Collector output garbage when written to file?
Hello,
I am trying to average dynamic data over the course of 5 seconds and write the average of those 5 seconds to file at the push of a switch.
I have figured out how to get a switch to turn on for five seconds and then turn off when switched, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to average the data and write one line to the output file.
I have tried using the Collector Express VI paired with the Statistics VI, but the output is acting strangely.
I have attached what that output looks like here as test1
I would like to use a while loop with a shift register to make this work, but I am not sure how to advance.
Any Ideas?

I could not attach the file for unknown reasons, here is a screen shot of what it looks like.

SOLVED: Getting an Input/Output error when accessing certain files
My system started failing a few days ago because of sudden Input/Output errors when trying to access certain files. It was running fine until various applications started crashing like for example Pidgin (in retrospect probably because of DBus crashing). I decided to reboot and now can't login anymore because the DBus module fails to load which in turn means that HAL doesn't load either and so I can't use my keyboard to login.
The error message I get from DBus is that it can't access the file /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.PolicyKit.conf because of an Input/Output error. I tried to fix/see what was wrong using the arch livecd. Because I thought my problem had to do with a pacman update that had failed before I'd rebooted, I updated my system and I noticed that when pacman tried to access other files it came back with the same error message. The files seemed pretty random, one of them was fakeroot.conf and then several library files like libfaad (sorry this is kind of vague but I'm away from home right now and can't go online very often so I'm writing this from memory).
I'm guessing its a hard drive problem because checking the filesystem for errors came back with nothing. I was just wondering whether anyone had any other ideas before I go and reinstall. I'm going back home tomorrow so I'll be able to follow any advice/reinstall then.

It seems to be fixed! The second run of e2fsck fixed some more issues and the files that were causing the problems earlier seemed to have bad inodes. Boots fine now and I can get into my system. I checked and I still have a reasonable amount of free space so I don't think that was the reason ... I have no idea how the filesystem got so corrupted out of nowhere.
A few things are different, for example, it asked me to unlock the keyring and I couldn't mount my external encrypted drive anymore and had to do it manually with cryptsetup. e2fsck made quite a few changes so I imagine it's due to that. Shouldn't be to hard to fix though.
Thanks for your help! -
Wrong classes output directory when use of dependant projects
Hi,
JDev 10.1.2.1 but also in previous versions.
Windows XP Prof, AMD Athlon, 1 Go Mem
I have following setup:
Projects:
DTO (data transfer objects and utility classes used in other projects)
-> dependies: none
Directory tree:
MyWorkspace\DTO\classes
MyWorkspace\DTO\src
Model (model classes)
-> dependies: DTO
Directory tree:
MyWorkspace\Model\classes
MyWorkspace\Model\src
View (JClient app)
-> dependies: DTO, Model
Directory tree:
MyWorkspace\View\classes
MyWorkspace\View\src
WebView (Struts app)
-> dependies: DTO, Model
Directory tree:
MyWorkspace\WebView\deploy
MyWorkspace\WebView\model
MyWorkspace\WebView\public_html
For some unexplained reasons sometimes (difficult to reproduce)
JDev get confused and DTO classes, sometimes Model classes are copied to the View project classes directory.
Example utility class of the DTO project:
source:
MyWorkspace\DTO\src\com\photoswing\dto\util\TextUtils.java
instead of being generated in:
MyWorkspace\DTO\classes\com\photoswing\dto\util\TextUtils.class
is found in the View claases output directory (directory tree created by JDev):
MyWorkspace\View\classes\com\photoswing\dto\util\TextUtils.class
I noticed that regularly the JDev navigator has synchronization problems and can't find the class when activating the right-click Select in Navigator action in an open source file.
This generally happens when switching from source files of different projects.
Now if you compile a source file and the navigator has a synchronization problem following warning is displayed:
Warning: The file is not part of the active project DTO.jpr, compiled class will be written to DTO.jpr output directory
When only one file gets compiled this can be repaired easely by deleting the class written in the wrong directory.
But when several files are changed and are compiled the warning is only displayed for the current source file and all classes output trees must be scanned manually.
When testing the app if I'm not wrong JDev reads from the classes directories and doesn't produce a jar file, so deleting manually the wrong classes is a valid workaround.
But what if the app gets deployed and jars are generated?
I can't imagine myself changing manually the produced jars by removing the wrong classes and what about the manifest?
Your help is requested.
Regards
Fred
PS Can't provide a TestCase => happens in complex environment only.Glad to know I'm not the only one having that serious problem.
JDev by default create at least 2 different projects (model and view) so it seems to be a standard.
Working simultaneously on source files of different projects seems to the cause the trouble.
Is there somekind of patch available?
Could somebody of Oracle answer the question of the first message of this thread?
Thanks

