Color Calibration Issues with iPhoto 7.0.2 and H-P Photosmart 7360

I'm having color calibration problems with print output to my H-P Photosmart 7360
since iPhoto 7 and above. Is anyone else encountering this? I'm consistently getting
darker output on the printer compared to what's on the screen. Up until iPhoto 7, the
match was dead on, what you saw on the screen is what you got on the printer.
Any suggestions?

I found my MBA's color calibration has changed dramatically after installing OS X Mavericks. The shared links, icons at doc etc. are highly saturated. Are you experiencing the same problem? How to solve this?

Did anyone find a fix yet? I'm experiencing the same issues... In my case it possibly affects icons but also photos, and more remarkably so: colors appear too contrasted and saturated, especially reds. Crushed blacks, loss of detail in dark areas, and overall darker images. Both in Safari and when I browse and preview pics in Finder. For whatever reason, the color change is especially noticeable in thumbnails... This is unacceptable for me. I don't want any filters whatsoever. Anyone got a clue on how to reverse this behavior? Please Apple, fix this.

All of a sudden File compatability issues with IPhoto & digital camera

Anyone have issues or solutions for solving file compatability issues with IPhoto & digital camera? Worked okay for years but all of a sudden giving me error messages about file format. My camera uses Jpeg.

There is an issue ongoing between 10.6 and Kodak cameras. Workround: use a USB Card Reader.

W540 Color Calibration issue

I've had my W540 for a couple of weeks now and initially it calibrated the color no problem with the built-in sensor and X-rite software. However it is now time to re-calibrate and I get this message:
"Display has been changed. Please run panel replacement utility to restore your ability to calibrate."
The display hasn't been changed and I don't have this utility anywhere on my machine, nor can I find it in the downloads....anyone know what to do here (apart from sending the whole lot back to lenovo - the quality of the W540 is appauling, it arrived with a broken keyboard and as with everyone else if I had known about the touchpad I would have fought having this machine imposed upon me).

I have a similar problem. Within device manager it states Generic PnP monitor. I am running Windows 8.1, and upgraded from Windows 8.0. I cannot calibrate my screen - the software states that no sensor is present. If I roll back to Windows 8.0, it all works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the Pantone software and the display drivers and it still doesnt work.
****I just managed to solve this problem by downloading and installing the nvidia and intel graphics drivers seperately from the Lenovo website. Color calibration works absolutley fine, and my monitor is listed within device manager as wide viewing angle and high density flexview display. Downloading and letting them install using the Lenovo solution centre did not work.

Issue with Visibility Settings for Backgrounds and Layers

I am using Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.10 (Windows) and having an issue with visibility settings for layers and backgrounds. I am attempting to get backgrounds to appear while viewing in Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro but not be printed and so far have had no success.
When using a background the Appearance Options dialogue has "Show when printing" unchecked, but "Show when displaying on screen" is checked. This results in the background not showing on the screen, and the background will only appear once the box for "Show when printing" is checked. It looks like the option for printing is dictating whether or not the background is able to appear.
Using layers has not worked either. The background layer is set to "Never Prints", but will still show up when printed.
I was wondering if anyone else has run into this and has a solution, or has any recommendations.

How are you adding the backgroud?
The only way I can think to accomplish this is via a watermark.
The basics...
Open PDF in Acrobat. Choose Pages > Watermark > Add Watermark.
Select a jpg or PDF of your background and adjust scaling options as desired.
Then click the Appearance Options.. and uncheck the Show When Printing option.
In this image the PDF is a blank page with the word "Test" on it. The watermark is the stamp and impression (a stock photo jpg).
If you want a solid color background, just create a flat image of the background color for use as the watermark.

Do i create a slideshow in iPhoto and then it will automatically pop up on my apple TV Photos? or is it really not that easy? i don't want to do airplay......i would like to sit and enjoy it with her.

Maybe this is relevant: I bought iphoto from the German apple store but I now live in Italy. I have tried German credit card with German invoicing address and Italian shipping address. And I have tried Italian credit card with Italian invoicing address and Italian shipping address. The phenomenon is the same: shipping address appears in red and I am asked to fill in the mandatory fields (which turn red whatever I enter).

what is the setting for the Print Products Store in the Advanced Tab of the iPhoto Preferences?
The country you select there has to match the billing address. And your billing address should match the country of your AppleID and credit card used with the AppleID.

OSX 10.9.1 Compatibility issue with Sharp Aquos PN-L702B and PN-L802B

I have Mac Mini's connected to the Sharp Aquos PN-L702B and PN-L802B touch screens and after updating to 10.9.1 am experiencing what appears to be a compatibility issue with the Sharp TPM driver and the OSX 10.9.1.
Everything works perfectly previously on 10.8.4 and 10.8.5. I did not test on 10.9.0 as I went straight to 10.9.1. Anyone else having this problem? Any thoughts on resolution?

OK so perserverance seems to have helped here - i used the cmd R function on start up to get to the page where i can re install OS X Lion - Safari now working.
However i have Office 2011 for MAC and now Excel wont start so i will post on another thread for help with this

Issue with Acrobat 10.1.2 and Windows 7 64-bit Preview Handler

Hi. I work in an enterprise environment that is currently migrating to 64-bit Windows 7. The only version of Acrobat we have approved for Windows 7 is 10.1.2. We're seeing an issue with this version that causes the preview handler to not work. The preview panel in Explorer is just white and will eventually give the error "Preview handler surrogate host has stopped working." I've tried to fix listed on http://www.pretentiousname.com/adobe_pdf_x64_fix/index.html but that registry key is already correct. Our current work around for these users to just install Reader X1 and make it the default PDF handler, but I would like to find a better solution. Is there a known issue with Acrobat 10.1.2 and 64-bit operating systems? Or is there a way to change just the default preview handler?

Most of the info on the web page you link to is 2-4 years old. I doubt it applies. Your workaround is actually the best solution: It's always preferred to use the latest PDF viewer. Reader and Acrobat can exist on the same machine.
Also, why 10.1.2? There have been 6 releases since then with documented security enhancements (meaning there are also published vulnerabilities which are patched), bug fixesm, and feature enhancments.
I'll ping some folks about the error you are getting. . .

Here's some information on an issue that we've identified with Matrox products and Encore CS5.1:

Still flickering on Encore even when rendered in MPEG-2 DVD in Pemiere Pro CS5.5. Looks perfect in Premiere Pro.

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

I am using Aperture 3 to edit RAW and JPEG photo images on my Macbook. I am having color printing issues with my Canon MP640 Pixma color printer. The image I see on my macbook is not reciprocated in printing from my printer?

My issue is that I am not getting print quality compared to the image I see on my screen. Just recently it has been very wishie washie. My printer is supposed to be excellent for producing color prints
I have contacted Canon support but they told me that the signals that are sent to the printer originate from an Apple product, therefore, it is an Apple mac problem not there's. I am wondering if my on screen proofing and/or printing profiles are correctly set. I notice that in 'print profiles' there are nine different options for printing from my particular printer. How confusing is that?
I have also found that when I choose a high standard print option my photo print comes out very red.
Can some kind person please help me? I don't seem to be getting any help from anyone else! Thanks in anticipation.

You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor. This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow. What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer. The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".
Have you read the User Manual chapter on printing?
