Color of links

Is it possible to have some links in a web page designed in DW to be one color and other links to be another color? When I set the color in page properties, the color for links applies to all links on the page, but I only want that color to apply to links below the banner.

Hi,
you could have a look at this topic here: Link color change (beyond page properties/links or inline html mark-up); http://forums.adobe.com/thread/674132?tstart=0

  • Only 1 spot color of Linked 2-channel Photoshop image appears in acrobat 9.0

    I just installed CS 4 design premium. I have a 2-color business package that was created in Illustrator CS2 with 2-color Photoshop links (spot color multichannel files saved as Photoshop DCS 2.0/eps).
    When working before in CS 2 my spot color links viewed just fine when I saved the Illustrator files as pdfs (smallest file size default). Now, working in CS 4 with Acrobat Pro 9, type & vector objects show fine in both colors, but the linked files only view with one of the spot colors. If I open output preview in Acrobat 9 the missing black channel shows up.
    All I want to do is send my client a final proof. How can get it to appear accurately on my pdf?

    Output Preview invokes Overprint Preview. Since the file displays as expected with Output Preview open, the Overprint Preview may be necessary to view the file properly.
    In Acrobat 9, the default for Overprint Preview is "Only for PDF/X". Overprint Preview was removed from the Menu list, but you can change it's default in Preferences:Page Display. I'd recommend using "Automatic" which looks at the file and determines if there is anything in the file that requires overprint preview to display. You can temporarily turn off "simulate overprinting" while the Output Preview dialog is open. You can also select "Color Warnings" and turn on Show Overprinting, the content should be painted with a highlight.
    Does this work?
    If you are sending a PDF to your client to view, they will need to look at the file with Overprint Preview on. They can download Reader 9 which will allow them to turn on Overprint Preview. Reader's default is also PDF/X compliant files, but this can be changed in the same Preferences area.

  • Coloring email link differently from nav bar links

    Hi: Please go to tedandada.com. Click on "contact us" on menu on the left. On the "contact us" page you will see two email addresses. They are black. I would like them to be red before they are even rolled over or clicked to open an email program.
    How can I color them? I noticed that I can select and color ordinary text but I cannot select and color the email addresses because they are links.
    I do not want to change the way the links work in the nav bar. I want them to stay as they are.
    Thanks.

    May I suggest something? I will do HTML tutorials at this site:
    http://www.w3schools.com/default.asp
    So -- Murray and Kath -- I am not stubborn. (Okay, I am stubborn --- but I am not hopelessly stubborn). Also I like to learn new things.
    BUT - I would still like you to walk me through this one thing I want to do one step at a time - using the knobs and dials. In the meantime, I will do the HTML tutorials -- but obviously it is going to take me time to get the hang of it. So please humor me in the meantime.
    All I want in response to this post is the FIRST STEP. After I do that, I will write again for the second step.
    MY object is to color the links which automatically open a mail program: "[email protected]" and "[email protected]"- on the "Contact Us" page on the tedandada.com site ---- without affecting the behaviour of the links in the nav bar.
    I just want these links blue. I am not interested in hover or visited effects for these two links. (Perhaps these are not even called links - as they perform an action of opening the users mail program rather than linking to a place on my site or an external site).
    Okay so far -- I hope.
    Step 1: I open the page "contact us" on tedandada.com
    Step 2: Here it seems I have four choices to start with (using the knobs and dials)
    a: I can open "External CSS" in the head section of the "contact us page."
    b: I can open "page properties" on the "contact us" page
    c: I can click on the "open CSS editor" in the upper right corner of the contact us window.
    d: I can select the links I want to color and open the CSS palette.
    So --- Which of the four choices above (a, b, c or d do I do first?)
    Let's just start here. OK?
    In the meantime, I AM taking both of your advice to learn some HTML - by doing the tutorials --- but until I get a handle on it, please bear with me and help me the bells and whistles way.
    Thanks for your help and patience.

  • Color for links, lines around photo's.. color trouble.

    I must have changed something, somehow because this never happened in the past couple of weeks I've been playing with iWeb.
    Now I started a new website and dropped in pictures and such. I drop in a couple of photos and when I go to try and change the line color around them.. I click on the line color box in inspector and it opens the color box. But regardless which color I choose, the line stays black. I tried it with rgb, the crayons, and again regardless of what I pick it doesn't change the color from black in inspector and of course doesn't change in in the design window.
    Now the same is true for links. I highlight some text to link and put in the email address click the "format" part of the link thing in inspector and when I click on the color thing to change the color its a dark brown. I don't want it dark brown for my links. But again even though it opens the color box and even though I pick a color, it won't change it in inspector and it won't change it for my link.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks, Susan

  • Illustrator 10 files lose color of linked ps files when opened in ai CS4

    I'm sending these files to an ftp site - in folders containing 4 or 5 linked colored photoshop files ( some RGB  some CMKY  8 bits/channel )-- recipient says the linked files open in black and white!
    Is anyone haveing  the same problem --- or know a solution -- or some leads ???

