Color Error Distortion In Video After Render

Hey fellow Adobe'ers,
I have somewhat of a condundrum that I hope you will be able to fix.
After rendering a set of imported After Effects files in Premiere Pro, the video starts randomly popping up SMPTE color bar layers. Any idea on how to get rid of these? Thank you for your answers.

I see several possible issues, though they might not play into what you are experiencing:
I have 6 GB free
That means that your HDD is nearly at capacity. At about 70% of capacity, the performance will decline, and more so, as capacity is neared, often leading to total failure. I would first clean up your C:\, and give much more "breathing room," to the OS and to the programs.
WD My Passport 070A USB HD 720 GB (All video files are on this drive) I have 60+ GB free
USB externals have proved problematic for many, when they attempt to edit to/from. This ARTICLE goes into more detail.
Video card is a generic Intel "HD Graphics" integrated card
The Intel embedded chips are good, BUT the total lack of driver support renders them nearly useless when either image, or video editing is done. Not sure if your computer mfgr. has a better, newer driver on their Web site, but I would look for one. Do not trust your OS, or any utility, to tell you if your video driver is up to date, as it will likely be at least 6 mos. wrong.
Like I said, not sure that any of these are the exact culprit, but they can contribute to problems, and are worth noting.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Premiere Elements 9 Shakey Video After Render!?

    Hi
I am using Premiere Elements 9 to create my videos.
For some reason when I render my videos out the material is shaky?
I've been rendering my videos to play on windows media and the format is HD720p 30
The camera I am using is a Panasonic HDC-SD200 Full HD 1920x1080 (I've been downloading the material from the SD to the computer and then uploading it to Prem that way)
    Any help would be great!
    Cheers!!

When you started your Premiere Elements project, which project settings did you select? (You can check -- but not change it -- underr Edit/Project Settings.)
Your camcorder shoots in a variety of formats. However, assuming you shot in HA or HG format, you should have selected the project settings for Full AVCHD 1920x1080. (Your camcorder also has options to shoot in stereo or 5.1 audio, and you must select the correct setting for it also.)
If you've selected any other project setting that would explain the stuttering you're seeing. It's an frame rater interlacing conflict. Try setting up a project as I recommend and put some test footage in it. If you then output test footge as a WMV, it should look terrific.
Note that great improvements in working with AVCHD have been made in more recent versions of Premiere Elements. Version 11, for instance, automatically sets up your project to match your video, so you would not have had this issue.

  • Greenish tinge, added after render..

I have a problem with a greenish color shift that takes place after render in color 1.0.1
my material was actuall digitized on a G5 with blackmagic decklink,
then media manag'ed' to apple uncompressed 8 bit 422 on an external drive
then copied to my mac pro, where I have an 8core 3.0, 4Gb, ATI X1900. and AJA Kona LHe with latest drivers...
    what is going on?
why is the image different before and after render?
I work in PAL, and the material imported into color was Apple Uncompressed 422 8bit codec... and rendered out as the same 422 8bit uncompressed...
unfortunately I do not have a digibeta deck to capture material directly so I have to rely on capturing at another facility...
    regards to all,
    Elias.

Many many years ago I faced this problem when translating RGB/YUV back and forth in 8-bit files.
Try to use 10-bit files instead and make shure to render in color (internal pixel) using 10-bit at least.
    Hope it helps.

  • FCP X viewer window plays back video with color errors

I am new to Final Cut X and Final Cut PRo in general. I am doing a project at work where I needed to learn FCPX.
I figured out a lot pretty fast. But one issue i am having is that all of the clips being played back in the viewer window are being played back with this weird color error. Its happens to movie clips, still photos and titles. See below, This is a screenshot of what it looks like. When I first installed FCP it wasn't doing this but now it started doing it all the time. Its annoying because I can't see the transitions properly, and sometimes video gets out of sync with audio.
I am running Lion 10.7.1 with a Mac Pro 2 x 2.8ghx Quad Core Xeon. 16GB RAM. Nothing special on the HD's but they are at 7200rpm.
I tried adjusting prefs for playback quality, I tried transcoding media. However, its doing this to a still frame jpeg as well, which should be giving the machine ay trouble. I feel like my machine should be able to keep up with FCPX.
EDIT: I also restarted my machine a bunch of times and killed all processes that weren't necessary for the machine to run and for FCP to be working. I also have an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT graphics card, which meets the requirements for FCP X.

I am also seeing the same issue. I have an Eizo Display and if I color correct with the i1 it behaves as above. It has been driving me crazy. If I switch back to standard profile it seems to work but my dislplay is not color calibrated. Is there a fix?

  • Color not accurate after render...