Redirect garbage collector output to a historical file
Hello to you all,
I know how to redirect the garbage collector output to a file with the parameter -Xloggc:<file> but there is a problem: Everytime the jvm is rebooted, that file is reset, deleting all the information generated before.
I would like the jvm to append the new information to that file instead of deleting the old one.
Is there anyway to configure the jvm to do that?Hi you all again,
Probably I didn't explain my problem correctly in the previous post.
I'm using J2SDK 1.4.1_02 on a Windows 2K SP1 platform .
I've read the JVM documentation and I've learnt a lot about tuning garbage collection but almost nothing about how to solve the problem I have.
I know how to generate the verbosegc output with the parameter '-verbosegc' and how to redirect it to a file with the parameter '-Xloggc:<file>' but everytime the JMV is restarted the content of that file is deleted.
Is it possible to append content to that file instead of overwriting it and can anyone give me a clue to do this?
Thank you in advance. -
No XMP ID written when ingesting through file directory view.
I found that media ingested using file directory view do not get XMP ID written to them at any point of my workflow even if the "Write XMP ID to Files on Import" is checked on Prelude, Media Encoder and Premiere Pro. Those are mostly files from GoPro, Canon DSLR and Sound Devices PIX recorders.
Media ingested through specific view mode like AVCHD and XDCAM EX do get a proper XMP ID when ingested. I'm transcoding on ingest so it is not a write permission issue.
I'm using Adobe CS6 (up to date) on OSX 10.8.3
Does anyone else have the same issue ?Hi jenny.
Ok my post wasn't maybe that clear, I was talking about the unique identifier that is supposedly written in the Basic > Identifier metadata field when you import files in Prelude, Media Encoder or Premiere Pro with this option enabled :
For clips imported through specific view mode, it works just fine and they get a long random string of characters generated and written on the Identifier field. For files imported through the basic file directory view, it does not seems to work and the Basic > Identifier field ends up empty. Amongst other things, having this XMP ID avoid cache file conflict for files that do have the same file name. And as we work on multiple project at the same time on a networked storage, we do end up sometimes with different files having the same name used concurrently. No problem when they have the XMP ID, but when they do not cache related stuff tends to be acting weird (like rebuilding and piling up new .pek peak files over and over every time the project is opened, we can end up with thousands of them).
The fast and easy way to avoid this is renaming everything we're going to import through file directory view but I'd prefer being able to benefit from the automated XMP ID generation.
Everything else metada related works about fine for me. -
Duplicate namespace declarations when writing a file with JCA file adapter
I am using JCA File adapter to write a an XML file. The composite contains a mediator which received and transforms an XML to desired format and then calls a JCA file adapter to write the file.
The problem that I am having is that the written file has declaration of namespaces repeated with repeating elements instead of a single declaration at root. For ex.
instead of
<ns0:Root xmlns:ns0="namespace0" xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:ns2="namespace2">
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1>value1</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2>value2</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1>value3</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2>value4</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
</ns0:Root>What I see in the file is:
<ns0:Root xmlns:ns0="namespace0" xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:ns2="namespace2">
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1 xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:"namespace1">value1</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2 xmlns:ns2="namespace2" xmlns:"namespace2">>value2</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1 xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:"namespace1">>value3</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2 xmlns:ns2="namespace2" xmlns:"namespace2">>value4</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
</ns0:Root>So basically all the elements which are in different namespace than root element have a namespace declaration repeated even though the namespace identifier is declared at the root elment level.
Although, the XML is still valid, but this is unnecessarily increasing the filesizes 3-4 times. Is there a way I can write the XML file without duplicate declarations of namespaces?
I am using SOA Suite 11.1.1.4
The file adapter has the schema set as above XML.
I tried the transformation in mediator using XSL and also tried using assign [source(input to mediator) and target(output of mediator, input of file adapter) XMLs are exactly same].
but no success.I used automapper of JDeveloper to generate the schema. The source and target schema are exactly same.
I was trying to figure it out and I observed that if the namespaces in question are listed in exclude-result-prefixes list in xsl, then while testing the XSL in jDeveloper duplicate namespaces occur in the target and if I remove the namespace identifiers from the exclude-result-prefixes list then in jDeveloper testing the target correctly has only a single namespace declaration at the root node.
But, when I deployed the same to server and tested there, again the same problem. -
The niFPui.mxx plug-in caused an exception in the CmxAggregateItemUI::InvokeCommand function in the NIMax process. When saving *.iak file in MAX4.6
Hi There,
The subject header just about says it all. This is the first action I took with MAX - it is a fresh install. The file I wanted to save was still written and the FP seems to be working ok. However, I need to know what happened.

I did a research on your error message and it seems this problem was introduced with MAX 4.6. This version switched to a new error reporting mechanism and reports even errors that are which are not critical to your task.
These errors typically show up as "unexpected" and if your error falls into this category have a look to this KB for further assistance.
If it doesn't fall into this category, your could try to go back to the MAX 4.5 or 4.4.. Of course you would need to reinstall some components and might not be able to use newer drivers at all.
Let me know.

