College Student Discount

I have signed up for the student discount promo code, but have not yet recieved it. It has been almost 6 hourse since I signed up, and was hoping to get the code to pick up a product later tonight. Is there any way to expidite this process?

Hello cauxier-
Welcome to the Best Buy forums!
Being a college student isn’t easy and not having any money is often part of that difficulty, so any opportunity to save some money on your education is usually a great benefit!  We’re glad that we can offer these student deals to college students who qualify.
Generally, the process to have your .edu email confirmed will take a few hours, but there are times where it may take 24-48 hours to confirm that email address.  Please also keep in mind that these emails may also be forwarded to your Spam/Junk mail folders and that some schools block marketing emails as well.  If you have not received that email yet after 48 hours, I would follow up with your school’s IT department to make sure that they do not block them.
I hope that this helps,

  • College Student Discount Email I Received was Expired

    Hi,
I signed up to get the College Student Discount Email but when I Received it , it wasan Expired coupon. It expired 5-03-14 and I signed up on 5-04-14. Also, when i go to the best buy website it still says that the offer is still going on. Can someone help me or inform me when the issue will be fixed, thank you.

    Hello rbravoch2,
I can imagine it would be quite confusing to receive a coupon that has already expired. I sincerely apologize for any confusion this has caused.
We are aware of the expired codes, and are working to correct this issue. You should expect to see a new e-mail with an updated code as of today, Monday, May 5th. Should you have any problem using it, please do not hesitate to let us know.
We appreciate your patience, and thank you for posting on the forum!

  • Do u get college student discount on an ipad ?

do u get college student discount on an ipad ?

You can check local retailers. Sometimes they don't have as much of a discount as a 'buy and iPad get a gift card worth....' or 'buy an iPad, get this bundle of accessories for.....'
You can also see what your college bookstore has to offer. May/may not but doesn't hurt to look.

  • Not receiving college student discount code.

I signed up for college student discount weeks ago and still have not received any deals. i am trying to buy the ipad mini retina but still have not gotten an email about a code

    Hello cleebot-
I was disappointed to read that, even though you signed up weeks ago you have yet to get an email with Best Buy College Deals. When you are signing up for the College Student Deals Coupon, there are a couple of things to consider.
Frist of all, register your college email address ending in .edu. Within approximately 24 hours, you should receive an email with a link to verify your address.
If you did not receive the email I recommend that you do the following:
    ·         Check your junk email folder or any folders that you use as part of your personal email filtering rules.
    ·         Contact your school's IT department to verify that they have not changed their email filtering criteria.
You should expect the email with the discount within 72 hours of verifying your address.
If you have already taken these steps, but have not received an email with the featured deals, please let me know and I will be more than happy to continue seeking the best way to assist you.
    Thank you,

    Hi leslovesasailor,
Welcome to the Best Buy forum!
When you entered your EDU email address online, did you receive the confirmation email?  It can take up to 24 hours to receive that email.  Once your email address has been confirmed, you should receive an email with the current coupon codes almost immediately.  On occasion though, it may take up to 72 hours to receive the coupons if there have been a lot of signups.  You can signup and view the current College Student Deals here.
    Thank you for posting.

  • Is it at all possible to still get the physical cd's for the CS6 from the adobe website with my college student discount?

I am currently a college student studying photography and my college gives us a free download of Adobe Creative Cloud Master Collection, but once we graduate it will be deleted from our computers. I graduate in May. I am trying to use my student discount to get the the CS6 Master Collection while I still can, but I would like to get the physical CD's to download the programs, and not the Creative Cloud apps simply downloaded over the internet. Is this still possible at all?

Meagancon it is likely you will be entitled to receive a download.  You are welcome to download and burn the installation files to a DVD.

  • Movers Coupon and EDU College Student Discount on Macbook Air

    Hi,
I was looking to buy a Macbook Air this weekend at the
Best Buy West Hollywood Store 393
    1015 N La Brea, Ave.
    (323) 883 - 0219
I just got off the phone with a representative and they said only one coupon can be used in a purchase. I told them that on the bestbuy forums, corporate allows both coupons to be used. I then asked to speak to a manager but she said no. I felt they were rude and unwilling to help.
    Any help would be great.

