    The IP communications domain has matured beyond providing VoIP only
    services. Universities, enterprises, businesses and individual
    consumers routinely use VoIP. The focus of IP communications is now on
    the operations, management, administration and provisioning aspects of
    large-scale, reliable and secure communication systems. To this extent,
    the research and standardization work now includes log file analysis,
    session tracing across proxy meshes and overload control. As IP
    communications grapples with these issues, newer technologies in the
    form of cloud-based IP communication systems; peer-to-peer VoIP
    networks; use of IP communications in virtual worlds; social
    networks and IP communications are starting to assert a strong
    presence in the IP communications domain.
    The aim of the IPTComm conference is to serve as a platform for
    researchers from academia, research labs, industry and government to
    share their ideas, views, results and experiences in the field of
    IP-based telecommunication. IPTComm will include presentations of
    theoretical and experimental achievements, innovative systems,
    prototyping efforts, case studies, and advancements in technology.

    Papers submission is handled by EDAS (http://edas.info/N8459).
    IPTComm solicits full papers up to 12 pages in length, in two-column
    ACM conference format
    (see http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates). All
    submissions must describe original research, not published nor
    currently under review for another conference or journal. The program
    committee will referee all papers, and accepted papers will be
    published in the conference proceedings. Papers will also be published in
    the ACM Digital Library.
    In 2010, IPTComm will be accepting short papers of at least 5 pages and
    no more than 6 pages. The aim of the short paper category is to help
    maintain a published record of work carried out as well as facilitate
    future affiliations and foster collaborative work. Short papers are
    subject to the same rigorous review process as full papers and follow
    the same submission process, schedule and expectation of presentation as
    the full papers.

  • Call for Speakers - 2006 ASUG Annual Conference

    The 2006 ASUG Annual Conference will be held May 14 - 17 in Orlando.
    The call for speakers has been open for a while now and will close on 11/21. If you have a topic that you would like to present at conference, I encourage you to submit your abstract before the deadline.
    I encourage everyone who has given a presentation in the past, whether at Annual conference, at one of the forums or during an outreach call to consider giving a presentation at the 2006 conference. I also encourage those of you who have not had the opportunity to share with the ASUG community to also consider submitting an abstract.

    I am afraid I don't know how to make this Sticky... Maybe someone can email me the answer ?? [email protected]
    As far as sharing material, ASUG has a non-disclosure agreements, which prohibits me from sharing the materials to the world at large.  I agree that it would be nice to share ASUG presentations with everyone here at SDN/BPX, but I am not allowed to do so.
    Thanks for the pointer about stickiness.

  • Southwest Fox/Xbase++ 2015 Call for Speakers

    The call has gone out!
    We’re inviting anyone interesting in speaking at this year’s conferences to submit topics. You’ll find the Call for Speakers at
    http://www.swfox.net/callforspeakers.aspx. Please read the complete Call for Speakers document (linked from that page), and use our proposal submission application at
    https://geekgatherings.com/Submission. Session proposals are due by
    March 9. (Yes, this is earlier than in prior years. We have some publicity plans that require us to have a little more lead time than in the past.)
    As in the past few years, we plan to offer a good selection of topics in core VFP development, extending VFP, using VFP with other technologies, and VFPX, as well as technology sessions to help VFP developers become better developers, not just more expert
    at VFP. We are looking for a few sessions on paths forward for VFP developers and we’re looking for a few deep-dive post-conference sessions.
    For Southwest Xbase++, this year’s sessions should primarily focus on Xbase++ 2.0. We are especially interested in your experience with features such as Universal-SQL and Single or Multi touch UI development with 2.0. If you are involved
    in Web application development, we want to hear about how to get most out of WebHandlers and WebSockets with 2.0.
    For both conferences, the Call for Speakers also lists some topics last year’s attendees specifically requested.
    Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. We’re looking forward to seeing your proposals. We expect that, as usual, choosing among them will be one of the hardest things we do all year.

    You should have arranged return of the damaged replacement to begin with right then.  Too late for that though. At this point, you can buy a used phone on Swappa.com or elsewhere that is compatible to Verizon or buy full retail.  I don't they will let you Early Edge right now being so close to having just upgraded.

  • Cisco Jabber for Windows in Extend and Connect mode and making outbound calls

    Hi guys,
    I've set up Cisco Jabber for Windows to use Extend and Connect to control a remote PBX endpoint. I've configured the required CTI-RD device, remote destinations, associated the users to the line and added the devices to end-user controlled device. The extend and connect part is working flawlessly without any issues. I'm able to receive inbound calls on the remote PBX endpoint and control the call (hold, resume, transfer etc.) using the Jabber call window that pops up.
    However, I'm unable to make any outbound calls via the Jabber client when in extend and Connect mode. Reading the Extend and Connect guide, I need to configure Dial Via Office (DVO) Reverse. So when the user initiates a Dial-Via-Office reverse call, CUCM calls and connect to the Extend and Connect device (CTI-RD). CUCM then calls and connects to the number the user dialled and finally connects the two call legs.
    After attempting to configure DVO-R for Jabber for Windows in Extend and Connect mode following the CUCM feature services guide, i'm unable to get any outbound calls working. From RTMT, i am receiving the following Termination Cause Code: (27) Destination out of order. What i also notice is that there is no calling number for that trace either. I would've thought that the calling party would've been the Enterprise Feature Access (EFA) number.
    Has anyone got this working or can provide some guidance?
    Thanks.

