Collaboration Room part

To all,
I wish to use the element Date Announcements from inside collaboration rooms in another part of the portal. Is this possible? If so where would I find this element in the PCD?
Thanks
Richard

Date announcement is an iView like any other. So you can use it also in other parts of the portal.
Just have a look in a templateWorkset of a room which uses the dateannouncement and trace the delta link to make out the location in pcd.
Hope the info is helpful, please let me know.
Cheers Andreas

  • CM Patch 5 and adding Room Parts to old Collaboration Rooms

    Hi,
We have just upgraded our portal to EP6 SP2 Patch5 for the portal and EP6 SP2 Patch5 Hotfix4 for the KMC.
When trying to add a standard Room Part to a Collaboration Room that was created in KMC Patch4 an error occurs.
The error message written to the console error log is rather long but the most interesting part is:
    --- Nested WDF Exception -
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         at com.sap.ip.collaboration.room.impl.RoomObject.getAllInternalParameters(RoomObject.java:799)
         at com.sap.ip.collaboration.room.impl.RoomObject.createRoomPartInstance(RoomObject.java:2371)
         at com.sap.ip.collaboration.roomui.api.maintenance.model.MaintenanceInfo.createRoomPartInstance(MaintenanceInfo.java:1384)
Is anyone else having a similar experience?
Has anyone successfully added a Room Part to a Collaboration Room created using Patch4?
    Brgds,
    Pierre

    Hi Pierre,
i'm afraid there is no possibility to add room parts to a collaboration room created using Patch4. The reason must be lying in the use of the old CM stores and not the extensions stores. Some old functionalities like "publishing to public folder" are also not available anymore for new rooms with Patch5 because of the use of extensions.

  • Problem with Collaboration FAQ room part

I'm having a strange problem with the FAQ room part (SP16).
The first time I go to the room, the FAQ works fine. If I navigate somewhere else and come back the FAQ iView is blank.
I have quit the browser and come back, it's still blank.
I have switched browsers (from IE to Firefox) and it works, but only once like IE. After that it's blank again.
I've loggen out, cleared the cache and forced a reload all with the same results (still blank).
However, if I close all my browsers and wait an hour or so before I try again, it works. I'm not sure if it takes an hour exactly. I usually go to lunch and it works when I come back.
    Any Ideas?

    Hi Chirstopher
I am also facing the same problem, if you have fixed the issue, could you please share the solution with me.I need to fix the issue immediatly. I appreciate if you can give me an approach to fix this.
    Thanks

  • Some questions on Collaboration rooms

    HI,
In some of the room templates I found an extension BANNER. But how do I configure a Banner for my room I couldnt find.
I want to add a quick poll to my room template which I developed. How do I go about this.
The Search Room functionality: DOes this require TREX set up and if so what do I need to index for it to work.
Now in a collaboration room if i have a documents page which is a navigation page, the end user gets access to Move, Copy, Delete etc etc on the resources. How do I remove such links?
If I need to create any other such iView like a BI iView in my room template, how do I go about this?
Points assured for a Detailed Answer.

    thanks vijayakumar kanniah mohan
The room part works once I already have 2-3 created rooms.
Suppose I wish to add a quickpoll to the tenmplate will it reflect fo all the rooms which have been priorly created using this template.
In such a scenario, what can I do?
e.g. My template is MYTEMPLATE out of which I create ROOM 1 and ROOM 2. I can go and add room parts to those 2 rooms. But what if I want to just edit the room template and say add the quick poll to an existing page there. How do I get it reflected in ROOM 1,2.
Also I didnt quite get the answer to the Banner question.
I have the folowing Extensions in the room tempalte:
    Banner
    cmRoomExtensionSP2FP
    ON_CREATE_ROOM
    ON_DELETE_ROOM
    Contacts
    cmRoomExtensionSP2FP

  • How to change layout set in KM room part...

