Collection Panel is Missing

I recently upgraded to ver 1.4 and the Collection Panel is missing? The panel on the left contains Navigator,Library, Find, Keywords, Metadata, etc. but no collections? Any ideas as to how to recover this feature?

Duh! Thanks I wasn't aware I could disable (by accident of course) the panel options by right clicking on one and making the selection. Thanks so much.

Catalog/Folders/Collection panels auto-collapsing in Library module

Lightroom 4.3, Mac OS X 10.7.5
Maybe I'm just going crazy today, but working in the Library module, I could swear I used to have the Catalogs, Folders, and Collections panels open at the same time. Now, for example, I have Folders clicked on. So, to reveal the Collections panel, I need to click on the arrow to the left of "Collections." So I do. And Collections opens, meanwhile automatically collapsing Folders. If I click on the arrow left of Publish Services, it collapses Collections, and opens Publish Services. "Navigator" is the only panel I can keep open while one of the other ones is open.
Does this make sense? Did I accidentally hit a key or mess up a preference or something? I just tried moving into a different catalog, and I also updated to 4.3 (I was on the previous version when I noticed this problem this morning) but the problem remains. Am I missing something really obvious?

Never mind. I just figured it out by looking two questions down. Apparently, there is something called "Solo Mode" that does this. How I accidentally activated it, I dont know. To solve the problem, you just right click on any dark section of a panel, and deselect "solo mode" from the drop down menu. I've been using Lightroom for years, and I continue to discover things I didn't know about.

You may try the list (or go straight to 6) if you have updated to Yosemite without reinstalling).
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Collection Panel go back to "All Photographs" when you delete a collection

Hello,
I found the following behavior pretty annoying:
- Open Lightroom and a big collection. Make sure the collection panel is opened.
- Now, go down into the collection and select a collection you do not want.
- Delete it.
Lightroom choose "All photographs" (on the top!). It means I have to scroll back each time back. I would rather lightroom choose the neighbours or parent collections

This is an easy fix. Unfortunately I had the same issue at first. Why can I still see my deleted texts/e-mails in Spotlight Search when I hit the home key? Well, I hope this will solve all of your issues. It sure solved mine. I have a basic iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.3 ..
Here goes:
1.) Go to Settings
2.) Go to "General"
3.) Go to "Spotlight Search"
You will notice that everything has a check mark next to it. Simply click on "Mail" and "Messages" and this will eliminate all of your old deleted texts/e-mails from Spotlight Search. You can also choose to get rid of Contacts, Applications, Music, Podcasts, Videos, Audiobooks, Notes, Events, Voice Memos and Reminders.
You're ALL set! Now text away and don't worry about your significant other being able to see all those old dirty deleted texts and e-mails. . Take it EZ

Where is Collections Panel?

This might sound like a daft question, but can anyone tell me where I can find the Collections Panel in Bridge CS4?
I can see Keywords and Filter, and I understand that Collections is supposed to be next to Filter. But I cant see it or locate it.
Any advice welcome

I control/clicked on the filter panel, and the Collections Panel was available as one of the options.

Lightroom 5: AppleScript: action "AXShowMenu" in Smart Collection panel does not show context menu

We are developing a simple automatization tool using Lightroom 5 (the newest version of the CC) using AppleScript.
For some actions, we need the context menu in the Smart Collections panel, for example to import Smart Collection descriptions.
According to the documentation and various sources on stackoverflow and elsewhere, AXShowMenu should bring up that menu.
So far, I have not been able to make that context menu pop up.
Using UIElementInspector and UI Browser, I located the element which does have the AXShowMenu action attached. Based on the code provided by UI Browser, I got the following script, which I run from the Applescript Editor:

Note that if you try to recreate this, the number of the window as well as the number of the row may be different. Also, the last line is just convenience, and not really relevant for the code.
In the Results window in AppleScript Editor, I have the following:

--> action "AXShowMenu" of static text "Smart Collections" of group 1 of row 11 of outline 1 of scroll area 1 of window 6 of application process "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5"
which means that I did invoke the action.
But … nothing happens.
Any insight, workaround etc. is highly appreciated.

Just for the records, I did ask the same question on Stackoverflow, and there I got an answer which does work. This solution uses a little Python program to really simulate mouse clicks.

Right-click any other panel head(such as Basic panel), you can turn on/off any panel in context menu list

All panels are missing from development module

Can anyone help me. I have been using lightroom for some time. Then today for some reason, not only did my basic panel disappear but also every other panel under the development module disappeared so I can't even right click on on say, the "Tone Curve" or "Lens Correction" to bring back the basic panel because every panel is missing. Can anyone help me? I have uninstalled lightroom and re-installed but still nothing. I have no idea how to fix this issue.

In develop, press Ctrl+1 (Cmd+1 on Mac) for the basic panel. Then right-click (control+click) to choose others.
Or use the Window menu.

