Connection Verification Failed!
When putting in a valid setting for "Mail Server" and tick "Verify mail server connection", Connection Verification Failed is reported.
Thanks in advance, Carl.

Hi Carl,
This works for me. Here is my mailsent.log
"Severity","ThreadID","Date","Time","Application","Message"
"Information","scheduler-1","03/05/14","15:16:55",,"C:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\logs\mailsent. log initialized"
"Information","scheduler-1","03/05/14","15:16:55",,"Mail: 'Test Email' From:'[email protected]' To:'[email protected]' was successfully sent using mymailservername"
It verifies the connection for me, successfully as well. Can you try an alternative machine?

  • Unlock my iPad, my e-mail server verified me

Yea! My e-mail server verified that I really am me! (of course, I knew it all along) However, now I need to get into my iPad. I need to reset it somehow because it is still asking me for my old user name and password, even though they wiped it out and replaced it with my new one that is linked with my Apple i.d.
My iPad still thinks that my old apple i.d. is my old server address.
    I'm so close...help? anybody?
    Thanks a bunch!

As of iOS 7, private browsing is not longer handled in the Settings app, but in Safari directly. The only Settings function for Safari that may impact this would be Block cookies.
Private browsing is turned on and off in Safari using the button in teh lower left of the Safari screen (if you do not see this, tap the + icon in the upper right to pull up an empty tab).

Although I have no problem getting hotmail and other yahoo account messages, my PRIMARY email account has been returning an error message "Cannot get mail, server unavailable".  But my server is working just fine for everything else except my main yahoo account.  Could anyone shed some light on this for me?  Thank you all!!

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Mail Server Account Error

Downloaded Thunderbird and started adding email accounts. So far I love it and didn't have a problem at all setting up multiple accounts. But now I keep getting a pop up error message for one of the accounts. And I am troubled as to why it is happening.
The error message is that the mail server for the account responded that the mailbox does not exist. Yet with all tests of sending and receiving with that email account there are no problems at all.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Checking mail server capabilities error

After updating to version 31.5.0 Thunderbird some of my imap server accounts will not function. They do on my other machines (not updated). Getting mail or sending mail I get this message: "checking mail server capabilities .." It will eventually time out. SMTP settings have not changed (using port 25). I have "allowed" Thunderbird.exe in windows firewall. Using Norton Anti Virus. Have tried disabling temporarily. Am able to access smtp.googlemail.com (different port).
Thanks in advance for any advice.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
*Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

  • Outgoing/offline mail server errors (143 /and/ SSL checked?)

i am trying to do this zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance thing where i go through all my umpteen accounts on my desktop and laptop and check all the umpteen settings to try and troubleshoot an outgoing mail server / "offline" errors in mac mail. this seems like it is isolated to mac mail it would be REALLY NICE if there was some organization in here (or at least an explanation) so that all the possible settings (and all the various locations for them) didn't mean this effort is like 35 factorial with respect to possible mistakes that can be made.
/anyway/ i am reading various threads and my ISP service provider recommends port 143 for IMAP but i am seeing threads responses that highly suggest using SSL. however, if i change the checkbox next to the 143 port entry to have SSL checked this automatically changes the port to 993.
now i am not sure whether to replace the 993 with 143 as suggested or to leave off the setting for SSL.
any suggestions so i can isolate this setting from the thousands of variables that could be the cause of this (orther than it being basically embedded in the software and impossible to fix for one reason or another)?
it will be a real pain to change this setting (3 separate steps) on 15 different accounts (45 steps) on two different computers (90 steps for this one single variable) and then have to change it back again.
    THANKS

  • CF10 IIS7.5 Cannot connect to mail server

I recently did an sbs migration from sbs 2003 to sbs 2011. On the 2011 box I installed ColdFusion 10, but I cannot get my mail server verified in the administrator. I am able to telnet newserver.domain.local 25 successfully, however I cannot use that same server name in the CF admin to connect to the mail server. I keep getting the error "Connection Verification Failed! " in the CF Admin when I try to verify the mail server. I noticed an error in mail.log that says: "javax.mail.MessagingException: Unknown SMTP host: oldserver.domain.local; nested exception is: java.net.UnknownHostException: oldserver.domain.local". The old server name is being used and I do not know why. I've been through all the sbs migration steps to clean up DNS so I'm not sure where ColdFusion is getting that old server name in the Unknown SMTP host error. I double checked DNS did a flushdns and restarted ColdFusion, but no luck so far.
If anyone has any other ideas how to troubleshoot this I'd greatly appreciate the advice.

I figured out the SMTP host issue. I had some code in some old cfmail tags that had the server "oldserver.domain.local" hard coded. I removed that server property from the cfmail tag so it would default to what was in the CF administrator.
Now I'm getting this error in the mail log: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay
I'm not sure how to safely enable relaying on Exchange 2010. I think it has something to do with the recipient connector. Any assistance would be fantastic.

  • HT4864 I am getting a triangle with an exclamation point next to my inbox...it says: There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account "MobileMe" or try again.  The server returned the error: Mail was unable to log in

I can send but cannot recieve email
This is the messege I am gewtting:
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “MobileMe” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to log in to the IMAP server “p02-imap.mail.me.com” using “Password” authentication. Verify that your account settings are correct.
The server returned the error: Service temporarily unavailable

Also if I go to system preferences accounts and re-enter the password it fixes the glitch sometimes.

  • How do I fix this error "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Authentication is required before sending [R0107005]. Please verify

My previous request had an incorrect email. This error began yesterday and I can't reply or send new emails from my PC, but email is working on my iphone.

I have been doing that. Here is the complete message I get. It was cut off in my initial question. "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Authentication is required before sending [R0107005]. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again."