    Hello bsanc007,
Thank you for sharing the details of your recent phone conversation with an associate at the West Hollywood, CA Best Buy (store 393). It pains me to hear you felt you were treated rudely by the phone associate and I am sorry if they didn’t display an attitude of helpfulness.
It appears the associate may be confused on the ability to combine the College Student Deals and Movers Coupon together toward a qualifying purchase. While most of our coupons aren’t able to be combined with one another, the stores have received communication that this is possible with these two coupons specifically. I would be glad to reach out to the leadership at this store to confirm the necessary details of these offers in an attempt to clear up any confusion. It is important that you bring both of your coupons in and have gone through the activation process for your Movers Coupon prior to your visit.
If you would like to make a visit to the store, I would recommend asking to speak with a manager in the event you are denied the use of these coupons toward your transaction. I hope you are able to provide me with an update after your next visit from your new MacBook Air!
    Regards,

  • College Student Deal

I was having trouble with receiving my college student discount coupons and was wondering if you could help me. I am heading to college this year and am in need of a new computer. After stopping by my local Best Buy they told me about the student discount I would be elligible to recieve on a Lenovo Yoga if I signed up online. I signed up on the Best Buy website sending in my .edu email, confirmed my email on the email that best buy sent, and then no coupons were emailed. I have now waited the alloted 72 hrs and still no coupons have been sent to me (I checked my spam/junk mail also). Could you help me please!! Thanks so much for the help! -Katherine

    Hi there Katherine-
You must be very excited to start your collegiate career and I’m sure that these coupons would go a long way towards helping you get off to a great start!  I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t received any up to this point.
One thing to check into is to make sure that your particular school does not block these types of marketing emails.  Some schools have a filter in place that keeps these emails from going to .edu email addresses.  If your school confirms that this is not the case, please let me know and we can look into this further for you.
    Thanks!

  • Am I eligible for a student discount if its not going to be used for school or college purposes?

I'm in 12th grade and I'm a student at a public high school. Can you get the student discount if your not going to be using the software for school or college?

Well, all that matters is the school papers. Whether or not you use the software box as a door stop and nail the DVD to the wall as decoration is entirely up to you nor does the EULA exclude commercial use...

  • Spotify student discount won't accept my college!!

I've been trying to get spotify premium student discount and when I type in my college it won't let me click the drop down name to my university. Im not sure if it just doesn't work for my school or what is happening! Please help!

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.
If you still have not gotten a reply:
Did you get a confirmation email from the contact form? It should be similar to "Spotify Support Case #XXXXXXX". If so, reply back to that email and tell them you still need help.
If you got an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it saying you still need help, even if it's from a no-reply address.
If you never got an email, look in your spam folder to see if there is an email in there. Make sure you are checking the email account you used to sign up to Spotify. You can check the email on your account here.

  • I am a college student trying to decide if I should get a laptop of an Ipad 3 for college work. Which one would be better suited?

Please specify pros and cons if possible.

Other posters here made good points. A laptop is pretty much a necessity.
Many colleges require a laptop for class, so you might want to check with the school. My younger son, starting his junior year in college, recently got an e-mail saying he must have a laptop for class. Other groups were required to buy a netbook directly from his university last year with pre-loaded programs.
You might also be required to have microsoft word, excel, etc. as my sons have to. If you get a laptop, and need/want microsoft word, etc., you might want to wait until you get to school and find two others in the same position with same type of laptop (pc or mac) and split the family pack. You'll save a lot of money.
Also, neither an ipad or a netbook (they all crawl and do not come with much memory - we have two) has a dvd drive, and that could make a big difference to you.
An ipad is fun and very portable. If you can get both, good for you. Enjoy!
We were pc users until less than two years ago. Our computers were fried by a microsoft security update. We now have two imacs and a macbbok pro. They are so much easier - no more viruses frying hard drives - at least three each on our son's laptops, replacing $80.00 adapters, etc. We have saved money because of this. My older son (just graduated) has the 13" macbook pro 2010 and still loves it - incredibly fast, reliable and long lasting battery. We do not plan on using pc's any more.
Many countries have the student discount where on a 13"macbook pro you get a $100. gift card for the app/itunes store and another $100. off the price of the macbook pro (so $1099.00). So when you're deciding on a laptop, you might take this student pricing into account. You must buy directly from an Apple store, Apple online or your Apple approved college bookstore. You don't need the retina display version, the added cost, or the additional weight of a larger model. With savings, you'll actually be paying $999.00. Also, if you buy apps for your macbook pro, those apps can be used on up to five authorized family imacs or macbook pros. Given the prices of some apps, that can be  a great savings.
On the other hand, pc laptops keep improving (?) and might have sales because at at this point, they want to sell off the windows 7 versions before the new windows os comes out.
Whatever your decision, enjoy your new computer and college.

