Collection of IDoc's

Hi
I have done the Idoc collection as per Stefan's weblog "/people/stefan.grube/blog/2006/09/18/collecting-idocs-without-using-bpm its generating a one file per each Idoc. What is the problem with this approach.Any clues on this.Under comments section of this Blog the same thing was written by Bhavesh.can any body guide me where i can get the Updated blog of the same and what should i do to get the all idocs data into single file.
Cheers

Hi,
1. in transaction We20 (of your R3 system)
in outbound IDOC - did you specify <b>collect IDOC</b> option and not send immediately?
2. and did you set the package size in RSEOUT00
(the last option in this report)?

  • Collect Multiple IDOC(Single IDOC type) to single file using BPM

    Hi All,
When i am generating multiple IDOC for the same message type, i am getting multiple payload for the same as a result i used to get multiple files generated in application server.
Now if i use BPM only to collect multiple IDOC to a file then what all the steps that i need to follow for the same.
Ex: I want to post 10 IDOC for a single IDOC type,, Now using BPM in XI i want to collect all the 10 IDOCs with multiple payload into one single message and then want to process this in XI to generate the file.
It would be glad if anyone refer me a good step by step blog for the same.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jay

    Thanks a lot Abhisek.
I have also got a blog explaining the exact thing. But in the blog the ID part was missing which is present in the link you have provided.
I will be glad if you can through some light on the ID part,, however the IR part and the BPM part is now mostly okay to me.
I will configure this today only,, and may seek your help for any huddle.
    Thanks a lot once again.

  • Collection of IDOC's and creating file

    Hi,
I am working on one scenario collection of IDOC's for 10  minutes and creating file.
When my IDOC's are created in r/3 and reaching in an order and reaching the same order in XI as well, but creating of file for those idocs is not happening in the same order.
Its skipping some of the orders as well while creating file.
Basically i need to create the file in the same order as idocs are reached XI.I am using BPM for collection of IDOC's.
    Would request your suggestions.

    Eg: Take a Fallowing Requirement..
For Exmaple A background program should be scheduled to run every 10 minutes to analyse any material records that have been created or changed or deleted that have occurred to the material master records or Customer Records in the last minute.
There are two Message Mappings involved in the whole scenario. First mapping is N:1 Mapping which will be used in BPM and second Mapping is 1:1 Mapping:
    1.     First Message Mapping &#61664; N: 1 – Mapping between IDoc (occurrence – 0...unbounded in “Messages” tab) to IDoc with changed occurrence of its top node (IDOC) as 0...unbounded. This message mapping will be used in BPM – transformation step.
Description: This BPM collects all Idocs for 10 minutes which are of Message Type (ZMATMAS05) according to Receiver Partner Number (Field – RCVPRN) and calls N: 1 mapping to bundle the collected Idocs in a One External Definition for that IDOC.
    Use
You use a wait step ( ) to incorporate a delay in a process. Usually, you use a delay to define when the next step in the process is to start. You can define a delay as either a point in time or a period of time.
At runtime, the step waits until the specified point in time is reached or the specified period of time has passed. The system then continues the process by proceeding with the next step.

Here i am trying to collect IDOCs for 5 minutes and i need to send them in XML format. Here i have mapping logic and that logic is working perfectly.
    What i am dong is
    1. I am sending IDOCs from R3 system to BPM in XI. ( Here to push IDOCs from R3 system to BPM, do we need to do extra ALE settings. Actually With out BPM simple IDOC to File is working fine, With BPM only i am having error. )
    2. How to reslove above problem. AS per my understanding everthing is fine.
    Thanks,
    Subbu

    Hi Rama Subbarao,
Error: Check with your loop condition and process steps.
Collecting of IDOCS using BPM is good, If u want to send the 100 IDOCS per one hour with single BPM it will takes times , Some performs issues and hardware issues are raising.
Suppose if u send 1000 Idocs per one hour it will takes much time.
    Other Process:
The collecting of IDOCS it will be downloaded into FILE System.Once IDOCS is downloaded into FILE, it will be not changed the IDOCS.
Using FILE Adapter we send the flatfiles data from FILE System to XI. if  u using this process performance wise its very good.

