Collected Files - SRS report

I am trying to get a report of computers that have a specific .txt file located any where on the C: Drive. I have added that file name in my Client settings for one of my test collections, under Software Inventory - Collected Files. I have forced
a full software inventory on the machines that I know have the file. When I go to one of the computer objects in SCCM, and start the Resource Explorer, I see the file has been inventoried under Software - Collected Files. However, when I go into
SCCM's SRS site and run the report - Computers with a specific File, I get nothing. I can only assume that this report does not report back on collected files and only the Inventoried file extensions ie (.exe), is this correct?
Is there another report I should be running, or is there an easy modification that I can make to a report that would allow me to report back the list of computers?

What I am trying to accomplish is this, we have a cloud syncing program that we deployed to our Laptop users, that runs on boot. The user has been instructed on how to configure the program to sync the files to their local computers, due to the variety
of what libraries the user's sync'd this was not automated. What we are trying to do is figure out the count and who is using the program to sync locally, the program's server tools can't get us that info, hence trying to use SCCM to gather it. Since
the executable runs at boot, I can't use a metering rule, however if the user is using it, creates and modifies a specific .txt file on the local machine, that file doesn't exists if it is not being used sync.
So I modify a test client settings to put in Collect files option, cause I assumed (maybe incorrectly so) the section for
Inventory these file types, was meant for *.exe, *.doc, or *.docx etc etc, and I didn't want to inventory all txt files from a computer, but just a specific one.
That way the managers can see a list and count of all computers currently using this program.

@All, I got rid of the express VI, decided to work on the custom low level VIs instead. however, i have a new problem now...
I have a case statement wherein, the user selects if he wants to start generating a report. once the program enters tat loop, the program speed reduces!

SMS SRS Reporting Point - 7403 at regular time intervals

Hi,
At regular time intervals I see a 7403 error message in the "SMS_SRS_REPORTING_POINT" component appearing in my ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 environment. SQL Server 2012 is used.
My reports are working fine and accessable via the Console and URL. This error 7403 appears twice a day. The srsrp.log states the following at the moment of the issue:

A few minutes before and after the health check is successful.
I found out that at the moment of my 7403 error, the SQL RS recycle process is started. The log file reportserverservice.log looks like:
06:55:58:: i INFO: Recycling the service from the default domain
The recycle time of SQL Reporting services is configured at 720 minutes, so each 12 hours.
Can someone tell me if this is normal and how I can avoid the 7403 error?

Configuration Manager 2012 R2 - SRS Reporting Services not configuring Report Server

Hi all,
I am running stand-alone primary site and remote (shared) SQL 2012 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2 Standard. Remote SQL server is currently hosting multiple instances and Configuratoin Manager is running on a custom instance. SCOM databases also co-exist on the same
SQL environment (different instance with SSRS installed & running perfectly).
After setting up the Reporting Services role on Configuration Manager environment, srsrpsetup.log & srsrpMSI.log states installation is successful. However, when monitoring srsrp.log file, we encounter the below message -

Steps taken so far -
1. Switched reporting services to run from local system account to domain account.
2. Created new Report Server database on our instance and reconfigured Reporting Services to this DB.
3. Un-installed and re-installed Reporting Services role in Configuration Manager
4. Un-installed and re-installed SSRS on Configuration Manager (dedicated) SQL instance after removing Reporting Services role in CM12.
I have referred couple of links on forum and none seem to help resolve this issue.
Let me know if there is anything specific I missed out from my end. Appreciate any assistance.

Bridge Collection file / folder name single quote bug fix?

Just starting using Bridge CS5 on WIndows 7. Fresh install of OS and CS5. Latest patches applied (4.0.5.11).
After laboriously selecting 60+ files and creating a colelction, the collection showed zero items.
I recreated the collection multiple times but same result. This was supremely frustrating and a huge time waster for me (and I'm sure for others).
Completely repeatable.
Tracked this down to one of my folders having a single quote in its name. This problem was documented back in 2010:

I edited the collection file in notepad and replaced the single quote with %27. Worked fine.
But manually editting the collection file everytime I make a change to the collection or renaming my folder hierachry are not viable workarounds.
Does anybody know if a fix was ever released for this? What is Adobe's response to this?
It apparently is a regression (i.e. it was fixed in a pevious verision and now is back).
This is a programming 101 bug (i.e. escaping special characters in file names).
This type of programing error is a real showstopper and really inexcuable, especially for how long it has been out there.

It's clear many of us have tripped on this issue and that it is time Adobe fixed this problem.
To hedge our collective bets, I also filed a "bug report" using this web page:

It interesting to note that I did not find a bug report form for Bridge - the site just offers a redirect to the general feedback form on Photoshop. But there was a bug report form for Premier Pro (a program they obviously care more about). So I filed this issue as an official bug against Premier Pro thinking it may get greater visiability. What follows is what I submitted. If I hear back from the development team I'll let this thread know.

