Color picker not working Mac Osx 10.9.3

In my Fireworks CS5 I can't use the color picker to find the colors code from images.
Pointing on every pixel I obtain only grayscale colors.
It's quite impossibile to work this way.
Any help?

It is most likely because Notification Center alters the menu bar and the dock itself. My facebook and my twitter button won't work properly either, but when i double-click the buttons it works. but i can't understand why your twitter button works once but won't work again.

  • Color Picker Not Working in Develop Module LR 6

All color pickers in the Book, Slideshow, Print and Web Modules work by clicking in the color picker and dragging to the image then releasing the mouse over the color wanted.  However, I am not able to get this to work in the Develop Module.
How can I get the color picker to work in the Develop Module?

I tried UNchecking Use Graphics Processor, and the color picker worked normally.
In addition, it appears the turning the GPU off increased the speed of paint strokes!

  • Mac v6.1 Bg color picker not working?

I am new to this application and working through the
tutorial, and my version is outdated, yea I know, but maybe there
is something simple I am missing here...
When I select a table cell and click on the Bg icon to change
the background color, it brings up the color pallete, I get the
eyedropper tool, and if I mouseover colors on the screen it shows
the color code in the window at the top of the color pallete, but I
am unable to click anywhere on the screen and have it actually grab
that color....I just get an error chime. I can use the color
pallete OK, and can even type in the color code manually that I am
trying to pick up, but geez, that's a pain. Anyone aware if this is
a known problem or if there is a solution?

I've confirmed the color picker bug in 10.6.6. I filed a bug report.
    Copy of my report:
Summary: The color picker dialog reports incorrect values on the RGB slider, using DigitalColor Meter as a reference. On the RGB sliders, the picker can fix itself if you use the spyglass on the test color patch.
However, the "web safe colors" Color Palette also has problems. The color names do not match the values reported by DigitalColor Meter.
This is reproducible on both my and my wife's mbp 5,5 13"
    Steps to Reproduce:
    a) for the RGB sliders:
    1) Quit TextEdit if open
    2) Open TextEdit
    3) menu, choose: Format->Fonts->Show Colors
    4) Using RGB sliders, pick Red=50, Blue=0, Green=0 (DO NOT TYPE, USE THE SLIDERS)
    5) open DigitalColor Meter
    6) chose RGB as Actual Value, 8-bit on Digital Color Meter.
    7) Hover over test patch on color picker dialog of textedit.
    b) for the "web safe colors" palette
    1) Quit TextEdit if open
    2) Open TextEdit
    3) menu, choose: Format->Fonts->Show Colors
    4) Using the Color Palettes, choose "web safe colors".
    5) open DigitalColor Meter
    6) chose RGB as Hex Value, 8-bit on DigitalColor Meter
    7) Hover over the selection patches on the color picker dialog of textedit.
    Expected Results:
for a) the rgb sliders, DigitalColor Meter will report 71,7,8 (instead of 50,0,0)
for b) looking at color "CCCCCC" DigitalColor Meter reports D4,D4,D4
    Actual Results:
    Regression:
I am using osx 10.6.6 as is my wife, problem appears on both computers. I first noticed this with the color picker invoked by OmniOutliner Pro 3.9.5, but reproduced with the color picker invoked by TextEdit.
I have color calibrated my screen with a huey pro, however switch back to the factory profile did not affect the "Expected Results:" shown above.

  • Eye-dropper Color Picker not working

None of the PPro CS5 effects I've tried that use the Eye-dropper for color-picking (UltraKey, Color Key, Color Corrector, etc.) seem to work properly. When I click on the eyedropper, the cursor changes to the eye-dropper pointer, but when I drag this pointer over any part of the screen, the swatch in the effects controls seems to vary between different shades of gray - not the color that is under the pointer. Likewise, when I click over a color, only the shade of gray is picked.
Clicking on the swatch in the effect controls to bring up the graphic color picker works just fine. Furthermore, in After Effects CS5 and Photoshop CS5, all of the color eye-droppers I have tried work just fine. Seems to be isolated to Premiere Pro CS5. Never had this problem with CS4. Any ideas?

    Hey all,
This thread has been really useful to me as I have the exact same problem.... My problem is I do not have a machine like yours, I'm running on the most basic 13 inch MacBook Pro so 2gb ram, and I think Nvidia GeForce 9400M, will need to check, I purchased it in November 2009.
Is there anything I can do?

