Color goes crazy and sometimes locks up

I am working on a 1 hour documentary. When I export my timeline to Color and then apply anything in the color FX tab I get blotchy pixelated yuckiness and several times the machine has locked up. Here is what it looks like:

Here is what I am running:
FCS 2
Mac Pro 12 GB ram
2x 2.66 GB Quad
Radeon 4870
OS X 10.5.8 Leopard
Here is what I have tried:
-Breaking the timeline into smaller chunks and sending to Color.
-I had a matrox MXO installed so I disconnected it and removed the drivers.
-I reinstalled FCS (ugh).
The problem persists. This seems like a gfx issue but I can't solve it.
Help.

Problem found and solved. I had Jpegs on my timeline. Most of them were fine and didn't bother Color. But there were 4 black and white compressed Jpegs that i guess color didn't like. So FYI check the compression type of your material if you get it from someone else .

Your System Details are showing Fun Web Products. Suggest you look in Add-ons - Extensions and Plug-ins, and Control Panel>Add/Remove programs or >(newer version) Programs and Features. You could also do a search of your computer.
Fun Web Products(associated with MyWebSearch) always seems to cause problems, Alexa does, too, but less often - there may be conflicts.
I'm not an expert on these two products. I'm afraid I can only alert you to the problems. Google will show you plenty of evidence of problems. You might also try the Search Firefox Help box above - a gold mine but it usually requires a lot of digging.
You can start Firefox in Safe Mode - Hold Shift Key down as you double click on the Firefox icon>ignore the page that opens>Continue. If that improves things you could do a little troubleshooting(Safe Mode, Problematic extensions etc), use default theme, -

Google Maps going crazy and allignment problem

Help - I have got a site - www.elitepolefitness.co.uk which I have uploaded with Fetch (I have my own hosting) the embedded Google map is going crazy and the address is dark grey and left alligned instead of light grey and centered. When I upload the files to Fetch and preview site through there, its perfect. Please help!

Problem solved - I moved the files to different place - onto my Mac HD rather than my external HD. This is a massive pain though, I don't want to store all my websites on my Mac HD. Please try and fix this problem soon.
Could you advise on the next update/new features?

I took it to the Genius Bar, and they identified it as a hardware issue. Just got it back today. Parts replaced were:
620-5629 Display Module — Symptom: Distored/blurred/focus video issue
605-3284 Top Case with Keyboard — Symptom: specific key(s) do not work
So far so good. I'd suggest taking it in and not trying to work around it — it's a rare hardware issue (given the number of threads about it) and should be replaced.

Screen goes off and keyboard locks up on Equium

My laptop screen suddenly goes black but I can hear it still working and sometimes the backlight stays on but the keyboard totally locks up.
I have to reboot every time. On reboot it says that windows was not shut down properly.
Wondered if maybe anyone else was having the same problem or could offer any advice?

Sorry but which model do you have exactly? Would be interesting since without knowing which machine you have makes it a lot harder to guess where the problem is. Another good hint for everyone out there would be to tell which operating system is installed, which applications are on your machine and so on..
Please give some better description of your whole situation, maybe we can find some solution for it...

Scroll bar goes crazy and active window jumps around in size - Help

I've got iTunes 7.0.5 installed. If I use iTunes for any length of time, my system goes crazy. The scroll bar on whatever program I make active goes up and down like mad, while the content of the active window shrinks and magnifies in size multiple times a second. It's very bizarre and consistently happens only when I run iTunes for some length of time. I have no problem if I choose Windows Media Player. It's very disturbing, as I can no longer use iTunes. Any help in knowing how to fix the problem, or even to trouble shoot it further, would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple of thoughts on the Timeline scrolling and other possible display issues:
1.) make sure that you have the very latest video driver - the very latest
2,) if you have Vista, turn Aero and Sidebar off
3.) if you have Window Blinds, get the very latest version
4.) if you have an InteliPoint mouse driver, try removing it, and using the standard Windows mouse driver instead*
5.) if you have a laptop and both the touch-pad and a mouse are installed and ON, turn the touch-pad OFF
These are some suggestions that might affect your display issues.

* The MS InteliPoint has caused many display issues with Adobe products. Most often, these have manifested themselves in flashing GUI's and similar, but other odd behaviors have been experienced. If the removal of InteliPoint does help, try the very latest version, but be ready to revert to the standard Windows mouse driver.

My typing cursor frequently goes crazy, not allowing me to type and jumping from place to place, deleting letters. Suddenly, a line I have typed will be highlighted and deleted at will. Also, mouse cursor moves at will, opening multiple pages in seconds. Help! What could be causing this, and how can I stop it?
I've had my Macbook pro for over a year and it has never done this before. Restarting the computer fixes the problem temporarily.

My first thought was the hard drive and OS has a built in Sudden Motion Sensor whcih will stop the hard drive heads from crashing into the platters when the computer is moved suddenly. This does work most of the time and could cause some of the tings you are seeing.
But then after reading more of your first post it seems your system and drive is doing some very strange things.
It would be best to first take it into an Apple Genius Bar and have it looked at. They can run tests on it and since it is still in the original 1 year warranty this should not cost you anything even if something needs to be replaced.
You can also run the Apple Hardware Test on it your self by connecting it to the Net by Ethernet cable and booting holding down the d key or the Command+d keys. That will boot the computer from the Apple internet servers and load the AHT.

My iPad, 3rd, starts to flicker and then the screen goes grey and then locks up. I had the unit to repair last week and its doing it again.

The screen flickers and in a couple of minutes goes grey. Sometimes I can see the background icons. I had the unit to service and was told nothing was wrong. Once the screen starts to go grey, the unit does not respond. The software is up to date and the unit is charged.

Apparently you DO have a hardware problem, but you'll need to be able to show the repair technician the screen while it is acting up if he is to diagnose and repair it.

Every once in a while (maybe every other day) my screen with just out of nowhere freak out, get cut in half, weird lines through everything, and completely freeze...out of the blue.
I have a cincema display and this used to happen sometimes when it was plugged in, but it happened today when the macbook pro wasn't plugged into anything. It also did a weird shutdown/sleep thing randomly today too.
Any ideas? Nothing else happens. I have to hold down the power button and reset the computer.
It doesn't appear there are any other issues.

That is a clear symptom of a damaged graphics chip. If your Macbook is still under warranty, now would be the time to bring it in to the Apple store and have them look at it.

Display goes blank and computer locks up

I have the P205D-S7802. When we close the lid, a password is required when it's opened. It usually comes right awake for us, but after it's been awake for awhile, the screen will go blank and the computer will lock up. We have to power it down the hard way and power it back on. It's usually okay until the lid gets closed and opened the next time...
I've also tried to set a screen saver several times, but it never seems to take effect.
Help.

I have a model P205D-S7438 that will randomly go blank and none of the buttons will work. (Num. lock, caps lock, etc) This lap top is less than a year old. It has been doing this since I've had it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

1.8 Power PC G5 Fan goes crazy and stays that way!

So this has been happening for about 2 weeks now. I've tried the suggested "Pull the power cord out and let the SMU restart" thing and that has no effect on it. I would rather not take it in to an Apple Store. Any suggestions? It will usually start up just fine and then give the occasional rev about 10 minutes after boot, then 15 minutes after boot its going all out loud fan noise. If I let it go, it will die down again...but then stop. My temperatures are fine.