File names / folders with single quotes (e.g., Jeff's Photos) are not properly escaped in the collection xml file created by Bridge which is used to manage assets in Photoshop, Premier Pro, etc. The single quote, which is a valid filename symbol in Windows, should be converted to %27 in the xml file but is left "as is" which prematurely terminates filename / folder strings. The net effect varies based on the operation being performed, but it is typically a silent error (i.e. the user is given no warning anything is wrong) and can result in catastrophic loss of critical assets.
It is simple to repro: just create a folder with a single quote in the name, populate it with content files, and create a collection. The next time you use it, the collection shows up as 0 entries.
The bug (which appears to be a regression) results in many users losing critical asset files and wasting huge amounts of time debugging this issue which was reported almost a year ago. The forums have many threads on this problem - see my recent entry for an example:

The bug is a trap that directly erodes customer confidence and satisfaction with Adobe's whole product line. Bridge is billed as hub that is supposed to tie all products together - but it cannot be trusted. Critical assets and time are lost. This is trivial bug to fix and many customers are outraged that Adobe has done nothing to fix it or warn users about it - especially since this is in your professional line of products that cost over a thousand dollars. Please escalate this fix immediately.
As a courtesy, please let me know this bug report was escalated and an ETA when a fix may become available.

Adobe After Effects CC 2014 Multi-machine rendering does not create RCF after Collect-File

This was working in the previous release. After going through all of the steps to perform a multi-machine render, not only does it say it is limiting it to 5 machines instead of the usual 99 (and I have over 100 cores on the render farm) but "Collect Files" (File/Dependencies/Collect Files) does not create the Render Control File (RCF) that kicks off the process on the other machines, like it did before and is supposed to do.
This release was supposed to fix the 32 core limitation on render nodes (my server has 48), but now does nothing at all.
Anyway, I assume there is a check box somewhere that says "do something" that hasn't been checked and another that says "Maybe my machine has more than 5 cores", and I would appreciate being steered in the direction of these new mis-features.
Just as background, the 48 core server does show the little TV screen that monitors the watch folder, and I know for a fact that process looks for the "RCF" file. Looking at the directory specified for "collect files", I can see that no RCF file is created, only 1 file, a report.txt file which contains this information is produced:

The dialog box has been slightly refactored. You must click "Allow watch folder rendering" and then all is good. Hope this helps anyone else. Thanks to Rafil at customer support chat for this.

File size reported reported differently

Can someone help me explain why this file size is reported differently depending whether you list file or folder properties:
This is an Azure Basic_A1 VM. Drive E: is standard VHD attached to the VM (Page Block Storage).
This is an active/open file that is currently being written to, and is growing in size.
How is it that file size is reported as 8 GB if you query the folder, and 24 GB if you query the file?

That collected over 3,000 sampling points that are 10 seconds apart. I then graphed that data:
The vertical axis is file size in GB, the horizontal axis is time (not directly - it's sampling points)
And you can see file size as reported by folder query lags behind file size as reported by file query. The amount of lag was upwards of 90GB at its highest point. And it took anywhere from roughly 5 minutes to 3 hours for 1 indicator to catch up with the
other.
The question is why these two sets of numbers are different? Is there caching going on somewhere? Is one indicator accounting for all file blocks while the other is accounting for committed blocks only? Can someone from Microsoft shed some light on this?
This is important to know to be able to plan disk space requirements when attempting to use Azure as backup target with large data sets regardless of the software used.

Cannot successfully collect files on AE CC on Mavericks 10.9.3

Cannot successfully collect files on AE CC 12.2.1.5 on Mavericks 10.9.3. The files are on a server and all living in one folder. When testing I do not have this error collecting files that are on my main drive or RAID. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I was experiencing this continuously. Maybe you have a different issue, but this may help.
My problem was that AE was always alerting me about missing footage, obviously the problem was not about missing footage, because in the Project Panel there was no missing footage (note that if this is happening After Effects stop the entire process, so copying the “missing footage” will not solve it. Also: When the Generating Report Only checkbox was active this error never occurred.
I figured it out that the real problem was about file names too long. Online I found some articles and discussion confirming that the problem should be because of characters file names, paths, folder structure, special characters, etc.

So to recap try to ensure that in your Project Panel none of the file names is too long (I don't know which is exactly the limit), is containing special characters, and try to simplify your folder structure.
In details I solved it following this steps (obviously the first three steps are to reduce, clean and simplify the project if it has a lot of files, folders and/or if it’s a complete mess):
Reduce Project selecting just the really needed compositions to get rid of what I don't need
Run the Project Cleaner script (http://aescripts.com/project-cleaner/) to get rid of redundancies and for a deep cleaning
Run the OrganizeProjectAssets script http://provideocoalition.com/dtorno/video/organize-project-assets-free-after-effects-scrip t - to simplify the folder structure
Manual double check to the file names
Collect Files

"Collect Files..." collecting additional unwanted comps

Hey so I use "Collect Files" all the time. I collaborate with other people and this function is obviously vital.
I'm currently having an issue with it collecting comps that are not selected. I choose "For Selected Comps" and I check off "Reduce Project." The new file has the comp I want, but also others. And if I try another comp, it will collect the same additional ones each time. And In the generated report, it is listing the comps I don't want as collected.
It seems to be specific though, collecting comps that are from other .aep files that I've imported. And only comps from .aep files that where generated with Collect Files. In other words, basically anything I've round-tripped using Collect Files and imported after a collaborator has finished their work.
I'm using AE 12.0.0.404 and I'm on OSX 10.8.4
Anyone else experiencing this problem? Or know if I'm missing something, like some sort of option/toggle that will force the collection of a comp? Thoughts?

