Collage screensaver missing in 10.8.

I recently upgraded to 10.8 and now the collage screensaver is missing.  The new snapshot screensaver does not work near as well.  We used it in our sales room as peole were waiting and really miss it.  Is there any way to get the old one back?

I never used Lion.  Sorry.  However, I did do a Google searched for a downloadable version of Lion's collage screensaver.  Came up empty.  Discovered there are a lot of complaints from disappointed users who want it back in ML.  I did find one site.  Not sure if the collage is in there.  You may wanna check it out:  Top 10 free OS X Lion screensavers
Another discovery:  ML screensaver snapshot option is just not the same per the complainers.  Did you try it?

  • Photo Collage Screensaver

Is there any way to get the photo collage screensaver to read EXIF data rather than file created data? I just had to go in and touch all of my photos to a date because when I moved them over to this computer, they all got stamped with that date as the file creation. So even now not all the dates are completely accurate because I touched by folder.
I realize that's not major at all and I'm probably the only person who's ever thought about it, but still.

Put the images into an app that works with Exif and integrates with the the ScreenSaver - an Aperture Project or an iPhoto Album, for example.

  • Collage Screensaver as movie

I would like to create a movie of still shots to summarize a year in the life of a school - all the images taken by teachers over the year of activities their students have done. What I would love is the effect of the Collage Screensaver in the Desktop and Screensaver preferences where pictures fall as if someone is throwing photos in a pile. Anyone know of a haxxie for this or a way of achieving a similar effect. Thanks very much for any help
    Cheers

  • Collage Screensaver

I love Maverick's and Yosemite but one awesome feature lost was the "collage feature on screensaver"!
It was such a brilliant feature and not just myself but many other Mac users I talk to not just liked it but loved and miss it hugely.
Does anyone know why this awesome feature was removed and is there any chance of persuading Apple to bring it back?

  • Macbook pro "Desktop and screensaver" missing

I don't know how this actually happened. But one day I was tired of my screensaver and went to go change it. So when I clicked on system preferences I noticed the "Desktop and screensaver" pane missing. I don't even know how long it's been like this. Is there any way to fix this without losing any data I have on my macbook?

I am having the same issue.

  • Collage Screensaver - names and dates don't show up

In the collage setting of Screensaver, the photo dates and names don't show up, even though I selected the option to include them. I could not figure this out, so took it to the Genius Bar. After about 20 minutes of trying this and that, he rebuilt the cache, and voila - the names and dates were there. I shut it off, took it home, turned in on - same problem. So I rebuilt the thumbnails. Nothing. Cannot get the names and dates to show. Seems like a silly little problem, but I love the collage; and when the pictures come up, I'd like to be reminded of what year they were taken!
Thank you if you've had this problem and figured it out!

Went back to the Genius Bar today, and he reinstalled Leopard. That did it! Thanks to my Genius for not making me feel silly for caring so much about a label for my pictures!

  • IPhoto screensaver missing after upgrade to Snow Leopard

I have 3 Macs, all upgraded to Snow Leopard at the same time last year. For some reason one of them no longer has the iPhoto screensaver available from System Preferences. It's also not available as a choice for desktop picture. All 3 computers were upgraded from Leopard, all 3 used an album from iPhoto for screensaver and desktop background, but on one of the computers the iPhoto choice is no longer available in System Preferences for either screen saver or desktop background.
I'm currently using simply a folder of pictures for screen saver, but that means I've duplicated the images as files outside of iPhoto and an album in iPhoto. It's been this way for months, but I want to clean up the disk space and get rid of the external folder of pictures and get back to using the iPhoto album.
Suggestions as to what to do to restore the iPhoto choice in System Prefs? I'm running iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2 and SL 10.6.3.
    Thanks

Exactly what's missing? Is there an option to select an iPhoto Album in the SystemPreferences and it can't find the Library? Or simply no option in SystemPreferences?
    Regards

  • IPhoto Metadata and the Collage Screen Saver

I'm loving the new screen savers that came with Leopard, and I like the collage screensaver. I have good information that I entered in the iPhoto "info" box for photo names and dates. However, when I turn on the "Annotated" option in Desktop & Screen Saver preferences, it only displays the original File name and date (some stupid names instead like "P1764670" instead of "Camping at Inks Lake"...and sometimes the original date on a photo was wrong, so I correct them)...Is there a way to make the Collage screensaver look at the data I've painstakingly entered into iPhoto? At the very least, is there a way to migrate the data from iPhoto to rename the files and dates of certain photos? Does iPhoto '08 offer a solution that iPhoto 6 does not?
    Thanks
    iPhoto 6.0.6

The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos.  However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled.  What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

  • Screensaver photo orientation

I love using the random photo screensaver in OS X.  I have noticed that some portrait oriented shots appear sideways in the screensaver.  When I go to them in the finder, they are correctly oriented, as the EXIF data should encourage.  Does the screensaver miss this Nikon D 80 EXIF data?
    Thanks, so much!
    Sincerely,
    ~George

