Collaps of notebook during image export after a certain amound of pictures

When I try to export a bigger collection of pictures, my notebook collapses a getting of after a certain amount of pictures. I have tried it two times and the amount of images when appears the collaps is the same.
It looks like, that export of images is very limited on my notebook. I am using LR 5.5, the notebook has SSD harddisk with anough free space.
Has anybody an idea what could by the reason?
RFA

Hello dj_paige,
I made the following two tests:
   1. export of total 276 images, size 4608 x 2592 pix, export to harddisc,
size after export 4608 x 2592 pix, 240 dpi, 24 dpi, collaps after 123 images
   2. export of total 276 images, size 4608 x 2592 pix, export to harddisc,
export parameters picture size max 1080x1080 pix, pictures size after
   export 768 x 576 pix, 240 dpi, 24 bit, collaps after 212 elements
How does the collaps look like: when collaps appears, the power of the
notebook is just switching off. No error message, no warning - just getting
OFF. After restart of the notebook, the only hint is, that windows asks
wheather you will start on normal way or in safety mode. That all.
According to my opinion, there is a problem like LR handles the RAM. Even I
would increase the RAM, if I will export accordingly more images, the same
will happen.

I am exporting a Pages document to Epub and Pages is compressing my jpg images (I think to 72 dpi from original 600 dpi).
How do I keep the original jpg size during the export to epub process?

We are still trying learn how to use Pages to build ePub documents with high resolution graphics that will expand clearly when they are tapped. Very large screen shots are my example here.

  • Keeping video proportions during still image export/import

What I'm doing is exporting a still image to the Mac desktop, then dropping it into Photo-to-Movie where I create pans and zooms on it, then exporting the pan/zoom sequence as a Quicktime movie that I drop back into FCE and splice into the Timeline.
Trouble is, the image in the pan/zoom sequence always comes back into FCE distorted (elongated), I guess because the exported still image that it was made from reverts to the square pixels during the export process from FCE.
So, my question is, in what form should I export the still image from FCE so that it retains the proportions it has in the video, so that when I operate on it in Photo-to-Movie and then bring it back into FCE, it still has the proportions of a video (NTSC) image?
In other words, I need to retain the video (NTSC) image's proportions throughout the process of export, then creating pan/zooms on it in Photo-to-Movie, and then reimporting it into FCE.
To accomplish this, I presume I have to either export it from FCE in some special NTSC-video-compatible form, or else convert it in Photoshop to an NTSC-compatible image before I drop it into PTM, create the pan/zoom sequence, and then bring that sequence back into FCE.
I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest a solution to this problem.
    Tom

    Hello Tom Baker 1
My friend let me tell you something - I TOTALLY share your frustrations, and disgust with the poor results of Keyframe (within FCE).
I am not a software engineer, but my perseverance to try and try again, is far above average.
At the risk of getting on a soapbox, (and I can attest to my excellent equipment capability), please believe me, (like yourself), I've paid my dues trying to get Keyframing to work suitably with stills in FCE.
I think I can safely say, beyond all doubt, if you want to get satisfactory results in regard to pans and zooms, (without being a math major), some options for reliability and smoothness are: 'Photo to Movie' (just as you're doing), Fotomagico, http://boinx.com/fotomagico/overview/, (although I've only heard it's pretty good) - haven't tried it yet.
    OR
A recent discovery of mine: Lyric Media Pan and Zoom http://www.lyric.com/fcp-plugins/panzoompro/pzp.htm - The really nice thing about this is that it's a FC, or FCE Plug In, and utilizes FC's keyframe software engine. Why is it different than Keyframe by itself in FCE? Because (so far), what I can see is that it sort of fixes the mickey-mousery, herky-jerky nightmare of Keyframe within FCE. To me it sure looks like it can take whatever pixel size you throw at it, (and without being a math major having to apply cautionary resizing to every darn still), it just does the job. Yes it seems to do the re-sizing for you, and consequently produces smooth, reliable motion to stills.
Of course the advantage to this is that you're finally using an application (within FCE), to create your pans and stills right there. No exporting/importing of QT files as with Photo to Movie, or iMovie. And the parameters of control are more sophicated than Photo to Movie.
Again, I'm still working with it, and I still need to master it, but it sure beats keyframe.
    One side note:
I really love the crispness of an iMovie pan or zoom, but we all know by now that it's downfall are the dreaded 'JAGGIES'. As confirmed here on the forum, what seems to make Photo to Movie work so well, is the fact that by it's very nature of design, it automatically smoothes out, and probably reduces or resizes images so that they will NOT produce unwanted glistening (aliasing). And as once said here, your eye will accept this softening of an image, far better than the Jaggies, or the herky jerky.
With all that said, I hope I didn't rant on too much - as I mentioned, there's nothing like 'experience'.
    Peace
    Mike

