly bold statement with very vague instructions.  Anyways any guidance would be appreciated.

  • Windows 2003 SP2 = 2008 R2 SP1 Upgrade 62% Rollback

    Hello,
we have to upgrade our Windows Server 2003 SP2 x64 (DC), to Windows 2008 R2 SP1.
Unfortunately, a clean install is not an option.
The server is a virtual machine. Therefore, first we make a clone, for a test upgrade, of the server.
Adprep and domainprep was successful. Problematic Software: Acronis, DaemonTools, Kasperksy.. is uninstalled.
Will upgraded with a clean iso, downloaded from the VLSC.
All Windows 2003 updates have been installed and a clean-boot (msconfig : MS services, no startup items), was done.
During the upgrade, we download the installation updates (Get important updates for installation).
The environment variable MIG_UPGRADE_IGNORE_PLUGINS = IphlpsvcMigPlugin.dll was already tried in another upgrade.
    We have the setupact.log (33MB) from the \$Windows folder.~ BT\Sources\Panther\ . But can't found the error.
    The Upgrade stops at 62%:
Then the server reboots and performs a rollback :
    What can we do?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
Stopped at 62% is a common issue which could be caused by many factors.
First I suggest you to remove all unnecessary devices like printer, USB device etc.
Also try to uninstall drivers for hardware devices. I noticed that many applications are already deleted in troubleshooting process so check if any unnecessary program still exists.
If issue still exists, try check disk and SFC.
The last option is to perform an in-place upgrade with Windows Server 2003 and try the 2008 upgrade again.

    I solved my problem.
Solution dont forget to clean all ocr and voting disk using storage software .Oracle clean log utility does not clean all data or other things in disk volumes.
You must use storage clean utlity or rebuild your volume in storage software.

  • Hyperion 6.1 with Windows 2003 SP2?

We are trying to upgrade our production servers from windows 2003 SP1 - SP2. These server have Hyperion 6.1 installed on them. I just wanted to know if this would have any impact this version of Hyperion. I personally wouldn't have thought so but I just wanted to check.

Its certified on 2003 SP2 as well.

  • Active Directory, Windows 2003 SP2 Server and SMB shares

I have 10 new iMacs that will be returned and exchanged for 10 HP wintels if I can't resolve an issue with SMB shares in Mac OS X 10.4.9.
We had an old win 2000 server, and all the macs could mount their smb shares without problems.
Recently we upgraded to two new 2003 sp2 servers, one of them the domain controller, and we can't mount their SMB shares. I followed this http://weblog.bignerdranch.com/?p=6&page=3 and/or this http://allinthehead.com/retro/218/accessing-a-windows-2003-share-from-os-x to allow AD authentication, but still, I can't mount the 2003 shares (but can with the 2000 ones!!!).
If I enable SFM (services for macintosh) then I can mount the shares, but:
    1) the network is slower (I supouse is due to appletalk implementation)
    2) and worse, names with more than 32 characters or with some special characters are not allowed. This renders 30% of our archives unavailable with the AFP solution.
I also used all the authentication methods (Plain text apple, plain text windows, etc.) but no one works.
I have now 10 days to find a solution, or all "my" macs will dissapear forever.
Please, some advice or point to documentation.
G4, G5, iMac Intel, Mac Book Pro, etc   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Do you just want to mount arbitrary share from the win servers or do you want the macs to be bound to AD?
The first requires the steps from your second link (allinthehead.com) but the latter (bind to AD) requires things like proper use of DNS, time synchronisation for kerberos to work and proper configuration as described in your first link (bignerdranch.com).
Here are some more links for the latter (AD intergration):

    I have installed the following prerequisites:.Net Framework 3.5 SP1, KB969166 and KB969429.

I appreciate you guys taking the time to respond, I just wonder if you read the details of my question?  I have specifically stated that the above hotfix
is installed along with the other prerequisite that the Install Guide mentions.  Furthermore I have not only checked the log but posted it for review.
I'm thinking the above advice is almost automated, it is the same as I found in numerous searches.  The problem I have here is I DID read the manual, have done what it says and still get this error.
This morning I reinstalled the hotfixes  and tried the install again.  Here is the log from today:
Please note the bolded line, it seems there is some registry value being checked but I don't know what so I can fix it.

  • DPM 2012 R2 UR2 and Windows 2003 SP2 Agent Version Issue

Hi All, I have UR2 installed on my DPM 2012 R2 server and have followed Mike's guide on getting them protected:

The agents now show in the DPM console but display as needing an update and showing as agent version 4.1.3313.0 instead of 4.1.3441.0, which is odd.
    Servers have:
    .Net 3.5 Sp1 Full
    Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17
    From the DPM server:

    Executed:
    setdpmserver.exe -dpmservername DPMserverName
    From the DPM server:
Attach-ProductionServer.ps1 script on the DPM server and refreshed twice
    What have I missed?

    Hi.
    Reboot your 2003 Server
Run DPM Setup again on Server 2003
    Run setdpmserver.exe again
    click refresh in DPM Server
    worked for me

  • LMS2.5 and Windows 2003 SP2

    Hi,
Does someone knows if exist a problem o consideration to take care with the installation of the SP2 (Win 2003 Server) in a LMS2.5 Server?
Actually the server has Win 2003 Server w/SP1.

If you are upgrading to SP2, you should take LMS datebase backup and you may need to re-install the LMS software.

    Hi folks,
I am getting an installation Error when trzing to install the Preview Version of CE7.1
Installation will terminate in Step 28 of 34 with the Message
PerfTimes : loadNativeLayer: loading jperflib failed. no jperflib in java.library.path
Anz Ideas how to terminate the Installation_
    Best Regards
    Chris

    Hi,
I solved the issue bye updating jvm manually. Both jspm and update manager didn't update successfully.
    Thanl you for your support.
Resolution (to support adobe document services for my specific instalaltion)
Check JVM version in Netweaver u2013 open file
    c:\usr\sap\<NWinstance>\<NWnumber>\exe\sapjvmmanifest.mf. See SAP JVM version
    (e.g. sapjvm version: 5.1.055)
If SAP JVM version is earlier than 5.1.0.55 apply the patch from SAP Note 1469491:
    1) Download patched JVM from the link provided in SAP Note 1469491 for
    required platform
    2) Unpack downloaded SAR archive using Netweaver SAPCAR tool
    3) Check JVM version and platform in file sapjvmmanifest.mf. E.g.
    sapjvm os: NTintel
    sapjvm version: 5.1.055
u201Csapjvm osu201D should be the same as in the installed NW JVM u2013 see file
    c:\usr\sap\<NWinstance>\<NWnumber>\exe\sapjvmmanifest.mf
    4) Stop Netweaver services
    5) Substitute Netweaver JVM folders
    c:\usr\sap\<NWinstance>\<NWnumber>\exe\sapjvm_5 and
    c:\usr\sap\<NWinstance>\SYS\exe\jvm\NTI386\sapjvm_5.1.0xx by SAP JVM
    from the patch package
    6) Start Netweaver services
