Color multinational printer with A3 scanner

Is there any HP multifunctinal color printer, which has scanner for A3 paper?

Hi,
Firstly, it's a printer and yes it can print Word documents, it can print photos on photo papers.
Regards.

  • Color management, printing with InDesign CS3

RGB output devices (this includes essentially all inkjet printers from every manufacturer, when driven by the manufacturer print driver). Inkjet printers driven by a PostScript RIP are considered CMYK output devices, and thus this post does not apply to them.
When printing to RGB output devices from InDesign using the same ICC profiles and settings as in Photoshop, you still get crummy results, in terms of color, that differ from both IDCS2 and other Adobe applications including Photoshop CS3.
InDesign CS2 previously did all rasterizing and color space conversion in InDesign prior to submitting the print job to the OS. In CS3 this was changed to submit PostScript + colorspace information, which is then supposed to be normalized by the OS. Except that it doesn't work. Mac OS X drops the color space information.
The work around is to check "Print as Bitmap" in the advanced section of the IDCS3 print dialog. This causes IDCS3 to do the conversion and generate a bitmap prior to submitting to the OS, rather than depending on the OS to do color conversion or rasterizing, which is the default behavior with IDCS2. Thus you can use the same ICC profiles and print driver settings as with all other Adobe applications, if you choose this option.

    Chris,
First, I am surprised that there has been no response to your post since there were more than a few complaints about the problem in this forum when IDCS3 first came out. So thank you for the solution to this vexing problem.
But I find some of the language in your post a bit problematic:
    >InDesign CS2 previously did all rasterizing and color space conversion in InDesign prior to submitting the print job to the OS.
    and
    >... rather than depending on the OS to do color conversion or rasterizing, which is the default behavior with IDCS2.
The second quote seems incorrect on two counts:
    1. It contradicts the first quoted statement.
    2. In my mac IDCS2 (version 4.0.5 build 688) in the options area of the color management pane of the print dialog, the only available choice for the Color Handling pop up is "Let InDesign Determine Colors".
So the default behavior with IDCS2 seems to be "Let InDesign Determine Colors".
I am not at all taking issue with the main point of your post, which I welcome wholeheartedly. I just find the second quoted phrase from you post confusing. Can you please clarify.
Returning to your main point, are there any downsides of using the Print as Bitmap method?
    Thanks,
    Al

  • Problem adjusting color then printing with CS3 on Epson R300

I am running on a Dell quad core system with 3MB of ram and Vista 32bit and CS3. I am unable to alter the color of the image that prints. For example, if I reduce the saturation all the way down to get a B&W and print I get a print that looks like the original unaltered color print. Even if I save the B&W print and reload it back into CS3 and print I get the original color print.
As best I can tell this problem started when I loaded CS3 on top of CS. I tried printing using CS and CaptureNX and have the same problem.
Anyone have any ideas about what's causing this?

Chris, sorry for some off-topic comments,
    Al, I'm referring to
    James King
    Engineering color at Adobe,
    chapter 15 in
    Ph.Green, L.Macdonald (Editors)
    Colour Engineering
    John Wiley & Sons, 2002
1989/1990 Adobe designed the PostScript Level 2
color concept with CIE-based device independent-colors.
Apple's ColorSync system development was started 1991
    and announced 1993.
The International Color Consortium ICC was started in
    spring 1993.
From these facts it is obvious that Adobe's concept
came very early. There was no need to change it, but some
    features were added later.
Dr King emphasizes the importance of handling black in
CMYK workflows. The ICC had overlooked this - profile
to profile conversions in CMYK destroy the original black
generation. There are other design concepts for ICC profiles
which are IMO rather doubtful: mainly the very complex
number and data format system and the definition of the
location of modules by byte offsets. Compared to these
structures, PostScript is simple and readable (ASCII).
All this lead me to the conclusion that PostScript color
    management is probably not bad.
'Adobe' is not the same as 'PostScript':
I found, that host based Acrobat CMM for the OKI printer
C9600 lead to severe bugs for the black generation.
This is described here in chapter 1:
    http://www.fho-emden.de/~hoffmann/oki-ps-28082005.pdf
Then I changed he strategy systematically: everything
printer based by PostScript. ICC profiles are downloaded
to the harddisk. Color Rendering Dictionaries (output)
and CSAs (input) are calculated in the printer.
If the printer is equipped with genuine Adobe PostScript 3
('level' no more used) then one can expect that it works
correctly. It is OK for Acrobat and PageMaker but not
for InDesign (tested for CS2 and Acrobat7).

