Collaboration room issue after ehp1

Hi expert,
We have lots of collaboration rooms, each room have their own left-hand navigation. The left hand dynamic navigation contains member list, quick links etc under detailed navigation. All of these items are not visible or missing after ehp1/sps4.
Any method on this?

Hierarchy expand issue after EHP1 upgrade

Hi,
We had EHP1 upgrade in our BI system. After upgrade, when we are trying to open the hierarchy of period.
it should open from TOTAL to Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4. Also when we should try to open Q1 then it should open Jan, Feb and Mar.
When i am trying to open the Q1, Insted of opening another column for Jan, Feb and Mar. It disappear the Q1 column from WB.
I tried to execute the query separately and it is working fine. Created a another new WB and it is also working fine.
Is there any one have such issue then please let me know whould could bea solution or any SAP Note ect?

I have also done the EHP1 upgrade and found the same issue....
Please run the program SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES and delete the hierarchy temporary tables.....It will definately solve your problem...

Unable to remove Collaboration room member

We are unable to successfully remove a user from the members tab of "Room Maintenance" from Collaboration Rooms. After removing the user from the list, we receive the following error: "Properties could not be saved".
How can we resolve this issue? Any input would be appreciated.

We had the same problem. At us we are synchronizing users with Microsoft AD. The user had to be deleted from the rooms before they where deleted AD - otherwise we got the problem.
If this is the your situation, add the user to AD again and then delete the user from the collaboration room - and AD.

Help: Collaboration Room Bugs/Issues

Hi,
I have created my own collaboration room template by duplicating the standard Information Site template.
However, i am facing a few issues related to collaboration room creation, which might be standard features/bugs in collaboration room.
1. When i create a new Room, all the users of that room (members as well as administrators) get full access to room documents, headers, news, Faqs etc.
The permissions started working fine when i changed permissions in KM Content --> Room_Extensions.
All the existing rooms showed the correct permissions.
However, whenever i create a new room, every user gets full permissions to all the parts of the room.
This is despite the fact that i have removed all the users from full permissions to the room_extensions folder in KM and reset the child permissions.
2. I have attached the iView com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer/iViews/ com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomMemberList (Team Members iView)to my room template.
When i create a new room based on my template, i do not get the users specific to a particular room.
What i get in the Team members list is all the users listed in the Contacts list in Collaboration Launch Pad.
3. When i try to preview some of the iViews stored in com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer, i get an exception. On attaching these iViews to the Collaboration Rooms, i get a message stating "Invalid Item ID" index.xml.
I get the same message even after attaching these iViews to a collaboration room template and creating a room based on the template.
Any help regarding these issues would be highly appreciated. Full points for helping me with these issues.

here my comments:
1) These are the standard settings (every room member gets full access) for the permissions of KM content created during a Room creation. Since KM can't distinguish between the room roles, we can't set 'better/stronger' permissions. You can only set manually permissions on concrete users.
2) It seems that you have not set the mappings for this iView. For the RoomMemberList you need the following settings:
StartURI        room_rootrolegroup_rid
path            room_rootrolegroup_rid
roomrid         roomid
in the documentation you find more mappings for iViews delivered by SAP, which You have to set in the templates.

3) That's possible since some of the iViews needs certain iView-Parameters set to work properly. Please check if this iView needs some mappings under the link in the documentation under 2)
4) Up to now we are treating groups as you described. We are working on a solution where we work with groups as room members and we don't resolve the members of the invited/added group.

Reporting authorization issue after BI 701 05 EHP1 upgrade

We have recently upgraded our BI 7.0 to BI 701 EHP1 with 05 patch level. After this we had a problem with reporting authorizations for a report (query), which has created under Virtual Infoprovider.
Earlier the report use to be execute perfectly with authorizations S_RS_ICUBE object with Act 03, Subobject DATA, but after upgrade to EHP1, while executing report its throwing a error pasted below.

After running st01 trace we identified the missing authorization is S_RS_ICUBE with Act 03, subobject DEFINATION.
Here please tell why is the subobject check is performed to execute a report (query), as this is happening after EHP1 upgrade, so let me know if anyone had any clue on this ...

The assumption what you made are correct, but these are the possible reasons only. Is there any specific note or any info from sap that these changes came due to the new release change, so that i can tell my manager clearly.
And I am not sure whether this is impacting the reports which using the VirtualProviders (Virtual CUBE) in place. If you could get bit more information that will be helpful...Thanks in advance.

Collaboration rooms not showing up in the rooms tab after patch 34 upgrade

Hi,
We recently upgrade our EP6 SP2 Patch 5 CM Patch 5 Hotfix 4 to Patch 34.
After the patch 34, we do not see our collaboration rooms in the rooms tab. We can access the rooms from the email generated when we created the room, but when we go to rooms tab we do not see any rooms in the list.

Hi Ravi,
this sounds like the behaviour when TREX is used for the room overview (and the index isn't complete when calling the iView). From SAP notes (877937), this on SP2 should be the case from P35 on. I had P33 and moved directly to P35, so I cannot say if the note may be wrong and this was eventually introduced with P34. At least, check the settings. Need to know which collaboration room to use for my requirement

I have a very limited idea of KMC. I am in Composite Developement
I have a reqiurement in which a person A needs to invite some other persons to discuss an issue and after the discussion with them needs to take a decision. But any of these persons can be offline. So they may not reply in real time but after they log into the portal. The participants should be able to see the previous discussions which they missed so that they can get info of what discussions has taken place while he/she was away.
Please help me as to which collaboration room i should use for this and some guidance also how to set it up .