  • Image won't export after using Aperture 2's new retouching tools

After I used the new retouching tools: clone and repair in Aperture 2 on a small jpeg image from a Canon point and shoot, I tried to export my image to desktop. Although the exporting "wheel" indicated the image was being exported it showed nothing after 10 minutes and I had to cancel the export. After I "Removed Adjustments" it exported in a flash. Other images that had not been retouched and retouched RAW images exported just fine. I have reported a bug to Apple. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem with the Aperture trial until I deleted my Aperture library and re-installed the trial. I had previously (about a year ago) installed an earlier version Aperture trial and I might have still had the old library file on my hard drive. I wonder if the Aperture 2 trial upgraded the old library and corrupted it. After I reinstalled, export is still slow when retouch is used, but it works. If you don't have much invested in your Aperture library, you might try backing it up, deleting it and creating a new one. I'm just speculating, though.

Hi there! So I am using Lightroom 3 on a pc and I have ran into an issue when exporting images. The DPI and image size (in inches) that I am selecting during the export process. For example I just exported a collection and set the dpi to 180 and the size to 7 inches on the long edge. My exported result is 457 dpi and sized at 3200x2134 pixels.. Any ideas on why this is happening and what I can do to correct it?

The DPI setting in a digital image has no meaning at all. You need to learn how to calculate what you need in your exported image. The only measurement in a digital image that has any meaning is the number of pixels in each direction. It doesn't matter what you set that DPI to (actually it's PPI or pixels per inch). The image will have the same number of pixels regardless of the setting. If you need an image that is 5 x 7" (for example) at 200 PPI then you would want an image that measured:
    5 x 200 = 1000 pixels
    7 x 200 = 1400 pixels
So you would need an image that is 1000 x 1400 pixels to have a 5 x 7" image at 200 PPI. The reason your exported image had such a high PPI setting is because you specified the number of inches you wanted the image to be. And there were enough pixels in the image that it calculated out to be that high PPI setting.
I apologize, I don't explain this very well. But you need to learn to do the math to determine how large you really want your exported images to be.

  • ZenAgent Reboots During Imaging After Upgrade

    Went from 11.2.3a > 11.3 > 11.3.1 > 11.3.1 FRU1
Zenworks is rebooting during application installs during imaging now. Here is the message: "Your system is being restarted to finish applying the Zenworks configuration changes that have occurred."
I found this article, but it doesn't apply to this version: https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7009609
How can I prevent the restart from happening?

    Nzorn,
then I'd say it would be worth opening a Support incident with us at ENGL, then I can take a look at the logs... if it turns out to be a Novell issue, then we can bring the conversation back here...
I'd want a debug zim.log https://www.engl.co.uk/kb/tid-2006018.htm and possiblt with the imaging codes as well https://www.engl.co.uk/kb/tid-2011007.htm

  • Problems found during the EXPORT to specified keyin table.

