Color Picker drawer not accessible

I recently upgraded from OS X 10.9 to 10.10.2. Since then I can't extend my custom palette in the color picker when using some apps. I think the tiny dot at the bottom of the palette is hidden behind the cancel and okey buttons:
The buttons do not appear in some other apps, so the little dot is accessible:
Any inspiration ?

Hi dheerajm35482857,
It seems that turning off CPU in preferences solves the problem, see: LightRoom 6 color picker bug.

  • Color picker plugins not working after upgrade

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard, and I couldn't help but notice that the two color picker plugins I have installed (Hex Color Picker and Painter's Picker) have disappeared from the color picker. I went into /Library/ColorPickers, where I installed them, and they were still there. I even copied them to the equivalent directory in my home folder, and still no luck. Does anybody know what's going on and, more importantly, how I can fix it? Thanks!

I had the same issue with the same colorpickers. But, dig this…
Those color pickers do not appear in TextEdit, but do appear in other apps (Bean, Pages, Omnigraffle, HexColor—a cool app that allows you to launch the Color Chooser alone check it out) Just about any other apps besides TextEdit and Terminal…
There's a pattern here. 64bit apps do not recognize the 32bit colorpickers. If you launch the apps in 32bit mode they will recognize the colorpickers. To do so—click on the app in the finder, hit cmd I (or File/Get Info) and check Open in 32bit mode.
But I just use HexColor (freeware from http://deepit.ru/) for those few, you have to drag/drop the color in is the main draw back.

  • Color picker does not work, " program error when I click, photoshop cc

I am user of photoshiop cc and it worked fine until several days ago but suddenly it shows " program error " when I click color picker, and I can not use changing color. Please help me to resolve this issue.

There was a bug with photoshop CC concerning the color picker and its swatches. Make sure you have the latest version and then if it still exists, reset your tools in the upper left hand corner which would be the very first icon in the top tool bar. That should fix it. If not let us know and maybe someone can think of something else.

  • Eye Dropper Tool (Color Picker Tool) not working correctly - Premiere CC - Windows 8 - Multiple Displays

I'm running Windows 8, Premiere CC 2014 with two monitors. The eye dropper tool (color picker tool) isn't working correctly. It is selecting colors that are not the colors being hovered over. I've reasearched and see solutions to the problem when occurring with Mac, but do not see a solution for Windows. When I disconnect the second monitor, the eye dropper tool works correctly (as described by Mac users). I deleted any profiles for the montors that weren't the same, and still having the issue. I've also tried putting the source monitor on the second monitor, and tried sampling color from there... same result.

    Hello All,
Problem solved...I reset all tools in the Tool Preset window. Seems to be working.
    Hope this helps someone...
    Cheers!

  • Color picker does not pick correct colors

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with pre-installed PS Touch. Has anyone else noticed how the color picker doesn't always pick correct colors? In my case, it picks a slightly darker color than the source color. I wanted to upgrade to version 1.3 to resolve this, but cannot find any upgrade option anywhere. Please help!

This screenshot is of a normal layer at opacity 100%. I first did a uniform color fill, then sampled the color. Every area of color, therefore, ought to be exactly the same, without any slight variation whatsoever.
The two brushstrokes to the left are done with the brush hardness set at 20%, with no pressure related controls, the left-most one set at 20%opacity, and the one to the right of it set to 100% opacity.
The two brushmarks in the middle are done with brush hardness set to 100%, again, no pressure related controls, the leftward one set at 20% opacity, the right at 100 %.
The two to the right are again done with 100% brush hardness, but this time, pressure related opacity control has been enabled. The left is at 20% opacity, the right at 100%.
As you can see, the center of each brushstroke seems to have thecorrect color. So I agree with georg_maximus. It appears that this issue is an opacity related one, rather than a color picker problem.

  • Color Picker Sliders not working ?

I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 and every time I try to pick a color using the Color Picker Sliders, it doesn't save it, have any of you encountered this issue ? Is there a way to fix this ?
    Thanks!

I get the same issue, most of the time it seems to work, but last night I selected a CSS style by double clicking it, I needed to make the background colour lighter so I selected System Color Picker and then chose Color Sliders followed by HSB Sliders.
Adjusted sliders to required colour, clicked OK and... nothing... The colour selected did not change in the selector box.
Selecting default colour, transparent or a colour from the main colour picker works. But using the Color picker Sliders does not work at all.
Anyone know of a fix for this?
I ended up screen capturing the colour, loading into Fireworks and sampling the colour, Have now added digital color meter so I can use this while I await a fix.
I am running Mac OSX Snow Leopard on an iMac, will try later on my MBP

  • Premiere Pro CS5 - Mac Pro - The eye dropper color picker does not work properly

The eye dropper will not pick up on the colors that are hovered over. Instead, the selected color is offset. The best I can figure out is that I'm experiencing a vertical downward offset of about +/-150 pixels and a horizontal offset to the right of about +/-5 pixels.
Does anyone have the same issue and if so have you found a solution?

Yes, that appears to be the problem. I disconnected my secondary monitor (which does have a different vertical resolution) and the eyedropper appears to function properly.
Okay, so now I know the cause of the issue. However, disconnecting and reconnecting monitors is not an acceptable workflow. Apparently this problem affects quite a few Premiere Pro CS5 Mac users with dual monitors since you referred to it as a know issue with all versions of Mac OS. Do you know if there is an update (not an upgrade) for Premiere Pro CS5 to address this?
    Thanks.

