Color option in IPhoto printing

I'm guessing there is no way to use color profiles for specific paper in Iphoto - right?
So, when I'm using the print driver (Canon pixma 6600)what do I set the Color Option to in order to match screen colors? None or ColorSynch or BJ Printer.
Under None and Color Synch the colors are less saturated than screen. Under BJ Printer they are a bit too much saturated.

Hey
iPhoto does not manage colour per se, rather all colour is managed by Colour Sync (applications/utilities/colorsync utility).
In iPhoto-Preferences-advanced there's a check box for adding a colorsync profile on import. At least in iPhoto 6 there is not sure if iPhoto 5 has it. Either way colour will still be managed through the central color sync engine.
Sorry I can't be more help than that - i use iPhoto for sorting and storage but do all my colour editing in Photohop. iPhoto preserves the camera profiles (or sRGB) so i'm happy!

  • I have lost the photoshop manages color option from my print menu in CS6.

I have lost the photoshop manages color option from my print menu in CS6. It now has colorsync manages color as an option along with printer manages color.  I don't know how to reverse this and I can no longer use my printer with any assurance of accurate color.
What could have caused this & how do I reverse it?

Assuming you have not gone to a newer version of WORD and it is just an update issue, then you should be able to go to the addins in the options of word and enable Acrobat. Sometimes the updates of WORD seem to disable the plugin. Note that the plugin is PDF Maker and shows up in the save as menu as well as an Adobe menu item in WORD. The printer is a separate process and does no require activation.
A repair of Acrobat may also solve the problem.

  • Iphoto printing/editing

When I print digital photos, using Iphoto, the colors are way off. I can't find a way to edit the photos in Iphoto. Any suggestions? ( I have an hp printer and a canon camera).

I have similar issue when I bought my canon IP4200 printer. Tried several settings in the print dialog - color sync and the color option. HP printer may have different naming convention but for me, turning off all color sync option seems to work best for now. It seems that iPhoto manages the color all on its own.

There is no option to force black and white ouput.

I have not idea how you do it with Picasa but with iPhoto you either export the photos to a desktop folder and upload from there or burns that folder to CD - or from the upload window use the media browser in the lower left hand corner of the upload windows - media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

  • IPhoto prints photos in grayscale. Other apps print them in color.

If I print photos from iPhoto to a color printer (HP Photosmart 3300), they print as grayscale. They show as color in the print dialogs and in print preview, but they physically print as grayscale. If I print the same photos using Photoshop or Safari (for example) they correctly print in color. The photos have an RGB profile and the printer seems to have the right colorsync setup (printer setup utility, then printer utility to check). As I said, other apps print in color fine; only iPhoto doesn't.
    Any suggestions please?

  • Contact sheet background color options iPhoto 9.10.1

I just upgraded to OS 10.9.1 and I can't figure out how to choose a black background when printing a contact sheet.  In the older version I could select contact sheet and then from the print option at the bottom I could pick a background color, enabling me to print a contact sheet with a black backgound instead of white. Has that option been discarded in OS 10.9.1?

Has that option been discarded in OS 10.9.1?
Yes.  Possibly Apple considered offering a black background to be too wastefull of ink., or not.

  • The new iPhoto does not include the border option on the print feature

The new iphoto App that I upgraded this morning does not have the option for the borders, different dessings and multiple pictures in the same page on the print option, as my old version of i Photo had, I can not get anyone on apple to help me, they said this is how it is now. It is upsetting not to have a feature that was very good being replace for a very simple one, very dissapointed about this.

First crop the photo to the size you want printed. Select the photo to be printed and type Command + P.  In the next window you'll see these options:
Select the print size (not borderless) and the Fit layout.

  • IPhotos no option to select print quality

iPhotos no option to select print quality,
i keep getting poor prints, after cleaning the printer and calibrating it nothing has changed.
is there an option to select the quality of prints through iphoto?
    thanks, Ben

On the Print dialog, look for options for your printer under Presets. You will see options such as "photo on photo paper - fine" depending on your printer's available features.

  • HP ColorLaserJet CP3505X - Relationship between different Color Options

    Hi everybody,
I know this is not exactly the right forum to ask this question, but I've put up the question in the HP Laserjet forum as well as in the Photography forum here and have not received any answer to it. Maybe somebody out here can answer it out of experience with a HP Color Laserjet printer:
Can anybody explain the relationship/interaction between the different Color Options (e.g. in the PCL6 driver) of the CP3505X to me?
    Options available:
    1) Driver Properties
    Color Management:
    Automatic
    ManualDefault Color Profile
    2) Printing Preferences
    Advanced Tab:
    ICM Method
    Disabled
    Handled by Host System
    Handled by Printer
    Color Tab:
    Color Themes
    Default (sRGB)
    Image Optimization
    Adobe RGB
    None
    Custom Profile
What kind of profiles are involved when printing output from an application in which case? The manual is very unspecific about this
    For example:
Under which circumstances is the profile specified under Manual Color Management in the Driver Properties used? And is it the only correction applied under those circumstances?
What profile is being applied when "ICM Handled by Printer" is chosen in the Printing Preferences?
Under which circumstances are the Color Themes specified under the Color Tab used, and under which circumstances are they ignored?
I am completely confused an would appreciate any explanation.
    Thanks