  • Startup not working Mac OSX 10.6.4

Hey, im having trouble starting up my mac when i boot it up it gets to the Apple Logo and the whirly loading circle and then after a few minutes it just stops loading and freezes, but i can still heal the processor working.
    About my Mac:
Imac about 2 years old, recently upgraded to 10.6.3 from leopard, and then downloaded the update to .4. My mac was recently fixed at an official apple store due to display issues as when i tried to boot up the screen wouldn't work, the mother board and almost all hardware was replaced at the store and when i got my mac back it was working fine.
When this issue started it was after me force shutting down my computer 3 times after the computer freezing after me opening the game World Of Warcraft, this game was working fine before i updated to .4
    Side Notes:
I am able to boot into my winxp partition but the Nvidia geforce 8800 gs card doesn't seem to be working.
    Things I've Tried:
Booting from disc - not working, gives me the kernal panic error
Safe mode boot - the bar gets around half way and stops, then the same thing happens as when i normally boot into osx
Fsck -fy - seems to do nothing except after 2 tries it says the "Ok"
resetting PRAM - not doing anything either
Not sure what else I should say. Any help appreciated, and ive already booked a appointment to visit the apple store with my mac in a few days.
    Thanks!

  • Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working; Mac OSX Unexpectedly Quit?

Hey everyone... I think I may need to stop by the Apple store to figure this one out, but I just wanted to make sure if there was anything I could do on my own first.
So basically, on my MacBook Pro that I got nearly two years ago (late September of 2006) for the past month and a half has had problems. In the beginning, the mouse and keyboard would freeze up and just not work. Restarting the comp did nothing. Some times were worse than others (once it was frozen for 1.5 hours). Then it stopped, every now and then having a few freezes (sometimes when the keyboard froze but the trackpad was still good), but two days ago I had my comp not hooked up to an adapter. When the battery got low, the comp froze. I went to bed and closed the laptop, and the next day it was still frozen. I unfroze it, but then it happened again (I'm pretty sure the same situation... almost no battery)... and it is still frozen, even after multiple restarts.
Also, during the time when freezes weren't as bad, sometimes the keyboard would get stuck on one key, usually the volume up button (very annoying)... then I was told to restart the comp. When I came back, I was told that Mac OS X had unexpectedly quit.
Sorry that was a lot to read, but any help is really appreciated! Thanks!
Not sure if this is also important, but I did spill some water on the keyboard a very long time ago (late December '06)... it wouldn't take this long for that to cause the problem, would it?

Does booting up in [Safe Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455?viewlocale=en_US] help at all? This boot mode checks the disk on startup and disables non-apple start up items and certain kernel extensions.

I'm guessing either Pages and iWork were not properly installed and/or Snow Leopard is not properly installed. What version of Pages is installed? Are you sure you have iWork '09? You should have the iWork DVD, so the first thing to try is re-installing Pages. Should that not work then try reinstalling Snow Leopard.
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • Illustrator CC Color Picker not working

    Hey everyone,
On selecting a new color in the color picker, the object does not update to the new color until you choose OK. Anyone else with this bug?

    jjangik,
The usual Color Picker bug is that there is a two colour bar to the right of the rainbow bar.
The following may still help, hopefully.
It seems that  the issue is caused by a corrupt folder called en_US or similar (depending on language) within the Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings folder, see post #7 by Jules in this thread,
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1595766
so the solution should be to move or rename that folder (or the whole Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings folder).
You can find the folder in Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed.

  • Color Picker not working????

When I go in to the color window to select a new color I can no longer choose anything, whether web only or not. Hexidecimal values work, and I can use the scroll wheel on the mouse to ever so slightly change hues (this takes forever), but that's it. I've tried going through preferences and re-installing and can't figure it out. Meanwhile my other CS2 programs have no issus with their color pickers (only Photoshop).

Are you using the Photoshop SDK, a programmer tool? If so, please
focus the question so the people here know how you are using it. If
you aren't using the Photoshop SDK, I recommend asking in the general
    Photoshop (Windows or Mac) forum.

  • Indesign CS4 Help Menu not working Mac OSX 10.6.7

    Hello.
The InDesign Help menu is a great thing. Use it every day.
I use it most to find commands that I cant remember the keystrokes to. I activate the menu and start typing "find font" or whatever.
The menu finds alternatives. So far so good. But when I want to choose one alternative, all that happens is the system error sound plays.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
    Cheers.
Mac Pro. OSX 10.6.7. InDesign CS4.

I have two self-signed certificates that are marked as "not trusted", both created at the same date, but I did not remember doing that !
    They are named:
    com.apple.kerberos.kdc
    System Identity
    com.apple.systemdefault
from keychain System, expired am Feb 11, 2011Shall I trust then ? Is that the reason for my lock problem ?
+*I just notice that after locking the Keychain app, my problem is solved !!*+

  • Eye dropper/ color picker not working right

Everything so far seems to be working right except the eye dropper tool, or even selecting a color from the pallette it. Instead of setting the foreground color it's setting the background color which is really annoying, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling so far to no effect. Anyone else having this issue? Or have any idea what may be causing it?

Hop into your Color Panel (Window > Color), and you'll see the two color boxes. Foreground/Background. Make sure the Foreground box is outlined. Clicking on it should activate it, and hopefully solve your problem.