  • Issues w/ color when printing with a layered background

    Hello,
I have designed a page in Illustrator that was intended for the web, and now the company wants print outs for a trade show.
I have a multi-layered background,  and when printing off a laser printer, the greys are awful and streaky. I have a feeling it's because I've got dark grey layered over light grey over green (see pic), but what can I do to fix it? The client wants the background this way, but I'm not sure about the mechanics of it, I just know that it looks awful when printed.
    Thanks for any help!
    Jen

It's going to be tough to match the RGB work you've done for the web and laser printers are a challenge.  You might have to rebuild the file or convert the colors to CMYK.  The grays will probably be the easy part ( 20%, 45% ), but the dark greenish blue will have to be remixed ( i.e., 100C, 18.5M, 0Y, 51K ).  I think you could use the existing elements, but you might have to expand them or divide them.  You should avoid layering or overlaying, just work with a flattened .ai file and see if that prints any better.  Raster elements, transparency, and layering effects are better handled via a Postscript 3 RIP + PRINTER.  If your laser is non-postscript and does not have a RIP ( raster image processor ), then the color will be problematic.  If you will be printing the sheets for the tradeshow using the laser, then whatever you mix will be able to be proofed ( by eye, I assume ) internally.  If you go outside and use a Kinkos or something, then color should be proofed using a contract proofer at your local prepress shop before sending it out to be printed.

  • Compatible Stationary Color Laser Printer:

Which printers that are color laser printers
with stationary cartridges (cartridges that do NOT move when printing) lol.
that are compatible with Apple Mac OS 10.4.11
    AND
    A Power PC G3 Processor????????????????
I have a Samsung CLP 300 Color Laser Printer with stationary cartridges ("NO-NOIS")
But the software says "Sorry this software requires a G4 Processor which this system does not have".
    Very Annoying. }=[
It works...but the printing comes out terrible. Everything is smashed together on the left side of the page. Whether it is text or images.
I recently learned that Samsung, even with their "NO-NOIS" stationary cartridges, has very limited Mac compatibility. =[ It is just like google software. (excellent software but not made for macs).
I do not care if the printer is big or not. I just want a compatible color laser printer with not moving cartridges. (I had an HP color laser printer with moving cartridges...which is the component that broke). So which printers are similar to Samsungs, but with better compatibility????????
I have an idea that makes sense: Since I am using Apple computer, then why not connect an Apple Printer???? lol. I can get an "old" Apple Color Laser Printer. However, do the cartridges move? I hope they do not move.

    Very Important Update!!!!!!! =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =]
I got it to work. I had it plugged into the original USB 1.0 ports and all I did was plug it into the USB 2.0 PCI Card that I added to it recently.
And that is all that it needed. Everything prints perfectly... word processor documents, images, and anything else. So this means that whenever I need to get a color laser printer I will just get anything that I can find on ebay. ( I am going to put a color laser printer for each desktop and perhaps a few for the laptops when I repair them. ) I am very happy about this; I was probably going to have to spend $400.00USD for a confirmed compatible color laser printer but now I don't have to worry about that expense. I really like color laser printers because they are easier to print because the fused toner won't run like ink would. I have HP PSCs, which print (in ink) so I don't use them to print, only to scan...so I have one connected to a USB 2.0 port and I am downloading software to see if it will scan. I am probably going to post a question about scanning... but this question about printing has been solved. =]

  • Lost communication with the scanner of my LaserJet Pro CM1415 fnw color MFP with Windows 8.1

I have just upgraded my PC to Windows 8.1 (it came with Windows 8), and now I have "lost communication" with the scanner element of the CM1415...... The printer part is working fine!
I have read various fixes for other printers for 8.1, but does anyone have any experience with this particular model and this particular problem?
PS. The latest HP driver available for the CM1415 states that it is the same as the one delivered in the box.......

    Hi RTB2014,
Welcome to the HP Forums,  I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you are unable to scan after updating the computer to Win 8.1.
I will be happy to help you.
Did you uninstall the printer software and reinstall the downloaded drivers?
If you didn't then I would uninstall and reinstall the downloaded drivers.
I have provided a URL to uninstall the printer software.
Fully uninstall the printer in Win 8.
You can download the newest drivers from this link. Select the operating system and click next.