    Hi
I am getting this error in sending iDOC system( We have iDOC-XI-iDOC Scenario.) I tried to reregister the queues but still nothing is passing thru XI.
    Thanks,
    Manish

Acutally I am getting this DUMP in ST22.
    <i><b>ShrtText                                                                                |
Problems found during the EXPORT to specified key in table.
    What happened?
    Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "CL_XMS_PERSIST================CP" had to be
    terminated because one of the
    statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
    What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
    error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
    date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
    Error analysis
The table " " does not contain any data records with the specified key.
The system called the internal SAP database interface because it
expected to find such a key.
    How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
    use the following search criteria:
    "EXPORT_TABLE_UPDATE_CONFLICT" C
    "CL_XMS_PERSIST================CP" or "CL_XMS_PERSIST================CM00W"
    "INSERT_MSG_ALL"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
    1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
    Save->Local File (unconverted)".
    2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
    "System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
    3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
    supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
    Upload/Download->Download".
    4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.
    Information on where terminated
The termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_XMS_PERSIST================CP"

  • Still images exported to DVD look deinterlaced and flicker on TV monitor

    Hi,
I have tried tried almost everything and I still have issues with the still images exported to DVD as sequencefrom FCP 7.0 by using Compressor are deinterlaced and flicker on TV monitor. Please help remove the annoying flicker.
My FCP Timeline Sequence settings match the image resolution:
    Frame Size: 1024 x 682 (double of 720 x 480 standard DVD res)
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
    Field Dominance: None
Compressor: Photo JPG (also tried, DVCPRO-NTSC)
I cropped the original images in Photoshop to the 1024 x 682 and saved as tiffs. They still look deinterlaced in FCP timeline and exported to DVD on my iMac computer monitor.
Final output of DVD will be on this monitor:
    Specifications:
    Ikegami
    Model: VCM-2101
    Resolution: 450 TV Lines (Horizontal)
Should I crop the images to 450 horizontal pixels or the double of that 900?
How can I match the sequence or the images settings to avoid the flicker and deinterlaced look on that monitor? I am not able to test the image by having the monitor next to computer.
    Compressor:
I used custom DVD settings in Compressor for 90 min best quality DVD. Tried the Porgressive and "Same as Source" in Output field.
In "Crop to" and "Padding" I set for preserve source aspect ratio and letterbox area of source.
I followed the advices from below and I still did not resolve the problem. Please is there anythign else I can try?
    Thanks a lot..
    Re: Poor Quality Stills
Dec 19, 2006 4:08 PM (in response to Steve Braker)
Things to try (In increasing order of image degradation)
    - (in FCP) field order>none
    - (in FCP or Photoshop) reduce whites by 10% - reduces overly bright areas
    - (in FCP) flicker filter - minimum
    - (in Photoshop) motion blur>vertical> .2 - .5 pixels - blurs vertically only
    - (In FCP or Photoshop) Gaussian blur> .2 - .5 pixels -blurs both horizontally as well as vertically
    - (in FCP or Photoshop) deinterlace - throws away half the image and is generally not appropriate on scanned images

    Dear Russ,
Thank you very much. Yes, there is something else in the sequence, old documentary, 768 x 570 (no field dominance, 25fps, Apple ProRes 422) but the images are more imporant.
make a progressive sequence with  square pixels. (I am partial to 720P, 1080 should work – or 540). Choose Pro Res 422
Do you mean that I should make a sequence in FCP with these settings? If yes, how can I set a "progressive" sequence? I dont see a setting for output field in FCP sequence settings, lnly in customizing Compressor output DVD format.
Also: "720P, 1080 should work – or 540" are you talking about Frame size? If so, to set in Compressor or in FCP?
If you have interlaced material, then de-interlace before you bring it in. If you don't have interlaced clips, don't de-interlace.
The images are not interlaced after  I crop them, apply motion blur filter in Photoshop but look interlaced in FCP timeline after I import them and even to the same as photos sequence in FCP timeline.
Please help and thank you for your comments.