    Hi,
My company is currently using EP6 SP15 and is in the process of trialing the use of Collaboration room.
One of the feedback from our users is that they do not like the layout of the KM document room part. What they would like to use is the "Tree list Preview Explorer" layout. Can someone point me to any documentation on how this could be done?
    Thanks,
    Thomas Siu

    Hi Thomas,
It is easy to do this for a single room to experiment
before changing the iView settings for the template which would affect new rooms. You can go into the Details for the root folder of your room part and call up the "Presentation Settings". Then choose the "ConsumerTreeListPreview" as the Layout set.
In my rooms I typically add a set of extra links in the Room Links iView (perhaps restricted to the admins) that provide an Admin Explorer view and a WebDAV link. These look something like this:
    https://myportal/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.navigation/room_extensions/cm_stores/documents/workspaces/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX?rndLayoutSet=AdminExplorer
    javascript:document.write('<div id=mydiv><a href=https://myportal/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/room_extensions/cm_stores/documents/workspaces/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX/ folder=https://myportal/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/room_extensions/cm_stores/documents/workspaces/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX>Click here if page fails to redirect.<\/a><\/div>');mydiv.addBehavior('\x23default\x23httpFolder');mydiv.navigateFrame('https://myportal/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/room_extensions/cm_stores/documents/workspaces/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX','_self');
Obviously, you need to change "myportal" to your portal name/domain and "XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX" to your room store GUID. These links make maintaining room content easier.
I also typically make the top folder a bit prettier by  using a taxonomy-like view with a grid of big folder icons with be links.

    Darin

  • Help: Collaboration Room Bugs/Issues

    Hi,
I have created my own collaboration room template by duplicating the standard Information Site template.
However, i am facing a few issues related to collaboration room creation, which might be standard features/bugs in collaboration room.
    1. When i create a new Room, all the users of that room (members as well as administrators) get full access to room documents, headers, news, Faqs etc.
The permissions started working fine when i changed permissions in KM Content --> Room_Extensions.
All the existing rooms showed the correct permissions.
However, whenever i create a new room, every user gets full permissions to all the parts of the room.
This is despite the fact that i have removed all the users from full permissions to the room_extensions folder in KM and reset the child permissions.
    2. I have attached the iView com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer/iViews/ com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomMemberList (Team Members iView)to my room template.
When i create a new room based on my template, i do not get the users specific to a particular room.
What i get in the Team members list is all the users listed in the Contacts list in Collaboration Launch Pad.
    3. When i try to preview some of the iViews stored in com.sap.ip.collaboration/TemplateContent/Homer, i get an exception. On attaching these iViews to the Collaboration Rooms, i get a message stating "Invalid Item ID" index.xml.
I get the same message even after attaching these iViews to a collaboration room template and creating a room based on the template.
Any help regarding these issues would be highly appreciated. Full points for helping me with these issues.
    Regards,
    Vibhu

    Hi Vibhu,
    here my comments:
    1) These are the standard settings (every room member gets full access) for the permissions of KM content created during a Room creation. Since KM can't distinguish between the room roles, we can't set 'better/stronger' permissions. You can only set manually permissions on concrete users.
    2) It seems that you have not set the mappings for this iView. For the RoomMemberList you need the following settings:
    StartURI        room_rootrolegroup_rid
    path            room_rootrolegroup_rid
    roomrid         roomid
in the documentation you find more mappings for iViews delivered by SAP, which You have to set in the templates.
Please see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3f/fcfe06fd7f1321e10000000a114cbd/content.htm for more information.
    3) That's possible since some of the iViews needs certain iView-Parameters set to work properly. Please check if this iView needs some mappings under the link in the documentation under 2)
    4) Up to now we are treating groups as you described. We are working on a solution where we work with groups as room members and we don't resolve the members of the invited/added group.
    Regards, Erwin

  • How to set a room part as default in a room template?

    Hi,
Can you please tell me how to configure a room part as the default one for a room template. The requirement is that this room part must be the first one to be opened when a room of the specific template is opened inside collaborations. NW7.0 . Please provide you suggestions.
    Thankyou in advance..

