Color changes when viewed in outside program or on the web!

This is a long ongoing problem. Here goes:
After editing a raw photograph in CS3 and saving it... when I open it in another program such as Canons DPP, Zoombrowser or upload it to the web it looks desaturated and the sharpness I applied via USM is very dulled.
My camera is set to sRGB as is all the settings (that i know of at least) in CS3.
I feel like its not a calibration issue because if I edit the photo in Canons DPP and upload it to the net it all looks exactly the same. Also, i just did a quick drastic change to a photo in DPP and opened it in Bridge and it looked alright, no drastic change. So it seems like its an issue with info coming out of CS3.
I've tried monitor calibration with a Huey... but I have a feeling theres a strange coating on my screen that keeps making the calibration come out abnormally greenish no matter what light I calibrate in.
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated, as this problem has halted all my photography work since i changed from using just DPP to CS3. The raw files are just piling up!

That won't necessarily work if the classpath is set when the application server is started. I would check the batch file that starts your app server to see what the classpath is in there. From there you can determine if your class files are in the classpath or not.

  • Color Change When Viewing Media

    Hey All,
I have a question and I was wondering if anyone has stumbled onto this.
I bought a MBP about three weeks ago and suddenly ran into this issue.
Whenever I open VLC to play a movie, the colors on the monitor seem to wash out and look like the contrast of the display has been turned way down. As soon as I close VLC the colors seem to return to normal.
I thought that this might be tied to the feature in the settings where the computer can automatically adjust the screen brightness but I disabled that and the problem still persists.
I tried to take a screenshot to show this but when I take a screenshots the two come out the same. What on earth is this????

Don't panic!  Apparently, it's a graphics card switching issue that appeared in OS X 10.7, was fixed in 10.7.3 and has reappeared in 10.8.  Interestingly, I had the same problem when I bought my MBP at the end of July, but appears to have gone away after updating to 10.8.1 although, this wasn't a listed bug fix.
This is a problem that has been logged with Apple as the guys on the local Genius Bar have experienced it with their own MBPs and have reported it.
A "fix" listed elsewhere on this forum is to switch off automatic graphics switching (in System Preferences > Energy Saving) and reboot your MBP.  The colours should come true after the reboot and, because the graphics switching is turned off, using graphically intensive software does not switch to the nVidia card (because it's already switched on) so does not trigger the colour changes you have experienced.
I, along with many others await an official fix from Aplle, but until then, I hope the above helps with your problem.
    Dave.

  • On my 4 yer old imac when I run aps/programs or on the net with my Itunes runnig everything runs super slow, turn off itunes all runs fast again, any ideas

On my 4 year old imac, when I run aps/programs or on the web "with my Itunes runnig" everything runs super slow, when I turn off itunes all runs fast again.  Note I have upated all software.  Any ideas out their.  Thanks William

2gb of RAM is not a lot for keeping too many apps and the OS running comfortably. Have you tried running with as few apps open as possible at any one time - preferably just the one you are currently using, to see if this improves performance?
Also, you could launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder and it'll give you an idea of what is going on memory-wise.

  • Color changing when Saving Photo -

We sell coins on our website - So the color makes all the difference in the world to weather you want to buy the coin or not. We use a Nikon to take the pics - Pics come out great, the colors looks like actual coin when viewing in photoshop and in the XP viewer and when we ever have to print the pic. Here's the problem, when we go to save for web its changes the color drastically. A penny that once had a red tone to it now has a brown tone. I've read all over the place for ways to fix it and we've tried them all. Changing the monitor color profile, converting the profile, etc. I understand that everyone's monitors are different and everyone is gonna see it differently anyways, but it would be nice if the pic would like the same on our computer vs the website. It seems like when we first starting do this several yrs ago we didnt have this problem. Has things changed within the program and/or the web to have made these changes happen? Is this something we are gonna have to deal with? We dont have the time to adjust every single picture to make sure the save to web looks right.
    ANY SUGGESTION....

