Collaboration Edge

So to do TelePresence B2B and VPNless Jabber I need VCS-C and E (Which can be VMS).  Do i just use my existing internet connection to send these calls out or do I need SIP trunking with a telco?

No, you do not need a SIP trunk to a Telco.  All the comms go over your existing Internet connection and to put it in similar terms, your TelePresence infrastructure becomes the telco for your devices.
Have a read of the Mobile and Remote Access Deployment Guide for some further details on how it all needs to be configured.

    Hi Marcelo,
Yes, there are some requirements for certificates in Expressway.
    Expressway Core (Exp-C)
    - Can be signed by either External or Internal CA
    - Better to use a cluster name even if you start with 1 peer in Exp-C cluster. In the future, if more peers are added, changes would be minimal.
    - Better to use FQDN of cluster as CN of certificate, this way the traversal zone configuration on Expressway-E won't require any change even if new peers are added to Exp-C cluster.
    - If CUCM is mixed mode, include security profile names (in FQDN format) as Subject Alternate Names
    - The Chat Node Aliases that are configured on the IM and Presence servers. They will be required only for Unified Communications XMPP federation deployments that intend to use both TLS and group chat. (Note that Unified Communications XMPP federation will be supported in a future Expressway release). The Expressway-C automatically includes the chat node aliases in the CSR, providing it has discovered a set of IM&P servers.
    - For TLS b/w CUCM, IM-P & Exp-C
+ If using self-signed certificates on CUCM, IM/P. Load Cisco Tomcat, cup, cup-xmpp certificates from IM-P on Exp-C. Load callmanager, Cisco Tomcat certificates from CUCM on Exp-C.
+ If using Internal CA signed certificates on CUCM, IM/P. Load Root CA certificates on Exp-C.
      + Load CA certificate under tomcat-trust, cup-trust, cup-xmpp-trust on IM-P.
+ Load CA certificate under tomcat-trust, callmanager-trust on CUCM.
    Expressway Edge (Exp-E)
    - Signed by External CA
    - Configured Unified Communications domain as Subject Alternate Name
    - If using a cluster, select FQDN of this peer as CN and FQDN of Cluster + this peer as Subject Alternate Name.
    - If XMPP federation is being deployed, enter the same Chat Node Aliases as entered in Exp-C.

  • VCS Expressway event log errors when Jabber for iPhone and Windows log in

    hi folks,
I've deployed Collaboration Edge with VCS Control and Expressway:
my Jabber for iPhone succesfully can log in from Internet and it can IM but not calls and I see next messages in VCS Expressway when Jabber is logging in:

"Digest User" in the "Protocol Specific Information" section of Phone Configuration selected right user. in this Jabber I see following error "Failed to get device configuration". however Jabber for Windows and for Android hasn't such issues - they succesfully can log in from Internet and it can do calls and IM but I see next messages in VCS Expressway when Jabber is logging in. The same log line appears when Jabber for Android log in:
    tvcs: Event="Inbound TLS Negotiation Error" Service="SIP" Src-ip="Client-in-the-Internet-IPaddress" Src-port="56751" Dst-ip="Expressway-IPaddress" Dst-port="5061" Detail="No SSL error available, probably remote disconnect" Protocol="TLS" Level="1" UTCTime="2015-03-27 14:19:11,769"
and I can't find any information which describe such types of error.
    thanks!

Thanks Srini, but the instructions have two options:
    1. Use the Control Panel, select "Oracle 11g..." and uninstall from there.
This is of course the first thing I tried, but as I said, there is no entry for Oracle 11g in my "Programs and Features" applet.
    2. Download the install package and run OracleXE.exe with the remove iss file.
    Firstly, there is no OracleXE.exe in the package I downloaded, just setup.exe;
Secondly, setup.exe ignores the iss parameter and tells me that OracleXE is already installed (setup.log contains ResultCode=-3) so it can't be installed.
Is there somewhere else to get an OracleXE.exe that will work for 11g? Or are these the instructions for 10g and haven't been updated yet?
Am I unusual in not having a Control Panel entry?
(and I understand this is a beta - that's partly why I'd like to uninstall it - I'll go back to 10g and not be so impatient :))
    Regards,
    Andrew

