Color labels do not update

I have a bunch of labled "yellow" photos. I go to where they are sorted. Then I start labeling some of them "green". The text message says they have been updated and the metadata for the picture shows it is green. But the count for the number of green photos remains 0 and if I go to the "green" sections there are no photos there.

Try a couple of things:
Click on Grid view icon.
In the folders panel, select the folder where your "Yellow" and "Green" labelled photos are.
At top right of filmstrip, turn off filters.
In the Find panel (at left of window) Check Text, and choose Metadata from drop-down list, select
"Contains Any" from Rule drop-down list. Type Yellow,Green in the search box, make sure you separate the words
using comma. The grid should now show your "Yellow" and "Green" flagged photos.
Try the similar search with Metadata browser:
Expand the Label section. Select Green, Yellow in turn. Select both Green and Yellow (shift-click to select
both). Keep an eye on the text at top left of Filmstrip: It will read as follows:
"Metadata/Label/Green or Yellow/xxx photos/1 selected/filename of selected photo"
With "Green" or "Yellow" selected in Metadata Browser/Label, turn on the filters. The filter will filter the photos
already chosen in the Metadata panel. So, for example, if you have "Green" selected in Metadata/Label, clicking
"Yellow" filter, will show "No photos match the filter".
Hope this helps you to figure what your problem may be.

  • Labview graph scale labels do not update

I am using XScale.NameLbl.Text and YScale.NameLbl.Text graph properties to programmatically change the labels on the X & Y axis. It seems to work when I run the subVI containing the graph, but when the subVI is placed in an application, they do not update based on the plot data that is selected to be plotted.
    Attachments:
    WC3000_Histogram_Plots.vi ‏96 KB

I think I understand your question. Your subvi has the waveform wired as an output. In the main vi that calls the subvi, you wire the output to a graph - correct? So you're looking for the graph properties in the subvi to be transfered to the main vi graph - correct?
If this is correct - it doesn't work that way. The waveform is just a cluster of t0, deltat, and the y array of data. None of the graphs properties are passed out of the subvi.
There are many ways to do what you're trying to do. You could wire the returned strings that you use for x and y labels as outputs of the subvi, then update the property node of the main vi graph. You could also pass a reference to the main vi graph to the subvi and make the x and y label changes to the main vi graph in
the subvi. I think the first option is probably easier.

  • Trouble with color labels not synching between different machines sharing same data drive

    Hi
I am having a problem that seems to have come up when I started using a mix of PS/Bridge CS4 and CS3, in which color labels I apply in Bridge--primarily to folders--do not retain the color label when I look at the same set of folders on the same external hard drive using multiple, different Macintosh machines, running a mix of CS3 and CS4.  The color labels will appear on one machine and then not appear at all on another.  Note: they don't appear as white labels without a color.  It's as if they were never labeled at all!
I use multiple Macs to connect to one primary external data drive.  I consistently configure Bridge to export caches to the external drive, and with CS3 any color labels I applied to folders were consistently displayed in the same way on multiple machines.
Every since I upgraded a couple of my Macs to CS4, I now notice that color labels applied on one machine aren't showing up when I attach my external drive to other machines. I've even noticed a problem connecting to the external drive from two different user profiles on the same Mac laptop (running CS4).
I have tried resetting the preferences and the cache on all of these machines.  I also then re-toggled the export caches checkboxes on all these machines.  Per some earlier troubleshooting, I have also made sure that the naming convention for the labels is the same on all the machines: "Approved" versus "Green," etc.
There just seems to be no rhyme or reason for why the color labels are not synching.
    HELP!?
    Thanks in advance.