How to create sqlplus output spool to a flat file with a header record
Hi all,
I've requirement to spool data from a table to a flat file along with column headings in the first row.I'm getting data but I need header record in the first row also?
Thanks,
Mahender.Hi, Mahender,
If you give this SQL*Plus command before you start SPOOLing
SET PAGESIZE 50000then you can get the usual SQL*Plus column headings, and they won't repeat unless you have more than 50,000 rows of output.
When I can't do that, I use PROMPT
{spool}
SPOOL foo.txt
PROMPT empno ename job mgr ...
SELECT empno, ename, job, mgr ...
PROMPT will trim leading whitespace (unless you enclose it in quotes), but it will leave spacing between the columns alone.
You could also do a separate query, where you select some literals from dual:SPOOL foo.txt
SELECT ' empno ename job mgr ...'
FROM dual;
SELECT empno, ename, job, mgr ... -
Sun Studio 11 do not parse make output and create link to file?
Hi,
Running Sun Studio 11 and can only get file links in the output window when I run a make command that uses CC -g (debug option). We have integrated other tools into our make system (flexlint, cppUnit..) and even though we make sure that the syntax is exactly the same as the compiler output and matches regular expression under tools->options->building->make settings->error expression, it doesn't work. Why do you have to debug compile to get sun studio to create a file link in the output window? Doesn't sun studio just parse the text from the make command?
example of flexlint output for which no link is created:
"/vobs/project/oss/fm/fm4/fm-fmalib/fmbal/fmaaulib/src/FMA_List.cc", line 440: Error 84: sizeof object is zero or object is undefined'
example of make debug output for which we do get a link:
"/vobs/project/oss/fm/fm4/fm-fmalib/fmbal/SunOS5.10/inc/FMA_alarm_record.hh", line 1310: Warning (Anachronism):Info "static" is not allowed and is being ignored.
Regards,
OlaI'd second Maxim's suggestion: try NetBeans 5.5 with C/C++ Development Pack. The official release of NetBeans C/C++ Development Pack 5.5 has happened a few days ago. You can download it from
http://www.netbeans.info/downloads/all.php?b_id=2284
Some of the changes between the beta3 build and FCS are:
* Significant performance improvements in the code parser resulting in faster results in the Class View and Code Completion
* Programs now run in an external terminal (system dependent) by default. This allows better input control
* Significant performance improvement in the debugging module
* Significant functionality improvement in the debugging module
* New project type "C/C++ Project From Existing Code" which simplifies creating a project from existing code
* Macro support in code completion
* Hyperlink navigation for macro usages and #include directives
* Reformat code
* Code folding
* Code completion
All these features will appear in next Sun Studio release, so you can
consider NetBeans C/C++ Development Pack 5.5 as a preview of new
Sun Studio IDE. -
How to call a SP with dynamic columns and output results into a .csv file via SSIS
hi Folks, I have a challenging question here. I've created a SP called dbo.ResultsWithDynamicColumns and take one parameter of CONVERT(DATE,GETDATE()), the uniqueness of this SP is that the result does not have fixed columns as it's based on sales from previous
days. For example, Previous day, customers have purchased 20 products but today , 30 products have been purchased.
Right now, on SSMS, I am able to execute this SP when supplying a parameter. What I want to achieve here is to automate this process and send the result as a .csv file and SFTP to a server.
SFTP part is kinda easy as I can call WinSCP with proper script to handle it. How to export the result of a dynamic SP to a .CSV file?
I've tried
EXEC xp_cmdshell ' BCP " EXEC xxxx.[dbo].[ResultsWithDynamicColumns ] @dateFrom = ''2014-01-21''" queryout "c:\path\xxxx.dat" -T -c'
SSMS gives the following error as Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]BCP host-files must contain at least one column
any ideas?
thanks
Hui
--Currently using Reporting Service 2000; Visual Studio .NET 2003; Visual Source Safe SSIS 2008 SSAS 2008, SVN --Hey Jakub, thanks and I did see the #temp table issue in our 2008R2. I finally figured it out in a different way... I manage to modify this dynamic SP to output results into
a physical table. This table will be dropped and recreated everytime when SP gets executed... After that, I used a SSIS pkg to output this table
to a file destination which is .csv.
The downside is that if this table structure ever gets changed, this SSIS pkg will fail or not fully reflecting the whole table. However, this won't happen often
and I can live with that at this moment.
Thanks

I tried to import a PDF of a line drawing into Photoshop Elements. The thumbnail looks fine, but when imported the file is empty. This used to work in the past. What is wrong and how do I solve this?
Hi
The value of the Channel Strip volume etc is not stored within the C Strip setting, as you have discovered.
If you really wanted, you could add a Gain plug to the strip, with it set to give the correct output level with the Fader set to 0
(Or just set the fader manually in MS)

