Color Printer CP 2025-default settings

I have just purchased this printer and I like it very much. When I select Properties fr a print job and then select Printing Shorcuts, there are two options "Factory Default" and Eco-Print (two sided). I want the default to be Eco-Print or perhaps some user defined setup. The problem is I have to keep going into Properties because it keeps reverting back to Factory Defaults.
Is there a way I can either change Factory Defaults or Select the EcoPrint as my default?
Thanks

Go to Start->Printers and right click on your CP2025 printer icon. You should be able to select "Printing Preferences".
Select "Eco-Print" and click on "Apply".
This should make "Eco-Print" the default setting without going into Properties.

How do I reset my HP Officejet all-in-one printer to factory default settings ?

If you find the file com.apple.windowserver.plist and throw it in the trash and restart, that will get things back to factory default. On the other hand, if you have never previously made a calibration of any kind, then the settings probably still are at factory default.

  • 2025dn default settings

    HI,
Had a problem recently with the above printer.  The printer is set up on a print server with default settings set up in advanced> printing defaults.
When printing from Office 2003 it uses the correct settings as set up in the defaults on the server (print 1st page to tray2, all subsequent pages to tray 3).  However when printing from Office 2010 it seems to use the print settings from the page set-up in Word/excel rather than the printer defaults from the printer.  This can be viewed from file>page set up>paper and the paper source is set to First page: default tray, Other pages: default tray.
This has been giving me a real headache today and I'd appreciate any advice.
    Thanks in advance.

The settings for your Printer are not in Safari. You need to go to your Printer
    Preferences to change the settings.

  • Excel 2010 ignores print server's default color settings.

Excel 2010 ignores print server's default color settings.
    Our Setup:
Printers are hosted on Server 2008 R2 Print Server.
Two local printers are created on the print server for each Xerox MFP that we have.   Example: Xerox MFP (B&W) - Default settings are set to print black and white only.    Xerox MFP
(Color) - Default settings are set to print color.     So for every MFP we have two printers are created.
Both variations of the network printers are deployed to the users with the Black and White version being the default.    If a user needs to print something in color, they select the Color version of the MFP printer.   This
helps us save on color toner costs.
This works great for web applications, Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader, and other applications.   But, it doesn't seem to work in Microsoft Excel 2007 or 2010.   Whatever the default printer is of the two versions that are deployed,
excel seems to hold onto those printer settings.
Example: If your default printer is Xerox MFP (B&W), when you select Xerox MFP (Color), it still retains the Black and White selection in the printer properties.  However, if you select a completely different model printer such
as Fax, and then go to  Xerox MFP (Color), it will pick up the necessary default color settings.
If I install the printers locally on the user's PC/Computer, it works perfectly.   However, it doesn't work when they are utilizing the print server's printers.
    Things that I have tried:
Different drivers for Xerox.  Global, PS, PCL.
Different brands of printers.   Still experience the same issue.
    Different port names.
    Different protocols, raw versus LPR.
Different versions of excel, 2007 and 2010.
Looked through group policy to see if I could force it.
Checked the excel sheet settings, black and white only was not selected.
Tried most of the printer properties settings.
Created a Server 2012 print server and experienced the same result.
    Xerox's custom configuration file editor.
*Something to note, if I have the black and white version utilize PostScript Drivers and the color version utilize PCL driver, it correctly loads the color settings.   However, if you utilize Postscript for both versions, it doesn't.
I have to vary the print drivers.  Ideally, I don't want to have to do this because I want consistency between prints.

    Hi,
Make sure you have the latest printer drivers - go to the manufacture's website, download and install if necessary.

  • How can I set the default print settings of my document as color.  I want the default print setting to be color when someone opens a document.  similar to duplex print preset is there a color print preset?

How can I set the default print settings of my document as color.  I want the default print setting to be color when someone opens a document.  similar to duplex print preset is there a color print preset?

    Hi,
Try saving your settings as a Preset by clicking the Preset drop down and then select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
Next try changing the settings by selecting the saved preset.
That allow saving the settings for a specific printer, I assume it may also allow selecting these settings for another printer.

  • How can I change printer default settings?