  • Usage of R3ta during Database Export

    Hi everyone,
I have some questions about the usage of R3ta to split some tables during an export/import process.
    I'm doing a Unicode migration of a ECC 6.0 system running on Oracle 10g / Win2003 x86_64.
I have done the Table Split Preparation step via sapinst and it finished ok. This step created a subdirectory DATA in my export directory and created numerous .WHR files and a whr.txt file.
After that I started the export process once again via sapinst. I choosed to split the STR files, extracting the 250 largest tables with a package size of 1 GB. I checked the parameter split predefined tables and mentioned the file whr.txt created in the first step as the file containing the tables to be split.
But in the end, the tables in the files whr.txt are still exported sequentially (but are well split into 1GB pieces)
Did I forget something during the process ?
    I am using the latest R3ta, R3load, dboraslib.dll, R3szchk and R3ldctl.

    Hi Michael,
indeed, I did not tell about the number of R3load processes used. There were 6 of them in parallel.
The last table (and the one that takes most of the time to be exported) should have been handled in parallel but only 1 R3Load was active at the time (6 before)

  • How to choose the H264 profile during the export?

    Hi,
I'm using Imovie with the video comming from my AVCHD camera and i'm having a problem with the generated video (export with quicktime).
The output video is 1920x1080 (that is ok) but with the H264 profile 5.0.
I would like to know if it is possible to use the 4.1 profile during the export and how?

best to my knowledge not with Quicktime's h.264 options ...
but you can install the free, re-engineered version x264 as a plugin avail e.g. here.
after install and a relaunch of Mac, you're offered in the Export with Quicktime/Options/Codec dialog the new entry x264 - plus an Option button.

  • Image export from Pages to epub

Hope this is the right forum.
Question about exporting images from Pages to ePub: What does the following comment mean?
Images beyond the 11MB of un-encoded image data allocation per chapter.
    1. Does "images" mean total number in chapter? Or is the 11MB per image?
    2. What is "un-encoded image data" please?
    Thanks.

I asked the above question because I am writing a book with many pictures, and the exported ePub files for one particular chapter stop including pictures after a certain point.
However, that point is much beyond 11MB. The pics average 600KB, and it includes 45 of them (about 27MB) before stopping.
    Thanks for the help.

Wish I could help, the best I can do is tell you that you aren't alone. I'm having HUGE problems getting Keynote09 to export my recorded lectures as Quicktime files. But I'm getting the same disk full/problem with file error you mentioned.
I can PLAY the presentation and my audio recording is still in there. I wish there was some way to get the recording OUT, but since Keynote09 doesn't save its files as "packages" by default, I can't even figure out how to do that.

  • Best image EXPORT settings for best quality

What should i have my export settings at when exporting to a jump drive to give to clients for web and printing use???
When i see my images uploaded on Facebook for example, the qulity looks poor which worries me that when printing the quality will be poor as well. Am i missing something in the setting for exporting? What is the proper way to export for the best quality image? HELP!
My settings now under Aperture>Presets>Image Export:
    JPG Original size
    300 dpi

The information provided was helpful, but did not completely answer my question...
Are there specific settings with-in Aperture I can set for exporting so that clients have the ability to print as wanted and post on the web as wanted whithout losing any major amount of photo quality?
No, not for one size fits all.
I do appreciate this may be a frustrating answer, but non-the-less, that's how it is.

Should I be gving 2 folders of pictures, one for web use and one for printing use? If I were to do that, what should the exporting setting be set for both folders?
    Maybe, it's your choice.
    Let's go through the settings.
The only real quality setting is for JPG compression. 12 is virtually no (lossless) compression but gives huge file sizes which may breach a websites limits.
A 16MP images on quality 12 will be about 22MB. 11 brings it down to 8MB and 10 down to 7MB. You'd be very hard pressed to see the difference between a 12 and a 10. But if you want to feel you are giving the best quality without the extreme file size, go for 11.
The the vast majority of web sites, like facebook, will either resize uploaded images and/or re-compress them. They may also crop them to a different aspect ratio to fit their browser software.
Many report the best size for upload to facebook, for small images is 960 pixels on the long side. For large images it's 2048. For different websites it may be different. It is discussed on many photography sites and blogs. You will find some promoting the 960 / 2048, and others with their own preferences. Here's a good one which also shows you many ways FB will mess with the images:

