Color Profiles even when Profile set as Default keep switching - G570

I recently had to calibrate the G570 monitor. The default profile for Lenovo is too blue and for office work this may not be a problem. However, it's an issue when drawing and illustrating.
For example, the image imbedded in this thread http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=232287
Shows someone having issues with color management because the Samsung profile is too yellow, and yet their display shows whites (ie in the layers palette, OS etc...)
If you look through the default Lenovo or Thinkpad calibration, your monitor is too blue to tell the difference between the hues. I calibrated mine with a Spyder Express.
Now on to the problem. Even though I have it on as default to be loaded in Color Management in Windows 7, it appears to keep flickering off and on between the default profile that comes with Lenovo laptops and the Calibrated profile with Spyder express.
Even in the Advanced settings in Color Management and setting the default as the Spyder icm profile, I still get the flickering when it comes out of sleep/monitor turned off etc.
Is there a way to keep it consistently on?

The link I provided before is the solution.
If you have a custom color profile for color management, you need to disable igfxpers.exe from dominating it.
I disabled it in the Startup Services, and ended the process in the Task Manager. My monitor now stays at the profile I calibrated it for.
This is a problem with Intel's software and not Lenovo.

• Firefox warns always when closing multiple tabs, even when respective setting is cleared

Firefox warns always when closing multiple tabs, even when respective setting is cleared. "browser.tabs.warnOnClose" (and "browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs" too) are in "false" state. The same behaviour after reset. Firefox 32.0.3, OS - Linux Mint 17.

Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

• The volume slowly increases to the 100% even when I set the volume slider to 1%...

When I try to set the volume lower on my PC, it quickly increases to 100% volume, even when I set the volume slider to 1 or 2%. When I set it to 0%, however, it does mute the volume. It's rediculous! I just want quieter music, but I am constantly blasted by maxed out volume...

A stuck multimedia key on your keyboard to increase the volume perhaps? iTunes won't change the volume of its own accord. Perhaps there is an option in your control panel to disable the function.

• I got Iphone 3 gs and updated ios 5.01 when charging my phone it keeps switching itself on and off

I got Iphone 3 gs and updated ios 5.01 when charging my phone it keeps switching itself on and off.

Same problem.  Phone was unusable.  I managed to turn airplane mode on during one of the phone's "on" moments.  It went off once more but then came back on and stayed on long enough to back up and restore via iTunes.  As I don't rely on the phone to retain photos, contacts or mail etc I chose to do a complete restore and treat it as a new phone.  I did this just to make it as clean a restore as possible but you may be able to restore from your backup and get the same fix? All is good still some 24 hours later.  Hope this helps.

• I installed 4Sync on my computer, and it resets my browser constantly. Even when I set my browser back to FireFox Start Page it just switches it back the next time I open a browser. How can I stop this please??

I installed 4Sync when I was trying to find a download for a song and it has hijacked my browser completely. It always tries to set my default home page back to the 4Sync Homepage, but I do not want this. I even change it back and save the settings, but it just comes back and does it again in a few clicks. I feel like it has completely taken over Firefox and that it will always be my start page now, instead of the Firefox Google search page I normally use. I need to stop this because it is frustrating me. There is no new plugins or extensions installed on my browser, I just don't get it. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!!

Same issue for me, no settings or options config changes this
I also tried a roll back to 3.16 and the problem is there too now, so its something in the general mozilla files
dont fancy a full uninstall and delete of anything mozilla, but i wont be using this if it continues

• Updated Firefox but add-ons download page won't see my Firefox browser even with it set as default.

I have updated my Firefox browser to current. When attempting to download an add-on, I get the popup screen requesting for me to download Firefox browser. I have redownloaded it 4 times. Still no luck. Firefox is set as default. Add-ons still give me this message: "To install ... and thousands of other Firefox add-ons, get Firefox, a free and open web browser from Mozilla. To learn more about Firefox and how it can make your internet experience better, click the button below."

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 NET_mmhpset

Check your user-agent: Help > About Mozilla Firefox.
Your original user-agent when you posted shows no browser name/version number:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 NET_mmhpset
My user-agent (pretty vanilla, no toolbar add-ons, etc.):
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 - Build ID: 20100401080539
See the difference? Yours does not show Firefox/3.6.3 or the Build ID. I have seen that NET_mmhpset on other users who have posted here, but I do not know what it is.
If you follow the instructions and it keeps changing back, then you have something installed that keeps changing the user-agent.
Just to be sure:
-You did right-click on the item <u>below</u> the filter area in about:config and choose Reset?
-You did restart Firefox after making the change?
<u>Safe Mode</u>
You may need to use Safe Mode (click on "Safe Mode" and read) to localize the problem. Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes <u>before</u> starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.
See:
Troubleshooting extensions and themes
Troubleshooting plugins
Basic Troubleshooting
If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling <u>one at a time</u> until the problem reappears. <u>You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change</u> via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.