  • How to Remove WebEx Connect domain

    Hi all,
A customer of ours used to have a WebEx Connect subscription which is currently expired. They are now deploying Collaboration Edge with on-prem IM&P services (CUCM IM&P) but Jabber still discovers their domain to be handled by WebEx Connect.
How can we get rid of the association between their domain and the WebEx Connect cloud IM&P services forever?
    Thanks.

yes, I got this done through a Cisco Collaboration Solution Architect by asking him a favor.
He did that internally in Cisco (I guess by logging a case with the PM) and told me he didn't know of any official procedure for end users or partners.

  • IP Phone SSL VPN to ASA using AnyConnect

I have a CUCM 7.1.5. We are using Phone proxy today. I wanted to upgrade to IP phone SSL VPN.
I know in 8.x and 9.x the Proxy phone is not supported and Cisco supports SSL VPN.
However, The question is: if CUCM 7.1.5 supports Phone SSL VPN.
    Lastly,
I hear about Collaboration Edge in CUCM 10.x
If CUCM 10.x is deployed then how the ASA concept plays a role here.
What type of license I would need for Collaboration Edge to register the endpoints\phones from outside of network.
I cant find any information about the Colaboration Edge on the Internet...

The embargo/NDA is being lifted. The ASA is not involved. Here's the jump page with info:

PS- Jason could have found out details in advance since DiData has partner NDA status.

  • Jabber and Multiple DNS Domains

have a customer that is running into some "minor" issues in getting Jabber to work well on their mobile devices.
The issues revolves around I think a DNS issue in that their Internet domain is "mycomp.com" while inside they are "corp.mycomp.local"
Am I correct in that this is easily fixed for the expressway-E and expressway-C is to have the following setup:
    On the External DNS server
    _collab-edge.tls.mycomp.com  =>  expresswaye.mycomp.com
    On the Internal DNS server:
    _cisco-uds._tcp.mycomp.com => cucm1.corp.mycorp.local
    _cisco-uds._tcp.corp.mycomp.local =>  cucm1.corp.mycomp.local
If the Expressways are configured correctly, then this should work and the credentials for the users should be the same instde and out, OR am I missing something?
    Thanks

  • What is BDI or BDS spelled out? Jabber for Mac 9.2(1) Installation and Configuration Guide

I’m spending the day catching up on Jabber/IM&P release notes across the server/clients.
So I’m used to EDI and UDS, but we have a new acronym in the Jabber for Mac 9.2(1) Installation and Configuration Guide called BDI and BDS. However they don’t define what BDI stands for other than BDI is LDAP for non-windows
Clients and suggests it should be used for Jabber for Mac.
What is BDI or BDS spelled out? Something directory integration, but what is the B ?
Then to add to the mix they reference BDS which sounds like the old UDS (is UDS changing to BDS?)
How can Jabber get any more confusing…
I also noted in the  Jabber Video for iPad 9.3.4 release notes that Apple is removing the Always Connect option in the near future. Manually launching Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client before making a call. This is going to upset some customers who like how Lync uses https and just works from anywhere with enhanced directory integration…

Basic Directory Integration. It's not new, we had it in the Windows clients as far back as CUPC. The distinction got introduced when EDI was introduced, relying on Windows ADSI APIs instead of the client making a native LDAP bind.
To my knowledge BDI/BDS are the same thing; I'm guessing S is 'service'. UDS remains unchanged.
I also noted in the  Jabber Video for iPad 9.3.4 release notes that Apple is removing the Always Connect option in the near future.
Well, they lost a patent infringement lawsuit and chose to change the functionality instead of pay the troll. That's not Jabber's fault. Collaboration Edge will be the way to avoid this in the near future.