The typical 'save for web' function removes any color profile info. You can save an ICC profile with the image in 'save for web' but only a few browsers (Safari and optionally in Firefox) will care about it. Most folks view images without color management as sRGB.
This means that you probably need to be working on your images in sRGB. It seems you have a different profile right now.
    >It seems like when we first starting do this several yrs ago we didnt have this problem.
That is because we were not messing with color management then.

  • Why are my colors changing when copy and paste a graphic from docA to docB both in illustrator?

Both documents in Illustrator CC are RGB and I'm trying to copy a logo onto a template, but the color of the logo completely changes when I copy and paste it into the template. The logo has three different pinks and they turn red when pasted. There is no graphic styling and the logo is all gradient.

What is weird is that we get a lot of logos from the same company and we put it on shirt templates so they can see size wise on how it would look on shirts. It's happened with other logos, but very slightly. I asked my co-worker who sends me the logos what version she uses and she also uses CC but does not know what version the other company uses. To them, it doesn't matter if the logo colors get altered, they have the PMS colors to work off of for screen printing. I just want to make sure that if another company sends us logos with PMS colors, we will know how to fix it.

  • Color change when opening in Reader

Hi, I created a PDF in Photoshop. I then added an editable field in Acrobat, using the same RGBs. When I open the file in Reader, the color of the editable field does not match. Any suggestions on what I can do to resolve this?  I have the most recent version of Acrobat and Reader.
    Thanks,
    Jackie

Here is a screen shot of the reader PDF, followed by the original file in Acrobat. You can see that the entire document color changed when I opened it in Reader.
    THanks,
    Jackie

  • Rules applied to multiple cells trigger color changes when any of the cells

"Rules applied to multiple cells trigger color changes when any of the cells meet the rule’s condition." That's what Help says, but when I follow the directions, it doesn't work. This is in Numbers 08.
I have a table where the contents of one column are either "YES" or "NO", depending on formulas using variables from other cells. If YES, I want the fill of that cell and that of two adjacent cells to change from white to green. I select all three cells and use conditional format rules for "text contains:" YES, then choose my fill color. When I return to the table and introduce values for the variables that trigger the rule, only the cell in the YES/NO column changes to green; the other two remain white.
While I am spreadsheet challenged, I usually can follow directions as plain as those in Help, but it's not working. I couldn't find anything in the discussions after an hour of searching. Is this a known problem or am I just stupid?

For what it's worth, that's the way I read that line in the User Guide as well. What it actually appears to mean, though is 'Rules applied to multiple cells apply independently to each of the cells."
Here's a workaround for your three adjacent columns. Long, but fairly simple steps.
Add a second table to the sheet (Table 2).
Resize the second table to one column wide and as many rows as you want to apply the conditional format to.
Set the width of the column to the same width as the three columns you want to highlight, and the row height(s) to match the rows.
Format to table to have NO Header or Footer row or column.
Use the Wrap Inspector to uncheck "Object causes wrap"
In the first top cell of Table 2, enter an = sign, then Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, Click on the first cell that will hold YES or NO.
Fill the formula down the rest of Table 2.
With all cells in Table 2 selected, use the Cell Format inspector to set the 'text contains yes' rule and the conditional fill colour for these cells.
Test the conditional formating by introducing values into Table 1.
Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, then use the Table inspector to set Cell Fill to 'none'.
Click on Table 2 in the sidebar, then drag that table onto table 1 aligning it to cover the cells in which the conditional formating is to appear.
When positioned (and still selected), go to the Arrange menu and Send Backward to move Table 2 behind the (transparent) cells in Table 1.
With Table 2 still selected, click on the Cell Borders color well and set the Opacity of the borders to 0%.
Click the Text inspector and set the Text colour Opacity for Table 2 to 0%.
    Regards,
    Barry

In my experience it usually happens when one of my sub VIs is trying to open
a file and can't find it. (We don't use the NI-488 boards, so for us, the
error is due to a problem opening a file. If you are using GPIB boards, the
problem might be due to a missing GPIB board.)
    Hope this helps.

  • JPEG color shifts occur when viewed in different programs

    Hi All,
I'm having difficulty exporting JPEG documents that display consistently between programs.  Windows image viewer and Microsoft Office shift colors drastically when my exported images are viewed within them.
What's going on here?  I'm exporting as a maximum quality JPEG and have tried a number of color profile settings when saving the documents.  Embedded Color Profile, Convert to sRGB, etc.