    Monika,   thanks for the reply- ---    the linked files are PSD. ---   I installed illustrator CS 5---   and can open the version 10 files fine - with all colors correct.
    Do you think CS4 is unique -- and not able to open version 10 in color ?    I'm going to save my version 10 files in CS5 and resend to client/printer.
    one other element to this is I'm sending the files to an ftp site via Filezilla --   any advice on any of this is appreciated.

  • Font color of links cannot be used effectively

    Under tools/options - content.
    There is a button that allows you to set the color of used links. The color difference between new & used links is not enough for me on my system. Setting a usable color does not work on most web pages [mozilla's included] unless you uncheck the box that "Allow pages to choose their own color..."
    Then when you do this, it screws up the entire display of Google, Mozilla, and others to the point where some buttons, check boxes, etc simply do not work.
    What can be done to show used links with more contrast?

    Try this extension.
    *Visited: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/visited/

  • Visited links in Google are not changing color. In Options Colors visited links are purple. Also, the "Allow pages to choose their own colors..." is checked

    I have been using Firefox for many years. In the past year the Google page has stopped showing visited links in another color. Options are normal. Links should change to purple when visited.
    This has been happening for a long time now. There have been several Firefox updates since then. Is it a problem with my system?

    Does this happen with other visited links as well?
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Font color for links

    Is there a way to change the font color on text links? The text becomes underlined when I select it for a link, but I can't seem to change the colour of the text.
    any ideas?

    Do you want to change it temporarily or in the template - the first is fairly easy, but if you republish your page, you have to keep changing the settings. The second option is a bit more involved, but it's permanent. There you actually change the settings in your template.
    However, I'd wait til next week when iWeb 2 arrives. Then you should be able to fix this without much trouble.

  • Zzxc: When I set Custom color for links, The search button becomes white(blank). If I click on the area where it should be it works

    I changed my visited link colors to red-visited,green-not visited.but now have lost the search button in Amazon.The button is not showing up,But does work if I click on the area where it used to be.

    Did you hide background images?

  • Changing color on links that have been opened.

    I did a search. After opening one of the matches, I expected that link to be a different color. But it's not. Is there a way to changed the color of a link that's been opened previously? Thanks. Becky

    It should change to a more purplish color. Did you refresh the original page? That's required before the page updates.

  • Creating color-based links in Flash

    I have an image with seven distinct colors.  I would like for each color to be linked to a separate html page if clicked.  Can flash link to a page based on the color of the area clicked?  If so, how?  If not, any ideas on a workaround?
    Thanks!

    I extracted each color into a separate layer, but converting the layer into a button converts the whole rectangle area. The image is a subway map, so each layer is a box that contains that colored line.  Is there a way to shrink the layer to only contain the line itself?
    Thanks!

  • Remove color from link text

    How do I remove the color from text that is a link to another page?
    Here is my script:
    a:link {
        text-decoration: none;
    a:visited {
        text-decoration: none;
    a:hover {
        text-decoration: underline;
    a:active {
        text-decoration: none;
    But, it still looks like this:

    If  you want to change the colors of the links, you need to change them in your css:
    a:link {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #ffffff /* this makes it white on any link */
    a:visited {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #ffffff /* this is also white for any visited link */
    a:hover {
    text-decoration: underline;
    color: #ffffff /*this link is white, but when you hover over it, the underline shows up */
    a:active {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #fffff /*another white link that is the active link */
    I thnk that is what  you are trying to do as  you stated you wanted the links to change. If you don't do that the links will be the default colors
    Blue for link, purple for the visited, etc.
    Jim
    Added later: This will change all your links on the page using the css. You can do it like fixated247  said above if that's what you want, if you only want it to change in the menu (which I cannot see, it's not there on the above linked page) you need to select the div or class that is using it.
    /*if the link is in the menubar div then make a different selector for each of the link, visited, hover and active, in that order */
    #menubar a:link     {
    text-decoration:none;
    color:#ffffff;
    etc. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

  • Change color for link/website/file link.

    Everytime I create a like to an email or file it seems to be WHITE FONT, but that doesn't work on white background. I have tried so many ways to change the font, but it won't allow it. What do I do to change the color of font to a hyperlink/file etc?
    Thanks

    When the Site is published to your folder/.Mac/iDisk, there is a corresponding CSS style sheet for every page type. For example, the Blog folder has within it, a Blog CSS style sheet. Using a CSS editor (like CSSEdit) you can adjust things like the hyperlink and hover color as well as font etc. The only aspect of the iWeb template I have not been able to adjust is the Navigation bar.