    Tenaro,
Additionally here are the most common login issues.  Unfortunately this includes items related to Presence implementation but I commented where we did not use these in our lab setup for CUCM Phone Capabilities only.
    Login Issues
    Problem:
Jabber Unable to Sign-in Through MRA
    Solution
This can be caused by a number of things, a few of which are outlined below.
     1.  Collaboration Edge SRV record not created and/or port 8443 unreachable
For a jabber client to be able to login successfully using MRA, a specific collaboration edge SRV record must be created and accessible externally. When a jabber client is initially started it will make server DNS SRV queries:
_cisco-uds : this SRV record is used to determine if a CUCM server is available.
_cuplogin : this SRV record is used to determine if an IM&P server is available.
_collab-edge : this SRV record is used to determine if MRA is available.
If the jabber client is started and does not receive an SRV answer for _cisco-uds and _cuplogin, and does receive an answer for _collab-edge then it will use this answer to try to contact the Expressway-E listed in the SRV answer.
The _collab-edge SRV record should point to the FQDN of the Expressway-E using port 8443. If the _collab-edge SRV is not created, or is not externally available,  or if it is available, but port 8443 is not reachable, then the jabber client will fail to login.
     2.  Unacceptable or No Available Certificate on VCS Expressway
After the jabber client has received an answer for _collab-edge, it will then contact the expressway using TLS over port 8443 to try to retrieve the certificate from the expressway to setup TLS for communication between the jabber client and the expressway.
If the Expressway does not have a valid signed certificate that contains either the FQDN or domain of the Expressway, then this will fail and the jabber client will fail to login.
If this is occurring, the you should use the CSR tool on the Expressway, which will automatically include the FQDN of the expressway as a Subject Alternative Name.
MRA requires secure communication between the Expressway-C and Expressway-E, and between the Expressway-E and external endpoints.
    Expressway-C Server Certificate Requirements:
The Chat Node Aliases configured on the IM&P servers. This is required if you are doing XMPP federation.  The Expressway-C should automatically include these in the CSR provided that an IM&P server has already been discovered on the Expressway-C.
The names in FQDN format of all Phone Security Profiles in CUCM configured for TLS and used on devices configured for MRA. This allows for secure communication between the CUCM and Expressway-C  for the devices using those Phone Security Profiles.
    Expressway-E Server Certificate Requirements:
All domains configured for Unified Communications. This includes the domain of the Expressway-E and C, e-mail address domain configured for Jabber, and any presence domains.
The Chat Node Aliases configured on the IM&P servers. This is required if you are doing XMPP federation.
The MRA Deployment guide describes this in greater detail on pages 17-18. (http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/expressway/config_guide/X8-1/Mobile-Remote-Ac...
Note: In our lab for testing Phone Capabilities only, we did not include the Chat Node Aliases in the certificate as we were not using IM&P.
     3.  No UDS Servers Found in Edge Config
After the Jabber client successfully establishes a secure connection with the Expressway-E, it will ask for its edge config. This edge config will contain the SRV records for _cuplogin and _cisco-uds. If these SRV records are not returned in the edge config, then the jabber client will not be able to proceed with trying to login.
To fix this, make sure that _cisco-uds and _cuplogin SRV records are created internally and resolvable by the Expressway-C
More information on the DNS SRV records can be found on page 10 of the MRA deployment guide for X8.1.1 (http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/expressway/config_guide/X8-1/Mobile-Remote-Access-via-Expressway-Deployment-Guide-X8-1-1.pdf)
Note: In our lab for testing Phone Capabilities only, we did not include the DNS SRV for _cuplogin.
     4.  The Expressway-C logs will indicate the following error: XCP_JABBERD  Detail="Unable to connect to host '%IP%', port 7400:(111) Connection  refused"
If Expressway-E NIC is incorrectly configured, this can cause the XCP server to not be updated. If the Expressway-E meets the following criteria, then you will likely have this issue:
    Using a single NIC
Advanced Networking Option Key is installed
Use Dual Network Interfaces option is set to “Yes”
To correct this problem, change the “Use Dual Network Interfaces” option to “No”
The reason this is a problem is because the Expressway-E will be listening for the XCP session on the wrong network interface, which will cause the connection to fail/timeout. The Expressway-E listens on TCP port 7400 for the XCP session. You can verify this by using the netstat command from the VCS as root.
Note: We used a Dual Network Interface Expressway for testing but were not using XCP, so this was not applicable to us.
     5.  VCE-E Server hostname/domain name does not match what is configured in the _collab-edge SRV.
If the Expressway-E Server hostname/domain name does not match what was received in the _collab-edge SRV answer, the jabber client will not be able to communicate to the Expressway-E. The Jabber client uses the xmppEdgeServer/Address element in the get_edge_config response to establish the XMPP connection to the Expressway-E.
This is an example of what the xmppEdgeServer/Address would look like in the get_edge_config response from the Expressway-E to the Jabber client:
    <xmppEdgeServer>
    <server>
    <address>ott-vcse1.vcx.cisco.com</address>
    <tlsPort>5222</tlsPort>
    </server>
    </xmppEdgeServer>
To avoid this, make sure that the _collab-edge SRV record matches the Expressway-E hostname/domain name. Enhancement CSCuo83458 has been filed for this.
Note: This was one of our issues when we first setup.  We adjusted our Expressway-E to insure the below:
System > Administration > System Name this was the FQDN
System > DNS > System Host Name was the host portion of the FQDN
System > DNS > Domain Name was the domain portion of the FQDN
System > Clustering > Cluster Name (FQDN for Provisioning) was the FQDN
     6. Unable to log into certain IM&P servers. VCS logs say "No realm found for host cups-example.domain.com, check connect auth configuration"
From the Expressway-E, go to Configuration -> Unified Communications -> IM&P Servers. Open each server and click "Save" again. Not sure exactly why this happens.
Note:  This was N/A to our test and can be ignored with Phone Capabilities only.
    Thanks
    Fred

