College Student coupon never received

I purchased a Mac Book Pro for my granddaughter to start college.  I had planned to purchase it at the Apple Store but we took a chance that the Best Buy in Edwardsville, Il (an hour drive) would have the one she wanted.  We waited over half an hour in the store (with multiple attempts) to get the "College Student Deal" coupon without success.  We had to leave and I asked if we could purchase the computer and she could try to receive the coupon at home and bring it in for a credit. The clerk gave us two weeks.  She never received the coupon in her edu e-mail.  She confirmed her e-mail address with the school IT dept and they told her they think the problem is on Best Buy's end.   I have called Best Buy Customer Service  three times (with long waits and many transfers) without resolution to this problem.   I was told by one of the Customer Service representatives (in technical terms) that it may be being blocked and that she would never receive it.  I feel I have invested a great deal of time in trying to resolve this issue so yesterday, my day off, I went back to the Best Buy store to talk to a manager.  I was given instructions to go to this site for help.  Yet another diversion.  I am beyond frustrated at having spent so much time and effort on such a simple issue and am wondering if this is a method to discourage the customer.  When I purchased my oldest grandchild's Mac I did not encounter this problem - but I did not purchase it at Best Buy. Reading the other posts on this site I see that this is a common problem and wonder why.

First of all, best of luck to your granddaughter as she starts college! It's definitely a big step, and making the transition from outlined curriculum to more self-guided study can prove to be a challenge.
It sounds like you and your granddaughter have both tried a few different measures so far, so some additional research may be necessary to determine why she may not have received an acknowledgement message by now.     I signed up in store on Sunday, 10/5/2014 to receive college student coupons. They have yet to arrive. I got the message to confirm my address, which I did. I have also since gotten some email spam from Best Buy, so I know that those messages aren't being held up by my university.
    I need assistance, please. I have signed up in the past for Best Buy college student coupons (different university, different address) and I didn't have any problem. Got the coupons right there in the store while I was waiting. 
    I had to go ahead and purchase the laptop that I needed and the store manager said I could return with the coupons to get a refund for the extra money I paid.
    I'm extremely frustrated with this. Your email spam is no problem and I'm aware of all your current sales, but the coupons mysteriously are unable to be sent? Come on.
    Any help here would be more than appreciated. I've been patient, but this is a bit ridiculous.

    Being that you needed to purchase this laptop in advance of receiving the coupons, I can completely understand you wanting to receive the coupons as soon as possible. I am looking into this for you, and as soon as I have more information I will post back to this thread. I am assuming the .edu email address used to request these coupons is the one you used to register for this forum?

  • College Student Deal Never Received

    Hi,
    I registered my .edu e-mail for the college student deal about 6 hours ago, and after the website "accepted" my address, I never received further correspondence with the coupon codes that were promised in the initial e-mail. I also just spoke to someone in customer service who said my e-mail was accepted and encouraged me to check with the IT department of my school and my spam/promotions folders. My folders do not have anything, and I checked with the IT department and they have no block on such incoming e-mails.
    Could someone point me in the right direction to rectify this? My computer broke and I need to purchased a replacement in the next few days and I really want to take advantage of the $150 MacBooks for college students.

    Purchasing a new computer is a very exciting time, especially for those like me who crave new technology. However, I’m sorry to hear your future purchase may be due to your previous computer breaking! It sounds like while your .edu email address was accepted, you’re yet to receive any coupons. I greatly apologize and I’m happy to look into this further.
    Since you received the original confirmation email, I can only assume that your school should be allowing the emails that are coming from Best Buy. The fact that you checked with your IT department further ensures this. While the coupon emails usually show up within a few hours, there are times where it can take up to 24 hours while everything is verified with your email address and school.
    As you were previously advised, please double check your spam/junk email folders to see if you’ve now received the coupons. If not, and 24 hours has elapsed, please send me a private message with your full name, and the email address you used to register for the College Student Deals promotion.     The College Student Deals program certainly has some great offers and I would do almost anything to get a good deal on an iPad! Sorry to hear you haven’t received an email with these coupons. I would like to help you take advantage of those deals!
    Using your email address you provided here on the forums, I was able to see that you received some assistance in this matter today. Is that correct? Please let me know if you still need help with this and I will gladly look into it for you further.
    In the meantime, you may try checking your Junk/Spam folders in your .edu email address if you haven’t done so already. Also, I recommend speaking to your school’s IT department to see if they have been blocking the emails altogether, as this has been known to happen by certain schools. I should be able to supply you with the email address they are sent from if you need it for reference.

  • College Deals coupons never arrived...

    I registered for the college deals and verified my email address. but my coupons never showed up in my email... It has now been 6 days since i verifed my email address. I was hoping to purchase a new laptop since my current one has been giving me a lot of trouble. Summer classes are not over yet and I really need a new computer to complete my coursework. I am kind of disapointed since I called customer service and the only help they were able to provide was an email address that I could email to continue trying to get my coupons...