  • Macbook with student discount

I've just finished my A levels and will almost certainly be starting university in october. The question is, do I have to wait till then if I want to get myself a student discount?
    Cheers,
    sd

Student discounts are only available for college and university students. Proof of enrollment is required when you place your order. So, yes, you will have to wait until you have officially enrolled in a university or college.
Why reward points?(Quoted from Discussions Terms of Use.)
The reward system helps to increase community participation. When a community member gives you (or another member) a reward for providing helpful advice or a solution to their question, your accumulated points will increase your status level within the community.
Members may reward you with 5 points if they deem that your reply is helpful and 10 points if you post a solution to their issue. Likewise, when you mark a reply as Helpful or Solved in your own created topic, you will be awarding the respondent with the same point values.

  • Best Laptop for a college student?

Hi, I'm an entering college freshman at Mississippi State University, and I'm having a little trouble finding a laptop that meets all of the University Engineering specs.
    Here are the specs...
1.8 GHz or faster Dual Core processor or equivalent.
2 Gb RAM (2 Gb is the minimum required for Vista but we strongly encourage 3 to 4 Gb)
    120 GB Hard drive
    DVD-RW required
Video screen with minimum resolution of 1024x768
DirectX Compatible Video Card with 256 Mb RAM (512 Mb RAM encouraged for longer usability in graphics intensive fields)
    IEEE 802.11g wireless capability
    Ethernet (network) card
1 Gb minimum USB Flash Drive (thumb drive, memory stick, etc.) to allow easy transfer of files between computers.
    Required Operating System:
Windows Vista Business or Vista Ultimate with Service Pack 1 (Vista Home is not acceptable). Do not purchase the 64-bit versions of Vista. This version has not been checked for compatibility with software used in the various disciplines and needed drivers for some equipment  may not be available.
    Required Software:
Microsoft Office 2007 Professional to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks

Keep in mind that while the laptops may not be preinstalled with a "required" operating system, you can install a more suitable OS yourself.
There's a good chance you can get a SIGNIFICANT student discount through your school on the "required" OS since it's a relatively uncommon variant that most students aren't going to have.
For example, I think my girlfriend got copies of Windows XP for something like $10-20 through her school while she was a student.  I can get MS Office Professional for personal home use for around $20 through my employer.
It is possible to get VERY good (legitimate) deals on Microsoft software through employee discounts or student discounts.

  • How do I qualify for a Student Discount?

    Hello,
I'm currently studying Interactive Media at my college in the UK, and was wondering how would I qualify for a student discount?
Because I went to this link http://store.apple.com/uk/mac/education and the college that I go to isn't there, and I could really do with a more powerful laptop.
Hope to here from you soon,
    Jordan_Clow

We are not Apple, just end-usrs like you so cannot speak with authrity about Apple policies.  However this Apple site covers educational purchases. Links therein will show terms and conditions:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/findyourschool
That is from the US store. If that does not answer the question for a UK user, open the UK Apple Store and enter "educational" in the search window. One hit should be "Educational discounts."

  • Is there a student discount on macs

Im looking into buying a mac laptop and I was wondering if Apple offers any sort of discount for college students?

Yes, they do. Look for the Link for the Apple Store for Education, and enter your college. This will show you the Education prices your college has arranged.
    http://store.apple.com/us-hed
Typically, you save about enough to cover the cost of Applecare "for free".
There are also additional gift card promotions going on now, depending on what you buy.
Typically, these prices are good for having them ship your Mac to you. You may also be able to pick up on campus if you prefer.