Create a Collection of machines missing a single patch MS07-042

Good Morning All,
   I am trying to create a collection for all machines missing a single patch. MS07-042. This patch has multiple KB numbers.
I noticed a couple of odd occurances.
1) Console query builder does not expose the Updates classes.
2) Console query builder does expose all the ITMU classes. I am not sure if these are populated with the WSUS information gathered by the WUA.
I did create the following query

Torsten, do you have a refrence for the SMS_UpdateComplianceStatus table? I want to know what the Status Field values represent.
I realize this is an old thread, but I just wanted to put in my $0.02 in case someone else stumbles upon it looking for info.
So, the SMS_UpdateComplianceStatus class (cuz we're talking collections here, which is WQL and pulls from WMI classes) is really the equivalent of the v_UpdateComplianceStatus view. So if you want to see what's in that, go to SQL and query it.
Also, if you want to know what the Status field values are, you can find those by looking at the v_StateNames view from SQL too where TopicType = 400 I believe.
State 0 = Unknown
State 1 = Not Required (meaning doesn't have patch and doesn't need it)
State 2 = Not Detected (meaning it doesn't have patch but needs it)
State 3 = Detected (meaning it has this patch)
So, if you want to create a collection of machines that are missing a patch, you could do something like this:

MAX 4.2.1.3001 Task Test Panel Button Missing

I just upgraded to LabView 8.2.1, along with the drivers, NI-DAQmx, MAX, etc., and now when I use MAX to view my existing tasks, they no longer have a "Test Panels" button. They appear to now have an integrated test graph. That is nice, but before I was able to press the "Test Panels" button, select a type of "Values" instead of a graph type, and this would allow me to see the raw values that each channel was returning. What happend to this functionality in 8.2.1.3001? I know that I can go to each individual channel and see its raw values, but that is not acceptable. I need to see all of the values of each of my task channels together in one place, the same way I was before "upgrading" to the new MAX. Am I missing something?

Why the Align panel is missing???

Does anybody knows why the Align panel in Indesign is not under Window > Object & Layout > Align ?? I can only see Pathfinder and transform under Object & Layout! Is my Indesign corrupted?

It may have not loaded too. Just quit and relaunch. If it is still missing go to the Extention Manage "InDesign > Manage Extensions" and ensure it is enabled. Disabling it and enable it if it is enabled and that should bring it back to life. It will be the second item in the Extension Manager in most cases.

SCCM 2012 R2 - query based Collection based on missing update

I was wondering if anyone knew what attribute to use in console to create query based collection for missing patches? I viewed the entire list of attributes available in console but I cannot seem to find anything that says "Windows Updates" or
something similar.

You might also consider creating a saved search with all updates that are deployed but still required.

Another case of Soundfont panel/manager missing - Audigy ga

I just recently had to completely reinstall my windows, so naturally I was doing a clean install of the Audigy drivers from my CD. Everything went smoothly, except when I started my AudioHQ it was completely missing the SF manager. I do alot of MIDI related stuff on my computer, so I would very much like to use this feature.
I tried finding the SF manager thing on my installation disc manually (as someone else was instructed previously), but the directory that was referred to in the other post isn't on my disc, and I could not find the setup anywhere else either.
I tried finding 3rd party software to load soundfonts into memory, but they all require that the SF manager has been installed.
I found a zip package with the SF manager installation on the internet, but it crashes with "SURegCreateKey failed!". I suspect the setup isn't meant for my audio card.
I might add that the soundfont system has worked perfectly for years, on all the various configurations and systems I had this audio card in, including this one (just two days ago, before I had to reinstall).
I am using Windows 2000, the same as before. If there is need of any more specs, I'll supply them then.

Thanks, I actually got by the ignore ownership problem. Someone elsewhere said that box shouldn't show up on the root/boot drive so I rebooted under the old boot and then looked at the newly inited boot device and there was the box. That got me past that problem. However now I can run disk warrior from a nonboot drive with the os installed but after agreeing to the license it fails with a message:
"An unserialized copy of Diskwarrior cannot be run from locked media, either restart
from the DiskWarrior disk cd or install disk warrior onto a hard disk."
There are lock checkboxes on the DiskWarrior DMG, the utilities folder and the applications folder in their respective disk info panels but they are all unchecked. There is no checkbox on the drive itself.I have no idea what this means and there are only two incidents of it on google neither of which are helpful. At this point I think I'm going to have to wait for alsoft Tech support.

Front panel objects missing

I have a weird phenomena. I have a program that runs fine, does data acquisition and writes to measurement fine. All of a sudden, and in no scheduled way, all the front panel text disappears, which causes the write to measurement to fault because there is no text left to build the filepath. But the funny thing is, after pressing stop on the Labview error, the machine keeps running. There is a digital watchdog in the program that is supposed to stop the machine if the program stops. Anyone had this problem, with the front panel objects/text disappearing?

It sounds like you are running out of virtual memory. Here is a help article on how to extend the size of VM on your system (http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvhowto/enable_lrg_ad_aware/). Try this out and see if you still get the same behavior.

When I try to forward an email, The address book that used to be on the left hand panel is missing. How to I get it back?