    It’s nice to save money whenever possible, especially when in college. I certainly would have appreciated it having access to some awesome coupons while I was a student a few years ago, so it’s disappointing to hear of the obstacles you’re running into while trying to get your hands on some. It sounds like you are being led on a wild goose chase, so I’d be happy to step in to eliminate some of the frustration you’re undoubtedly feeling.
    When signing up for our College Student Deals, one of two things should happen. Either your email address should automatically verified, or you should receive an email from our third party partner, SheerID, requesting additional information from you in hopes of verifying your account soon. After pulling up your Best Buy account using the email address attached to your forum profile, I see that you mention receiving an email from SheerID stating they successfully verified your eligibility to receive these coupons. As you should have received the coupons shortly after this, I’d suggest checking your spam/junk/promotions folders in case your email accidentally blocks marketing emails from Best Buy.
    If you find yourself without those coupons after checking the aforementioned folders though, please forward the confirmation email you report receiving from SheerID to [email protected] with the subject line, “Attn: Alex”. I’d be happy to review your case and see what options we may have available to us at that time.

    Ive been trying to receive the promo code for the $150 off the surfacepro 3 as well. I have verified my email address and even received a coupon email thing but it was only for a laptop and 2 in 1. Also, when I try to get to it from the "college student deals" thing under the deals tab on the website and click on the "$150 off surface pro 3" icon it just takes me right to the page where you can compare and add to cart.
    How can I get the promo code for the particular item I want?

    Getting an extra $150 off a Surface Pro 3 is nothing to sneeze at, so I can understand your desire to make sure that you received that coupon as well.  It’s definitely not normal that you received the other two coupons with getting that third one.

  • Movers Coupon and EDU College Student Discount on Macbook Air

    I just got off the phone with a representative and they said only one coupon can be used in a purchase. I told them that on the bestbuy forums, corporate allows both coupons to be used. I then asked to speak to a manager but she said no. I felt they were rude and unwilling to help. 
    Any help would be great.

    Thank you for sharing the details of your recent phone conversation with an associate at the West Hollywood, CA Best Buy (store 393). It pains me to hear you felt you were treated rudely by the phone associate and I am sorry if they didn’t display an attitude of helpfulness.
    It appears the associate may be confused on the ability to combine the College Student Deals and Movers Coupon together toward a qualifying purchase. While most of our coupons aren’t able to be combined with one another, the stores have received communication that this is possible with these two coupons specifically. I would be glad to reach out to the leadership at this store to confirm the necessary details of these offers in an attempt to clear up any confusion. It is important that you bring both of your coupons in and have gone through the activation process for your Movers Coupon prior to your visit.
    If you would like to make a visit to the store, I would recommend asking to speak with a manager in the event you are denied the use of these coupons toward your transaction. I hope you are able to provide me with an update after your next visit from your new MacBook Air!

  • College Student Discount Email I Received was Expired

    I signed up to get the College Student Discount Email but when I Received it , it wasan Expired coupon. It expired 5-03-14 and I signed up on 5-04-14. Also, when i go to the best buy website it still says that the offer is still going on. Can someone help me or inform me when the issue will be fixed, thank you.

     I was disappointed to read that, even though you signed up weeks ago you have yet to get an email with Best Buy College Deals. When you are signing up for the College Student Deals Coupon, there are a couple of things to consider.
    Frist of all, register your college email address ending in .edu. Within approximately 24 hours, you should receive an email with a link to verify your address.
    If you did not receive the email I recommend that you do the following:
    ·         Check your junk email folder or any folders that you use as part of your personal email filtering rules.
    ·         Contact your school's IT department to verify that they have not changed their email filtering criteria.
    You should expect the email with the discount within 72 hours of verifying your address.
    If you have already taken these steps, but have not received an email with the featured deals, please let me know and I will be more than happy to continue seeking the best way to assist you.

    Welcome to the Best Buy forum!
    When you entered your EDU email address online, did you receive the confirmation email?  It can take up to 24 hours to receive that email.  Once your email address has been confirmed, you should receive an email with the current coupon codes almost immediately.  On occasion though, it may take up to 72 hours to receive the coupons if there have been a lot of signups.  You can signup and view the current College Student Deals here.

    As AWBrown mentioned, one of the changes to our Unlocked program last November was that the @ Gamer magazine subscription is no longer a member benefit.  You are eligible for all the current benefits, which can be found at our article below.

  • Never received my welcome coupons

    As the subject line says, I never received my welcome coupons after signing up for the gamers club unlocked. I signed up for the program when I purchased call of duty advanced warefare on release night 11/3. My account shows the that program is active and I see the discounts on games when adding them to my cart. I just never received my welcome coupons.

    There`s currenly no Gamer`s Club/Gamer`s Club Unlocked membership cards although the idea is currently "under review" here(the 7th one down).

    All of your benefits can be had by entering your correctly linked MyBB account # or phone # attached to the MyBB account with GCU. If you have a MyBB/Reward Zone membership card once scanned it`ll do the same thing.
    In-store once your MyBB/phone info is scanned/entered there should be a pop up box prompt on the cashiers screen and you`ll be asked to verify the keypad info. Once completed the discount will be automatic.
