Collection of stats prior to 10g upgrade for dictionary tables

Collection of stats prior to 10g upgrade for dictionary tables is required? I thought if you are upgrading from 9i to 10g the stats in 9i become stale in 10g.
I read a document that says you need to collect stats prior to upgrade and import them once your upgrade is done. Can someone guide me?

I don't know where did you get these? There's some optimizer improvement and new feature in 10g. Collecting stats before upgrade and import later is unheard of.
I suggest you check this article
Choosing An Optimal Stats Gathering Strategy

and the white paper mentioned,

I want to make collection Query statement by sccm 2012 sp1 for all windows activated and all non-activated windows.

Have a look at the Software Licensing Product attribute classes when creating a Query - remember to choose
System Ressource when creating the Query. You would have to enable this class to be collected during Hardware Inventory. Go to
Client Settings -> Hardware Inventory ->
Set Classes -> Select Software Licensing Product.
This Class is part of the Asset Intelligence classes so you could enable it from there as well.
Another way to accomplish is to use Compliance Settings to get this information.
Create a Configuration item that query the Win32_WindowsProductActivation WMI Class, if you are using XP and the
    SoftwareLicensingProduct class for later os´s
Add this Configuration Item to a Baseline ad deploy it to your Collections as needed.
When the Baseline has been evaluated you can use this information to create query
Machines reported as compliant is actived and machines reported as Non-Compliant is not activated.
You can read about the Win32_WindowsProductActivation WMI Class here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394520(v=vs.85).aspx

  • Is there an upgrade for dictionary 10.1?

is there an upgrade for dictionary 10.1.  i'm using snow leopard now and the dictionary will not allow me to check spelling

To see the version of Dictionary open Dictionary and in the Dictionary Menu choose About Dictionary, that is where you will find the current version. Your profile indicates you are OS X 10.6.6, if that is correct then I'd recommend your update your system. Before updating first backup using Time Machine or a Bootable Clone. Then disconnect all peripherals except the keyboard and mouse. Next download 10.6.8 Update Combo from
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Then install the Update Combo (it will be in your downloads folder) following the on-screen instructions.
After you have installed the Update Combo you will have the most up-to-date version of OS X which includes Dictionary.

  • 10g upgrade for APS instance

I am upgrading the ERP and APS instances from 9.2.0.5 to oracle database 10.2.0.4.
Does that matter if the ERP instance is upgraded first or the APS? If so, which should be upgraded first and why?
Can we also upgrade either the APS or the ERP instance and not upgrade the other one?
    Thanks,

Didn't quite understand you... why do you need to know who the ERP or APS vendors are, the product names, or the product versions????
and what dont you get from my post?
    Vendor - Oracle?
    Product-Oracle Database?
    Version - Upgrading from 9.2.0.5 to 10.2.0.4?
Anyways, I got my answer with some more research on google and metalink.
The answer is - It does't matter if the ERP database is upgraded first or the APS database.

  • Getting slowness issue with Oracle DB (10g) - specifically for one table

We have a Oracle Database. When we are trying to access it through our Java application, it is working fine except for 2 menu option in the application.
These 2 menu option are trying to fetch from the same table. It is taking 30-40 min to fetch some 500 records. It was not the case few days ago.
I have checked at application end however didn't find any issues.
Could you please suggest, what could be the possible reason and solution for this.

There are many possible reasons and solutions for this. That is why you need to look at what the instrumentation is telling you is wrong.
First: determine if there is something grotesquely wrong. Oracle has an alert log, see if there are any complaints in there. There are a number of ways of observing the database, dbconsole has a nice screen with performance, though you might need some special licensing. There are also scripts you can run and third party tools. You may also want to use statspack or AWR to tell you generally what is going on, sometimes the top sql just makes it obvious, but you have to know your own system to make that kind of judgment.
Next, see if there is something obviously wrong, check for missing or otherwise unavailable indices. Tell us what your exact version is (10g is not a version: 10.2.0.4 is a version), as well as platform and your statistics gathering strategy.
If it still isn't obvious, follow the [url https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=863295]Thread: HOW TO: Post a SQL statement tuning request thread. You should post a proper explain plan for times when it works good and times when it works bad. Most performance problems are bad sql, but you can have odd effects from things like bind peeking.
And if all else fails, blame java.

