Color 1.0.4 update

The 1.0.4 Color update has screwed up it's ability to recognize AVI files. Normally, I use MOVs, but the film conversion software I use transfers to AVI. I have 8 Macs running Color and only the machine with an older version of Color continues to recognize the AVIs. So I'm certain it has to do with the update. Is there something I can do, besides time consuming conversion from AVI to MOV?

If you're sure it's the update, then use the steps on the linked page below to uninstall/reinstall Color (just use Color instead of Compressor and Qmaster).

Color themes won't update in Illustrator

Hi,
I've had this issue for a month now, had very poor help from adobe's twitter and the specific adobe color forum. My color themes will not update in illustrator, if I click refresh I just get the message 'can't connect to the adobe color website, you may be offline or the server may be busy'.
I've tried everything, full CC reinstall, illustrator reinstall, signed in and out a million and one times, deleted preferences. Nothing will fix this one specific issue. Can someone please help me out as it's driving me insane.

Tehere may be a number of things disturbing and confusing Illy. You may have a look at the list. Maybe Item 7) or something else under 5) can be relevant.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Color Printing Problems after update dec28/07

Last night I installed the latest updates for PS CS3 on 2 machines and both machines have the exact same color issues while printing with two different Canon printers.
The Problem:
Since this last update all images I try in print from 16bit ProPhoto or AdobeRGB 16bit, converted from Canon RAW through ACR look sepia tone, there is virtually no color (images still look as they did before on my monitor). In order to get the color to print I must convert image profiles to 8 or 16 Bit sRGB. I have not changed any settings after the update and confirmed that the update made no changes to the printers set up. sRGB 8bit jpeg images print color as seen on the monitor.
BOTTOM LINE: I can no longer print ProPhoto or AdobeRGB color space on my 8 color Canon Printer

Both computers are PCs, one on XP, one on Vista, and printers are Canon i9900 and Canon ip4000 both are printing exactly the same way. Swoped printers between PCs with same outcome. Only changes made to both PCs was the CS3 update.
Jeff, I thought the problem may stem from the ACR RAW conversion as regular sRGB jpegs print the color as seen on my monitor. I have also submitted this question to the general PS forum...

Invalid Color Space error after update Reader to 9.3.3

After updating Adobe Reader to 9.3.3 I run into the Invalid Color Space error when trying to open a PDF file created with CorelDraw 12 in the format PDF/X-1A. This format needed by a printing office to print the file. The strange thing is that Reader opens older PDF files exported from CorelDraw in thsi format normally without the error message.
It happens only with PDF exports made after the Reader update. CorelDraw settings are as previously used.
Exports in other formats, other than PDF/x-1, X-1A and X-3 open normally. How to solve this??

I have the same doubt: as davidpn: Will Adobe Color CC (FKA Kuler) sync with Photoshop CC, as Illustrator CC does?
Regarding the answer: "checkout the new Photoshop CC 2014, color themes would be available under Windows->Extension".
I'm currently using Photoshop CC 2014. Under Window>>Extensions I don't see "Kuler" nor "Adobe Color".
I tried clicking to "Browse extensions online..." and it opened a webpage, I couldn't find it there either.
To summarize:
Can we or can't we use Adobe Color the way we use it in Illustrator ? Or any other way (besides downloading the swatch).

Color 1.0.4 update not working - vram issue?

so i just updated Color via software update to 1.0.4 - i try to open it, and it's telling me that i need 124mb vram - ? Now color won't open at all. do i have any options of salvage? or do i have to re-install? ****...

You will be asking the machine to do more than it is really capable of. "Overclockers" do this kind of thing to play games faster -- not really a professional approach.
Overstressing the cards will lead to early burnout, but operationally, the most likely result is unpredictable behaviour, renders with artifacts, random crashes, that sort of thing.
From an operator's point of view, even MacBookPro is not the preferred choice of platform unless its the full HD-monitor version. Normally, the displays on MacBooks are too small to even accommodate the User Interface-- let alone present any kind of meaningful rendition of the media under correction.

I lost all my color themes in the update from Kuler to Color CC.

When I went to use the Kuler app on my phone, I saw it is now Color CC. All of the color themes are gone! How can I retrieve them? I've logged into my Adobe acct and they are not there. Please help!

Please take a look at these steps below. Let me know if this guidance does not help.
If you have signed in to your Color (aka Kuler) app before, your themes are safe. Most likely, your themes are all synced to the Color service. Here’s how to find them:
Website: navigate to color.adobe.com and sign in. Click on the "My Themes" tab. Your colors should be showing up there. Note, at this moment in time, you cannot save themes from the color.adobe.com website directly to a library. This only works with the iOS application.
iPhone/iPad: if you aren’t seeing your themes, but you are signed in, the problem is most likely solved by switching the library you are using. You can do this by tapping the menu bar at the top of the theme gallery. From here, you will see a menu that allows you to select to either save themes to color.dobe.com or to a CC library. Your old themes are stored in the color.adobe.com option.
Desktop software: (I.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign) you can always find your colors on the Color Themes panel. This is located in Windows/Extensions/Color Themes for PS and ID. And, Windows/Color Themes for Ai. If you are looking for a color that you saved to a library from the mobile app, you can find this in Window/Library. Note, you must have the most current versions of PS, AI, and ID for this to work.
If you have never signed in to the app before, you themes are not saved. The only option you will have, at this point, is to restore your phone from a back-up via iTunes. Note, we’re working to release a new update that will allow users to carry themes forward to the updated version. And, I’m really sorry about any problems this may have caused. Can anyone tell me how to change the colors on my IPhone with the new IOS update?