• My friends say my ichat is always on invisible even when i set my status to availible??

When i chat with my friends, they can never start a chat or a video chat with me because they say i am always invisible, even when my computer has a green light and says i'm availible. how do i make myself not inbvisible to my contacts?

HI,
I would check for th possibility that you are logged in twice.
This includes AIM Express or even just logging in to the AIM web site as it has a default 2 week login period if you don't specifically log out.  (remember phone Log ins as well)
If you are using Lion iChat 6 then go the the iChat Menu > General Section and untick the item that shows the Buddy List as one.
Then change the Status Message on each Buddy List in turn.

• Start page is changed when I start firefox even when I set it back to my default in the

Becky,
It seems that  the issue is caused by a corrupt folder called en_US or similar (depending on language) within the Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings folder, see post #7 by Jules in this thread,
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1595766
so the solution should be to move or rename that folder (or the whole Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings folder).
You can find the folder in Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed.
As a temporary roundabout way, you can select the lower rectangle to the right of the rainbow and DoubleClick to apply that to change the top rectangle and the values: the lower colour is the right one.

• How to prevent the change of Home page everytime I start Firefox? Claro search starts everytime I start firefox even when I change the default Home page

This link becomes my homepage whenever I launch firefox. Even if I change the homepage to one of my bookmarks, on restart it is automatically changed to the above link.

if your manual changes don't 'stick' after a restart of the browser, please look out for any suspicious extensions (like 3rd-party-toolbars or things you have not installed intentionally) presently installed under firefox/tools > addons > extensions or the programs section of the windows control panel and remove those entries.
afterwards install the search reset addon, it will revert the most common settings that got modified by adware back to the default ones: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
in case this doesn't solve the issue please try this: go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named user.js (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

Try manually connecting the device to your PC in Disk Mode and then restoring it iTunes.
From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
Putting iPod devices with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode
If necessary, verify that your iPod has a Click Wheel.
Before placing the iPod into Disk Mode, verify that it is charged.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will should say "Do not disconnect".
If you are having difficulty putting your iPod into Disk Mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center. If you are still unable to put your iPod into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

• FIREFOX NO LONGER KEEPS MY PASSWORDS EVEN WHEN I SET IT TO DO SO. HEEEEEEELP!

1)Firefoz used to ask me if I wanted computer to remember passwords for emails etc...now it no longer asks if I enter new site with new passwords
2) firefox also no longer remembers my passwords - I must type in each time to each site.
3) I did try to reset it by going into "options" on tools; i marked remember cookis, still when I close firefox it cancels the lot. I did follow all instructions given on the various help pop-up-pages.
SO WHAT HAS CHANGED?? I did not click on anything new or did anything different to what I normally did.
SO: plese help to reset:
- firefox asking again if i want to remember it new passwords;
- make sure all my regularly used sites remember all paswords.
many thanks,

* Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
* Make sure that you do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
* Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode
* You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed
* You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
* To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
* Uncheck: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"

• Set.contains returns false even when the set contains the element

As per java documentation, set.contains(o) returns true if and only if this set contains an element e such that (o==null ? e==null : o.equals(e)). In my case it doesn't (I have tested with Java 1.50_09 and Java 1.6.0). Look at the small toy example below. The last assert statement fails. But as per the documentation, it should not, since an element sc exists in the set such that sc.equals(sc2).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Nilesh
import java.util.HashSet;
import java.util.Set;
class StringCapsule {
        String s;
        public StringCapsule(String s) {
            this.s = s;
        public boolean equals(StringCapsule s2) {
            return s.equals(s2.s);
public class TestSets {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Set<StringCapsule> set = new HashSet<StringCapsule>();
            String s = "test";
            StringCapsule sc = new StringCapsule(s);
            StringCapsule sc2 = new StringCapsule(s);
            set.add(sc);
            assert (set.contains(sc));
            assert (sc.equals(sc2));
            assert (set.contains(sc2)); // THIS FAILS
            System.out.println("Finished with set size " + set.size());
}Copy above code to TestSets.java, and compile and run to reproduce
javac TestSets.java
java -ea -cp . TestSets

If you have generics available, you should have annotations as well. One way to avoid this kind of problem in the future is to use
@Override
public boolean equals (Object o) when you know you want a method to override it's parent.