You can use standard Discussion rooms for ur requirement.
They are basically used for asynchrnous collaboration purpose in which case users might be offline.

Collaboration Room - Null Link

Hi all,
Ive created a new room template. First, I create a new workset and save it inside com.sap.ip.collaboration -> worksets
All the iviews and pages of that workset are inside com.sap.ip.collaboration -> TemplateAndPartContent -> Generic
After that, I create the new template using the wizard inside Content Admin -> Collaboration Content.
Ive 4 pages. Two of them, are custom and the others two are for Administrarion (Room Admin, Member Admin).
The four pages are assign it to the Admin Role and only the custom pages are assign it to the member role.
When I create a new room using my template, the admin user, see all the pages, so it is fine, but when I enter to the room with a member, he sees the two customs pages and two links "null". All of this is in the detailed navigation. For example:

Created a SAP_test room and reproduced the issue
Goto portal content -> com.sap.ip.collaboration ->
TemplateAndPartContent -> Generic -> Pages
Permissions for Admin: Room Page are set for Everyone group
***It has to be None***
Changed this to None and retest logging into SAP_test room with a non
Admin user, everything is displayed fine
To resolve the overall issue plesae reset all the permissions for the
Generic pages for everyone group to None.

After following the basic configuration steps for collaboration, we do not see the error:
com.sap.netweaver.coll.room.api.util.RoomResourceException: Cannot get resource /room_extensions/cm_stores/TEMPLATES/MeetingRoom/Links: Cannot get resource /room_extensions/cm_stores/TEMPLATES/MeetingRoom/Links
but this error is still there and the room creation wizard failed again:
Property type is not multi-valued com.sapportals.wcm.repository.ResourceException: Property type is not multi-valued
any help is much appreciated...

Collaboration Room iViews give error -- Database related errors -- Pls Help

We are on EP 6.0 SP 17 (Netweaver 2004).
KMC component was installed separately (Deployed manually).
We are trying to create simple Collaboration Rooms and we are facing some issues with the same.
I am following the documentation on SAP Help for the Room Creation:

We are able to create rooms based on pre-defined templates and we are also able to add members to rooms, send/receive the invitation emails. I am able to work with Instant Messaging also.
But the problem is that some of the iViews related to Collaboration Rooms are giving errors.
1. Discussion iView gives an error saying You do not have access permission (even the user has all the necessary roles assigned).
Log for this error is as follows:

Are there any database related configurations required for making the Collaboration Room Discussion functionality work properly?
Are there any KM related configurations necessary other than those mentioned in the document I am referring to?
Are there any database related configurations that are required?

do u use Collaboration first time?
Yes, we just started using Collaboration and this is our first requirement.
Which roles do u have?
I have all the required roles (Super Admin, Content Management, Collaboration, Collaboration Room Creation).
I know that these features are available in NW04 SP 17 without any limitations. I have reviewed SAP Notes 707730, 711093, 709354 and 946470 also.
This problem is with only a few Collaboration iViews.
I am able to create Rooms, Enter Rooms, Receive Invitation e-mails without any problem.
Any suggestions about any possible missing configurations ?

"404 Error - The requested resource does not exist" found in portal for Collaboration room

Hi Experts,
I am trying to resolve this issue since a week but not able to solve it, so i need your help.
The Problem is when i assign a collaboration room to a user, the room is assigned but when the user clicks on the room link it gives the "404 Error - The requested resource doesn't exist". But if a new room is created and give access to the user, the user is able to open the new room through the link and view the documents.
The Unique thing about the error is, it doesn't occur for every user it happens with few users, since I am the super_admin I am able to view all the rooms without getting such "404 error" even for once.
I have tried by setting up all the permissions to the room and also assigning Everyone role to the rooms, still the problem persists.
I am unable to find a solution for this, so need your help.

Problem with collaboration rooms

Hi all,
I have a prolem in collaboration rooms, After i create a room, i will get a link to enter the room. when i click on the link, i am able to enter the room but with an error saying
"No connection to groupware server (No logon data found for system lotussystem). Refresh this screen or contact your system administrator if the problem persists"
Can anyone please help me why the error is??? and also what should be done for this.

Users should be mapped to appropriate systems through a user name and password.
In your case navigate to USer Management and enter an appropriate Username and password for the system lotussystem through the User mapping tab. The User name and password would be used to logon to the system.
This should solve the problem.

A user can only see the public area in a collaboration room

Hi all,
We have experienced that a certain user can only see the public area of
a collaboration room although the user has member rights to see more
content.
We have tried to remove the user from the room and add him again. It
did not help.
Other users have been added before and after this user without problems.
What could be wrong with this user?

Collaboration Rooms in System Copy

Hi
We created a copy of a production SAP NetWeaver 7.01 Portal and we are using this copy as the QA environment.
In the original Portal (PRD), some users are assigned to some Collaboration Rooms and they can assign the rooms.
In the copy (QA), same users seem to be assigned to the same Collaboration Rooms, but when they click on the link to access the room they get an error message.
After doing a copy of a portal, should users still be able to access the Collaboration Rooms in the copy system?

Error in Web Service with Collaboration Room API

Hi experts,
I'm developing a web service for creating Collaboration Rooms. I tested my source in a Web Dynpro Project and everything worked.
Now I placed my code inside a web service, and the service gives a nullpointer exception in this line:
IRooms roomsAPI = (IRooms)PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(IRooms.PORTAL_SERVICE_ID);
I think I have to make some references inside my web service project, but I don't know which and I don't know where.
Can somebody please help me with this issue?