If I duplicate the unwanted comps and delete the originals, it no longer collects when not selected... Weird. Simple workaround, but would still love to know what's going on if anyone has an idea. Thanks.

Passing file from report to workflow container

My requirement is a report will will upload a file from the desk top.
After uploading the file a workflow should trigger from the program
for which i am using the FM "SWE_EVENT_CREATE".
Apart from uploading the file, the report will fetch some data from
tables and i am passing the data to workflow using the above FM. Now
how can i pass the file to this FM, so that the file is available in
the workflow container.

You have to follow the below sequence of steps.
1)You are uploading the data from your desktop and the data will be in an internal table. Collect the entire data which you want to pass to the Workflow in a single internal table.
2)Export this internal table to memory using Export statement. See syntax to use this statement for exporting internal table data.
for example :
EXPORT : T_PO_STATUS FROM T_PO_STATUS TO MEMORY ID 'PR_PO_STATUS'.
3)Now when You trigger your workflow using the said FM, in the code of a Method associated to a particular Task, you have to import the internal table data using IMPORT statement.
for example :
IMPORT : T_PO_STATUS TO T_PO_STATUS FROM MEMORY ID 'PR_PO_STATUS'.
4) after importing you have to pass this data to the internal table which is declared in the workflow container. for this use the below statement.
SWC_SET_TABLE CONTAINER 'POStatus' T_PO_STATUS.
5) The internal table structures must be same both in the report program and in the workflow container. This way you can get the required data from report program to the workflow container.

AE CS6 collect file issue

Hi all, I am unable to collect a project file on my computer. I have a copy of AE CS6 11.0.4.2 installed and I usually reduce the project first before collecting.
It wont let me save out in the collect file window and the only thing that i am able to collect is a .txt file. I dont think its my project file since i was able to collect fine on a different machine. Anyone have any ideas on what is wrong?

hi, its with service pack 1. im working off a network drive. I guess i can try save and collect locally but the other machine that i use to collect is also on a network drive. Im not using any special characters for naming conventions. just underscores. no spaces or periods. It isnt just that specific project. Any project in general is not collecting.
so basically i reduce to project to what comps i need and then i collect file. window pops up and "Collect Source Files" is on all. all the boxes are greyed out except for generate report only. When i try to hit the collect button below, it wont close unless i hit cancel. any ideas?

Querying Within Collected Files

What we want to do is this:
Collect specific .INI files from workstations.
Query the files and return a unique text string (device ID) and associate with the originating machine.
Output this data.
We have an application which requires a unique ID for each production workstation, the alphanumeric string is stored in an .INI file. The developer has not provided tools for tracking these device IDs, which means manual tracking of these on our part and
over time, things have gotten pretty disorganized.
The INI files are being collected correctly by SCCM using the Software Inventory - Collect Files feature, but I don't know how to query or report on this info. I would like get an output file (i.e. a CSV) with computer names and the device ID from its respective
.INI file.
I found the location of the collected files (<ConfigMgr installation directory>\Inboxes\Sinv.box\Filecol), but the folder structure is generic and does not tell me which file came from which computer.
PS - If anyone has a better/different solution for querying network computers for a text string and returning computer name, please share!

My group has developed a lot of .rdl files using Report Builder 1.0 over the years and we're finally upgrading to Report Builder 3.0 with SQL Server 2014. Will our old .rdl files still work on the new version?

F110 Payment Run: Direct Debit collection file

Hi FI Gurus,
Currently, our Direct Debit Collection file is being created via Transaction F110 during Payment Run. Basically, the Direct Debit file is being uploaded in AL11 after the Payment Run Transaction F110.
Please be informed that in the Printout / Data Medium tab of the F110, two programs are present:
(1) RFFOAVIS_FPAYM
(2) RFFOEDI1
Now, my requirement is to add the u201CPayers Nameu201D after every line item in the file.
With these, I have some questions:
(1) Can the Payers Name be added in the file thru configuration?
(2) How do I do this via Conguration?

File is generated via payment program format which is in turn linked through Payment method in country.
The same can be done via user exit in the function modules of the existing format or through DMEE.
The first thing can be done using ABAP help, while the second ne is user friendly.
DMEE steps are follows:
(a)     Creating a new payment medium format: Use T Code DMEE to make necessary changes in your existing format. There you can add a new field.
(b)     Assigning the newly created payment medium format to the payment method: In the Payment method for Country, instead of using Classic payment medium program, use "Payment medium workbench". Assign the new format here.
(c)     Variant for payment medium format
(d)     Assign selection variant
