    Hi,
Is it possible to incorporate collect feedback workflow with pdf documents ?
    Thanks
    techie

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to incorporate collect feedback workflow with pdf documents.
Before you add a workflow, you plan where you want to add it (for a single list or library, or for the entire site collection) and the details of how it will work.
If you want to add the pdf documents to a library, you can add the collect feedback workflow for a library. Please refer to:

  • Collect feedback workflow comments

    Hi,
I am using a collect Feedback workflow 2010 (in sharepoint 2013). Users enter comments when they respond.
We could see the comments if we open the workflow task individually but could not see the comments in the Workflow tasks view.Is this a known bug, is there any solution / work around for this issue.Thanks.

    Hi,
Based on your description, you want to view the comments in the workflow tasks view in SharePoint 2013.
In the workflow tasks view it cannot display comments filed.
There is a workaround, you could follow the steps below:
    1. Create a comments field in the task list.
    2. Edit collect Feedback
workflow in SharePoint designer, and in your task process editor, go into the part called "change the behavior for a single task".
    3. In the "when a task completes" section, add an action at the beginning of that section, to update List Item in your task list to set the comments field.
    There is a similar case:

  • Need link/button to allow users to add attachments to Tasks on Collect Feedback workflow

    Hi All,
we would like to modify the
Collect Feedback workflow in SharePoint to
allow users to add attachments to Tasks. We need an additional button on the review form to attach files, when the reviewers are submitting their comments.

    Hi nai.mish,
I would not suggest you to modify the default collect feedback workflow, but to custom a workflow with custom form page that similar with the default workflow.
You can consider using SharePoint Designer workflow, in this way, you may not be able to custom the task form with attachment, you can try to use “Hyperlink or Picture” column, this will need the viewer to upload the attachment to a library
    first.
Or you can create VS workflow, the following has a sample about adding attachment to an InfoPath Workflow task form, you can get more information from it:

  • Collecting Signatures on InfoPath Forms using Collect Signatures Workflow - Task Sign Button doesnt open Sign Dialogue

I'm having a problem getting an InfoPath form to work smoothly with the Collect Signatures workflow while using automatically chosen signers instead of the signers being specified in the workflow initiation form.
I created a custom InfoPath form with two signature lines
I created a duplicate of the out of the box Collect Signatures workflow and changed the Task Process Participants from "Parameter:Signers" to use one stage of the "submitter" and a second stage of the Manager field in the form.
The tasks do get assigned properly to the submitter and then the other user from the form field but there is a problem when trying to sign the documents from the task.
PROBLEM: Now, when one of the signers opens the task from inside the InfoPath form(they get to the form by clicking the link in the task assignment email) and clicks "sign" it no longer opens the signature dialogue. It just
advances the workflow and the document is left unsigned.
BUT IT WORKED FINE STOCK?... If I change the workflow task back to use the Parameter:Signers and let it supply the signers from the workflow initiation form then when the signer clicks the "sign" button on the task form the
Sign dialogue pops up for the next in line signature in the form that hasn't been signed. Then once they sign it the task completes and advances the workflow nicely. This is great but I want the signers to be automatically selected and the workflow
to fire when a new form is filled bypassing the cumbersome workflow initiation form.
Does anyone have experience with this? How can I get the task form Sign button wired up to open the signature dialogue for a signature inside the form?

If you use a third party signing control then you would not have to name the form uniquely because the control captures the signature and shows shows it on the form. The signature is not dependent on the form name. In other words you don't have to give
unique name to the form. Adobe Acrobat XI Pro lets you sign documents in SharePoint. Each approver can add their signature. There are other third party products also available for this. OR the easiest solution is to include Signature field on the form and
ask users to simply type their name in the field and automatically record date and time (and show with signature) when they add their name and submit.

