Collaboration Features in CE

Hi, folks!
As we' re evaluating CE as EP, I wonder what collaboration features are available within this platform. OK, there are GP for modelling and execution, UWL for processing workitems. But what about the other stuff - people centric, synchronous and asynchronous collaboration, room infrastructure and groupware framework?

Since CE is light weighted product so in its initial release KM and Collaboration components are not included.

Hi All,

Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP) allows portal users to manage their contacts and launch services for collaboration. Users use a link in the tool area of the masthead to launch the CLP,then activate clp and Activate the technical component Real-Time Collaboration (RTC).
RTC provide the standard services instant messaging and application sharing.
With these technical components, you also activate the Real-Time Messaging Framework (RTMF). In the portal, the RTMF is the technical infrastructure for transferring real-time event between servers and clients.
so, After installing the Collaboration component in SAP NetWeaver, you need to complete a number of configuration steps in order to fully implement Real-Time Collaboration (RTC) in the portal. RTC provides both application sharing and instant messaging in the portal.

How to enable collaboration features in BusinessObjects 4.1

Hi guys,
Can we have collaboration features such as chat, forum, discussion in SAP BusinessObjects 4.1. For example, one client open a report and the others can comment on that session at the same time.

AAMEE Install and Collaborative Features

I plan to install and activate CS6 using an AAMEE created installer under a single departmental ID in order to manage the licenses better and make installation and upgrading easier. One thing is unclear from all the documentation I've seen. Does installation under a single ID affect my users ability to use the collaborative features of CS6, which seem to need to use their own Adobe ID?

We have techs who use different Adobe ID's to create and update packages, doesn't seem to have any dependency on any specific one.
In other words jdoe-at-adobe.com creates a PKG, and then later bsmith-at-adobe.com needs to update it.
We haven't had a problem.

Collaboration features

Hi All,
We have a requirement to enhance collaboration features,find the below information.
Software:CUCM,CUC,Presence,UCCX=8.X version.
Hardware:UCS C200 M2 server
As i gone through documents jabber will supports on version 8.x,my doubt is should i need any up gradation or with existing setup i can use the jabber features,advice me on this !!!!

You can remove the context menu popup by doing this:
Login to portal as admin
Follow system admin-->sysconfigratrion --> coloabration -->properties -->command group -->users group -->edit --> remove
   UserGWGroup
   UserSyncGroup
   UserAsyncGroup
   UserWorkflowGroup.
This way all the menu will be removed.

New Collaboration Features of the Portal

Hi,
Do anyone of you know when some of the New Collaboration Features of the Portal is released.
I know that some of the features already are released, but I am especially interested in the new Team workspaces (next-generation of collaboration rooms) and the standard integration to MS Sharepoint.
I found this document

The beta shipment of the first feature wave of the collaboration portal started end of March, as mentioned [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-collaboration#section10].
Only some selected pilot customers have access to the beta shipment. The features that you mention are included in this beta shipment.
The Collaboration Portal should be available once the ramp-up phase is completed.

There are various KM & collaboration feature available on portal like forums collaboration rooms, chat, mail,sharing of documents, search, subscription, work flow, time-based publishing.
In one of my client, we have used KM extensively to publish dashboard on portal. Several BI dashboard for different countries. Thus folder were created for each countries in KM. Countries dashboard link were created in respective KM folder. We had used there subscription where user had subscribed to this folder. As soon as some dashboard is published all users respective to that countries were information by mail.
You can even use broadcasting feature using BI repository where BI reports can be published in KM, you can even schedule BI report which would be published as well as sent in email.
So thus depending on client requirement you can use following feature. Let me know if you have some other ideas for collaborating BI reports on portal

Collaboration features in UCM 11g

I have a requirement where I need to implement collaboration on a content in UCM
11g.Users will be able to provide comments on a content which I need to show in
the content info page.
I want to know the best possible way to achieve this.Is any out of box component
available for this?

There are several levels how to achieve that:
1. the simplest one is using a metadata field - there is one called Comment. The obvious disadvantage is that it has limited length (2K characters), and users may overwrite comments of the others
2. a more advanced, and I believe it could be sufficient to your needs, is using discussions (Threaded Discussion component). You may find details about this component here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10797/c04_working_with_files.htm#CSUSG884
3. even more advanced, but need additional licenses, is creation of context-aware comments (mark-ups), often to non-editable formats. The advantage of that approach is that a user is able to place his or her comment directly in the place where the comment is relevant. UCM is integrated with AutoVue, an Oracle application, which is capable of that. Also, OnTrack (renamed to Oracle Social Network) has this feature, and I believe in the future this is probably the direction to go.

Adding a collaboration feature

An idea I just had was that Spotify should add a collaboration section. So when you have a bunch of people you are with they can all collaborate on the playlist that is playing through the application. For example, if everyone was connected to the same network, the app would pick up on that and generate a playlist that everyone with the Spotify app could add to. This could potentially add to the users of the application, because if the group is playing music through the application one would want to be included and then download it. The playlist could stay active for 24 hours so the collaborators can choose whether to follow it or not. This would generate great memories for friends while also promoting the brand and generating revenue.

This is already possible: On the desktop version right-click on a playlist => Choose 'Collaborative Playlist' and share the playlist link with all the people that you would like to have them songs added. Enjoy! ;)

Feature request: Creative Cloud collaboration

I've been a CC member and supporter from the start and the one thing I was hoping for was more collaboration features. I'll give an example:
I have a client shoot and when I'm done I use Lightroom to import my images. Currently there is no way (that I know of) for my client to rate, color code, or add notes to the images in real-time.
With my CC membership I should be able to upload preview versions of the images for clients and have the items I describe above sync in real-time or with a button press. We all have 5GB of CC online so there is room with options to buy more. I would image a website version first with app integration later.
If anyone knows of a painless way of doing what I described please let me know below.

Trying to see the Guided Demo of KM and Collaboration in SDN

Hi,
Just one month back , I found a eclass in SDN, a demo( guided end user tour) of KM and Coolaboration to illustrate the functionality of the end users. This was a eclass with the online demo but only with a voice and no small video of the instructor. The full page was used to show the Portal Page in action and showed the capability of KM AND COLL as the end would experience.
Currently all the eclass( KM and coll) are power point based demo and the one that I am talking about is no longer available.
Have any body seen the one I mentioned before and help me to find it. If any body has it stored on his/her's pc let me know, i can send my email address .

Error in Real Time Collaboration

We got an issue in our project.
When ever any user log's into Portal it is giving a message called
With title Real-Time Collaboration(You are logged to the same portal already. Real-time collaboration capabilities will not be available in the current portal session until you terminate the other session and then restart this one by refreshing the browser or logging on again.)
We are using EP6 SP13
And we are having 2000 Portal users every one is getting this error in portal.
And After restarting the Server we are not getting that error. And again after a month it again starts.

Hi Srikanth,
We also faced the same error and it was because the same users have already logged into the portal once or more than once.
The capabilities of real time collaboration feature might not work if an user has made multiple login to the portal using same id.
Hope the issue should be same with you.