The safest colour space is sRGB (Mac profile: sRGB IEC61966-2.1) as it will more often be right than wrong. You should preview your images on screen with this profile to get a feel for how it will look and avoid unexpected colour shifts in your files. Ideally your screen should be calibrated so you know what you are giving them is accurate.
To understand the printing issue, try this exercise:
If you have a printer installed on your Mac, it probably also installed some printer profiles. In Aperture, look at one of your nicer vibrant images. From the view menu turn on 'Onscreen Proofing' and then from the 'Proofing Profile' sub menu, select one of your printer profiles and look at how the onscreen image changes. Repeat with each of the printing profiles and see how the image changes each time.
This is only a fraction of the colour shifts that will be occuring after you give your file to someone and they print it on their own uncalibrated system with their uncalibrated printer.
Many photographers don't offer full size images to their clients. They will usually give them smaller versions for their own use, which may include small size printing.
They will either do the main printing themself on their own calibrated printer, or work with a print shop, and may have installed calibrated profiles on their system for the shops printing equipment so they can use onscreen proofing to gauge what the pictures will look like when printed on that equipment.
But if you are just giving a file to someone, you lose all control of how they will print it. Even experienced photographers and computer users can struggle to make the prints match close to what they look like on screen.
Most often photos will appear too dark, or the colours look wrong, or it lacks sharpness. There are some settings on the export presets for gamma and blackpoint compensation. Gamma will brighten the image for when it's printing too dark, and blackpoint will try to stop the shadows turning black (within the chosen colour space). But as you don't know in advance whether the images are going to print too dark, or the shadows are turning black, you can't really set these for a one-size fits all scenario.
So there are not many settings to help you here.
You are actually moving into the realm of defining your product. You could, for example, ask the client which site they intend to publish the photos on, research that site and produce files optimized specifically for that site.
You also need to decide what size (resolution) files to give them for printing and whether you are happy giving away your full size images.
These choices will lead you to a number of a different files sizes as 'your product', all should be in sRGB colour space, and all with quality 10 or 11. For any client's who know how to make use of a wider clour space like Adobe RGB for printing, they will probably ask you up front to supply the print versions as such.
Next, for each size and usage, you now need to sharpen these images.
This is because sharpeing is best applied to images that have been resized to their intended output size and should be sharpened in accordance with how they will be viewed. Images displayed on computer screen generally need less sharpening than those that will be printed. Depening on the printer, the images may need some oversharpening in the file, in order to appear crisp and sharp in the print. As you won't be controlling the printing process you should probably avoid oversharpening. The bottom line is, if people are taking on the task of their own printing, they'll need to figure out what they are doing to get good results, or use a commercial printer.

  • ORA-39126 during an export of a partition via dbms_datapump

    Hi ,
i did export using datapump in command line everything went fine but while exporting via dbms_datapump i got this:
ORA-39126 during an export of a partition via dbms_datapump

    END;
I've already drop and recreate the directory, granted read, write to public and to user, grant create session, create table, create procedure, exp_full_database to user, restart the database and the listener with the var LD_LIBRARY pointing first to $ORACLE_HOME/lib, and add more space to temporary tablespace.

    The basic problem is:
    Error: ORA 920
    Text: invalid relational operator
Cause: A search condition was entered with an invalid or missing relational
    operator.
    Action: Include a valid relational operator such as =, !=, ^=, <>, >, <, >=, <=
, ALL, ANY, [NOT] BETWEEN, EXISTS, [NOT] IN, IS [NOT] NULL, or [NOT]
    LIKE in the condition.
Obviously this refers to the invalid statement 'SELECT FROM DUAL ...'. I also recommend, you should contact Oracle Support, because it happens inside an Oracle provided package.