  • Collect signatures workflow - Signatures can't be added or removed because this document was opened read-only

Hi, I have configured a "Collect Signatures" workflow for test Word document(.docx), then uploaded it to sample SP 2010 doc library  (content type "Document").  This Word document has 2 empty Signature Lines in it.
After that i'm starting the Collect Signatures workflow on it , which is assigned to me and other user from my Active Directory.
Workflow is started and after that i'm receiving mail about assigned task which also contains link to document.
When i click on link it opens IE which contains SP library file path, after a while doc is opened in Word client in Read-only mode. When i want to sign the document info window pops up : "Signatures can't be added or removed because this document was opened
read-only" and i'm not able to compete task/sign doc from Word.
It is possible to sign the document when i go to SP library and opens this file directly from there (file drop-down menu-> open in MS Word).
I saw that this behaviour is similar to this article:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/31ba43ec-b04e-428d-9a66-0cc571934197/collect-signatures-workflow-using-firefox-not-showing-workflow-task-this-document-requires-your?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
but i'm using IE so it shouldn't be Active X issue.
I have also checked this MS Fix:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2661910
but changing CA settings to Permissive didn't help
    Any ideas ?

    Hi bezcisnien,
I could not reproduce this issue.
When you open this file directly by clicking the document Name link from SharePoint library, is there a
yellow message bar in Word document?
Did this happen to all users on all PCs?
Have you checked if it is a client side issue, test with different IE 8/9/10 versions for this issue (and IE compatibility mode, add-ons, trusted site zone etc)?

  • SharePoint 2010 Collect Signatures workflow - no digital signatures?

Hello, I configured a "Collect Signatures" workflow for the content type "Document", then uploaded a MS Word 2010 (.docx) document as content type "Document".  This Word document as 2 empty Signature Line in it.
I then start the workflow, basically 2-stage with 2 person from my Active Directory.  However, what I found is that when I go to my workflow task and click on the "This document requires your signature" link, it pops up a "Workflow Task" box in the
browser.  There is a "Sign" button which I can click to sign but it does not sign on the signature lines inside my Word document.
What am I doing wrong here?  Or does SharePoint 2010 Collect Signatures workflow no longer work with digital sigantures?  Thanks.

    Hello ,
We have chceked by setting up a repro at our end and its not possible to complete the workflow without opening the document . Also below are some additional findings that I have and would like to share :-
    1)      In Office 2007 (Word and Excel) you can click on the office button from the respective application while you have the concerned document open in it. This triggers the collect digital signature workflow and the users signs
it immediately as he can see the popup on the screen. Still he has to go to the task list to complete the task which I would say is a manual process following the workflow task is 100% completed.
    2)      In SPS2010 with Office 2010 we do not have an option to trigger the workflows from within the Office document. Instead you directly go to task list to open the task and click on sign button to complete the task. Here you
still need to open the document again and digitally sign it. The difference is workflow here is not triggered in Office document. Even here it is a kind of manual process except that you don’t see a popup to sign document immediately from Office document
due to the fact that workflow is triggered from SharePoint task list.
    Thanks,
    Manas

  • How to view and restore sharepoint 2013 designer workflows and how to redeploy with newer version to environments

how to view and restore sharepoint 2013 designer workflows and how to redeploy with newer version to environments
MCTS Sharepoint 2010, MCAD dotnet, MCPDEA, SharePoint Lead

    Hi,
In SharePoint Designer 2010, we could not save the workflow as a template directly except the reusable workflow.
However, in SharePoint Designer 2013, we can just save all the types workflow as a template, then you can import the workflow into the new environment.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/workflows_for_product_catalogs/archive/2012/11/02/deploying-a-workflow-on-a-different-server.aspx
In SharePoint Designer 2013, every time we publish the workflow, we would get a newer version workflow, and the old workflow version would be overwritten.
So, when you deploy the workflow in the environment, the workflow would the newer version.