    Officejet J5700 series:
How can I set the default settings so I dont have to change the printer Properties each time I print?

just thought of one thing that may have solved the problem. I had not changed color management from automatic to manual. I did that and it seems to now be working the way I want it. More later if that doesn't hold across reboot, log out, etc.

  • Does anyone know a way to modify "Default Settings" printer preset?

I use enough different presets that I find that the "Last Used" preset for printing if often what not what I really want.
(Background: I save a number of different profiles for different types of print jobs, so that I can select "Color Production" as a preset, for example, and get a number of printer settings configured as once, like Color Settings, Quality, Color, and duplexing.  These are set and selected using the "Presets" picker in the Print dialog box.  One can use the picker to save and view settings as well.)
Am I correct in that there doesn't seem to be a way to change the "Default Settings" preset?  The "Show Presets" pick in Presets doesn't offer the ability to change the presets, and the "Default Settings" preset can't be deleted here, unlike the user set presets; it also isn't possible to save a preset as "Default Settings".
Ideally, changing the default would let me check the box to always use the default (as default), but this way I would have my own defaults.  Just wondering whether I'm missing something obvious - I've tried the modifier keys trick clicking on things, and also the CUPS subsystem at localhost:631.

  • Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers

Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers
We have 4 Windows Server 2008 R2 print servers, all of which has the same printer queues installed on them that are utilized by a 3rd party printing program that does a round-robin load balancing scheme.
All printers are a combination of HP and Xerox all running some variation of the HP UPD and the Xerox UPD.  Some use the PCL 5 and some use the PCL 6 version determined by age of printer and need.
There are typically two printer queues for each physical printer.
    Example:
    LOCATION_ROOM
    LOCATION_ROOM_TRAY2
The regular queue is ok being left with default setting,
The _TRAY2 queues are set to print to "labels" or "pre-printed" paper type or a specific tray.
From time to time, these _TRAY2 queues will revert back to a factory default state and lose the setting to print to a specific paper type or tray.  Sometimes it happens to the _TRAY2 queue on all 4 servers, sometimes just 1 server, etc.  No rhyme
    or reason.
Disabled Bi-directional options on both the HP and Xerox UPDs per another article on the internet that said bi-directional could cause the printer to send back settings to the driver and cause this issue.  Even with this option off, we continue to see
printer _TRAY2 queue settings revert back to factory default and lose their specific paper and tray settings.  We have ruled out the possibility that users or other technicians are the ones making these changes so we suspect it is some interaction between
the servers, printer drivers and printers themselves causing the issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by using one of the print drivers included in Windows for a few of the printers and confirm it's the universal driver that is causing the issue.
HP installs some other processes and services on the machine which communicate with the HP devices.
PML and something else.  You might want to shut those down and see if these processes are the ones modifying the settings.
Run process monitor to truly identify which processes is causing the modifications.

  • How do I change the default settings in a printer's Default Settings Preset?

I am running Mavericks, printing to an HP LaserJet 4050N via IP.  [The following behavior takes place whether the printer's internal settings are set to Duplex Printing is On or is Off.]
I would like to set the default to print duplex, whether I am in an application or 'drag and drop' a file onto the printer icon (which temporarily opens the application, prints the document, and quits).
I do not seem to be able to modify the "Default Settings" Preset to specify duplex printing.  However, I have been able to create a new "Default Settings-1" Preset that specifies duplex printing.  By selecting the "Default Settings-1" Preset, in any application, I get duplex printing without any problem.
    First -- problem:
If I drag-and-drop a file -- e.g., .pdf or .docx -- onto the printer icon, it opens the application and uses the "Default Settings" Preset -- not the "Default Settings-1" Preset -- and prints single-sided.  How do I get drag and drop to use the "Default Settings-1" Preset to get duplex printing?
    Second -- issue:
Bizarrely, if I am in an application, select "Show Presets", select "Default Settings-1" and click on "Layout", it sometimes shows that "Two-Sided" printing is "Off" and sometimes that it is set to "Long-Edge Binding" -- but that seems to have no deleterious effect on duplex printing!
Any suggestions / explanations for my problem / issue?
    Thanks much,
    Avi

Other than using the CUPS interface, http://127.0.0.1:631,which it sounds like you've done, I don't think there is a way to edit the Default Settings. The standard approach is to create a preset, the solution you've found.
For drag and drop printing, you should be able to get to the print dialog and select your preset or turn duplex on by holding the option key down, selecting the file, then doing the drag and drop (either to a printer or to an open printer proxy application).
    I realize this isn't a solution, but I hope it's helpful.

