Collections will not add PDF files in Organizer
I have Acrobat 8.0 with the 8.1.3 update running on Windows XP Home on a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop. As of Tuesday morning the 21st all of the PDF files in my Collections disappeared. I tried adding the files again but nothing happens. I ran a repair cycle from within the program and from the installation disk - still nothing happens when trying to add files to Collections. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program - still nothing when trying to add files to Collections. I did a System restore to a point on Monday the 20th (when it was working) - still nothing happens when I try to add files to the Collections
I use the Collections an awful lot so is there anyone out there who can help me fix this problem?
Read here > Apple Safari 5.1 and Adobe Reader/Acrobat Advisory
Use Preview instead.
Right or control click a PDF file you have on the hard drive then click Get Info.
Click the pop up button where you see: Open with
Select Preview (or if it's not available click "other" then navigate to the Applications folder then select Preview)

I need to make a pdf document, already made in photoshop, 'page turn' and then add it to my website as an e-brochure. I know I can do this in indesign but indesign will not open pdf files for some inexplicable reason. Any ideas how I can do it without completely starting again?
Hello waitingone,
please try this (all terms are translated from my German programs to my best knowledge):
1. Did the creator of the pdf file enable the import options?
2. See import options: choose an other visibility option for your layer.
3. Let you show the import options and click into one with a black background and try these out (often a gray is selected).
4. See trimming: try the different modes there. Often works: "Media".
5. Is the pdf file (eg from Word) correctly created?
6. Is the PDF file protected? >>> no import possible.
7. If that does not help, store the pdf file in Acrobat, repair possible errors, run the PDF Optimizer before placing in InDesign.
Good luck!

downloaded some java update for downloading support from Ontrack. SInce then firefox will not attach pdf files to my e-mail. not using g-mail, using yahoo. Windows XP. It will add small files (11kb) but just grinds on a 851kb file and never attaches it.If I choose to unclick "enable java" - the "attach files" box disappears from the attach files menu.
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.'' -
Safari will not open pdf files.
Safari will not open pdf files, instead I get a blank grey screen. How can I get a viewable and downloadable screen/file? Tried Alt/Option to view and it doesn't work either. Firefox and Chrome will not work either.
For Mac check the Safari preferences.
General to set the options for opening links from applications.
Tabs to set the other options.
Hold down the command key to open any link in a new tab.

Safari will not display pdf files since installing OS 10.8.2
Safari will not display pdf files uner Lion 10.8.2
Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -

Adobe Reader will not read pdf files on internet
I have lastest version of Adobe reader on a new mac running OS 10 Maverick. This has latest safari (7.0.1) as my internet browser. My adobe reader reads pdf files already present on my desktop, but will not read pdf files from the internet even after I allow "trust" this site. Can anyone help me to resolve the issue please. Is it a bug that Adobe has not solved??
Sorry if you did not understand my instructions.
Regarding bullet point 4: Check Reader >Preferences > Internet > Web Browser Options> The blessed app should be " /Applications/Adobe Reader.app"
You specified that you don't see the path, then it might be some problem in your installation.
Please see the attached image and let me know what you see on your system.
Regarding bullet point 5: Load PDF in Safari.
This means open any PDFs in Safari web browser.
Please make sure the below highlighted plug-ins are installed on your system by going to the specified path. And make sure the version of the below two plug-ins are 11.0.06. You can find the version by selecting the plugin and hit Command+i.
Go to your Main Hard Disk/Library/ Internet Plug-Ins/ AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Go to your Main Hard Disk/Library/ Internet Plug-Ins/ AdobePDFViewer.plugin

IP8720 will not print PDF files
My iP8720 will not print PDF files. It doesn't matter whether the file was created in Acrobat 8 Pro, Word, WordPerfect. It doesn't matter if the PDF contains images or just text. It does print files from Word and WordPerfect, as well as Photoshop, etc. PDFs seem to be the only problem. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. Any help woud be appreciated.

Do you receive an error when trying to print the PDF files, or does the printer give no error and just not even attempt to print?

My Office Print Pro 8600 Plus will not print pdf files sent to it from an iPad using ePrint.
My Office Print Pro 8600 Plus will not print pdf files sent to it from an iPad using ePrint. I just get an error message when I go to the HP Eprint centre. It does print the cover e-mail but nothing else. The attachment is not secure as far as I can see. I have tried sending an attachment from my Mac and that worked fine.
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hello krnkln3.
Are you trying to send the PDF as an attachment in an e-mail sent to the ePrint e-mail address of the printer or are you trying to print using the ePrint app?
Try sending the same PDF document to the printer's ePrint e-mail address and let us know if that works. If this works but using the ePrint app is not working, maybe the ePrint app is not working fine with this PDF document (it could be due to it's size or something else). Remember that you can always use the e-mail ePrint address of the printer to send PDF documents as the processing is happening at the HP servers and not in your iPad as when you try to send it using the ePrint app.
Cheers!

I'm having trouble adding files other than music to iTunes. If I add a file using file> add file to library, iTunes will not add the file, no matter what i do.
What kinds of files are you trying to add? iTunes will only add certain kinds of files. For example, I realized after about an hour of trying to drag and drop them into my library, that iTunes hates .wmv files, and I had to convert them.