  • Sx20 Throught Expressway E&C

    Hi Team
we have created a collaboration edge sx20-cucm-expresswayC-expresswayE
The communication for now between EXPC and EXPE is tcp and not tls.We will install certificate at later on
    Now Some questions:
    1) i will install certificate from public ca into EXPE.And then what have to add(Certificates) between EXPC and EXPE  to establish the tls connection?
    2) I can call outside VCs from sx20 successfully but when i call from outside VC to sx20 through EXPE  , the call going to sx20 and when i answer then the call drop.
Do you have any idea about the above?
    /Chrysostomos

    Chrys,
The transport protocol between expwe-e and c has to be TLS. The communication between the two has to be fully encrypted.
For the certificates, you need to install two certs on expwe and c..
    1. The root CA certificate
    2. Expwe and C certificates as server certs.
    You need to generate CSR...
Generate CSR, send to CA to sign and use web and client server template
    Upload cert as server certs.
Secondly on the issue you are having, it looks like you need to check your configuration. Looking at the logs the call is not matching the correct search rule. There is an auto generated rule that is configured when expressway-c does CUCM discovery. Even though this rule appears to be present, this call is not matching that rule..
    Here is a sample trace..
Detail="Search rule 'CEtcp-10.21.30.51' did not match destination alias '[email protected]'"
Detail="Search rule 'CEtcp-10.24.35.51' did not match destination alias '[email protected]'"
Hence this call is then routed via a static rule you have defined..
Detail="Considering search rule 'Route to CUCM cluster' towards target 'to CUCM cluster' at priority '34' with alias '[email protected]'"
This is what a normal MRA search rule should look like..
Detail="Considering search rule 'CEtcp-uclabcucm-sub' towards target 'CEtcp-uclabcucm-sub' at priority '45' with alias 'uclabcucm-sub;transport=tcp;lr'"
From the logs this call doesn't proceed like a MRA call. You should check your configuration.
In any case the reason why this call is failing is because expressway-e sends an ACK to the 200 OK sent by expressway-c contains no SDP and the reason is because the original INVITE from sx20 to expwe doesn't have any SDP in it..
You should enable Early offer on the SIP profile, assigned to SX20.
Here is the original invite from expressway-e to c

