Collaboration Builder and Presenter in Adobe Connect

I have a project which requires reporting features out of Adobe Presenter, but we want to now integrate it with collaboration builder to have host lead sessions. Has anyone had experience with these two areas? I am getting very little out of my searches simply with Collaboration Builder. I am looking for someone with experience with the reporting feature of virtual classrooms, and specifically getting the reporting of that type of meeting to work with Collaboration Builder sdk, to load another game swf, which holds our game content. Viewer.swf is confusing in the current scheme of Presenter file structure, because I do not know what tasks that swf carries out, so I can incorporate them into my Flex shell to run a Presenter type game in Adobe Connect with my Flex shell. Not sure if that was clear, please ask any questions you have about this structure.

Presenter does use the Collaboration Builder SDK, though to the exact implementation, I'm not able to say.
Full documentation for the Collaboration Builder SDK, go to the Connect Developer center, Adobe Connect | Adobe Developer Connection That may help clarify the functionality and implementation of the SDK into your Flex application.

  • Flash Movie Presentations in Adobe Connect

We have been working with one of our customers on delivering
an on line sales tool using the Adobe Connect environment. They for
the usual legal reasons wished to use a sales aid they had already
created. This was a flash based CD-rom with various flash movies
    initiated by rollovers and buttons.
    But there was two problems:
    1. The index would not work i.e. the menu page appeared but
the subsequent movies and animations could not be found
    2. The click throughs and rollovers would not synchronizes,
i.e. if the presenter moved forward through the presentation the
    participants did not.
Both of these obviously make it useless.
After over three weeks of R&D we (David Kwaw , Steve
Grovenor and J ) have developed a bespoke piece of programing,
    based on Sync SWF
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobatconnect/articles/basic_syncswf_pt1.html
That solves this issue, we have since refined the coding so
that ONLY the presenter has control of the flash presentation,
making it more like Adobe Presenter just ALOT more flexible and
    better looking.
If you would like to know more... just drop us a line.

Everything except for the alpha transparency video is easily doable in Edge.
Rather then trying to shoehorn html5 video with an alpha transparency into Edge (not sure if this is doable), you could potentially use a png sequence or spriteSheet to play back those animations. Though the file size will be very large, and Edge does not have native implementation for png sequences or spriteSheet playback. yet.
John Dunning built a plugin for Fireworks to export a spritesheet as an Edge symbol:

  • Presenter in Adobe Connect

    Hello,
I have a published Presenter presentation which I need to
load onto Adobe Connect. The Presentation contains Captivate
simulations. When I publish the file to my computer the published
version plays perfectly, but when I then place this file on Adobe
Connect I have a problem with the simulations.
The presentation plays through, but when it reaches each of
the simulations they are displaying their final slides. You need to
rewind each of them and then they play perfectly.
Can anyone help me with this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post or PM the presentation. Seeing it would help get
    rid of the theoretical answers.

  • I would like to ask about one time charges, recurring charges and customization of adobe connect....

Customization; i want to change the adobe connect to my organization name. It is possible or not.
    Thanks

If you are one of Adobe's montly plans, no, you cannot customze the URL of the account to your organization. If you purchased and annual account through a reseller, then you should be able to request a custom URL for your account. If that is not what you are asking about, please clarify.
Did you have a question about charges? Those may best be addressed by the Adobe Support team.

  • Adobe Presenter Quizzes Adobe Connect Polls

Can Adobe Presenter Quizzes/Surveys results be tied to display the results in Adobe Connect Polls?

No, they are completely separe functions. The answers can be viewed in the Reports section of the room in the same way though.
However in Connect 9, the poll pod does do short answer polls as well as the multiple choice/multiple answer polls.

  • Cant download pdf, swf and pptx in Adobe Connect !!!

Hi, we cant download documents in Adobe Connect, system write writes "it is impossible to transform a file".  We cant download all types files, in many adobe connect rooms, what happened?!

Please call into Adobe Support.  It sounds like corruption of your room.  Does this happen in a new room or new File Share pod?

  • Collaboration in Adobe Connect

I downloaded a trial of Adobe Presenter.  I recorded a presentation, enabled collaboration, and posted to Adobe Connect.  However, when I click the question mark in the bottom of the screen to "collaborate" I get this message:
    What am I missing?

    Hi,
    Greetings for Adobe.
Please make sure that your browser is not set to full screen mode. Change it back to normal mode and see if you still get the same issue?

  • Video playback issue for Adobe Presenter 9 when publishing to Adobe Connect Pro 7

    Hello!
I am having an issue with video playback for Adobe Presenter 9. When I preview the presentation on my computer there are no issues with any of the MP4 videos that I have loaded into my presentations. However, when I publish the presentation to Adobe Connect and access the URL the videos are either delayed or do not appear at all.  We are using our own Adobe server which we purchased in 2008, along with Adobe Connect Pro 7. We recently updated our Adobe Presenter software to version 9. Is there an incompatibility issue between Adobe Presenter 9 and our current Adobe Server/current version of Adobe Connect? Or do I need to do something different in Adobe Presenter when importing the videos?  Note: I have tried FLV videos and had the same issue.
We are trying to launch of series of webinars (each webinar has between 15-42 slides), which was the whole purpose of updating our Adobe Presenter and Adobe Captivate software....hopefully we can resolve this video issue.
    Thanks!
    Dana

Connect 7 didn't support MP4 video content, as I recall. Another issue is that Connect rooms are using Action Script 2 (AS2) while Presenter 9 uses AS3, and the two code languages don't play well together. You don't mention if you are using the meeting application to display the presentation, but it is worth mentioning. If the presentations are stand alone, then the AS3 issue should be non-existent, but the MP4 support may be.
Is there a reason you haven't updated the Connect software to Connect 9 (or at least Connect 8.1 where the Connect application became AS3 as a whole and supported MP4 content)?