I'm not sure if i have some settings that are wrong or my color grades are 'bad' but after I do my color grading and then render it back to FCP, or just watch it as a QT movie, the color of the clips are not the same as what is shown on the scope.
Its never a huge difference, with the project I am working on now the clips seem to always come out redder... and slightly darker/contrasty. There are other differences with other clips too.
Exporting as Apple ProRes 244 HQ
IPF: 8-bit (Not to sure what this is thought)
If anyone can inform me if this is normal or just some advice on the matter please
    E

I expect you are doing your color work on the same monitor as your editing display, so you're wondering how the same clip can look different when played back in different applications. COLOR does not obey Quicktime ColorSync settings (with onboard GPUs) and is set up to deliver media appropriate for broadcast or digital cinema.
Depending on your various OS settings (Snow Leopard is the only OS to standardize a gamma 2.2 Rec709-like space across its platform), once you exit COLOR, your Quicktime movies will be once again subject to whatever "calibration" tweaks OSX has decided it needs to apply for display on your monitor, whatever it might be. There are also oddities in re-scaling and re-mapping between different Quicktime codecs that is a source of confusion among applications.
Not knowing any other details, its not possible to make any more than a general statment.

  • Premiere Pro CC video playback gone after render

    Hi all,
I'm having a playback issue. Premiere CC is running smoothly at first, but the moment I render effects I lose video playback. I can still hear audio, but no video. I only regain video after Force Quitting. Thoughts?

Have you set the previews to be sent to a slow or full disc?

  • Big color discrepancy when rendering video

I'm editing video on a Mac using PS CC.  My Multisync PA242 monitor is calibrated.  When I open the .MOV files for editing I select sRGB for color managing.  I'm rendering out to a H.264  MP4 file and I've checked "color manage" in the export video dialogue.  My rendered video is hugely undersaturated.  My only "work around" is to OVER saturated before performing the export render.  After much research, I can find no advice addressing this issue.

I am afraid this is not going to be a big help but you are not alone.  I have just started shooting video after years of still photography.  I have a full understanding of colour management and my still workflow is consistent from end to end.  My impression of video is that most video editing applications do not colour manage at all.  The professionals use expensive suites to edit in which separate calibrated monitors (to something called REC709 which is close to sRGB) are used to display the output but the User Interface display where all the work is done is not colour managed.  This is probably all right if you do all your work on an sRGB monitor but if you have a calibrated wide gamut monitor like many stills photographers then you are in trouble. I was under the impression that the Video module in Photoshop CC (and CS6) is properly colour managed as we understand it and should assume sRGB for untagged video clips but I could be wrong.
The other big problem is that video "colourists" speak a different language from still photographers.

  • Recorded Videos after Sync: The requested URL was not found on this server.

A few days ago, i recorded a couple of videos. They were saved properly and i could watch them after it in the Camera Roll of my iPhone. Because my memory was almost full, i connected my iPhone to my MacBook and synchronized about 900 old pictures with iPhoto and selected to delete the pictures after the sync. I did not select the recently recorded videos.
After the sync, i opened the Camera Roll on my iPhone and tried to watch the videos again. But now, they all have a grey icon and it says the duration is 0:00 minutes. When i click on a video, it shows me the following error message:
The requested URL was not found on this server.
When i connect my iPhone to iTunes, it says that there is about 350 MB of "Documents and Data" on my phone that I have no idea where it is coming from. Do you think it is possible that the videos are still saved on my phone but my phone doesn't recognize it as videos and can't assign it to the icons in the Camera Roll? Do you have any tips how I can access the videos in case they are still saved somewhere on my iPhone?
Thank you very much in advance for your help and tips!

I have the same problem too!! I was deleting some photos and videos in my phone when the next picture I swiped to was a blank picture with JPG in the middle~ after I closed camera roll and reopened it my photos and videos after that picture are all gone~ and I'm left with 3 videos I took about 30 mins before with 0:00 and when I tried to play them the message popped up saying "requested URL cannot be found on this server" T^T does anyone have a solution to this problem?

  • File size extremely high for .avi after render PE 9

I'm very new to PE and have tried to learn quick to redact info (faces etc) in .avi files for a government agency. I was able to open the file (in the trial version) and make the track matte by dragging the original file to the timeline then dragging it again to the video 2 timeline for the top layer, Question 1) is this the same as copy and paste or am I doubling the size already? Anyway, I was able to get the matte and everything done. Now, to Render and save... I choose computer/avi again (I need to keep it the same) and it took 1 hr 45 min to render it, that seemed long to me but maybe not... but mainly the file size was then 100,883 kb! Starting with a 29.7 kb file. This is what my question is about....could this be right? I can't use it if this is what I get. So, here are the particulars as I got G-spot and looked it up, as per serveral suggestions I saw here. I'm trying to understand the CODEC info but I fear I have a ways to go before I can figure out what I did wrong. (This is my test computer, the future work would be done on a newer, better computer).  The videos I would be working with come from various sources and will vary in length but will probably all be a kind of avi.
    Intel Pentium processor 1600 mhz
    221 mhz, 2.00 gb ram
    Microsoft windows xp sp3
    video:
    length: 0:27.261
    frms:  817
    Kbps: 28770
    pic:  720x480
    codec: dvsd dvc/dy
I appreciate any help you can give

Thanks for you response and the information was very helpful. I was able to choose and output that gave me a good file size and I do want DV-AVI (I don't remember what I chose but it worked) but, I don't see an option for DV-AVI - is that a general DV output selection, because there seem to be numerous (AVCHD, NTSC, DV STANDARD) acronyms (I have tried to understand what each is) which do I want?