    Hello Lorcan,
Thank you for the information. But even after trying to set it as extension the changes was not getting reflected. Another way which I tried to set the room part as default after adding the extensions is below:
Content Administration -> Portal Content -> com.sap.ip.Collaboration -> Template Worksets (where the customized templates are there)->In the selected template I tried setting the property "Default Entry for Folder" as yes for room part "Documents".
As of now room part "Task" is opened as default for the room but I want "Documents" to be opened by default. Please advice on the same.
    Thank you in advance..

  • Accessing KM Content from Collaboration room & Storing rooms in KM

    Hi all
We have a scenario. We want to access KM Content from collaboration rooms. Is it possible?
When we create a Room Template can we change the 'Path to Initially Displayed Folder'  to anything other than  ' /room ' ?
Our problem is we want all the room parts to be stored inside our KM.
If anybody knows the answer please help us
    Regards
    Aparnna

    Hi Aparna,
Your requirement is definitely possible and that's the reason for me to provide the earlier link for configuration.
Also see this link on  <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/4fd9ac6c5c3c40e10000000a422035/frameset.htm">Providing Target Folders for Room Documents</a>
Here you find information about "Configure Entry Point Providers" and "Prepare the Entry Point with a KM Folder of Your Choice " which would point your rooms to the repository of your choice.
    Hope this helps.

    Venkat.

  • Adding Roomparts to Collaborations Rooms - without folders?

    Hi All!
I have a question regarding RoomParts in collaborations rooms.
When i try to add a RoomPart to my existing collboration coom
they always gets added as  a folders with a link to the part.
But this i not very "handy" because all the other parts of the room are just normal links in the detailed navigation area, and then the added Roompart looks confusing when it is added as a folder.
So is it possible to add a Roompart which will show up as a Link instead of a folder?
    Help is much apreciated.
    Best regards.
    Ronni Hostrup

    Hi Ronni,
If you Try to add SAP room parts in your existing room, they would be added as a folder into a room, because this is the way SAP have delievered.
If you want to add Room part as a link, you can develop your custom room template using custom Workset and then create collaboration room using that Template.
    Hope This Helps

  • Null links in collaboration room

    Hello,
I created a collaboration room with the following room parts:
    Project Home
    Documents and Links
    Tasks
    Admin: Room
    Admin: Members and Room Relations
    Team Members
of these, Admin:Room and Admin:Members and Room Relations are assigned only to Admin members.
When I create a rrom using this template and enter as Admin, everything is fine. The problem is: whenever I am login with Members role, I am getting 2 null links in place of Admin: Room and Admin: Members and Room Relations.
I have tried following https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1196685 but without any success. I already have these 2 pages permission set for everyone as Read (End user checked).
    I am on EP 7.0 SP16.
    Please help

Closing for other questions. Had to create new room template for this resolution.

  • Collaboration Room in Top Level Navigation

    Hello,
We want to link directly from the Top Level Navigation to a collaboration room, and not have to go via the collaboration room navigator. I know about the direct URL to a room but preferable I would want to navigate to an iView that kicks of the navigation room.
    Regards
    Mattias

    Hi Simon,
when you look at the room properties in the room maintenance, you get a Room-URL.
Use the parts of this link, that come after "/irj/portal" and add it to the URL of the modified Default Framework Page.
You will get an Room embedded into the portal navigation almost in a way, you requested.
But if you use this approach, the detailed Navigation of the collaboration room does not look like it should look.
Does anyone know, how to fix this?
    Regards,
    Josef

  • Error when accessing Administration of Room Part Templates

    Hi Geoff,
this is probably caused by some internal ASP.NET caches going out of synch (not a WT issue). Try to delete the Temporary ASP.NET Files directory (located in %SYSTEMROOT%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727) and restart IIS, and it should help.

  • Attributing Documents in the public area of a Collaboration Room

Is there a way you can attribute documents to your taxonomy that are stored in the public area of a collaboration room?

Thanks for your response Stephen but I've already think about that.
Actually, the room part "KM Document" works with an external parameter manually entered by the user.
So, I just have to create an external parameter and enter the real path after the creation of the room.
Are there any other standard solutions ?