  • IDoc Collection Scenario (IDoc to Mail Interface)

    Hi,
I am configuring IDoc to Mail Scenario using BPM.
I gone through following link for develop the scenario. I am still unable to complete the scenario.
    Collect Idoc
    /people/pooja.pandey/blog/2005/07/27/idocs-multiple-types-collection-in-bpm
I have done following steps in my configuration. Please correct my steps if i am wrong.
Source is Outbound Invoice IDoc (SAP System).
Target is Inbound EDI 810 format send as a email(Mail System).
    1. Create an Abstract Interface for Invoice IDoc(MI_IDoc_ABS)
    2. Create a Message Interface for EDI 810 for Inbound(MI_EDI810_IN)
    3. Create an Abstract Interface for EDI 810(MI_EDI810_ABS)
    4. Message Mapping between Outbound IDoc and Abstract Invoice IDoc.  I did this as per one of the above link. but did not understand the importance of this. On Message tab of Message Mapping, it shows the occurance as 1 for both source and target. I did not see the mention of this mapping in the BPM. Not sure if this was required?(MM_IDoc_ABS)
    5. Message mapping between Abstract Invoice IDoc to Abstract EDI 810. On the message tab of message mapping, occurance of Source message is changed to 0-unbounded and occurance of target is kept as 1.(MM_EDI810_ABS)
    6. Define Interface Mapping for above mappings
    a) IM_IDoc_ABS - Outbound Invoice IDoc + MI_IDoc_ABS
                                  MM_IDoc_ABS
    b) IM_EDI810_ABS - MI_IDoc_ABS + MI_EDI810_ABS
                                 MM_EDI810_ABS
    7. Create a BPM in Integration process. Define 3 Containers namely
    a) collectIDoc - Abstract Interface - MI_IDoc_ABS
    b) collectIDocList - Abstract Interface - MI_IDoc_ABS(Multiline)
    c) targetFile - Abstract Interface - MI_EDI810_ABS
    8. Create a Block and define a infinite while loop with Block. Condition to be defined as (1=1)
    9. Define a deadline block withing Block with duration = 5minutes
    10. Define a Correlation in Correlation editor as SNDPOR as a ID.
    11. Define a recieve step inside infinite while loop with following properties
    Message = collectIDoc
    Start Process = Checked
    Use Correlation = Correlation
    Activate Correlation = Correlation
    Correlation
    SNDPOR = collectIDoc./INVOIC02/IDOC/EDI_DC40/SNDPOR
    12. Define Container operation next to recieve step. properties are
    Target = collectIDocList
    Operation = Append
    expression = collectIDoc
    13. Outside the block, there is Transformation Step with following properties
    Interface Mapping = IM_EDI810_ABS
    Source message = collectIDocList
    Target message = targetFile
    Acknowledgement = None
    Reciever From = Send Context
Now the next step is to define Communication Channel and Receiver determination, Interface determination in the Integration Directory.
I don't know, how to go further on these steps.
In addition, could you please validate my above steps.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Gowri

    Hi Bhavesh,
Thanks for the directions and help. I appreciate your help. I understand the steps but i am unable to implement it.
I have few more questions on above answer.
    a) Do i have to create Sender Agreement?
    b) Do i have to import bmp process in Integration Process in Integration Directory?
The steps that i carried out in Integration Directory.
    1. Create a Scenario EDI810_Scenario
    2. Create a party called EDI810_Party and EDI810_Service.
    3. In EDI810_Service, Receiver tab has interfaces defined. MI_EDI_IN and MI_IDoc_ABS. In sender tab, it is INVOIC.INVOICE02 (IDoc) and MI_EDI810_ABS.
    4. Define a receiver communication channel CC_EDI810_Receiver(RFC).
    5. Business System for SAP is defined in Service without Party.
    6. Defined Sender communication channel CC_IDoc_Sender(IDoc)
    7. Create Interface Determination (First)
    Properties are
Sender Service : SAP Business System
    Sender Interface : INVOIC.INVOICE02 (IDoc)
    Sender Namespace : IDoc namespace
    Receiver Party : EDI810_Party
    Receiver Service : EDI810_Service
    Configured Inbound Interface is
    MI_IDoc_ABS and IM_IDoc_ABS
    8. Create Interface Determination Determination (Second)
    Properties are
Sender Service : BPM_IP (Bpm process is imported in Integratio directory)
    Sender Interface : MI_EDI810_ABS
    Receiver Party : EDI810_Party
    Receiver Service : EDI810_Service
    Configured Inbound Interface is
MI_EDI_IN. I do not see IM_EDI_ABS in the list. How do i get that.
    What step did i miss?
    Thanks,
    Gowri

