Color distortion in iPad Air

I just got the new iPad Air. But when I compare screen colors in my new iPad with the old one (the first iPad) and computer monitor, I can see the color distorton on iPad Air screen: yellow color is too sceaming, with a green nuance, the blue color has a violet/purple nuance; and the gray colors has the same violet tone. Is it some kind of my device’s defect or what? Couldn’ find any information about the possibility of color adjustment.

HI,
Run the Apple Hardware Test to make sure it isn't the graphics card.

    I am able to print from my phone to the printer. But I can't from my iPad air. My iPad see the printer and it seems to connect via wifi but as soon as it picks the wifi up it automatically gos back to my home wifi connection. I'm lost any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hello Johncfd82,
    Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you are connecting to the printer's wireless direct network to print from you phone and that when you try to connect to the wireless direct network with your iPad that the iPad drops the connection and reconnects to your wireless network.
    My recommendation would be to connect the printer to your wireless network instead of using the printer's broadcasted network.  Please follow the steps in Installing the Printer Software on a Wireless or Wired (Ethernet) Network.  If you have already installed the printer for a USB connection the instructions to switch to a wireless connection are included under each of the supported operating systems.  By doing this it will eliminate the need to switch your iPad off your home network and shouldn't affect printing from your phone at all.

  • Color pass app not working on ipad air help?

    how do I access color pass on iPad air IOS 8?

    Try deleting the app and re-downloading it from the app store.

  • What color are the web links on your iPads?  Are the iPad Air's purple?

    Bizarrely, the three iPad Airs I've seen show purplish links rather than blue ones--and that's true of a store demo model, too!
    In contrast, older iPads, iPad minis, and a store's iPad Mini with Retina Display, show web links as a beautiful blue.
    I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who can do side-by-side comparisons of iPad Airs and other iPads & iPhones and report on what the color differences are.
    The differences I've seen are fairly striking on most web pages, subtler on others.  Side-by-side comparisons can often dramatically reveal the differences.

    BUMP!!
    Anyone?
    Side by side comp with your older iPad?   With your Mini?  What does it show?   What colors are the web links?
    Google search results--are they more purple on the Air than the blue on the others?  macsurfer.com is one site people have posted about.  macrumors.com, too.

  • IPad Air color problem - blues look purple

    I just upgraded from an iPad 2 to the iPad Air, and right away noticed that anything that should be blue is clearly and distinctly purple. It's most noticeable in things such as the Facebook app and links in Safari. At first I thought I could live with it or adjust to it, but it's kind of driving me crazy. Compared side by side, the difference in colors is extremely obvious.
    My questions are a) is anyone else having this problem, and b) is it worth taking it back and getting another one to see if the screen is any different, or are all the displays at this point going to have this same basic color temperature?

    So, is this a universal problem or not?!  Mine has the same coloring problem.  In Safari, e.g., on Macsurfer.com, all the blue underlined links are *purple*!!
    Sure enough, when you tap on one--i.e., a visited link--it changes to a deeper purple, showing it's been visited.  But it's incredibly disgracing to go to a site and see all the NEW links in PURPLE!!
    Any fixes other than return?  And , on a return, what's to say that the next one won't have the same problem--or worse, the other displays issues that have been mentioned.
    Incidentally , should the background color of a *white* page in iBooks look *gray*?!  Alas, it does!

  • IPad Air 2 Distortion

    Greetings, fellow Apple People. As you all probably know, the iPad Air 2 has a rather widespread defect which causes the LCD Retina Display to distort and discolorize when any pressure is placed on the right rear of the device. My 128GB iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi edition has been experiencing this problem since I u boxed it several minutes ago, and on my particular unit, it's terrible. Even the slightest tap of a finger on the rear causes severe discoloration on the front display, and there seems to be a permanent faint-blue mark in that spot. Funny thing is, I unboxed the tablet in-store, and immediately reported the problem to an Apple employee. He said "Oh, that looks pretty bad. Let's get you a fresh one." He came out of the back with a new tablet, and he took the liberty of u boxing it and testing it for the issue. It was nowhere near as bad as the one I initially opened, but it still happened. He showed me that it occurred on several of the display models they had out, and happily gave me the new one he opened, where the problem was much less noticeable.
      While I'm pleased with Apple's great service, I still wonder why this problem seems to be universal on all iPad Air 2 units. Can anyone tell me if they've gotten a good model? Thanks, the help is greatly appreciated!