  • Custom options in Adobe PDF printer are not showing up in "Default Settings"

    Hello,
I am using Windows 7 and I am trying to create custom "Default Settings" in my Adobe PDF printer. When I make edits to an existing setting, click "Save As..." and save with a new filename, the new settings are not showing up in the "Default Settings" drop down box in the "Adobe PDF Settings" tab of the "Adobe PDF Document Properties" dialogue box. I can confirm that the new settings are indeed saved on my hard drive and are located in:
    C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
No matter how many different custom settings I save as described above, they are simply now showing up. This works for me on other computers, but just happens not to work on my current one, which recently had an OS reinstall from scratch. Prior to the reinstall, it worked just fine on my computer (an ASUS UX31A laptop). The included pictures demonstrate what I'm talking about.
    Any thoughts?

I finally solved this. The path for the Adobe PDF Settings was set to the follwing in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\PDF Settings):
        C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\
Even though "%USERNAME%" should work, it doesn't. I just replaced it with my actual username and it worked.

  • When I print, resolution changes, can I reset Acrobat to default settings?

I can't see any issue with any of my settings though shortly after reinstalling CS a month ago, Acrobat started printing to a much lower resolution than the PSD (or any application) is set to print to, though Photoshop may be the only one where I am actively looking into resolution issues because...
Every resulting PDF I get is about 1x1", when I'm starting with a letter size doc (or any other size, they all shrink down that dramatically in Acrobat iwth the resulting PDF).
Checking all resolution settings in Advanced Print Settings dialogs all -look- like they're fine. Is there a way to reset the whole shebang to installation default settings to help correct this traumatic happening which always happens just as I need to send a PDF off to someone of course.
Thanks for your help in advance, I really appreciate any tips or if the default thing is easy, thanks!

Hi, thanks. Do you mean Save As - Photoshop PDF, or... how are you referring to doing that?
(Thank you for this!  I had taken to making screenshots for pete's sake, though this change happened suddenly, so ... I have no idea why printing to PDF suddenly didn't work and it seems it should be "repairable".)

  • Setup printer defaults settings in BI reports

    Hi,
Our client has given us some new requirements to be able to setup printer defaults settings in BI reports so that when the user opens up the report the printing format is set for them. All the user has to do is refresh the BI report and then it will print correctly for them, with Headers and Footers.
Now, I know we can not do this with the Query Designer, but we may be able to do it with workbooks, but what I don’t know is if there are other options we can take to do this.  Such as the Report Designer? I have never used the Report Designer so I don’t know if we can build reports using the Report Designer and that the user can access and run this report from somewhere such as the portal.
Can any one please help in this regard.

  • BUG: Printer default settings not being used when selected in Print Dialog Prompt

We have 2 styles of printers on our computers: and Epson Receipt Printer (paper size Roll Papper 80mmx257m) and a Dell printer (paper size 8.5x11)
Our issue is if use us the non-defaulted printer to print something in Internet Explorer, it overrides the default printer setting with its default settings of that non-default printer.  When we try to use the default printer again, the settings will
not switch back to the appropriate settings of that default printer.
Example: (Epson selected as Default Printer in Windows 7 Professional)
I open IE and select print on a page.  I select the Dell printer and hit apply to change the print settings to the default settings of that Dell.  Everything prints fine.  I then try that same page, but this time I select the Default Printer
(Epson) and hit "apply" in the Printer Dialog Prompt and print.  The print out is of the paper size letter and not the default settings for the Epson which is Roll Paper.  I look at the settings in the preferences from IE's Print Dialog
Prompt and it shows it will use the Paper Size: LT 8.5x11 in.
If I close and re-open IE and print that same page to the Epson without selecting the Dell I see that the settings are back to the defaults for the Epson and things print as they should.
Why doesn't IE use the default settings after selecting any printer and hitting apply in the print dialog prompt past the first change of printer selection?