  • How do you reset the color picker drawer?

I have colors in the drawer, here
but I would like to clear them. Is there any way to do that?
    Thanks very much.

Maybe this will help. If you monitor the "More Like This" box (top right), other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads.

  • Photshop CS5 paint bucket colors do not match selected color picker colors

I recently installed CS5 on my laptop after first removing it from my previous machine.
All licences were validated so no problems there.
Now when using paint bucket in photoshop, the colors that I select in the color picker are not the colors that result when I use the paint bucket.
If I create a new black canvas then the colors selected in color picker work with paint bucket.
But if I attempt to recolor the background in an existing image that I import into photoshop, I get the mismatch with colors when I use paint bucket. My method for selecting colors is the same in each case, I select 'set foreground color' and set the color using html values entry at the bottom of the panel.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Try changing Image > Mode to RGB – does the Tool work as expected then?
    To quote from the Help:
    Indexed Color mode
Indexed Color mode produces 8-bit image files with up to 256 colors. When converting to indexed color, Photoshop builds a color lookup table (CLUT), which stores and indexes the colors in the image. If a color in the original image does not appear in the table, the program chooses the closest one or uses dithering to simulate the color using available colors.
Although its palette of colors is limited, indexed color can reduce file size yet maintain the visual quality needed for multimedia presentations, web pages, and the like. Limited editing is available in this mode. For extensive editing, you should convert temporarily to RGB mode. Indexed color files can be saved in Photoshop, BMP, DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine), GIF, Photoshop EPS, Large Document Format (PSB), PCX, Photoshop PDF, Photoshop Raw, Photoshop 2.0, PICT, PNG, Targa®, or TIFF formats.

  • My color picker has stopped working

Basically my color picker will not choose a color anymore.  I'm not sure why.  Please give me some ideas on how to make it work again.

    Which version of PSE?
If PSE 11 or higher, go to the editor preferences>general and click this button, then restart the editor:
for older versions, restart the editor while holding ctrl+alt+shift (command+option+shift on a mac). Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

  • Color picker problems

I began having this problem in Leopard, (am now on Lion):  My color picker does not function - at all.  I can retrieve the color inspector, but the dropdown menu of the colors is non-functioning, I cannot select or use the magnifying glass feature.  (Its almost like the whole thing is just frozen, or sits there).
I've noticed "NSColorPicker.plist" in connection with this, however, on searching my computer for this, it does not show - wonder if I may have deleted it?)  I've also run the Color Utility twice, doesn't seem to help.
    Any ideas??

That's the intended behavior (clicking on one of the white squares sets your current color to that color).
To add a color to the array of colors, drag its icon from the top down onto one of the array of squares. (I'm pretty sure it's always been like this).;-)
Bonus tip: when the RGB or similar sliders are showing, hold down the Option key and click to the left or right of the slider button to increase or decrease the color in increments of one.
    Hope this helps....

  • Cs6 color picker current & below possible issue

Could somebody please try the following and let me know if they see the same behaviour?
Create a Group, set it to Blend Mode Normal, with an empty Layer inside the Group selected and the Eyedropper Tool set to Current & Below try to pick a color from a Layer underneath.
I can’t pick up a color from there then.
    Thanks in advance.

I, too, get the same result but I do not agree that the "Background" layer is considered by the Eyedropper Tool as being different to other pixel layers.
It seems to me that the ET in "Current & Below" and "Current & Below no Adjustments" modes, and the Color Picker, do not detect colours from outside the scope of a group whose blend mode is not "Pass Through". Of course, groups can be nested, and the rule appears to be that colour detection in C&B modes is restricted to the innermost non-"Pass Through" group containing the selected layer.

  • How to use color picker or RGB values in the hue-saturation colorize adjustment

I have a monochromatic adornment that I want to match to the color of a logo.  I am attempting to use the colorize option of a hue saturation adjustment layer to match color.  But I cannot quite get the colors to match.  I know the RGB values of the color, but how do these translate into the Hue/Sat/Lightness numbers of the adjustment dialog?  I tried using the correlating H/S/B values fro9m the color picker but that did not work.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks Zeno.  Creating a layer with the color and using the blend mode worked fine.  But as I stated in the original post, using the H/S/B (there is no HSL) values from the color picker does not work when you place them into the H/S/L values in the hue-adjustment layer with (or without) the colorize box checked.  But your first suggestion worked like a charm.  Thank you.

  • Reduced color selection from color picker

I'm using Fireworks CS4. Whenever I invoke the color picker for font color, gradient color, etc., and hover the color picker over areas in my artwork, the color picker only recognizes colors on my swatches panel (I have Swatches Panel selected in the color picker), and not any color tones in between swatches. For example, for a very light gray, the color picker recognizes it as white (#FFFFFF). This only started happening recently, if I remember correctly, the color picker was able to pick up continuous tones of color in the past.
Is there a setting to turn this behavior on and off?
    Thanks,
    Yi

Check the swatches panel menu to make sure you do not have snap to websafe turned on.