I have no clue at all, labels should stay visible after having applied them
to a file and used purge cache. And they do so on my system.
Normally there will not be many reasons to use the purge cache option unless
you have trouble, every time you alter a file it should be auto update the
preview and thumb, is this not in your workflow?
Are you still working with same files that were also present on your other
    system and using CS3?
Have you considered to start from scratch?
Quit Bridge, from the user library preference folder delete the plist file
for Bridge to the trash and in the same library from the caches folder /
Adobe/BridgeCS4 move the cache file outside the user library if you want to
backup this file (or to the trash if you don't want it anymore)
Both files will replace itself with fresh ones but the cache needs to start
    all over again building previews.
Again hold option when starting Bridge first time and again choose refresh
    preferences.
Set the preferences for Bridge to your wishes and try again.
However, if I go to "Tools-Cache-Purge Cache For Folder" and purge the cache
for the folder I'm working in, the color labels disappear.  Is this expected
behavior?  Shouldn't the color labels be recreated?? Again, I have repeatedly
purge the cache in this way, have reset Bridge CS4 settings, and have
re-selected the option to "Export Caches To Folders When Possible."  What's
    going on!?!?!?  Thanks.

  • I can select a rating and a color label for my images, but I can not sort by rating and color label.

I can select a rating and a color label for my images, but I can not sort by rating and color label. when I click on the filter drop down, color label is not one of the options.  how do I get both ratings and color lables as an option to sort with.

You can Filter (not sort) on both color label and rating if you want, open the Filter Bar with the backslash key, then click on Attribute, and then select the stars and color label of interest. If you really meant "sort" and not filter, then you can't do this in Lightroom.

  • Missing color labels after migrating to new machine

    Hi everybody,
I migrated my Lightroom 1.3 yesterday from my old XP notebook to my new Vista notebook by copying my photo folder (including the Lightroom catalog) and installing the same Lightroom version on the new computer. The only difference is that the photo folder is now at c: while before it was at d:.
When opening Lightroom and the catalog on the new computer on the first glance everything looked fine but then I noticed that all the color labels were gone. Other kind of picture-specific modifications (e. g. development settings) are still there, only the color labels are not (I don't use any other labels, so I am not sure if they would have been affected as well).
Does anybody have a clue where the labels have gone and how I can get them back? :-)
    Thanks and regards, Robert

    Hi Jim,
Thanks for the tip, it seems that an inconsistency here was the problem.
On my old machine I previously used LR in German but when updating to 1.3 I got the English version. So it seems that during upgrading the color labels have stayed in German but when I then installed the English 1.3 on my new notebook it of course installed the labels in English. After changing the names to German I can see the labels again.

  • Newbie Question re stacks, import options, & color labels

I probably shouldn't just group together multi-topic questions, but creating a new topic for each one seemed wasteful. I'm just starting to migrate to Lightroom from PSE, so I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers to.
    1. Can I change the color of the color labels? For example I find that the blue color label does not stand out very well with the gray background, so I'd like to make it a deeper blue.
    2. Is there an import option (when importing from removable device) to delete the photos (automatically) after copied to disk and imported?
(yes, I know I can manually do it, I'm just lazy)
    3. Is there a way to run the auto stack feature without losing already grouped/stacked photos. For example if I have photos A, B, and C and A and B are already grouped, then I run the auto stack with a time setting such that B would pick up C, I want it to add C to A and B, not create a new group with just B and C. AND/OR is there a way to run the auto stack on just the photos I have selected? I did a lot of testing and it seems like I can run it on an entire folder of photos or my entire catalog, but not just, say 20 selected photos.
    4. Is there any option that I can turn on that will automatically put the virtual copy on top of the stack when I create one? (again I'm just being lazy)
Finally, sort of a general usage/workflow question .. I've done a bit of reading on virtual copies and snapshots and I still can't decide when one is better than the other ... they seem to basically have the same function - to create non-destructive copies of an original photo that can than later be exported or used. Any thoughts on how people are using them or when one is better than the other?
    Thanks! Kelly