  • Mail error "Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator.Select a different outgoing mail server from the list"

The Mail application has suddenly started giving error:
"Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator.Select a different outgoing mail server from the list"
It was working fine till yesterday, suddenly it stopped. I have 3 email accounts configured here, 2 are on exchange servers and one yahoo. Connection verification works and shows all servers as green.
    Any inputs?

I had 3 accounts, 2 ms exchange accounts and 1 yahoo. After removal of yahoo, everything is back to normal.
    Regards
    Rohit

  • Why do I get an "unable to connect - There may be a problem with the mail server or network." message from iCloud.  I have verified the settings.  I can access my iCloud account online but can't send or receive e-mail via the mail account.

Text limits to the "Question" link prevents a full explanation:
This is a long-time problem.  I have tried to resolve it with Apple but their "Customer Support" is merely a name.
I can go online and access my e-mail but when I try to send or receive e-mail via iCloud through my internet server (Google fiber now but the same situation existed with my prior service), I receive "There may be a problem with the mail server or network.  Verify the settings for 'Apple Email' and try again.
"The server returned the error:  The server 'p0-imap.mail.me.com' refused to allow a connection on port 143."
Well, I have verified the setting and tried again and again and …
Well, you get the idea …

Maybe you should test these things before calling people out, because these settings do function perfectly well.
iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)
The document I linked to is Apples documentation for iCloud on current devices,I don't care whether you believe that you know better than they do, but it will affect the people who follow your advice as it won't work

  • Mail Throws IMAP Error When Accessing POP Server @ Gmail

This is my first day with my new iMac and I must say that the most frustrating experience so far has been using Mail v 4.3
I have several accounts, and never had a problem until now. In the setup, it assumes incorrectly that my Gmail account is IMAP, which is isn't... and never will be considering I don't need that redundant files on a server nonsense for my personal mail.... so after it discovers there is no IMAP connection on my Gmail and it fusses about it, I switch the setting to POP.
Then when I try to download some e-mails later, it throws the following error: "Mail can't verify the identity of pop.gmail.com" ...because when you check the certificate error, you see it is querying imap.gmail.com instead of pop.gmail.com and hence getting a mismatch on the security certificate.
So I can't download Gmail emails at all for the moment.
I took a screen shot of the error message because I don't want some tech dude telling me I am imagining things or set it wrong.
Other than giving up and agreeing with Mail that I should be using IMAP, I'm stuck.

    Ernie,
I have already tried this. But I did it now, strictly following your suggestion. Here's what happens:
After the first screen of account setup, Mail offers for Incoming mail server imap.gmail.com, which I duly change to pop.gmail.com.
In the next screen I manually add the "@gmail.com" part of the address to the User Name field. Then click 'Create'.
A looooooong wait later I can click on Create twice again and it's done, supposedly.
But then, it fails to get anything from Google. The particular account shows up in Mail main window as a spinning gear forever, before giving up with no email downloaded. The account ends up showing in grey in the list of accounts, with the tilde ~ next to it.
This has happened many times, like I said.
    Really frustrating.

  • Mail Server Error:  imtpunix[302]: DBERROR: critical database situation

This error shows up in the Mail Access log. Once the error occur mail services stop until the server is restarted. a reboot and a database rebuild takes care of thing, but the error keeps coming back. I haven't been able to find a pattern to when the error occurs although the last two nights it seems to have crapped out just about the time the nightly back ups (retrospect 6.1.126) run ... but that doesn't make sense because the volume containing the os and mail isn't part of the nightly backup.
In addition to serving as a mail server, this machine is hosting a small (extremely low volume website and shareing files for 7 users). Installation and file locations is all standard locations.
osx server 10.4.10 All latest server upgrades and security patches have been installed. disk permissions have been verified. disk space is >50% available.
    any suggestions?

  • CF10 Can't Verify Mail Server

So I've been running CF9 on Linux for a while and using CFMail to send email through a client's Exchange 2010 server.
We're attempting to migrate to CF10 on Win2008, IIS7.5.  Everything is set and ready to go except I can't get CF10 to verify the mail connection?  I've got both mail settings (CF9 and CF10) set the exact same way and can view them open side by side and verify they're identical.  However, while the CF9 verifies successfully the CF10 system fails??
I tried sending through CFMail tags while specifying the server credentials and see this in the CF10 log:
"javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: No authentication mechansims supported by both server and client"
What does this mean?  I know my authentication credentials are correct because I'm able to connect in CF9.
I've turned off all firewalls and still nothing.  So, I then tried installing CF10 on my Mac laptop.  It, too, will not verify the mail connection!
Is there a known problem with CF10 connecting to an Exchange mail server?
    Any ideas?

    I "solved" this.
I could find little online and received no comments to this thread.  No combination of settings I tried would work and I have no access to the client's mail server.  The person who runs that server couldn't run a lemonade stand so no help there.
Then I stumbled across this page:
    https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/No+authentication+mechansims+supported+by+ both+server+and+client+when+Configuring+Microsoft+Exchange+SMTP+Server
Nothing to do with ColdFusion but seemed like a similar issue.  I'd never put much thought into CFMail because it was always drop dead simple and simply worked.  Focusing on this link's Resolution 2 I wondered if CF used JavaMail and if I could downgrade CFMail?  I cracked open CF's 'mail.jar' file and found that CFMail does, indeed, use the  JavaMail API.  So, I then checked the ColdFusion docs to see if any new features were added to CFMail between CF9 and CF10.  None.
So, I swapped out the 'mail.jar' file from my CF9 install to CF10 and restarted.  Boom!  Everything worked immediately.  As far as I can tell I've had no compatibility issues to report.