  • Faces workflow and keyboard shortcuts in 3.0.3

I'd like to collect ideas for how people get through naming photos using Faces in Aperture. For ease of discussion, lets break it down into the following categories:
    1) GENERAL WORKFLOW AND CRITEREA
Aperture identifies faces automatically, but is not accurate in many cases. I've discovered that I need to use "naming mode" as I call it, to identify faces. Rejection can be done in any mode. I now go through each photo to make sure it is named as part of my processing of each project. I've also discovered that a smart album used to filter out detected but unnamed faces does not work for all users. I currently have an escalated issue with Aperture support.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11535960#11535960
Once identified, I flag unnamed photos and drag those photos to an album of unnamed photographs. That's how I work around the smart album issue for now.
Choosing whether to include someone as a face in a photo is not straightforward. I use the following criteria:
-Can identify, or believe I can identify an individual
    -Mostly in focus
-A primary or secondary subject of the photograph, who's face is visible
-A primary subject who's head (but not face) is in the frame
I reject all others, including those of large crowds, where persons of interest or family members are very small.
    2) NAMING MODE (press "N" to view identified faces)
I enter naming mode, and preview mode to speed things along. I first reject any erroneously-detected faces, and count the number of missing faces. I then add the requisite count of missing faces. I then drag them and re size them.
Once that operation is complete, or if all faces are adequately "detected", then I press tab to cycle through and name each photo. If Aperture has made a correct guess, I press space on the check mark to accept and continue. If it has guessed improperly, then I can press tab again to go to the x mark, but pressing space only rejects the name. I have to select the name with the mouse and enter it manually. Does anyone know how to enter the name at this point? For this reason, I usually select the names that are incorrect first, then continue.
I hit enter when complete. Hitting enter prematurely makes you cycle through the names again in Aperture's designated order.
    3) FACES MODE
Here's where I would like to know if anyone knows shortcuts for skipping, rejecting, or naming faces. I'll go through the bottom row and skip or reject, then go back through and name them. By limiting this mode to a project or folder, speed increases significantly.
    REVIEW
Does anyone have additional input on how they process faces quickly and efficiently?

    Got it guys.
Here is the procedure, incase if some one needs it in future:
Copy all the WAR files from:
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\java\applications
    To :
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps
Get rid of or rename (recommended) any sub folders that may already exist in the above location.

  • Collect Signatures workflow using Firefox not showing Workflow task "This document requires your signatures" Open this task...

    Hi!
I am assuming FireFox does not support the Collect Signatures workflow in SharePoint 2010.
We are testing things now, and if the Outlook link is opened via IE, the workflow task shows up when the Word 2010 document opens for signing...and I can sign the document.
If we open the hyperlink in Firefox, I go through the initial prompts and get to a stopping point where I cannot sign the document and the message states:
"Signatures can't be added or removed because this document was opened as read-only".
It looks as if we have to tell our users to use IE since there is ActiveX involvement in this entire collect signatures process.
    Please advise...thank you!

    Hi!
Yes, I did see this under the ActiveX Controls area (3/4 down the page) from the same link you mention above:
Connect to Outlook, Connect to Office, and Sync to SharePoint Workspace >> Works with an ActiveX control and the stssync:// protocol. Therefore, functionality may be limited without
an ActiveX control, such as the one that is included in Microsoft Office 2010. The feature also requires an application that is compatible with the stssync:// protocol, such as Microsoft Outlook.
...which I'm assuming is the whole ActiveX control issue...and hence the Firefox problem.
    Thank you!

  • Workflows and account permissions

    Hi all,
I have a scenario, which I will describe below, and which to me doesn't sound normally, if someone knows something about this it would be much appreciated.
    The scenario is this:
I have a criteria workflow with one step. I have set the security group, the criteria definition and added a user to the step. The step is a review/edit revision step. This user has access to some account, let's call it acc1(RW). The authentication type of the user is external.
The user is able to check-in a document in the CS, upon check-in the document enters the workflow(as expected). The document has set as account the account acc1. So far all is good.
I now change the account so that acc1(RW) becomes acc1(R), so that the user has Read permission to the account and not Read-Write permission.
The document is in the workflow and the user tries to do an update, this action is forbidden(which i would have expected). because of the Read permission and not Read-Write permission.
Now comes what I don't understand: if the user tries to check-out and check-in the document, these actions are allowed, despite the Read permission on the account acc1! I was expecting that the actions won't be allowed, but they were. This comes against the fact that before I was prevented from updating the metadatas of the document...
    Is this the normal behavior?
    Thanks,
    Vlad

    > Are you referring to check-out / -in within a workflow?
    Yes
    > have you tried to approve the document...?
No, I just tried to update the metas and checkout/in actions
    > do the same outside the workflow?
Outside of a wf all behaves as expected: not possible to update the metas or checkout/in document
    > Can't this be caused by the fact that the user is also an author, or something?
Tried with another user other than the author and it behaved in the same way
    Thanks,
    V.