  • IPad Air 1 / iPad Air 2 screen color differences

    Hi
    I have two iPad Air 1's, fairly new, and just got iPad Air 2. When kept side by side (see pictures below: iPad Air 1 on left, Air 2 in middle and another iPad Air 1 on right. See the color differences on screen? How do I know which one is accurate? Why do the screen colors vary for a giant like Apple which is in pursuit of perfection?
    Note that the Air 2 has now been returned: After placing the screen protector, the "superiority" of Air 2 screen was diminished and I found lesser difference between Air 1 and 2 screen, not worth spending the extra $!!!
    See pictures below. Please also visit http://displaymate.com/iPad6_ShootOut.htm that says Air 1 usually has 7,041K vs iPad Air 2 that has 7,355K color temperature of screen, so iPad Air 2 (in center below) should have been more "blue-er" than the Air 1's on either side which does not seem to be the case! I am posting this to ask experts how to determine which is most accurate screen color and how to make sure I get iPad from the "right" batch? Any help/opinions? Thanks so much!

    Hi Churych620, Thanks for writing!
    The iPad Air 2 in middle is definitely more pale than iPad Air 1 on the right-most side of picture, whereas it should be the opposite. It may be possible that the Air 1 on the very right may be erroneously too blue!
    I just wanted to find out how to determine which is the best "white point" or display color temperature and how can I possibly select a good piece? Also I don't understand why Air 1's on wither side have their displays that different color temperatures!
    Thanks!

  • Is anyone having issues with colored lines streaking through image of camera on ipad air?E

    Today when using the camera on ipad air the screen became filled with red green and blue streaking lines. When a photo and video was taken the lines were part of the recorded images. The problem is not evident if the cameras are switched and the camera on top is used. The ipad is only a week old having been given for Christmas. I have tried turning the device off as well as resetting it but no luck.

    Hi Eshylie,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    If you see colored lines on pictures taken with the rear camera, and resetting the device didn't resolve it, I recommend backing up and restoring the iPad Air next:

    I plan to buy a new iPad Air to use for navigation in an airplane. Which color would have the least glare from sunlight entering the cockpit?

    I'm no expert, but I would think Space Gray would be your answer, because it has a black front.  The Silver iPad Air has a white front.

  • HT4623 Since updating to ios 7.0.6 it has caused the sounds on my iPad Air to either be distorted, none at all in headphones or when locking it almost sounds like a whining drill.  What am I meant to do with that got it pretty soon after it was released

    It is completley strange (did the update yesterday evening 5/3), I realise this is likely to be a bug, the iPad Air has no dirt in the headphone or speakers, have checked.  It sounds just like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnL1OjDQcLM
    I don't know however if they experience the same with the headphones, I do find that if I fiddle with the mono settings and left and right balance I could get the headphones to work perfectly again, on off with the sleep button and home button seemed to clear the silly noise on the stereo speakers.  I dont really want to keep messing around with the settings to get it to work, I would assume that the update for the SSL bug fix is the problem as when I applied this update the issue started, I had made NO other changes or install of apps and had only used it for browsing e-mail and music.
    This should not happen and would like to know what Apple intend on doing to resolve this and when??

    Try using Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

    I have this problem too. It's really annoying, especially when I'm viewing movies from iTunes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Ipad 2 color distortion

    Kindly advise on how to fix with my Ipad 2 screen discoloration.