If the image has been converted to sRGB and saved with the profile embedded but is displayed inconsistently then I suppose there might be a problem with the screen profile but otherwise the problem would lie with the other applications’ missing or imprudent Color Management (policies).

  • Color changes when saving

I have a PSD file that I've been working on. I've tried saving it as jpeg, png, and tiff, and every time it makes the colors more saturated and more red. I've tried opening it in Windows Photo Viewer, Firefox, and Chrome and the color is changed in all of them. Oddly enough however, if I open the photo on my iphone, in Windows Paint, or in Photoshop again, the colors remain unchanged.
Color Profile is sRGB and I have it set to embed the profile.
The proof setup is Working CMYK. I tried changing it to Monitor RGB and the picture looked the same.
Any help is greatly appreciated because this is driving me insane.

Thanks for the help twenty one and Noel but I think I need to be a little bit more clear on what it is I would like to accomplish. Basically I have a photo that displays two different ways: normal saturation and oversaturated. I would like it to always display at normal saturation, no matter what computer or what program it's being viewed with. Currently the only programs I've found that always display it correctly are Windows Paint and Internet explorer, neither of which are color managed. Is there any way to accomplish this or do I just have to accept the fact that it will always look different depending on what it's being viewed with?
Information I think may be relevant to accomplishing this goal:
The PSD always appears oversaturated in photoshop now whereas it used to look fine. I have no idea what I did to change this but I've tried doing a system restore and resetting my photoshop settings to default and it has had no effect.
Under Color Settings, it shows the RGB working space as sRGB IEC61966-2.1. However the info panel shows the PSD as being untagged RGB. The image mode is RGB color.
I've messed around with assigning new color profiles and nothing works. The only thing that makes photo look normal again is turning on proof and setting it to Monitor RGB.
I tried saving two different jpeg files, one where I checked ICC Profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1 in the save as dialogue box and one where I did not. Upon opening both files in photoshop, the file that had the sRGB box checked shows up as being sRGB in the info panel and the file that did not have the box checked shows up as untagged RGB in the info panel, as one would expect.
Both the untagged RGB and the sRGB show up the way I want them to in Windows Paint and Internet Explorer (normal saturation), neither of which are color managed programs.
Using Firefox (color managed), the untagged RGB shows up correctly and the sRGB file is oversaturated.
Using photoshop and Windows Photo Viewer (color managed), both the tagged and the untagged photos are oversaturated.
It should also be noted that the above results hold true on my computer and a second computer that I tested. However, on two other computers that I tested, both the tagged and the untagged photos appear correctly using Windows Photo Viewer, Paint, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Based off of what I've read about Color Management I find these results very peculiar. Particularly the fact that sRGB and untagged RGB files show up differently on Firefox but the same on Windows Photo Viewer since both programs are color managed. I also find it very odd that after years of using photoshop without any knowledge of color management I've never had a problem with it until now.
Again, I would like the photo to always look the way it does when using Paint or Internet Explorer or when saving it as an untagged RGB and viewing it on Firefox. Thanks again for any help you can provide because this is driving me insane.

  • Why does my font color change when I add an image to InDesign?

Hello, I am doing a page layout in InDesign and I am using a light blue font for my title but when I add an image from Photoshop, the font color turns dark blue. When I open the InDesign file in Adobe Acrobat, my title is still dark blue. It's only when I make a PDF of the file in Acrobat and open it in the Safari browser that the title goes back to its original light blue font. Is there something I can do to fix this? Thank you!

Not a good idea. The flattened PSD has lost all its layers, adjustments, and effects. I hope you don’t need to edit it or change any layer’s visibility. Either that or you now have two files to keep track of and have neutered InDesign’s Edit Original feature. Better to take Peter’s advice and place the text above the image so it is not affected by transparency flattening. If you need the text below because you want the drop shadow to interact with the text, then use Overprint Preview (View menu) or Separations Preview (Window > Output) to get a more accurate view of the text colour.
