College Students Download Songs For Free?
I just downloaded two songs yesterday on my credit card. For some reason i still have the same amount still on my card. Then i thought back to a news article i read, it said that a college student with a valid college e-mail can download songs for free? Is this still true?
I used my college e-mail to setup my account,thats also how i got my new macbook. And is that also why i still not getting charged for the songs i downloaded?

It is not and never has been true for the iTunes Store. There have been some promotions where certain tracks were offered for free (long since expired). There also were other sites, such as Ruckus, where the college paid for their students to have access to music provided by the service, but all such sites I know of have gone out of business.
It's likely, as Gnome said, that the charge just hasn't hit your credit card yet.

I just downloaded a pre-ordered album and one song is corrupted and stopping just after a minute in. Can I redownload the song for free?
If you delete the song from your PC you can redownload it. Make sure you actually remove it from the computer, and not just from the library (select "Move to Recycle Bin" when deleting). To redownload you can go to the itunes Store->Purchased-> Download Previous Purchases. Within there you have the option to view all songs purchased, as well as all songs which are "Not In My Libraray".
If you don't feel comfortable deleting the song, you can just move copy/paste it somewhere else so that you've got it backed up in case the re-download doesn't work. -
I am traveling with my macbook pro and I forgot to install final cut express and quicktime pro before I left. How can I in a way download them for free on my laptop from where I am? I need them and don't want naturally to buy them again!!!

Regarding FCE, there is no way to download & install the product. You need an original FCE install disk and your FCE serial number.
Final Cut Pro X (aka FCPX) can be purchased & downloaded from the App Store. -

Pages is free for those that have purchased a new Mac. If you have never owned Pages before, then it is a purchase product for you. I suggest you look at the product reviews in the App Store, before you rush to purchase it. It is not a Word clone either.

iPhoto comes for free with every new Mac, so you don't have to pay.
If your Mac didn't come with DVDs or it came with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, open the Mac App Store, log in with the Apple ID you used to register the computer, go to Purchases and download iPhoto free of charge.

Howdid you buy iPhoto originally? Did it come preinstalled on a new macwith MacOS X 10.7 or later? Then you can download it from the Purchased tab of the AppStore:

I just purchased a 13" Macbook Pro on Friday and am trying to figure out how to download iPhoto and iMovie on it. For some reason there is a cost for each program in the app store. I submitted an up-to-date request for Pages, Number, and Keynote which should be ok, and I have downloaded garageband for free in the app store. Well, it hasn't worked that way for me.
I bought Lion for $29 from the App Store this morning, and DLed/installed it on my MacBook Pro with no problem. This afternoon I went to upgrade my Snow Leopard Server Mac Mini. Went to the App Store, clicked the Lion Server at $49.99, and was prompted that "because this is an OS X server, you must purchase a OS X Lion as well as OS X Lion Server, for $79.98" [Cancel] [Purchase Both]
If I try to install just Lion from my "Purchased" list in App Store, I get exactly the same message. If I try to install Lion from an install DVD, I get a "checking with App Store" and then the same message.
Spent over an hour on the phone with Enterprise Sales, who agreed that's not what was supposed to happen, but had no resolution. It isn't critical to me timewise so they are mulling the situation over.
My recommendation if you have SLS and clients to upgrade is to do the Lion/Lion Server purchase *first* for the server. Hopefully then the Lion license will be available for your other machines. I can't guarantee it, but I can guarantee that the other way *doesn't* work.