  • Problem with color profile printing

I have an Epson R280 and an Epson NX415 scanner/printer combo. When I print from Photoshop to the R280 it's very easy, I make sure that in the printer settings, under Color Management, ICM and "Off (no color adjustment)" are selected. According to some tutorials I've seen online, this is the way to ensure that the printer driver will not perform any further color conversion, and that the working profile will be the one selected under "Printer profile" in the Photoshop native dialog. In that list I have a few color profiles available for the R280, which I assume were installed in the system when I installed the driver for the R280. With these profiles, as long as I select the Epson R290 R280 profile, it prints very close to what I see on the screen.
The problem is that replacing all six cartridges on the R280 is over $80, while replacing all four on the NX415 is about half, so I use this one for almost everything. The big problem I have with it is that the drivers didn't install any color profiles, so I cannot find the right profile to print to it. So far I've tried using the R280 profiles and some work better than others, but none of them gives me the right colors that I see on the photo inside Photoshop. One of them called "SPR280 290 Photo Qlty IJP" comes close, but it's not the same, I see that the hue is a little off, especially on yellowish areas.
So my question is, how do I get profiles that are meant for the NX415, for each type of paper? I don't want to keep wasting ink and paper doing print tests.
    Thanks,
    Sebastian

If it didn't install any profiles, it may just expect the data to be in one of the standard document profiles - e.g., sRGB.  Some printer drivers work this way.
If you're unable to find an indication one way or another with a web search of what profile to use, I'd try sRGB and maybe Adobe RGB to see if they appear to match.
There are devices you can buy to allow you to profile your own printer with your paper, etc., though I have not used one.

Hi  - Go ahead and try the steps in this document.  It will walk you through cleaning the contacts on both the cartridge and in the carriage.  What can happen over time is ink residue can accumulate on the contacts preventing the ink cartridges from working properly.  If this doesn't resolve the issue, try setting the cartridge with the nozzles face down on a damp paper towel for about 45 seconds just to resolve any problems with the ink nozzles.
    Hope that helps.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, I've had nothing but problems printing to my HP Color Laserjet 2605dn.
I'm having this problem on both my iMac and my MacBook Pro.
    I get errors like:
"unable to write pirnt data broken pipe"
"unable to send data to printer"
    "printer not connected"
I've been reading responses to others with similiar issues and I've tried
    deleting and re-adding my printer.
    reseting my printing system
    Installing Guenprint.
re-adding my pirnter with a generic PCL driver.
None seem to correct the problem.
This problem happens both when connected directoy with USB and when connected through the network.
I have no problem printing with my work (Wondows) laptop.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, a brody.
Yesterday (before I read your response), I downloaded the latest firmware (20140413.) (What do they say about great minds?)
I thought the issue may have been resolved.
I was finally able to print my bank statement on both the iMac and MacBook.
Today, I'm back to the the same issues.
Very frustrating, even though I've had the printer for five years, I've printed less than 20,000 pages.
In my mind, it's pointing more and more towards a hardware issue.

  • Color Laser Printer - advice for student - compatible with Airport Express!

    Hi there!
In September my studies will start hier in Germany. I'm now looking for an Color Laser Printer as a birthday gift from my parents. For me the compatibility with my Airport Express is very important. The printing costs should be low, i prefer to spend more money on the printer once. I think a price between 400 and 600 Euros should be ok.
Could you give me some advices or tell me your experiences?
Sorry for my english, i know it's not the best;-)

A very helpful guide as to which printers work with the airport express is here:

If it works on the quoted airport extreme, you should be good with the airport express

  • Problem to print with HP Color LaserJet CP3525 (PCL 6) on Server

    Hi,
I have a printer HP Color LaserJet CP3525 in a server, and I installed with the correct drivers for that but the printing output is strange. I'm trying to print in A4 paper, and everything is just printed in 1/4 of the page. The most strange is that the graphics are scaled to the 1/4 of the page while the text is exactly with the same size than the complete page, but all the letter are overlapping each other.
I also tried to print with a generic configuration and print in all the page but I can't print with color, just the black toner is used, so the quality is really bad.
    Please, help me!

This sounds like a driver issue. You mention the printer being PCL6. Can you confirm which driver you are using when the 1/4 page prints occur. My guess is that it would be one of the Gutenprint drivers included with SL and this sort of output can occur when the printer driver is not supported by the printer.
Also, with regards to the Generic, which I assume is the Generic PCL Laser Printer driver included with SL, this by default is set to 300dpi. You can change this print quality setting to 600dpi, which will improve your output, especially the graphics. However this driver only supports black & white printing. So if you want to print in color from the Mac and the printer does not support PostScript, then you should look at installing the pxlmono package.
    http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/pxlmon o
Note that you will need the pxlmono, Foomatic and Ghostscript packages to use this driver suite.
