Color printing problems: Single documents vs batch printing

I'm using a Canon C5250 to print 550 PDFs (15 at a time in batchs). The colors  on the singly printed PDFs differ greatly from the colors on the batch printed documents.
I have created settings on my computer to manage the color, but the settings don't seem to apply to batch printed documents.
Thanks!

I am using Acrobat XI Standard. I realize now I'm probably on the wrong forum.
Once I open a folder with multiple (4-125) PDFs my selections are Organize, Burn, New folder
Once I select an individual PDF or multiple (up to 15) PDFs, my options are Organize, Open with Adobe Acrobat XI, Print, Burn and New Folder.
My problem is that the color I get when I select a group of 15 PDFs and select Print from the options that appear as described the color from document to document is inconsistent.
I can open each PDF, and even a group of PDFs, and print them singlely and I get the correct color--time after time. Repeating this process 550 times for the set of reports that I print is not the desired process.

    Hi
I have a problem with color prints from photoshop elements 12. The pictures are too light and with strange colors. I have a Canon pixma mg615I0 printer and use mac os X yosemite. The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

    Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
    Calibrate the monitor

  • How to 'Print' Dashboard pages as a single document

    Hi,
I have few pages in the dashboard, i want to take the print (Or convert to pdf) of all the pages in a single document, that meas when i click on the 'Print' all the pages exist in the dash borad should be printed in single document.
    Thanks,
    BV

    Greetings,
What you could do is for printing purpose create another report say "<your report name> print version" and instead of using pages use sections in it this way you will get all the data in one page divided by sections just the way you want it to be.

  • Pavilion dv7-4060us Color Printing Problems...

I just bought a new Pavilion dv7-4060us Notebook and am having problems printing in color.  I have a Xerox Phaser 8550DP PS Printer that I'm trying to connect to through a wireless network connection.  I can find the printer on the network and install the "Xerox Phaser 8550DP PS" driver online just fine.  But, after all that, when I try to print, it will only print in Black and White.  For some reason it just will not print in color.  I've looked through all my "printer properties" and it doesn't even show color options!  It's like my computer just doesn't even recognize that the printer can print colors.  Like maybe that printer's driver is for some reason not recognizing it as that actual printer?!
I tried deleting the printer and the driver off my computer and installing it using the printer's original CD, but it says it's not compatible with Windows 7 OS.  But installing the driver via online and using the CD should basically be the same thing shouldn't it?  So that can't be the problem.  The "HP printer help website" doesn't really help at all because it's a Xerox printer and not an HP.  After reading through some forum posts I figured maybe it was a firewall problem, but wouldn't the firewall stop me from printing all together...not just prevent me from printing color?
Has anyone seen this happen before or heard of anything like this happening?  Right when I got the computer I kind of went through and deleted a few things I thought were Crapware, so the only thing I can think of right now is that maybe I accidentally deleted some kind of software program that lets me print color?!  Which doesn't really make any sense, so I don't think that's it.
Also, I know it's not a Windows 7 OS problem or my wireless connection because my brother's computer uses Windows 7 and connects through wireless as well, but his can print color just fine.  He set his computer up like a year ago so he can't remember how he set it all up or what he did, so he's kind of useless.
As of right now the only thing I can think of to do is try posting on this HP help forum and post on the Xerox Printer help forum and see if anyone has any advice for me.  If you have any ideas I'm up for trying anything because I pretty much NEED to be able to print from this computer!!  Any information can help out a lot so just let me know.  Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem with my dv7-4171us, my husband has the same printer and it print fine on my Xerox but mine only prints in black and white, its very frustrating.  I called HP and after 2 hours on the phone they couldnt fix it either.
I'm thinking of doing a full "f11" factory restore.  If anyone knows how to fix the color printing problem please let me know.

    Hi,
Try saving your settings as a Preset by clicking the Preset drop down and then select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
Next try changing the settings by selecting the saved preset.
That allow saving the settings for a specific printer, I assume it may also allow selecting these settings for another printer.

  • Java update causes problems with color printing in Mac 10.5

Had a big problem with color printing for the last two weeks. Thought the printer was broken because it would freeze and refuse to be "seen", or would generate error messages. Bought new Samsung 315, and had the SAME problem. Bought new HP CP1518ni, and had the SAME problem. Not resolved after talking to tech support at both places.
Looked for software updates around the time of the onset of printing problems. on May 15 installed "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 update" (1.0) (am running on 10.5.8). Removed the Java preferences files (com.apple.java......plist) and restarted.
Problem solved! Clearly not the printer.