Nope, this only changes it to black and magenta. I wsh I could find it again, it's there I promise.. There is a whole list of colors, I changed it to red and want to see if black is better. Just don't care for all the blue..

My Kuler (now Adobe Color CC) Color Themes are not updating in Illustrator

I've created some new colour themes in Adobe Color CC and saved them however they are not appearing in illustrator. My older colour themes from weeks ago are there but not the ones i created today. It says last update at 9am (gmt) this morning, its now 4pm. Why won't this update?

Ipad2 now only has grayscale screen colors after 8.1 update

WWhy is my ipad2 screen diisplay black and white only after iOS 8.1 update?.......grayscale and inverted color options are turned off.

its the iOS 8.1 causing that issue and there's nothing that can be done until hopefully Apple fixes it in a future update. I don't have a grayscale issue on my iPad 2 with the iOS 8.1 update instead all shadows and reflections within a picture show up blue which makes it nearly impossible to watch a movie or video. Don't bother with restoring your iPad as I have tried it many times nothing works. Apple didn't do their research as the iPad 2 doesn't seem to be capable of running iOS 8.1.

Photo color changes when I updated to ios 7

I recently updated my iphone 5 to iOS 7 and noticed that there are slight changes in color when you take photos? The color differs when you switch from the photo mode to square mode. When you take photos in the photo mode, the picture is darker compared to photos taken using the square mode. When my phone still has ios 6 installed, the color of the photo and square mode are the same. Does anyone experience the same problem? I tried using iphone 4s updated to ios7 and the color of the picture taken it photo and square mode are the same.

You cannot delete it. The camera app is on the iPad somewhere.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for it.
Check Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that you didn't disable it.
You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Color Balance Changed with Update

I have some HD Test pattens that I use to calibrate my video projector with via my AppleTV and my Win7 computer. Both are connected to the projector via HDMI though a switcher unit. The Projector sences a different input when the swithcer is changed allowing me to set indivigual balance levels for the ATV or Computer.
Unit the update the settings were very close between each unit. The Win7 machine has perfect color balance through Red Green and Blue filters. The ATV was never perfect but very close.
Since the update, and here nothing has changed except the update, the ATV colors are well off running the same test signals. The RGB levels are out. I have tried each of the 3 signal feeds from the ATV in the settings menu, but nothing.
The colors now seem to be too vibrant and look false. I can componsate for this in the projector, but why did it change?
Has anyone else noticed this? Again all that changed was the update!!

The closest I could getting it back to the same colors before the upgrade is changing it to the RGB Hi setting, and limiting the HDMI Color in my projector to Limited, then adjusting the Brightness very slightly. Everything now is much closer to the correct color balance through Blue test glasses. Still not as perfect as it was, or running off my Win7 machine.
Nothing has changed in my setup apart from the ATV Update. Do they not check this stuff!!

Epson R3000 printing wrong colors after Apple software update from 24th January

I updated the EPSON driver version 2.16 within the Apple Update. Now the colors are wrong. I restored Library\Printers\EPSON from Time Machine with date 18th January. But I have still the problem.

RGB Color Corrector errors since update 6.0.2

Hey guys,
since i've updated Premiere Pro CS6 to version 6.0.2 yesterday, all projects in which i use the RGB Color Corrector have errors while rendering the work area. Rendering is not possible until i delete the effect. Same problem with new projects.
Are there any solutions? Do you have this problem too?

thanks for your input, but I have 7.5 hours of video that is ready to go out the door to a customer who is waiting. I don't use creative cloud because at 68 the last thing I want is a new learning curve every few weeks. I have a few years of learning and have been very successful producing video that is very good for my needs. I just want to have the product that I have been using for all this time, to work correctly. If the RBCC problem has been fixed in the CC version, then why is it not available to someone who has clients who depend on their work, but happen to be using the standalone version. I'm sure that the cc version is really good and there will always be new improvements, but for lectures and seminars, CS6.0 is great. I would just like to know who to contact at Adobe to get the fix for this. Someone said somethinhg about going back and using the 6.1 version, which maybe means a reinstall. I don't know when I updated to 6.3, but I'm not sure if it came with the disk upgrade I received late last year.
I was on hold on the Tech phone line for an hour, and gave up. Will try next week. So far, the only people at adobe who have made themselves available to actually help me are the people who sold the program to me.
If there is an update to fix this, why can I not get it. Do you have a number I can call at Adobe?
Sorry for the rant but Adobe leaves me feeling quite alone with a product that I have used, recommended, and had good luck with, util now when I have a problem.
