College website problems

Hello again. This is kind of a specific problem. I go to ICC (illinois central college) in east peoria il. On our website, there is a link for "Blackboard", which is our access to grades, email, and online quiz taking. I have tried to access this website from my BB, a 8330 with verizon running OS 4.5, using the same username and password, but it says that my information cannot be found. Does anyone else have a problem like this?

You can get to the options to login but when you
do it doesn't recognize your data? Send u the link to test,
but in the mean time see the webmaster and see if your
account is valid. OK?

College website not loading ADOBE

I have tried all the suggestions on the adobe help section on their website. I have a problem getting flash player to work on a college website. I contacted the college admin and she stated that the flash player works with abode 10 on internet explorer. Then she also went on to say that the problem is not with the website but with my computer. I have tried everything i can order to get it to work. I uninstalled and reinstalled. What it is that I am trying to access is a flash card from studying the material in political history.lam having the test on Friday so I am in a bit of a predictment,. Can't access secure college website with 3.11 previously OK

I've been logging on as a visitor, once a week, to the Mount Holyoke College website for over a year without problem, but once I upgraded to Safari 3.11, I now receive a new warning, ""Can't detect hardware" which I've never seen before. Once I go through their registration process, I still get the same warning, and can't access anything on the Internet EXCEPT the APPLE.COM website. Is that weird or what? Nothing else has changed recently on my PowerBook except Safari (and other recommended Apple Software Update suggestions.) Last week I brought in a PC laptop/Vista, and logged on just fine. ;>) Their IT people claim it's a Safari/hardware problem.
How can I downgrade to the previous version of Safari, which worked just fine for me?

normal traffic uses http on port 80 by default
encrypted traffic using https is on port 443 by default
there are some sites that use different ports, but if you open 443 it should be ok for most
if you enable "personal web sharing" on the firewall tab it'll open those ports
non-default port numbers can be seen in the url, for instance...
http://www.port.com:8080/
...means http for this site is on port 8080 instead of port 80

I can access my college website with firefox on a PC but not a Mac.

The key to what you seem to want to do is to be able to get Apple's Time Capsule router to "join" the network that your Conceptronic router. I believe that works with some third-party routers, but I've never seen a list of those that work in such a configuration and I have no experience with Conceptronic equipment.
You might be better off with a Network-Attached Storage (NAS) device instead of a Time Capsule.

Why can't I log onto a link inside my college website, for my online class

Why can't I long onto to MoodleRooms through the Henry Ford Community College website link. I have an online class and I can't get in. I have logged on to this site on four different laptops, one including a public library and it's still not letting me log in. I thought it was my old laptop, but bought a brand new one two hours ago, and it's still not allowing me to log on. I can access all other links to other online classes through Ucompass link but not Moodlerooms.Please Help!

On firefox I can't log on to my college website (it was working fine before and no longer does) It works on other browsers, it is not a loading problem.

This is what happens when I log in on firefox only! "In an attempt to increase security, you are no longer able to use your personal email to sign into your myWalden portal. Please try again using your WaldenU.edu email." I am not logging in with my personal email, when I ask for password help this message appears making me think it is the Walden site, but I can log in with out a problem on any other browser:
"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Unfortunately, access to the myWalden portal is not available at this time.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience! " HELP! My college recommends your browser so I need it to work!

Uploading flash website problem

I made a website in flash and everything is working fine in
the files. When I tested the site on my computer everything was
working just the way it should. However when I finally uploaded it
to my server not everything worked. I had 3 galleries that wont
load, videos that start playing automaticlly( I have them stopped
until the user hits play) and a music player that works great
except one song does not play. I am so confused as to what is
happening I do not even know how to fix it. I have tried loading
the site to 2 different servers and the same problem happens on
both, my files work fine, just not on the internet. Has this happen
to anyone and more importantly do you know how to fix it? I really
need to get this site up soon and I don't know what to do.
Any suggest would be greatly appreciated.

Issues like these are usually something very simple, just not
always obvious.