Error when rendering my file...
an output module failed. the file may be damaged or corrupted.(-1610153464), how can i fix
I'm having the same issue. None of the usual recommendations have helped. specs are below.
Thanks!
What exact version of After Effects? Include the minor version number---e.g., After Effects CC (12.2.1) or After Effects CS6 (11.0.4). Do not just say "After Effects with the latest updates" or "After Effects CC"; give the specific version number. USING AE CC 2014.1.1
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.) YES, UPDATED NVIDIA K5000 DRIVER AND AE
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac". PC WINDOWS 8.1
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)? AFTER EFFECTS ERROR: RENDERING ERROR WHILE WRITING TO FILE "FILE PATH" AN OUTPUT MODULE FAILED. THE FILE IMAY BE DAMAGED OR CORRUPTED. (-1610153464)
What were you doing when the problem occurred? What is the exact sequence of steps that you are taking? NEW COMP NO 3RD PARTY PLUGINS, SIMPLE SOLID IN 1920X1080 COMP, COMP ADDED TO RENDER QUE AS QUICKTIME H.264 100%.
Has this ever worked before? If this worked before by doesn't work now, what has changed on your computer in the intervening time? NEVER WORKED
Tell us about your computer hardware. Include CPU type and number of processor cores, amount of RAM installed, GPU, number and sizes of connected monitors, number of disk drives, and how any external drives are connected. INTEL ZEON CPU E-52690 V2 @3.00 GHZ 2 PROCESSORS, 56GB RAM, 64-BIT OS X64 BASED PROCESSOR, TWO CONNECTED 27 INCH MONITORS, NO EXTERAL DRIVES CONNECTED, STANDARD RAID DRIVE IN PC.
What versions of drivers for your graphics hardware do you have installed (including CUDA driver and driver for display adapter)? CUDA K5000 CARD, RECENTLY UPDATED TO VERSION 340.84 (11.1)
Do you have any third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU)? INVIDIA GRAPHICS CARD ONLY
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime"., NO SOURCE FOOTAGE, STRAIGHT SOLID ONLY IN COMP
Do you have QuickTime installed. (You should.) If so, what version? The answer should be specific, such as "QuickTime 7.6.2".
What other software are you running?QUICKTIME 7.7.5
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed? NO
Are you using OpenGL features in After Effects? YES, TRIED WITH IT OFF ALSO
Does the problem only happen with your final output, RAM preview, or both? ONLY FINAL OUTPUT WITH QUICKTIME FORMATS
Are you using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing? TRIED BOTH WITH AND WITHOUT
Are you using the ray-traced 3D renderer? NO
If the problem is with output, give your exact output settings (both render setting and output module settings). Screenshots help. 1920X1080 23.98 SQUARE PIXELS QUICKTIME H.264 100% 30 SECONDS LONG. EXPORT GETS 34 FRAMES IN ( NUMBER OF PROCESSORS BEING USED) BEFORE ERROR MESSAGE POPS UP. ALSO TRIED WITH ONLY TWO PROCESSORS RUNNING AND IT CRASHED AT FRAME 2 -
To download the Output of ALV to Excel file with Marco
Hello Masters ,
I m working on a ALV report in which either we can see the output or can download the ouptput and format that file before sending by mail..
the following steps are currently used to download and format the ALV output .
1. Save file form unix server
2. Download the file to computer.
3. Run a macro to format the execl file and
4. Send the file by mail.
Apart from this I have to implement a new functionality by which we can directly send the result to spool so that it can be sent directly by mail .
Can Anyone help me out????????
Thanks & Regards
Varlani AmitYou will be having all data to be send in an internal table, same as your ALV internal table.
you can provide a button or menu in alv screen to send directly without storing.
for this you
1. first write spool
2. send it through mail.
1. Writting a spool

Disappering cursor when placing multiple file in Indesign.
When placing multiple file (jpeg, tiff's, pdf files,etc.) in a indesign document, my cursor disappears. If you can get to the desktop and click on it, it will come back.
first started in Indesign CC 2014, Any fix for this?
Thanks, DennisHi,
This is an expected behavior, when you place an image in InDesign then it display the preview of the image however you this has no impact on the output unless the image placed is of low-resolution itself.
In order to have good resolution of images, you may switch to View > Display Performance > High Quality.
Thanks,
Manish Sharma

0MATERIAL & 0CUSTOMER shown several times
Hi All, This is probably a stupid question, but I can't think of why... Under InfoObjects we have, for example, 0MATERIAL & 0CUSTOMER displayed many, many times...but under different InfoAreas. Just some background, we have multiple R/3 systems feed