  • Call Master_idoc_distribute for collective outbound idocs

    Hi All,
I want to process outbound idocs (4 idocs collectively) using master_idoc_distribute FM. I am calling master_idoc_distribute inside a FM and assigned it to process code outbound. It is working for one idoc but not for 4 idocs.
How can i call the master_idoc_distribute for sending out 4 idocs one at a time.
    Thanks

Ok. I guess the requirement was wrongly typed. Ok here is the requirement.
I basically want to take a collective idoc in R/3 and cal master_idoc_distribute to create and send idocs. This is my collective idoc structure.
    EDIDC
    --+ E1STZUM
    --+ E1STZUM
where 'E1STZUM' repeats for each idocs. In the above structure, there are two idocs in one idoc which is a collective idoc.  So i want to write a logic to take the first segment E1STZUM and call master_idoc_distribute and then call the second segment E1STZUM and call master_idoc_distribute FM again and so on depends on how many segments. How can i write a logic to loop at idoc_data and call FM master_idoc_distribute. I am not a core ABAP programer. So pls do send me sample code with comments if possible.
    Thanks  a lot.

  • Collecting multiple idocs using BPM

    Hi,
I have a scenario where idocs sent from R/3 system are collected in Xi and posted as a single message in the file. We have done all the configurations both in XI and R/3 pertaining IDOC.
When we trigger an idoc in the R/3 system,we are able to see the message that IDOC has been sent to XI system. But we are unable to see any of the message transfers in SXMB_MONI.
(In simple words our interfaces are not getting triggered.)
Could anyone help us in rectifying the problem?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vishnu.

When you trigger the IDOC from R/3
--Did u complete the configuration part of sending the IDOC to XI, have you created the TRFC POrt in R/3, cross check the RFC dest which you are using here is pointing to Right Xi box?
Your configration looks fine for atleast to take IDOC in XI, rest i am not sure at this point.
---No errors in the SM58 on R/3?
---IDOC metadata is loaded in XI? do u c any entry in the IDX5?
--Is your IS been configured wth the tracle level parameters, if yes set it to 3 value
--is runitme paramter LOGGING, LOGGING_PROPOGATION,LOGGING_SYNC present in SXMB_ADM?
if you have these then atleast you should c an entry in SXMB_MONI with with either sucessfull or failed state.
More importanatly the LS name of the R/3 is according to standards what SAP says in SLD?

    Hi All,
I want to process inbound idocs (4 idocs collectively) in R/3 using master_idoc_distribute function module. The idoc is coming into system as one idoc having 4 segments (each segment for each idoc and contains sub segments too). • BPM Idoc collection without calling the mapping in BPM

    Hi Expert,
I have an IDOC to file scenario in which source side I have to collect multiple IDOC and map it to a single file .I am achieving it through BPM . at present I am using one multimapping and calling this mapping in the BPM under transformation step its working  fine  but due to some constraint  , Now I want to achieve it using BPM but without calling the Mapping in the BPM i.e I don't want to use Transformation step in the BPM. Is it possible ????
    Regards,

    Hi Saurabh,
If that is the case it is preferable to collect the IDocs in ECC and then send them to XI at one go.

  • BPM: Issue with Collect Idocs in Production which is used to work in Test.

    Hi,
We are using BPM for our interface to collect the idocs,
    - Header Idoc will consists of number of bundles of Detail idocs.
    - Each bundle consists of 100 Details Idocs..
We used packet size as 100 in ECC partner profile and Idoc package as 100 in Sender Idoc adapter in PI.
    Example for 103 idocs,
header idoc will send count as 2 (100 and 3).
Detail Idocs will come in two 2 bundles(2 message ids), with 100 in one message id and 3 in another message id.
we used BPM to collect all the detail idocs before mapping to final target message.
The interface is working fine in our test system, but it is not working in production.
The interface is working fine for the idocs less than 100. Problem is only when the count is more than 100.
We compared BPM in both test and production and we didn't find any difference in the process steps.
Anyone has any idea what might be wrong ?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Deepthi.

Mapping problem which is cleared now.