I assume you are loading these externally into your main
movie?
If so, are you using actionscript which references the _root
timeline?
If you are, try to add:
this._lockroot = true;
on the first frame on the _root timeline of each movie. See
if this helps!
Another issue would be that the server might not allow script
access from Active content...but you have uploaded to 3 different
servers, it's hard to believe none of them allow it.
maybe its worth looking into?
Try that, and see how it goes. if you are still having
problems, post a link to the site, and i'm sure we will find a
solution.

Bootcamp with windows 7 from my college website.

Hi, I am a new mac user and I wish to use bootcamp to have windows 7 on my mac as well as macintosh. I am studying in the field of programming and my college allows me to download Windows 7 Pro for free. It is a legit version of windows 7 and is not pirated. I would like to know how I would go about doing this with bootcamp? With bootcamp it says that I need to put in a disc..How do I put in a disc if it is a download from my schools website?

most likely the Windows 7 download is in the form of an .exe file which in fact is a self-extracting archive.
Since Mac OSX cannot handle/run .exe files since they require a Windows environment you have to run it on another WIndows computer.
On it you should run the .exe file and should get the possibility to burn a WIndows 7 bootable DVD from it.
Maybe you can ask a friend with a Windows computer to help you.
You should also contact your schools IT-department for how-to make a bootable disc from the download.

Latest version of Mozilla not supported by online college website. Where can I get downloads for older versions of Mozilla that are supported. Specifically, 3.o to be compatible with Blackboard CE8.3?

I go to Greenville Technical College in Greenville SC where I take online courses. The school utilizes a program called Blackboard which runs something called Campus Edition 8 service pack 3 (CE8.3). This fall I logged in after taking the summer off to discover that my Mozilla 5 is not compatible with their system. The Blackboard support pages indicate that the CE8.3 is compatible with Mozilla 3.o. My problem is that I cannot find that version to download for a reinstall of the browser. Can you help me? School starts Monday!

Flash website problem / jpg in xml does not show in different browsers

Hello Everyone,
I am working on a flash website which is almost finished.
My problem is that I created dynamic loading content, so the contents in the flash ( Most of them) loads from .xml files. This xml contains text and jpg.
when i test the movie and final html it works perfectly and xml loads with all its contents in any browser.
but when I upload the website through FTP, the xml shows very strange ! . In IE only half of the jpgs loads and some content repeat itself, while in firefox none of the jpg loads.
The only images I can see are the one that I have directly put on the flash pages.
Does anyone knows a solution? I am desperatly trying to figure this out!!

I could figure the problem just right now. so Easy!!
I just changed the slash es in xml . So if the original one was : "thumbnail\my.jpg " I chanegd the slash forward "thumbnail/my.jpg". I also put the xml file, my images and swf. file in the same folder.
I tried it and it worked in firefox, google chrome and IE.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Websites can be coded to perform better with some browsers rather than others. The BB Browser can appear to websites as several different things...that setting is, from within the Browser App, (BBKey > Options > Browser Configuration > Browser Identification). Changing that to another browser might help your BB interact better with some websites. In combination with all of the other configuration settings, you need to find the combination of all of these settings that works best for the sites you are visiting. Sadly, there is no "best advice" to give as each persons needs are different. But, I typically find that changing the Browser Identification often helps -- most often by changing to FF or IE (if those are available to you...the options vary by carrier).

I recently upgraded firefox to 27.1 and it will not allow me to go log into my college website. It is also incredibly slow, what do I do?

I was previously able to log into humboldt.edu with the old version of fire fox, I finally upgraded because I was getting pestered with pop up windows saying I had to upgrade so I eventually gave in. Now, I am having to deal with scripts and manually having to block or unblock pages (which by the way is frustrating and I hate it, considering that I have no idea what I am doing) and I still cannot log into the one website that is vital in my life right now. I need this fixed now!

What is the block/unblock issue? Is this Firefox's setting that blocks "mixed active content" on secure sites? (Shield icon in the address bar; see [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]])