  • Type 4 printer driver shows color is available when printer is not a color printer

I am working on migrating to a new Windows Server 2012 print server.  I am trying to use the new version 4 printer drivers whenever possible.  I have noticed an interesting thing.  Here is an example.  When I added a new printer, an HP
LaserJet P3005 black and white printer using the HP LaserJet P3004/P3005 PCL6 Class Driver, under "features" it reports Color as "Yes."  Now the printer is not color and I have noticed this on all of the other class 4 drivers for black
and white printers.  Am I missing something or is this supposed to be this way?  The printers do print fine, I just wanted to know why this is showing up like this.

Really a question for HP since it is their software.
BUT:  A class driver can be used for a wide range of devices.  If the core class driver HP added for the P3005 is also used by devices that support color then the driver itself DOES support color even when the device does not.   There
are a couple ways HP could code around this.  I do see that HP's PS version of the P3005 does not have a color option in Printing Defaults.
I have seen this type of issue from other vendors on previous operating systems, it's not just HP nor anything specific to class drivers although a class driver would expose this when the software to constrain the feature has not been added by the vendor.

  • Is it possible to create a PDF with different colors for screen and printing?

I'm working on a document that features light colored text on a dark background. I'll be sending this document as a PDF to someone who will likely want to print it. Is it possible to set up the document such that it will display this way when viewed on screen, but will print as black text on a white background, without requiring any special action on the part of the recipient?
Printing a color separation of just the text color produces exactly the results I'm after, but I can't ask the recipient to do that. I need it to happen automatically any time it's printed.
I've tried setting up a duplicate text layer in black and placing it under the background layer, then setting the background layer and colored text to 'never print'. This works within Acrobat Pro, but not when I print the same document from Preview.
Is there an acrobat equivalent of a CSS print stylesheet?
    Thanks.

Create the document in layers with the background on a seperate layer than the text. Export the PDF with"Create Acrobat Layers" selected (it will need to be at least version 1.5).
Open the PDF in Acrobat, choose the background layer then Options>Properties>Initial State and under "print" choose "Never prints".

  • Best way to prepare photos for iPhoto printed book

    Hello,
I was wondering what would be the best way to prepare photos for iPhoto printed book on a Macbook Pro so to achieve the most realistic results to what's on the screen
ie. which software should I use to change photos from RGB to CMYK, photoshop or iPhoto itself. I'm guessing maybe the autofix feature in iPhoto? (I don't have Aperture)
Secondly, which monitor color setting should I set the screen at? I'm guessing it's either Apple RGB or Colour LCD, maybe even ColorMatch RGB?
Any any other tips that people can give in achieving the most realistic results to what you have on the screen when your printed iPhoto book gets sent back. I don't want the mid tones to disappear or become too bright because the gamma and color settings were different to what they use at the other end.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
The situation has changed a little, our original photos are in RAW format and some of them are slightly over saturated in the higher tones.
I've read on other threads that it is a good idea to run the 'Enhance' tool on all photos before sending the iPhoto Book away.
Since iPhoto's 'Enhance' tools seems to do a lot of helpful things like sharpen, adjust the levels, etc it also seems to notch the contrast up and this would prove destructive for the lighter and darker tones not captured by the camera's dynamic range.
So as I've been advised it's best to use Apple's own tools before sending the iPhoto Book away, so I'm going to download the trial of Aperture.
Does anyone have any more recommendations on which monitor colour profile setting to use etc. I've also read that iPhoto prints best from JPEGS so the RAW will obviously need changed. Will Aperture automatically save to Profile name: Camera RGB Profile after I've done some editing there?
What would be the best way to prepare RAW images in aperture where some of them might need an Image Overlay in Photomatix then imported back to Aperture for printing an Apple/iPhoto style Book?
    Many thanks

  • PDF optimizer... can't see color option

i have some pdf documents that i want to convert to grayscale.
these files contain multiple rotated masked objects and when converted, the maskings are released.
    i tried couple things.
    - Advanced/Convert Colors...
    - Advanced/Preflight/PDF fixups...
didn't have much luck with it.
so i wonder if i can use Advanced/Optimizer...
but i don't see color option.
how can i turn on color option?
or does anyone know how to convert a pdf to grayscale without messing up the maskins?
    thanks in advance.
fyi. I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and in Advanced/PDF optimizer

if you can export your autoCAD drawings as a pdf, open pdf in acrobat pro 8 and try
    Advanced/Print Production/Convert Colors...
    Action - Convert
Profile - Gray Gamma 2.2 or other grayscale profile
    Blending Profile - Leave Unchanged
    Conversion Options - Don't Embed Profile *
    * for some reason, if you embed profile, it won't convert to grayscale. you can check at advanced/print production/output printview by checking off black ink.
    hope this helps.