  • IDoc Collection in BPM and Without BPM

    Hi All
I'm much confused on IDoc collection for which i require your expertise to clear my doubts. My primary question is based on the context "Multimapping doest work with idocs".
consider the case ->  collect files-idoc scenario. <b>Using BPM</b> i need to have
a multimapping scenario. In the <b>transformation step</b> we will have a <b>container</b> element where <b><u>mutiline</u></b> is enabled so that the collected files are <b>transformed into one abs interface</b>. my dopubt arises here when i consider this scenario <b>without bpm</b> that is N:1 mapping (no collection). in this case why this <b>multimapping works in bpm process</b> and <b>not incase of non-bpm scenarios</b>? is it because in bpm the mapping happens in BPE?
    pls clarify.
    thks
    Prabhu

<i>>>>>In an N:1 scenario without BPM, how could you send more than one message to your multi-mapping? You can't.</i>
yes we cant as this validation is not supported at abap stack level and N:1 is possibkle without BPM (or i'm missing something here). but this same step with bpm get executed succceffuly. whats the logic behind it

  • BPM Idoc collection without transformation step

    Hello
I have a simple scenario of outbound invoice idocs. The tricky thing now is that I want to collect them within a BPM process.
The BPM is basically working as long as I have a transformation step before the sending wich transforms from a multiline idoc to a "non-multiline" file.
My problem is that I don't want to put a mapping in the BPM, because depending on the values in the idoc I need to run different mappings.
What I really want to do is to send back the collected files to the IE and process them with separate receiver determination per receiver.
In this way I would only need 1 BPM and the configuration is done in the directory.
Problem is already that I can't specify a multiline message in the sending step - not allowed.
Anyone with a similar scenario who can help? I'm not sure what the receiverDetermination step does in a BPM, could this solve my issue?
    thanks
    David

    Hello
I tried the ForEach block, but now the BPM is first collecting the idocs and sends them out individually in the send step.
I've never used the forEach before, so the chance is good I made something wrong.
    After collecting I'm running
    1. Block - forEach
    - MultiLineElement = collected idocs
    - CurrentLine = wasn't sure, used abstract interface of the single idoc
    - local correlation = same correlation than in the collecting step
    2. Sending (inside block)
    - message = single idoc
    - Receiver from = send context
    - Conversation ID = I've choosen an Xpath expression
    - correlation = same than for collecting
What I'm missing here as well is how to diferenciate the idocs I send back to the IE in the receiver determination since all come from the same service with the same interface? That's why I tried to set te Conversation ID, but it didn't appear anywhere in the XML trace.
    any idea?
    thx!

  • Collecting IDOCs in BPM

    Hello BPM experts,
I needed some help with one of the scenarios with BPM.
We are sending outbound IDOCs from ECC to PI (v7.0 SP14)
Step 1 - Process kicks off from ECC.
1.There are multiple partners in WE20(Configured in WE20) which sends out IDOCs through the single tRFC port(WE21).
Step 2- XI starts to collect the IDOCs from these different partners in ECC(Configured in           WE20) using a wait step in ccBPM.
Step 3-By using correlation, the collected IDOCs recieved from different partners are translated and send to File adapter in seperate files.
Note:For example if there are 10 partners in WE20 which sends to 1000 IDOCs,these transactions grouped and translated into 10 files and finally transmitted to partner using file adapter.
We tested the scenarios and it is working fine,In production we faced an issue with BPM processing larger number of messages.SAP asked to apply note 1147377 to resolve this issue with bigger load.
My concern here is if the mapping for a particular partner fails, will this cause an issue to the rest of 9 partners ? Please give me your suggetions.

  • Collecting Idocs without using BPM

    Hi Experts,
I am working on a sceanrio, where Idocs are coming from sap and we need to generate a single Flat file out of them.
For this scenario first we need to collect the Idocs and then process them to make a single file output.
To achieve the same I am using the BPM to first collect the Idocs and make a packet out of them and then processs it to generate a single flat file.
Can someone please suggest me that, How can we  achieve the same without the BPM.
If yes, how can we do that?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Pradeep

    Pradeep ,
    Option 1 : /people/stefan.grube/blog/2006/09/18/collecting-idocs-without-using-bpm
here you collect them as a file and file is picked up and sent to the target
    Option 2 :
in WE20 in ERP set idoc package to 50
in XI sender idoc channel - package to 50
XI will receive 50 IDOCs at once...
(courtesy Michal....till then i thought there is no sender idoc adapter )
Option 3 : collect using BPM.
Option 4 : This is what i woould suggest....no need of collecting you can send one idoc at a time generate the file.....why do u want to collect?