  • How to download an Adobe Connect presentation from a website

    Hi Adobe Community,
I'm taking a virtual course and they use Adobe Connect for our virtual classroom. After the class, the Adobe Connect presentation is saved on the course website. How do I download this presentation?

If the Host of the meeting chooses, they can make an FLV version and provide that to you (there is also the option for MP4, but since that is an additional cost to the organization providing the training, they may not opt to to that). Connect doesn't record the meetings in a video format, as you can see by the pods remaining interactive. If this is a need of yours, please reach out to the individual(s) who manage your online training and request that they provide you with such.

  • Working with .swf files in Adobe Connect

My goal is to load custom made flash (.swf) presentations into Adobe Connect and present them to an audience (not using presenter)- however I am encountering the following issues:
    1. The sound within the .swfs will not play (sounds works fine everywhere else, and was tested via the Audio setup wizard).
    2. Many of the features within the loaded .swf do not work - sometimes causing runtime errors - does certain as3 code not work in the Adobe Connect environment?
    3. "Synchronized Navigation" in the Shared Pod option menu is grayed out - I can not synchronize flash content? How can I control the presentation?
Thank you in advance for any guidance you can offer.

Connect is an AS2 applicaton, and therefore, AS3 SWFs will not work (or not work properly).
If you want to correctly build an application to work in a Connect pod you need to follow the rules in the Collaboration builder, SDK documentation. This has not changed since Connect 6, thus the older version refference.

  • Why do I not have the option to publish my video demo to Adobe Connect?

I'm new to Captivate and recorded a video demo for my co-workers instructing how to set up and run an Adobe Connect Meeting. We have an account to publish Adobe Presenter and Captivate content to Adobe Connect Pro, and use it to host our Adobe Presenter presentations. I was under the impression I could publish the video demo from Captivate much like I do the presentations from Presenter in PowerPoint, however when I go to publish my video demo I am not given the option to publish to Connect. From what I've found (here: http://www.adobe.com/support/captivate/advanced/publish_acrobat.html), you can select/edit the server(s) you publish to under the Quiz menu, however my video demo has no quiz and I have no quiz menu.
This is what I get when I go to publish the demo:
..as you can see, no option to select a server.
This is the Preferences window. Again, no place to select a server:
I've found plenty of information on adding video demos to a Connect Meeting room, but I'd rather just publish it to Connect the way I do Presenter files. Is this possible or do video demos have to be added to meeting rooms instead? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Problems running Adobe Connect add-in under XenApp

This is a real stab in the dark but it's a serious problem for us. Something has changed recently with Adobe Connect that means the add-in (adobeconnectaddin.exe) is hanging at the "Connecting" prompt. We're running Windows 2003 Terminal Server with Citrix XenApp v5 on top.
I suspect it's a problem with Flash acceleration features baked into HDX Flash, part of XenApp but it used to work. Flash v11.3 or higher broke HDX Flash but I don't think that's the problem as I've gone back to a very basic XenApp build with nothing much apart from the OS, XenApp, Flash v11.2.202.235 and the latest add-in - same crash occurs. If I happen to logon to the console using RDP, the fault doesn't occur hence my reason for suspecting it's the Citrix Receiver client/HDX Flash/Adobe Connect Pro add-in nightmare combo!
But considering I've gone back to an earlier image of XenApp (we keep copies of all builds) from February where Adobe Connect used to work fine, I suspect something has now changed with ACP that's broken it on XenApp.
As I said, it's a shot in the dark because this is a relatively unusual set-up and we're on an old version of XenApp/Windows as well.
    But help!
    Cheers, Rob.

Rob, it sounds like port 1935 is being blocked. Can you verify that that port is open?
Have you gone to the Test Your Computer page for your connect account. After the diagnostics run, choose to send and email and then click on the details... link to see the results of the test.
Here is a link to that page for our hosted account, if that makes it easier: http://realeyesconnect.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm
If needed, Connect only requires FP 10.3 or newer. If it comes to it, an older version of the Flash Player can be tested.

  • Is LCCS dead meat because of Adobe Connect?

I'm sorry, but I can't help but wonder how Adobe can say there is no profit in LCCS and yet offer Adobe Connect as a service themselves.  It sounds to me like Adobe is trying to eliminate the competition...  Don't get me wrong, I'm about as close to an Adobe fanboy as you get, but this seems just a tad bit off on the logic scale.  To me, the logical solution is, if necessary, raise the pricing on LCCS on us developers, or release the server side code (at least the portions that are owned by Adobe).

It would be through the Connect APIs and eFront's APIs. This would likely take some programming skill, as there is no 'plug-and-play' option. I don't know of anyone who has built out this integration, but, maybe someone will chime in here.
You might try reaching out to a group that is comfortable building out this functionality and seeing if it can be done within your budget. Maybe start with ActiveC and see if they can help, or if they know someone who can. http://www.activec.biz/software/bespoke

  • Adobe Connect DON'T work under Debian 6

I can't watch a recorded presentation through adobe connect.  I can watch it under windows 7, but not through Debian 6.
    How can I solve this?

What flash version does it report as having according to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and what are the symptoms when opening the meeting recording under Debian? Do you get the same problem on other meeting recordings on other servers, if this is possible to test?