  • 2012 r2 Server Manger cannot manage RDS: Collections, Host Servers, and Connections won't display

    Hello,
We have a 2012 r2 server running RDS publishing a number of RemoteApps.
When we go to the Server Manager and drill down to the Remote Desktop Services area we are seeing a number of the sections that will not display their information and we can no longer manage RDS via Server Manager.
Starting at Server Manager\Remote Desktop Services\Overview the "Deployment Servers" window shows a red banner with "Could not refresh the list of servers"
Going to the Server Manager\Remote Desktop Services\Collections, all three of the windows, Collections, Host Servers, and Connections will eventually display the similar type of error message, stating to check the status of the services for Remove Desktop
Connection, Windows Remote Management and Windows Internal Database.
The server is fully patched, event logs don't show anything of note.
We've rebooted the server and confirmed all those services and all "Remote Desktop *" services are running.
We're still able to access the RDWeb instance to use the published applications.
This had been working previously, not sure when it last was though as we don't always go into Server manager. We can manage the remoteapps via powershell, but are curious why Server Manager no longer functions.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks...

    Hi,
Please check whether your RD Connection Broker is member of “Windows Authorization Access Group” under ADUC and then verify the result. If possible restart the server. Also check whether you have properly setup SQL server for database access. Apart
recheck the related services detailed in error, must be running. This is only needed if the Domain the system is connected to was setup with as Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible.

  • FM to read the different steps in workflow and the status at each step

    Hi All,
Is there any FM in SAP which gives the detail roadmap of the steps taken in a workflow and the diffrent status or decision at each step.
I am looking for something like what you see when you click on the "STARTED WORKFLOW" in the business workplace outbox.
Which shows up the "steps in the process so far "  and the decision and the agents for each of them.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You can get the status according to the task. please check with FM "SAP_WAPI_GET_WI_DELTA".

  • Report for outstanding workflows and the agents responsible

I need a report that shows all leave request workflows , with userid who created them and approver (agent), and approver's org unit and personnel number.
is there a standard SAP report that can show that? or I need to develop one?
I was looking at the SWI2_FREQ, this report shows the leave request workflows and userid who created them, but it does not report on the agent.

    Hi
I think by making use of SAP_WAPI_WORKITEMS_TO_OBJECTS you can get all the workitems who created the leave wokritems.

  • Siebel & "BIP Report Generation" Workflow and Bookmark Syntax

IHAC that wants to schedule the generation of a BIP report to run every weeknight and include a list of activities for the next day. We've utilized an OOTB IO and can successfully render the report using Sample XML in MS Word. Additionally, since they are only on 8.1.1, they do not currently have access to the latest scheduling capabilities. Therefore, we're trying to implement a repeating component to call a workflow to generate the report using the 'BIP Report Generation' workflow and the associated objects (from support posting 823360.1).
    Now to the questions:
One of the parameters for the workflow is a 'Bookmark'. This parameter does not appear to handle various 'Siebel' querying functions like 'Today()' as part of the criteria. Can someone confirm this statement?
Currently, I can imagine one high-level possible workarounds. This would entail a revised WF and that includes a prior step to generate the 'Bookmark' by retrieving a string representation of tomorrow's date and concatenating it with the rest of the criteria.
    Next question:
Does anyone have any other possible alternatives? Maybe a calculated field in the BC/IC for 'Today() + 1' - but this could have performance implications.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Suggestions/comments?
    Bump.