    Hi Xeila0305,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
    It's possible that your iPad may have it's colors inverted.   The information in the User Guide explains how to check this on page 107.
    manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf
    Invert Colors
    Sometimes, inverting the colors on the iPad screen may make it easier to read. When Invert Colors is turned on, the screen looks like a photographic negative.
    Invert the screen’s colors: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Invert Colors.
    If that does not resolve the issue, then try the steps to Restart, Close App, and Restore the iPad in the link below:
    Apple - Support - iPad - iPad Troubleshooting Assistant
    I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • How can I see what I'm actually video recording on iPad Air so that I don't include extra stuff at the borders of the image? It seems to automatically "zoom in" on the screen, but when I export the video, the picture isn't framed well.

    When I try to record a video on the Ipad Air, the screen automatically "zooms in" closer than when I'm taking a photo. So I frame the interview and record it. But when I export it to post it or edit it, I discover that only the screen was zoomed in, the camera wasn't, so I have all this extra stuff around the edges of my frame.
    I don't need to zoom in, but I do need to be able to see what I'm shooting--otherwise, as I'm videotaping, I'm guessing at my picture's framing. But every time I switch from photo to video mode, the screen "zooms in." How can I see what I'm actually recording?
    I've been searching for an answer for this for a while, but I can't find any responses to it! Thanks.

    Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.
    *Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

  • Which iPad should I purchase? Ipad air 1 or 2?

    Hey guys! I'm wanting to purchase a iPad for school next year (uni), and am debating over which iPad Air version to purchase. I'd like an iPad mainly to do my school work (type notes, look at pdfs, highlight textbook pages, etc), as well as browse the internet, use apps (like facebook, twitter, youtube, email etc) and watch movies. I originally was going to purchase the air 2, but after browsing a few forums, I noticed quite a few people complaining about it (vibration issues, screen distortion, battery, etc). Considering the price, I'm now a bit hesitant in purchasing it.
    Which I guess leads me to the iPad air 1. From what I understand, it seems to do the same job as the iPad air 2, but just without those issues (and for a cheaper price!)? I noticed that a few people were talking about safari reloading, but I don't use more than 2-3 tabs at a time generally, so I would assume that wouldn't be an issue? My only problem is that I'm worried it might be too slow compared to the iPad air 2's chip and ram, and is already too 'outdated'.
    I'm really hoping whatever iPad I purchase will last me at least a good 2-3 years (I know that might be asking too much!) and will be of good quality; I know products are always bound to have flaws, etc, but I'm hoping to pick the one of with the least amount, and something that will last me.
    I guess my question is what everyone else's experiences have been with their air 2 so far? Do you like it, prefer it over the air 1, prefer the build quality, don't like it, waste of money, etc.
    I've never owned an iPad, but currently have a nexus 7 tablet that I'm hoping to replace. I found the nexus too small when writing notes and didn't really like using keyboard folios with it; which is why I don't really want to purchase any iPad Minis.
    Any help is appreciated!
    edit- I apologise if this is in the wrong place!

    The biggest issue between the 1 and 2 is that all devices eventually age out of software updates. For example the iPad 1 maxed out at iOS 5.1.1, only the Touch 5 was eligible for iOS8 and I think only iPhones 4+ could get iOS8. So eventually, if you get a 1 you may face maxing out of the iOS updates before the two.
    That said, even if your device maxes out it'll still run just fine as it is. You may just face issues with future apps....so say my iPad maxes out in December. In February a really cool game comes out and I want it... but wait, it's for the newer iOS and won't install on mine. If you're aware of the issue and accept the issue, there's no reason you can have a fully functioning older device.
    And if the 1 is more stable than the 2, even better. I've been very lucky with my iPad 2 to have it be a very stable and dependable model while later models do seem to have had issues.

    I recently discovered that I can no longer access websites pointed to within the content of an email message on my iPad Air by clicking on the highlighted HTML text or symbols. What have I done to create, and what should I now do to correct, this issue?

    Or you could include a width to your body style:
    body {
    background-image: url(Logo/sky1.jpg);
    background-position: center center;
    background-attachment: fixed;
    width: 75%;}
    It might work or not depending on your other color scheme.