Hmmm. This is about the time my printer stopped printing too. I've now had two printers in my house and had trouble with both of them. What a pain we should not have to delete updates for our stuff to work together.

  • Print Color Management Problem ?

I have a print color management problem I cannot solve. It reminds me of the print color management problem I had over a year ago when the compatibility conflict between LR and MAC Leopard produced horrible prints. I have Snow Leopard now and been out of the country for some months and yesterday when I tried to make some prints the same problem reemerged. So I downloaded current drivers (and ICCsfor Premium Luster) from Epson and LR 2.6 and spent a good part of the day with Martin Evening's book. I followed (I think) his instructions to make the basic print step by step but the prints still were terrible. My problem is with the color management pop up in the print settings dialog -- it says "color matching" not color management and I cannot check either "no color management " if I want LR to control the process (Kelby)  or check "color sync" if I want my Epson R800 take over. I have no idea where the "color management" pop up went. I'm clueless as usual and probably omitting a step because of frustration or brain numbness. Any help would be appreciated. WJS

The settings in Lightroom are simple. and contain in the Print Job panel in the Print module. You either select manage in printer (and then select the profile in the printer drivers) or select the profile here and then turn of all colour management in the printer drivers. The second option will usually produce the best results. What you don't want is to have the profile selected in both LR and the printer drivers, so if the driver doesn't have an option to turn of colour management then you may be forced down the first route. However it would be an unusual decision for a printer manufacturer to make drivers that can't turn off colour management, so you may wish to ask how to do it to your printer manufacturer or check the printers handbook.

the problem is that somtimes when a document is saved directly on the usb drive you get two files called "documentname.pdf" and "._documentname.pdf", now the hidden file is normaly a few kb in size and no problem exept it shows up as the first documents on the printer and this makes the printer spew out random characters,
is there a way to make the printer not show hidden files?

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1215 - Color printing - Page prints yellow background

Good morning --- I don't believe I have posted to this forum before, so I hope someone can help me solve this issue.
    My CP1215 color LaserJet -
    printing pref set to color-
printing a document with colored icons, etc. or color photograph
Results: the "background" or what should be the white area, is yellow - bright yellow.
If I switch printing pref to B/W, I get a black/white document or photo.  Of course, no color.
I have replaced the yellow toner cartridge (HP product) TWICE, the second one just this morning.
    There are NO error messages.
Tried running the cleaning tool; disconnect/reconnect, etc.  No luck.
I gave up trying to solve this issue 2 years ago, and have kept the pref set to black/white with no tech issues.
Now, however, I have the need to print in color, and I would really like to figure out how to correct this problem.
This printer is a monster - ~30 lbs or more, and I would rather not have to haul it to a computer shop or ship it.
If anyone out there has had this problem, please let me know how/if you were able to resolve it.  Many thanks.
    Susan - Threecats

    Hi Threecats
I understand when you print in color you are getting a yellow background.
I have included a document for troubleshooting the all yellow background printing.
Print out a configuration page from Solution eight first. This document  will provide steps for cleaning and calibrating the printer. The Print quality troubleshooting page will identify the print cartridge that is causing the issue.
Let me know the results when you compare it to the one in the document and if the background printed yellow again. Also the Print quality troubleshooting page results.
What kind of paper are you using?

  • Dear Spot Color Printing Gods......... Please Help Me!