  • CDC..waiting for dictionary redo

sry may be this question has been asked before. but I still find my stream doesnt work properly...
I try to implement Online autolog CDC where souce DB and staging DB on different computer. but when I run this SQL
    select capture_name, state, total_messages_captured
    from v$streams_capture
    where capture_name like '%EMP_DEPT%'
    CAPTURE_NAME
    STATE TOTAL_MESSAGES_CAPTURED

I've tried some solution as suggested in http://www.business-intelligence-quotient.com/?p=14 but it still doesnt work
1st : drop my change source,I get first_scn from my source DB and try to remake change source in staging DB
2nd : make sure that I just make 1 change source for my source DB.
    3rd : I run this SQL
    exec procedure dbms_capture_adm.prepare_table_instantiation.
in my staging DB..but when I run it to source DB theres some error appear
    4th : I run this SQL
    SELECT consumer_name, name
    FROM DBA_REGISTERED_ARCHIVED_LOG
    WHERE dictionary_begin = 'YES'
    no rows selected
in my opinion, DBA_REGISTERED_ARCHIVED_LOG should be filled automatically..any suggest?thax before.sorry for my bad english

    Hi -
    1. is you streams config global_names compliant, at source and destination?
    2. Have you configured the log_archive_config parameter at source and destination?
    3. If these are correct, are the logfiles shipping to the correct location on the destination server?
    4. If so, can you manually register a logfile using ALTER DATABASE REGISTER LOGICAL LOGFILE '<complete file name>' FOR '<capture name>' ?

  • Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16

    Hello,
I've encountered issue during installation of SP1 to SQL Server 2012. After upgrade I'm getting this error in Event Log:
Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16. This is a serious error condition which might interfere with regular operation and the database will be taken offline.
If the error happened during upgrade of the 'master' database, it will prevent the entire SQL Server instance from starting. Examine the previous errorlog entries for errors, take the appropriate corrective actions and re-start the database so that the script
    upgrade steps run to completion.
Can someone point me direction how I can fix it? This is a production server and currently only way to make it working is to use T902 flag in SQL Server startup params. I've found some suggestions to check Data path if it exists but it does so this is not
    the issue here. Any ideas?

Before sending my message I've searched update script for "FROM master.sys.master_files" and I found script which you are showing me. I've made some digging and when I runned:
           SELECT physical_name
           FROM master.sys.master_files
           WHERE (name = N'master')
it returned also path to one my customers database name which has filename set correctly but it's Logical DB name is master and mastlog. I'm running shared hosting company and I allow my customers to restore their DBs from .bak files but I have no idea why
this customers logical name is set to master and mastlog. Probably when I change this names update script will work as it should. On the other hand in my opinion there should be some kind of fail safe mechanism for situations like this one.
EDIT: After changing logical name for DB and log for mentioned DB your script runned fine so probably now when I remove T902 flag and restart my SQL Server update will run correctly. Big thanks for resolving this issue.

I've imported a giant cd collection for my boss in wav format for the best quality audio using iTunes version 11.1.1.  I need to transfer this library to our Music workstation using iTunes 11.0.1.  That workstation version of iTunes can't be upgraded for compatability reasons with other software using iTunes.  When I try to transfer the library I lose all of the CD metadata and end up with only track names.  Is there a way to transfer everything along with the metadata?

Not easily.  WAV format does not store tag information in the file.  Realize both AIFF (equivalent to WAV) and Apple Lossless (full quality but smaller files) do, so WAV was unfortunately the worst format to chose.
If you have to go with what you have you will have to explore exporting the library as .xml, moving it and the files to the other computer, then rebuilding a lower version library with the two sets.  I am not sure if you can do it with the library.xml file that already exists or if it too differs according to version.  You may end up having to export the files as a playlist.  You will, of course, lose artwork too, though you can try fetching it from the iTunes Store later.
Some of what you need to do is outlined in these articles though you have the added limitation that you are not building a library of the same version.  (It really is a piity you choose WAV, otherwise you could have simply added the ripped files and most of the data would have traveled with them.)

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection Design Across Media Upgrade for Windows at a business closing.  What do I need to find out before I can use it?

I couldn't tell you what you purchased, and it might even be difficult for an Adobe employee to do so.  The business could have a few options as far as what they might have purchased.
Your best bet, considering what little you paid, will be to hand it over to someone you might sell it to and let them try it out.  If it works, then it works.