  • Why is VO getter not called for custom VO attributes?

    Hi,
    The requirement is to add couple of fields on a OAF page. Here is what I did:
    - Created custom VO by extending the standard VO
    - Added fields to the page via personalization.
    The issue is that the values for the custom fields on the page were not showing up. On investigation, I found the VORowImpl getter getAttrInvokeAccessor was not being called for my custom attribute. I tried to check the difference between the attributes for which the getter was called and for which it was not called. I couldn't find any and I'm totally left clueless as to what determines the getter to be called.
    Really appreciate your help to move ahead.
    Thanks,
    Anil
    Edited by: AnilMenta on Mar 5, 2013 10:40 AM

    Hi Anil,
    First of all, Could you please make sure that Extended VO is being picked up during the execution of the page . Ensure that extended VO is substituted
    If the VO is substituted then try Steps below
    1. Enable the diagnostics .. show log on page statements
    2. Search for your custom VO name .
    If you can find your extended VO here, then substitution is right and page is picking up the extended VO.
    Thanks

  • Decode not called for all UIComponents in tree

    Many of the faces .jsp pages I have been working with in EA2 have not been updating their models properly.
    The symptom I have observed is that the decode method is not called for all of the UIComponents on the page.
    I think I have tracked this down to a bug in the class com.sun.faces.tree.TreeNavigatorImpl. This class appears to be used internally by some of the .jsf code to navigate the component tree.
    Studying various stack traces, it looks like the method TreeNavigatorImpl.getNextStart() is supposed to provide a preorder traversal of the component tree. Starting from the root of the tree, each call is expected to return the next node. Experimental evidence suggests that it is not doing that properly, and it fails to visit all the nodes in the tree.
    For example, if my component tree looks like this (this is a representation of the tree; not an example of a .jsp page):
    <node id = "/">
       <node id = "page">
          <node id = "carStoreForm">
             <node id = "ba0">
                 <node id = "ba1">
                     <node id = "ba3"/>
                     <node id = "br4"/>
                 </node>
             </node>
             <node id = "bold1"/>
             <node id = "more1"/>
          </node>
       </node>
    </node>A preorder traversal of these nodes should visit nodes:
    '/page'
    '/page/carStoreForm'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0/ba1'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0/ba1/ba3'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0/ba1/br4'
    '/page/carStoreForm/bold1'
    '/page/carStoreForm/more1'
    However, when I write test code that calls TreeNavigatorImpl.getNextStart() directly, only the following nodes are returned:
    '/page'
    '/page/carStoreForm'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0/ba1'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0/ba1/ba3'
    '/page/carStoreForm/ba0/ba1/br4'
    It looks to me like the method loses track of the state of the traversal, and prematurely returns null before all the nodes are visited. (It is failing to return the "bold1" and "more1" nodes.)
    This is all extremely speculative. Without jsf source or doc for any of the tree classes, it is difficult to know what is supposed to be going on. And, of course, I may just have a bug in my code.

    Okay, rather than wait for Max to respond, I decompiled the TreeNavigatorImpl class myself and studied the source code. The
    problem arises in the getNextStart() method. If the method returns
    a null value, then presumably the class has successfully traversed
    the entire tree in preorder. Unfortunately, there was a slight
    logic error that would halt traversal after you got to the last node
    of the last subtree at the beginning of your travels.
    The following code should correct this situation (let me know if I've
    introduced any new problems into the mix...). I tested this out using the simple example that Max describes above. The test code appears at the end of my revised method:
    public UIComponent getNextStart() {
    UIComponent cur = null;
    if (startTraversalDone) {
    return cur;
    if (startStack.empty()) {
    cur = root;
    Iterator iter = cur.getChildren();
    if (iter.hasNext()) {
    startStack.push(iter);
    else {
    while (!startStack.empty()) {
         Iterator iter = (Iterator) startStack.peek();
         if (iter != null && iter.hasNext()) {
         cur = (UIComponent) iter.next();
         Iterator childIter = cur.getChildren();
         if (childIter != null && childIter.hasNext()) {
         startStack.push(childIter);
         else {
         if (!iter.hasNext()) {
         startStack.pop();
         break;
    else {
         startStack.pop();
    if (startStack.empty()) {
    startTraversalDone = true;
    if (cur != null) {
    endStack.push(cur);
    return cur;
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              MyComp root = new MyComp("root");
              // build tree....
              MyComp page = new MyComp("page");
              root.addChild(page);