For the use of Track Matte Keying, with say a Gaussian Blur, or maybe Moasic Effect, if you have not altered the In & Out Points, then just dragging the Asset to both Video 1 and Video 2 will work fine. If you HAVE adjusted the In & Out Points, you can just click-drag from the Source Monitor, where you set those In & Out Points, and all is good. The Copy/Paste is just another way to do it.
As you are doing an "overlay," the output File Size will not be affected in any way. You are also limiting the Blur, or Effect on Video 2 to just the area "exposed" by the Track Matte, so the pixel count will not be altered.
As Steve points out, the output CODEC in the AVI will determine the output File Size. File Size is basically determined by the Timeline's Duration and by the Bit-Rate of the output file. With DV-AVI, that Bit-Rate is pretty well set, and your Timeline determines the Duration. At ~ 13GB/hour, a DV-AVI will be pretty large, but that is the nature of the beast. Also, and as Steve points out, if you are going to do additional editing, and will be Importing that file into a New Project, DV-AVI is about as good, as it gets.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Images that zoom and move jitter after render.

I have a bunch of pictures that I put to music. Some move across the screen or zoom slowly. The images move smoothly until I render them, then it's like the images are on some bumpy path or something. They jitter or bump as they move.
I have de-interlaced the images, have changed the image formats, added max flicker filter, ensured that my render settings were at 100%, have redone the motion, have doubled the resolution of the image file (just in case the pixels were conflicting or having trouble at that resolution), and have adjusted settings in the individual item's properties.
My project was supposed to be delivered to the customer yesterday, but there's no way I'm going to deliver a jittery video. The problem is also equally noticeable on the DVD I produced . I have never had this problem in the past. Like I say, when the render bar is green, everything is smooth. After render, bumpy motion. All the motion (for the most part) is perfectly horizontal or vertical.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had the exact same problem and was able to overcome it using a hack... this seems to be a bug in FCE.
I fixed it by rotating all my original images 90 degrees, replacing them in the timeline, rotating them back, then applying the zoom effects. They look perfect now. (Strange but true.)
Anyone with a better solution to this issue?

  • My iDvd will not burn a disc...there is an encoding error that comes up after the title screen

Like it says in the title...My iDvd will not burn a disc...there is an encoding error that comes up after the title screen.
Here is the process that I have been doing.
    1. put in a blank disk and with the project already being done, i hit burn (not too hard).
    2. iDvd then starts to encode the title.
    3. After the title has been encoded, the burning stops and a message comes up saying "there was an error during encoding" and when ever I try to burn the same message keeps on coming up.
    I am running version 7.0.4
any help would be extremely helpful

    Try using this workflow:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
Then you can concentrate on the content if you can't create a disk image of the project.

  • How do I keep FCP from auto-distorting my video when I drag it into the timeline?

FCP keeps auto distorting my video when I drag it into the timeline. It keeps setting the motion aspect ratio to -12.5, then when I set it to 0 and render, the video has lost significant quality even though I have my motion render settings to: best. I figure it is this motion distort which is ruining my quality on render because the avi from the camera is ridiculously clean and un-pixelated. How do I keep FCP from auto-distorting my video? It makes no sense that it does, because at -12.5 aspect ratio, FCP is creating a letterbox for my video. I just want the video to fill the entire canvas that I chose! There must be a setting somewhere that I have missed, but I cannot figure it out for the life of me. Please help!
I have a video shot on my Pentax K-r that is 1280x 720p 25fps. When run it in quicktime pro, the inspector affirms this sizing. And in QTpro there is no letterbox present when the original is played.
In FCP I have the sequence settings at:
    HDTV 720p (16:9) (which is 1280 720)
    Timebase: 25
I have tried to turn anamorphic on, then off in the clip format settings, and also turn the anamorphic on and off in the sequence settings. No combination seems to correct the problem.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you,
    ML

Hi I have done some more digging and found this:
    1) In the bottom left corner of FCPX, click the film reel so that you can see all your projects:
    2) Select the project you are having problems with and then in the inspector window, click on the spanner icon in the lower right side:
    3) Finally a window appears so that you can choose the settings for the video you are using:
    Hope that helps

  • General Error message when rendering after opening FCP4 project in FCP5

    Hi,
we're are having trouble with our FCP 4.5 project after opeining it in FCP5. When trying to render it comes up with "General Error" message and won't render the sequence. It also sometimes simply stops rendering without the message. Can anyone help? thanks

Update the version of FCP you're attempting to use as far as it will go for starters. There's no bug I know of that would cause this, so it's more likely an edgy media file getting in the way.
Try rendering just a section at a time and see if you can narrow down the files that may be causing your error.
