Collocating third party ORBs with WLS

Hi,
One of the mechanisms mentioned for making EJBs double up as CORBA
clients for externally running third party CORBA servers is to collocate
the ORB (Visibroker 4.1 for Java, in my case) within the WLS instance
(WLS 5.1 in my case) and bind the CORBA client stubs into the JNDI tree.
Can anyone help with the fine print on exactly how to achieve this? I
have been looking at the docs and either I've been looking in the wrong
place, or they don't say much.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest that you make a start-up class that calls ORB.init(). You can also just bind corba stubs into the jndi tree. Lastly, you can federate a portion of the jndi tree to an external coss naming provider, the lookup/resolve should leave you connected to the orb.

7.0 is great however there are those of us out here who have spent hundreds of
          thousands of dollars using weblogic 6.x and are struggling through getting 2pc
          to work with different vendors. I would strongly suggest that BEA provide
          detailed documentation which consists of the following for 6.1 and greater and
          not put off till tomorrow solving the problems we as your customers have today
          Detailed setup information for
          1. IBM MQ
          2. Firano
          3. Sybase
          4. Oracle
          5. MS SQL Server
          With examples which work I mean full examples which show the following:
          1. Using JDBC to update a dbms on one connection pool and
          having a message sent to another XA resource which is persistent
          all part of a single transaction
          2. Using two connection pools two different servers doing simple
          updates/inserts using a single transaction
          3. Specific version numbers tested I know for sybase you mention their
          JConnect 5.2.1 but there is only 5.2 with EBF's and 5.5 with EBFs
          which specific sybase server version not just 12.x but 12.x with the
          following
          EBF's applied same for jdbc driver with complete example.
          It seems some of the more complicated operations are the least documented
          which is the inverse of what we as users would expect.
          We have spent probably 8-9 days with our dbas and myself trying to get item
          #2 above to work. Rob Wollen has helped in that it seems my sybase config is
          correct on weblogic but we still havent solved the problem. Perhaps it wont
          work
          with Sybase Jconnect 5.2 or 5.5 with 12.0 version of their product??
          I had also opened up a case back last october which totally was non-productive.
          So please please dont wait on new versions to fix documentation issues which
          are present today.

Third party benchmarks for WLS

Does anyone have a reference for third party benchmarks for
WLS 5.1 or 6.0 vs other J2EE app servers?
Also performance of built-in WLS web server vs Apache or NES?

Integration of JacORB as a third party ORB?

Has anyone used iAS7 and JacORB as a third party ORB?
I've seen the instructions about integrating iAS7 with Iona
as a third party ORB.
This doesn't seem to work with JacORB.

Problem in Partial Billing for Third Party Sales with Shipping Notification

Hello Guys,
There is one issue related to a scenario of Third party Sales with shipping notification. Here the basic process that runs
are : Sales order --- > PR -- > PO --> MIGO --> Billing document --> Vendor Invoice Verification.
In this specific scenario, partial billing is not happening and the billing relevance for item category "B" and in copying control data
from sales order to billing doccument, the biling quantity field is "A".
Could anyone throw some light on the configuration part so that partial invoicing can happen ??? Please make a note of the fact
that billing documents are generated after MIGO is done.

Integrating third party recruitment with SAP

Hi folks,
I had a question regarding intergrating the third party system with SAP HR masterdata. I am basically looking at transferring the applicant data from the Recruiting (third party tool ) system into SAP HR Masterdata. I found using the feature PAPLI something like integration could be done. I do not know how ???
Right now, at the click of button something like Data transfer (entering the applicant id) can be manually imported into SAP Masterdata from the SAP recruiting module on the same system.
Can such a process be achieived using a third party tool? Is direct transfer process from the thrid party tool into SAP Employee Masterdata possible? Is the feature PAPLI (found from IMG) something like this can be accomplished?
The version we are using is SAP 4.6C
Any thoughts or leads in this area will be highly appreciated.

I am not sure of any standard integration programs specific to recruitment, but through customization we can integrate third party rectt systems like People click, HRP etc.
Develop inbound programs with ALE-IDOC system to transfer the data to Rectt tables.
The switch will control activation of integration between the systems.

Need connectivity of SAP Oracle with Third Party tool with dsn

Hi Friends,
We need to access SAP's Oracle database with third party tool with the help of dsn creation. For that we need to create 2 staging tables and need a new segment for these tables. Our data will move from SAP transactions to these 2 tables and we want to fetch this data via dsn into another third party S/W.
I am unaware of such kind of working, can you please help me how to create new segment and how to create dsn for accessing tables in this segment.
Our requirement is as follow.
The staging tables are required in the SAP database with user name and password. The user should have all access to the staging table only.
Requesting your kind help on this issue. Please suggest for further processing of activity.

Common way to integrate SAP (database) with third party Application is to use and implement SAP Connector (Java or .Net).
Using this, you can fetch the data from SAP database to use it in Third party application.
As per my understanding the method you mentioned, will void the SAP database license term.
So Please check before doing such configuraiton. Also that method is NOT recommended..

Your question is too vague since you give no information as to this third party application. Is it an application you wrote? Is it an application that you cannot change? Does it have a programming interface? Can you eliminate this third-party application and control the photon counter yourself? I've already read the steps in trx. spro and several documentations in sdn.
There was a hint to trx. ictconf, wsconfig, lpconfig, wsadmin. If you call these transactions there
is a message that these trx. are old and trx. SOAMANAGER should be used.
Question is how to activate the webservice "ICT_SERVICE_DESK_API" in SOAMANAGER.
I've never handled with bindings and proxy classes.

I've installed Sun J2ME Toolkit 2.1. If I intend to use other third party APIs with my existing toolkit, how do I do that. I can manage to get the jar file of the associated API classes, but how to integrate the same with the toolkit. Thanks in advance to all who support.

if I remember right, it is enough, if you put the .jar of the api in the lib/ directory of your project (<WTK>/apps/<yourProject>/lib/ )

Yep got it. Shoud have refered the docs before asking this question. I used the following menu item to add a third party .jar file
Project->Project Properties: select the Paths option and add the required jar file by selecting the "Required Libraries" tab.
