College iPod rebate w/MacBook purchase - too late?

I purchased a MacBook on June 5th, 2006, before I knew about the iPod rebate:
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/0.RSLID?mco=9 3D19870&nclm=BackToSchool2006
Is it too late to go back, buy an iPod and get the rebate???

Here what I got from FAQ taken from your link, see point #3

  • Forgot to switch to Point Banking after Elite, made a purchase; too late?

I know that it's never too late to switch to Point Banking, but I was wondering if there's any way to bank points from a certificate that was earned after achieving Elite status.
What happened was that I lost Elite status at the beginning of this year, so I was back to certificates, after having been on Banking for a number of years in a row.  I achieved Elite status around October, but forgot to switch back to Banking.  Picked up a PS4 GTA bundle and some other things on Black Friday, and then I received an e-mail today informing me that I had a certificate issued and waiting.
Is there any way to convert that certificate back into points and just bank them?  I was eligible for banking before the purchase, so I'm hoping I can do that, but I understand if I can't.
    Thank you!
*disclaimer* I am not now, nor have I ever been, an employee of Best Buy, Geek Squad, nor of any of their affiliate, parent, or subsidiary companies.

    Hi cr_client,
Congrats on again reaching Elite status!
If points were converted into a certificate before you officially changed your certificate preference to BANK, then there may not be much we can do.  Once a certificate has been issued, it cannot be cancelled and the points added back into the account.  If you were to redeem the certificate and process a return or cancellation, then the certificates point value would repost to your account within 3 to 6 business days.
I would like to go over your My Best Buy account with you in a bit more detail to ensure that it is properly banking points, so I will be sending you a private message.  To check your private messages, you will want to login to the forum and click on the little yellow envelope icon at the top of the page.

  • I have created a keynote presentation in Keynote 08 on my macbook which was purchased in late 2007.  When I try to open the file on my macbook pro which I purchased in 2012 the jpegs all are altered.  They are muted in tones

Keynote created in keynote 08 on macbook purchased in late 2007
I opened the saved presentation on a new macbook pro and the images are all distorted.  The jpegs are altered and look like they had photo filters applied to them.  Some pictures look like infrared photos, color cast and such.  I'm running lion on both laptops.  the presentation runs fine with no hang ups and the spinning wheel of death.

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

You need to buy Snow Leopard from the online Apple Store. You don't need Mountain Lion.

I purchased apple tv but am unable to mirror my macbook purchased late 2009. will you please help me by answering

Even if it will run Mountain Lion it will not support Airplay Mirroing as it will not have the required hardware support.
You can try AirParrot which attempts to do the same in software.

I got busy over the new year and forgot to purchase Applecare for my iPhone.  30 days past purchase date is too late - right?

Thanks Peter.  I thought about that and had discounted the idea but since I am only 30 minutes away from my A store, I think I'll give it a try. I can be charming specially when I wear clean jeans and a nice top. :-)

  • I never heard about the Macbook recall for cracked casing along the bottom of the keyboard. Is it too late to get it fixed?

I never heard about the Macbook recall for cracked casing along the bottom of the keyboard. Is it too late to get it fixed?

I realise maybe your personal issue was sorted, but it may help others:
I took my wife's 3-year old Macbook into the genius bar yesterday expecting to pay for a new casing, but was told there was still an extended warranty for Macbook plastic case (provided up to 5 years old and no signs of abuse)
They will replace the top case and screen bezel at no cost, which I think is excellent service.

  • I dropped my ipod in the toilet, I haven't fixed it for months. I didn't know you could put it in rice, or to not open it right away. Is it too late to fix it, or a place? The ipod is really important to me, it has been with me forever.

I dropped my ipod in the toilet, I haven't fixed it for months. I didn't know you could put it in rice, or to not open it right away. Is it too late to fix it, or is there a place I could bring it to? I don't want to get a new one. The ipod is really important to me, it has been with me forever, and there is important stuff on it.

There are companies that specialize in data retrieval but it's costly (probably cheaper to buy a new iPod) and more than likely as Allan said, your circuits are probably damaged beyond all hope of retrieving anything. It's worth calling Apple you maybe able to get a discount or a refurbished iPod. Can't hurt to ask, Good luck. (And in the future... no texting in the john.) Sorry, couldn't resist it.

  • HT202575 I have a black macbook purchased in early 2008, will I be able to run Mountain Lion or any later editions of the OS? I currently have 10.6.8

    Hello,
I have a black macbook purchased in early 2008, and I'm wondering if it has the capability of supporting 10.7 or any later editions of the iOS.
I've upgraded the ram and the HD, so the current specs are:
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2
    Memory: 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2
    HD: 1 TB
    Graphics: Intel GMA x3100

    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