    "i looked in SWI1 to see who processed it. But it is not showing any parituclar agent name. "
    Maybe nobody has process it, which is why it went overdue and passed the deadline.
    If it's a dialog task and it's completed then there must be an agent attached to it.
    Look in the workflow builder to see how the deadline is set up for that step. It could be that it just issues a notification.
    regards

    Please feel free to circulate this call for demos to interested colleagues, mailing lists, forums and blogs.
    ==============================================================
    Call for Demos:
    IPTComm2008 (as already IPTComm2007) features a special session for demonstrations. Topics of interest cover all aspects of Services and Security for Next Generation Networks, as outlined in the main conference call for papers. Demos will be held as closing session on July 2 at the main conference venue. All demonstration submissions should include a title, a short description of the system, a summary of its novel characteristics, the list of functions and features to be demonstrated, and state the significance of the contribution relevant to the conference themes. Submissions must be in English and must not exceed four pages. We encourage authors to include in their submissions a link to a set of screenshots and/or mockups and/or animations of the proposed demonstration where possible. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of their innovation, practical value, relevance and presentation. Accepted submissions will be published on the Conference website. Priority will be given to submissions that have industrial relevance and have a demonstrable impact on products in the short-medium term. The demo session is seen as an opportunity for researchers to come together with developers and industry to discuss practically oriented topics. Submissions are to be sent as email attachments (PDF format) to [email protected]
    Deadlines:
    Submission deadline: May 15, 2008

    Ali Fessi - University of Tubingen

    I am afraid I don't know how to make this Sticky... Maybe someone can email me the answer ?? [email protected]
    As far as sharing material, ASUG has a non-disclosure agreements, which prohibits me from sharing the materials to the world at large.  I agree that it would be nice to share ASUG presentations with everyone here at SDN/BPX, but I am not allowed to do so.
    Thanks for the pointer about stickiness.

  • VL 2000 Call for Participation

    VL'2000: IEEE Symposium on Visual Languages
    September 10-14, 2000
    Seattle, Washington
    http://www.cs.orst.edu/~burnett/vl2000/
    Call for Participation
    VL'2000 is the premier international conference on visual and
    multimedia languages for creating/understanding software.
    We hope you will plan to join us at this year's conference, which
    includes keynote talks by Brad Myers and Tony DeRose, a special
    session by S.-K. Chang, tutorials, satellite workshops, a social
    program to provide a sampling of some of Seattle's unique attractions,
    and more. Here are some of the details:
    Opening keynote: Brad Myers (Carnegie-Mellon University).
    Brad Myers is an extremely well known researcher in programming by
    demonstration. His topic will be "Creating More Natural Programming
    Languages," a description of his new line of research into
    deriving the design of a programming language from the results of
    human-factors experiments and principles.
    Closing keynote: Tony DeRose (Pixar Animation Studios).
    Tony DeRose is a senior scientist at Pixar, and was a major
    contributor
    to the Oscar winning short film "Geri's Game." In 1999 he received
    the ACM SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award. His topic
    will be "How Computer Graphics is Changing Hollywood," a behind-the-
    scenes look at how fully digital films --- such as Pixar's "A Bug's
    Life" and "Toy Story 2"--- are made, with particular emphasis on the
    role that geometry plays in the revolution.
    Tutorial -- Diagrammatic Reasoning and Visual Languages: How to draw
    upon research findings from psychology, art, mathematics, and
    human-computer interaction to design a diagrammatic visual
    language or environment.
    Tutorial -- Object-Oriented Software Development of Multimedia
    Applications with UML: UML is becoming extremely popular. This
    tutorial will introduce participants to UML diagrams, and will
    preview
    the currently proposed UML extensions to model multimedia
    applications.
    Tutorial -- Advanced Visual Modelling: Beyond UML:
    An overview of UML and some of its strengths and weaknesses, and
    alternative visual reasoning mechanisms that can be used instead of
    or in conjunction with UML.
    Tutorial -- Programming by Example Techniques: Introduction and survey
    of a broad range of techniques used in programming systems that
    allow the user to give examples of the desired behaviors and
    contents, from which the system generalizes.
    Satellite Workshop -- The Visual End User:
    http://borg.cs.dal.ca/~smedley/veu/index.html
    Satellite Workshop -- Visual Methods for Parallel/Distributed
    Programming:

    Also, S.-K. Chang will be doing a special presentation on the emerging
    subarea of Multimedia Software Engineering.
    Finally, our social program this year includes two receptions, an
    excursion to Paradise on Mount Rainier, and a banquet. See the web
    page for details.
    Please join us! More information, including the advance program
    and registration details, is available at:

    Hotel reservation deadline for the special VL rates: August 9.
    Conference registration deadline for the early rates: August 15.

    Hi John,
    Is I said in the mail I sent you, I'd be interested in having a go at this. We use TRAC in house and it would be nice to have a connector up and running for TPC.
    I'm hoping others would be willing to join in as well.
    Thanks
    Femi