Thank you both for the answers/advice.
One more quickie, I was wondering if anyone knew how Lightroom 2 was going to be sold, ie for owners of 1.4 will it be a paid upgrade or free? I ask because I am still in the trial version of lightroom (was doing some testing to see if i wanted to stay in PSE or move to lightroom), and I have decided that I would like to move to lightroom, but there are some features in version2 that I already know I will want, so I'm debating about waiting for that release (to save money), unless it would be a free upgrade for owners of 1.4.
John - why is it better to copy from the card reader to disk then import into lightroom? Just curious as I have been doing quite a bit of research in last couple of days and it seems that a lot of people use that type of workflow (first copying to one folder on hdd, then importing, and then maybe moving later on). In PSE I used to always just use the Adobe interface to copy then import in "one step" (I say one step, but it was obvious that adobe first copied the images then imported them). Anyway I'll probably do as you suggest but just like to get into knowing exactly why I'm doing it a certain way.
Andrew - good to hear, that is actually what I had started doing, so it's good to know that it's a "proven" workflow.
    Thanks!

  • Category labels fail to update in column and bar charts

I originally posted this comment in another thread (Re: Category labels fail to update). I thought I should repost it, as the issue still exists after installing SP1 Fix Pack 2 (version 5.1.2.0), and it wasn't clear from the previous thread that the problem had been logged.
If you have a bar chart or stacked bar chart, the category labels do not update with the underlying data when you have the "Horizonal (Value) Axis Labels" box unchecked. Same effect with a column chart if the "Vertical (Value) Axis Labels" box is unchecked.
I'm getting around the problem in the meantime by keeping the box checked but changing the font size to zero, which reduces the labels to small dashes, and then using a font colour that matches the background as much as possible.
... by the way, another issue I see in this same area is that although there are separate checkboxes in charts for choosing whether to display titles and subtitles,  it is not possible to select just titles - both checkboxes appear to be locked together.
    - Peter

    Hi Tammy,
I didn't regard #2 as bug - in fact I thought it was helpful to be able to set the size to zero as a workaround to the problem outlined in #1.
Regarding #3, if this is by design, then I'd suggest that it's a poor design choice to have checkboxes next to both titles and subtitles, since this implies that they should be able to be separately controlled.
Something else I've noticed with this formatting area is that the position and offset controls are disabled, and there doesn't appear to be any way to use them.  It would be very helpful to be able to use these to move the position of chart titles.  In a dashboard I'm currently building, we have a large stack of charts sized very small, to attempt to resemble the 'sparkline' concept.  But the chart titles are so high, it's not clear which chart they refer to (they look like they might refer to the chart above it).   As a result, I've had to remove the chart titles and place independent labels over top of each chart to be able to position them closer to the chart's display area.

  • Color labels problem, in french version

    In english :
    Hello
I was testing with the beta and lightroom beta 2 version 3. Satisfied, I bought french version 3 today. Unfortunately I have a small problem:
color labels have not been recognized during the transition to the french commercial version 3. The reason seems to be related to a translation problem. Example: color purple ("pourpre" in french) appears not with the same color, but with the text, instead of the icon, "purpule". Same for the other colors.
How to get my color labels?
    Thank you.
    In french :
    Bonjour,
    Merci.

    Snoopy,
I think your assumption is correct, your problem is due to the different wordings in the labels (I presume you were running LR3 Beta2 in English).
LR did wirte the word "Purple" into the label column of your catalog, when you marked an image as purple. Now, with the french wording, LR interprets the word "Pourpre" in the label column as purple, and nothing else. You can see these associations in the Library Module, Metadata menu / Color label set / Edit.
To solve your problem, I would do the following for each of the color labels:
Activate the Metadata Filter, with the column "label" showing
filter on a specific label term (e.g. "Purple")
    Select all filtered photos
    Mark them as "Pourpre"
This will reassign the current (French) terms to your photos.