Ok so here is my story...
I have been doing graphic design and 3D work for about 7 years. I have NEVER worked in print before, and no NOTHING of color separation or spot color, etc... I am learning all this right now on the fly for my new job, and its not going well.  I was hired and expected to hit the ground running, even though I made it clear I did not have any screen printing experience. (I was mainly hired to help with web design) I have had some mistakes doing the color separation (not 4 color) and its costing the printer money to see if I did it wrong or not.  The printer has no experience with the software (and only speaks English fairly well), nor does my boss know the software, but they both know how its SUPPOSED to look, and they are getting impatient.. Needless to say, I have to turn to the internet for help, so please be gentle with me not knowing much...
SO....Im a PC user working on a Mac & Illustrator Cs3(I know Mac fairly well).  I have learned the basics pretty fast for screen printing.  The printer is using spot colors only.  After I get the Illustrator file (yes its vector), I delete all swatches except the "Pantone Solid Coated" colors used in the art - or I have to add them from the Solid Coated color book.  After that, I would separate the colors by 1) Duplicating the image however many times that there are colors. (So a splat of soup has 3 colors, I duplicate it 3 times with register marks)  2) I remove all the color except the one Im trying to show. (Im showing the green peas, so I remove the red and yellow colors from the other objects) 3) then I make what the printer calls the "Flash" (the white undertone that the paint adheres to on the garment)  I make this by taking the art, and reducing the size to 1pt smaller.  Once all the colors are seperated, I make each color 100% black, convert the image to grayscale and THEN Im done.  Problems I have been running into have been registration marks somehow not lining up and some colors do not end up 100% spot tones.. One other wierd thing is when I convert to grayscale on the Mac, the art work retains its color on the screen.  When I tried to do that at home on my PC, the artwork turns gray????
WHEW!  So what I am asking for is a fast, simple way to color seperate a vector file and then create the flash.  And/or how to create a template that I can reuse, that is ready for me to just drop artwork into for spot color seperation.   I have included an image to show you a project I am working on.  Its an  ice cream spill on a shirt.  I have tried to start a template with reg. marks, and that is what you will see here.  There are 5 colors that I have to specify.  The printer actually told me that I do not need to split up the art work the way I have been, nor do I need to change it to black, and all that I have to do is specify all the colors,(spot colors/100% only) and then the printer does the seperation on the clear film. (it only prints in black)  I was also curious why my PC would change the artwork gray and the Mac does not when converting to grayscale.  I thank you VERY MUCH for even reading this maddness that is my life right now, and hope you can give me some helpful wisdom to assist and lead me on my journey.  The job pays well, and I need the money badly!  Thank you very much for any and all help you can give me!

Some misconceptions evidenced in your post.
You don't have to use a Pantone library to create spot colors. Pantone is just one brand of spot color definitions and inks intended for offset lithography; not screen printing. You can define any color you want as a Swatch and then specify it as Spot. A Spot color is simply a color that represents an individual ink that will be physically used in the printing process. Therefore, if you want to please your boss:
    1. Get the color chip brochure for the particular brand(s) of screen ink your operation uses.
    2. Open Illustrator. New CMYK document. Delete all the Swatches that can be deleted.
    3. In the Swatches palette, for each color of your screen inks, create a new Swatch. Use the CMYK sliders to make its color match the ink as best you can. Name the swatch according to the name of the actual screen ink (ex: Nazdar_BrilliantBlue). In fact, the ink manufacturer(s) you use may already provide a ready-made Illustrator Swatch Library for their various series of inks. Check their websites to see.
    4. After creating the swatches, save the Library, and/or save the file as a tempate file. Now you'll always have your Spot colors available for new projects.
Now just draw your design and apply the spot colors to the paths as fills and/or strokes. When you print the file as separations, you'll get a separate print for each spot color used. One of the simplest ways to "proof" (test) this is to "print" as separations to the Adobe PDF virtual printer. That will result in a PDF file that has one grayscale page for each ink in your design. That way, you can check what overprints and what knocks out on screen without wasting time or materials. Once confident everything is right, you can then use the PDF to print the actual film positives.
One of your swatches should be a spot white for your underprint. ( "Flash" is not actually an ink color. It's a production step in which a dryer semi-dries an imprinted ink before overprinting it with another. You usually flash a white underprint, but you just as often flash any color with significant density that needs to be overprinted with a following color.) Understand, you don't have to make this swatch actually appear white. For example, I often make it a pale magenta just so I can see it on screen when working with it.
Just because the white underprint is going to be printed underneath the other colors, doesn't mean it has to be layered under your other colors in your Illustrator document. Remember, each ink is going to be printed to its own plate anyway. So it's simpler to just put your white underprint objects on a Layer above the rest of the artwork, and set it to overprint, so that it doesn't knock out the rest of the artwork on layers below it in the stacking order.
Assuming the white underprint has to underprint all the other colors, creating the white underprint should be the near-last step. It's simply a matter of duplicating the colored artwork objects, moving them to the Underprint layer, filling/stroking them with the spot white color and (for efficiency) merging them into as few paths as possible. The Merge or Union Pathfinder commands are typically used for that.