    Which OS are you using?
I believe that old versions of Windows (XP and earlier) did not understand the orientation flag that is stored in the EXIF data. Most modern cameras have orientation sensors, and the save the orientation when the photo was taken in the EXIF data for the photo (the EXIF data is metadata that is stored along with the photo data in a jpg file).
Any decent photo browser will understand the EXIF data and will display the photo properly without having to manually rotate the photo. However, if you manually rotate the photo in Windows, the photo data will be rotated, but the orientation flag will not be changed. When the photo is loaded into the iPad, it interprets the marker in the EXIF metadata and rotates the photo a second time.
I'm not sure that this is your problem, but if it is your problem, then the photo is being displayed incorrectly on the PC, and the iPad is displaying it "correctly".
If you think this might be the problem, try installing a program called irfanview on your PC. You can download it at: http://www.irfanview.com
It is a great public domain image viewer program. If you install it, try looking at your photos in irfanview and see if it also rotates your photos like the iPad does.

p.s. I can understand how what is happening must be annoying. The photo will be displayed incorrectly, and as you instinctively rotate the iPad to fix it, it auto-rotates again leaving the photo always in the wrong orientation.
My OS is windows 7. So to fix it, I should rotate my pictures in my pc folder in landscape mode so that in the ipad it will be in portrait? As of right now in my pc folder my landscape pictures is in landscape in ipad but my portrait pictures is also in landscape in ipad. And no matter what I do, the portrait ones are always landscape. I've deleted the ipod photo cache and resynced. And no changed.

  • Screensaver that displays picture or faces named in iPhoto

Does anyone know of a photo screen saver that displays either the location or the names of the people you've identified in Faces in iPhoto? I find when the current Annotated Collage screensaver (the one with the most information displayed, photo name and date) is showing people watching it are always asking me who is in the picture and where it is so it'd be nice to have that displayed since the information is in there already. Are these screensavers just Quartz Composer files that can be edited to add that info?

    Dear TD,
Thanks for the link... I watched it and I whent Ah Ha!  I had been tagging faces in the FACES menu... and NOT in the iPhoto viewing panel... So I went back into iPhot and operned and library and then an Event and opend an image in the event... and Lo and behold... there was NO face tag in the lower left of the screen as shown in the vide ( It shows how one opens a photo and  showld draw a box around any face and when the face button is clicked you are given the opportuniy to identify that face.)
How do I get THAT to happen... I am using iPhoto11.
    Thanks

  • Screensaver Freezing in 10.5.1

Is anybody else having issues with their screensaver freezing since upgrading to 10.5.1?
Whichever screensaver I use it freezes after 15 seconds or so. The Mac doesn't freeze, just the screensaver, but it doesn't half spoil the new iPhoto Collage screensaver.

I've come across a bug a couple of times now: the Apple screensaver (Solid Colors) isn't waking up properly everytime. The System does work, but the screen itself will not be refreshed until you actually start moving things around in the Finder. For example, if it's happening then I press the spacebar to select some item on the Desktop, then I'll press Command-O to open up a window. Then I start dragging around that window to make the whole desktop visible again..
Take a look at the screenshot below to find out what I mean:
Did anyone else come across this bug yet?

  • Missing Cosmos ScreenSaver

Cosmos.slideSaver is still installed under /System/Library/Screen Savers/Cosmos.slideSaver, but this screensaver is no longer an option in Mountain Lion.
Does anyone know how to get it back?

    Hi, rossiman01.
Duplicate or missing preference panes — what you thought to be folders in System Preferences — are usually caused by cache corruption. To resolve this:
    1. Quit System Preferences if it is open.
    2. Open your Home > Library > Caches folder.
    3. Trash the following two files therein:
    • com.apple.preferencepanes.cache
    • com.apple.preferencepanes.searchindexcache
    4. Empty the Trash.
    5. Launch System Preferences and all should be well.

  • "@" missing on screensaver - e71 NAM

I just noticed something since I updated to 9.6.0.12 (the one with improved html): when the phone has the screensaver on (dimmed display with the time and date) and a new email message comes in, the "@" does not display on the screensaver.
It used to display the "@" on the screensaver in previous versions.
I wonder if this is a bug or a new feature.

  • Is there a way to use the photos from iphoto in a collage like the itunes artwork screensaver?

is there a way to use the photos from iphoto in a collage like the itunes artwork screensaver?

Yes except i would like it to look like the itunes album artwork screen saver does.  the itunes album artwork screen saver shows a bunch of squares and when one of the boxes changes it spins and goes to the next album artwork
what you have indicated above is kind of like a slide show where it shows you one of your pictures and zooms out to show you a collage version of another one of your pictures.  i would like it to be formatted similar to the way the itunes screen saver is.
if you click on itunes artwork on the same menu as shown in your last post, you will see what i am trying to achieve.