  • Color themes won't update in Illustrator

    Hi,
I've had this issue for a month now, had very poor help from adobe's twitter and the specific adobe color forum. My color themes will not update in illustrator, if I click refresh I just get the message 'can't connect to the adobe color website, you may be offline or the server may be busy'.
I've tried everything, full CC reinstall, illustrator reinstall, signed in and out a million and one times, deleted preferences. Nothing will fix this one specific issue. Can someone please help me out as it's driving me insane.

    Mark,
Tehere may be a number of things disturbing and confusing Illy. You may have a look at the list. Maybe Item 7) or something else under 5) can be relevant.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Category labels fail to update

    Hi,
I have two charts which which are updated via a web service they are set to update using a cell value trigger, a combo box is attached to the cell and when the value changes the data is refreshed, both charts update but the category labels on the second chart fails to update although the bar chart is refreshed and the legends show the new values that should be seen in the category labels. Why are the new values not reflected in the labels? If I point a single value control at the same data the value is updated!
    Regards,
    joe

    I'm observing a similar issue (version 5.1.1.0, build 12.1.1.344).
If you have a bar chart or stacked bar chart, the category labels do not update with the underlying data when you have the "Horizonal (Value) Axis Labels"  box unchecked.  Same effect with a column chart if the "Vertical (Value) Axis Labels" box is unchecked.
I'm getting around the problem in the meantime by keeping the box checked but changing the font size to zero, which reduces the labels to small dashes.

  • Importing color labels

Okay, I'm new to Lightroom so be gentle.  The problem I have is I have about a dozen folders on an external hard drive with files in them that I want to import to Lightroom (I'm on a Mac OS X).  I had previously gone through and put color labels on all of the files but when I import them into Lightroom the color label does not translate.  Is there anyway to include the color label and have it translate to Lightroom's color labeling?

UNfortunnately, Lr does can't handle the colour labels applied via Finder (Mac OS X) or Explorer (Windows).

  • Can not color label more than one file at a time

    Hi,
I've had this problem since 10.6.6-ish, i can not color label more than one file at a time in the Finder.
Wether i select two, twenty or twohundred only one file gets color labeled.
It doesn't seem to matter if i assign a color label through the File menu or right click > label.
Figured a re-install might fix this but it hasn't (even a clean install without restoring any kind of backup).
Does anyone else have this issue and/or a fix for it?
    Thanks,
    Jay

  • 3D Text color properties not updating on stage

I'm using a 3D Text object, and changing the color dyamically
    via:
    member("3D Text").diffuseColor = rgb(redVal, grnVal, bluVal)
(More complicated than that, but this is the simplified
    version. I'm also
playing around with directionalColor, ambientColor, and
    specularColor.)
At any rate, watching the color values in the Object
    Inspector shows the
colors are indeed doing what I ask them to, but on the stage
    it doesn't
reflect the changes. I've tried with or without Direct to
    Stage, tried
using an UpdageStage() command every frame, tried setting the
    sprite's loc
value to itself (to force a redraw), but nothing seems to
    work. I can get
the colors to update by manually checking and unchecking the
    DTS box in the
Property Inspector while the movie is running, so I know it's
    doing the
color changes, just not displaying it unless forced to
    redraw. How can I
force this redraw via script? I know I've done it before, but
    it was a long
time (and several versions) ago, and I've since lost the code
    to do it. Any
    help here?

    > You could try setting 'the stageColor = the stageColor'
    but I don't know
    > whether this will force a redraw of DTS sprites.
Nope, no dice. Doesn't matter if it's DTS or not. I just
    found that
checking and unchecking DTS caused it to refresh. The same is
    true if I
check/uncheck any other property - antialias, wordWrap,
    editable, autoTab,
anything. But obviously, that doesn't help me much if I can't
    find a way to
    refresh it via scripts...

Since a view days finder does not show all Color Label colors. When I select either yellow or green it is selected, but it does not show in the file list with details, I can see it in icon and 3 pane view, but not in the detail list view.
does anybody know why or how? Or what plist files I might need to delete to get this reset?