  • CUP server behind NAT

Would there be any problems in having a CUP server (IM & Presence) behind a NAT? A quick google indicates that XMPP isn't like SIP and is NAT friendly, but I wasn't sure if there are any gotchas. (The CUP server and it's CUCM partner are on the same subnet, so there's no issue with the presence SIP trunk between CUP & CUCM)
    Thanks,
    GTG

It may work, but the client is going to be only functioning half way.  Take a look at the port mappings below.   you will see that XMP will get you connected to the server, but then directory calls go right to LDAP, etc.   You cant NAT LDAP requests.
The correct way to do this is to run Collaboration Edge (VCS Expressway) in your DMX to hand off the secure communications between the Jabber client and the rest of the UC servers. (CUCM, CUC, LDAP, etc).

  • Configure SX10 with Expressway

    Hi all,
    My scenario:
    SX10 --> CUCM --> Expressway Core --> Expressway Edge --> Internet (Public) --> SX10
    I configured SX10 into LAN.
But in the internet,i don't know how to configure it with Expressway Edge.
Because in menu of Device, i show that it have 3 options:
    - CUCM
    - CUCM via Expressway.
    - VCS.
If i choose option 2,it has 3 parameters:
    - Username
    - Password
    - Domain.
I upgraded CA to End Device through this guide.

    Anyone help me?
    Thanks

  • CUPS Hostname/Domain Name Issue

I am having difficulty configuring the hostname/domain name for CUPS.
    My goal:
    Network-Level Hostname: EXAMPLE-CUPS-01 (.example.local)
    Network-Level Domain: example.local
    Application-Level Domain Name: im.example.com
    My problems are:
    1. Specifying a different domain under "Cluster Topology" seems to break things (unable to connect to database).
    2. Even if I could fix issue #1, SSL certificates seem to be generated based on the hostname -- CSRs as well. Meaning Jabber will not connect because the name it is connecting to does not match the certificates "CN" field.
What am I doing wrong here?
    Thanks.

Not really - it seems best to just use your public email domain for the IM/P server(s): im.companydomain.com
Technically on IM/P 10.0 you can specify a different domain for end users than the one assigned to the server... however just putting it in the public company domain seems to be the option least likely to create problems.
I am pretty sure putting it in a .local domain can cause some problems with Collaboration Edge as well..

    Hi,
No problems,  but with all due respect - those are the official documentation!  You can trust this content - it's published by us @SAP
If you're new the BO server admin, those .pdf Admin guides are your 'reference texts' and will become indispensible.
Also, please search the SDN for articles, as Denis mentionned in the other thread. For example: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/UpgradetoSp2-Testingandbackup+strategy
if you are new to this I would advise caution. Those step by steps (I previously referenced) are absolutely accurate. If you cannot make sense of these, then you may need to work collaboratively with colleagues using the 4-eye principle.
... which is sort of like a human backup strategy
    Regards,
    H

  • Using the shared review function with a Captivate including Edge animations

    Hello,
We are working on a Captivate (Captivate 8) project that includes several modules of which many of the slides have animations created using Edge. We would like to utilize the shared review but when I publish the course and view the course in the Captivate Reviewer, I can't see the animations. Does it have anything to do with the animations being published as HTML5 animations (.oam)? Any thoughts?
    Thank you!

Thank you for confirming that. Do you know if Adobe offers another way to conduct a collaborative review with html5 projects?

    Hi Rani,
I have had similar experience of adding huge group of users to the collaboration rooms. I was in a situation where around 22,000 users had to be added and we were on SPS16 believe me it consumes a lot of time to add users of this size, we upgraded to SPS18 and the issue was resolved as SPS17 and upwards allows you to add user groups. In your case when you add user groups, the users in the group are expanded and added to the room maintenance page hence the loading is so slow and the same thing happens again if you make any changes and save. I sincerely suggested upgrading as I have gone through the similar situation.
About SAP webdispatcher, you are thinking in the right direction if your requirement is load balancing. Accessing portal through internet is another dimension to it. Do you know how many users will be accessing it through internet? Have you already explored alternates like VPN ( if the user base is not too large)?
