Color quality

Printing  photos on photo paper results in bleeding and wrong colors.  black comes out as green and green is too vivid.   printing on plain paper has less color distortion and is sharper.   Advice?

  • Large pdf(40MB) with 600 pages color quality is poor if i print more than 1 or 2 pages at a time.

I have a 40MB PDF file with over 600 pages of color images. If i print each page one at a time, there is no issue whatsoever with the quality, but if i print say 5 pages, the 4th and 5th page and any subsequent page will look like rubbish. In general, just not the same color quality as before. The Konica Minolta printer doesn't seem to be at fault here because like i mentioned, this problem does not occur if i print individual sheets, just if i print more than 5 or so.
Printing individual sheets in this instance, however, is not a real solution because in all the job will have many thousand pages. What do i do? Any one here experience a similar problem?

You were able to catch me whilst my Konica Minolta tech was here.
This is my take on his diagnosis,
The c353 while capable of quality output is not exactly a robust production level machine.
Without the aid of a RIP, all the processing needs to happen either in memory or it may have a hdd. Does the machine have a hard drive?
In either case, you are running out of memory.
Changing the printers properties on spooling may aid in completing the job.
He mentioned sending the job as raster. Print as Image from Acrobat's Advanced tab would do that, but I think you would cripple your computer doing such. Try it; be prepared to go out to lunch or something while it churns away.

  • Color Quality in Web Browsers

I built a website using iWeb 08 to display some photographs and published it to my personal domain via MobileMe. When I view the website in either Firefox (my primary browser) and Internet Explorer, the color quality of all the pictures is diminished somewhat. The colors are not as bright and vibrant as they are when viewing them in iWeb or Aperture. When I view the website in Safari, the colors are fine. The website is www.brianjhebert.com if anyone wants to do a comparison.
Is there some sort of setting that I missed for the colors to display correctly in Firefox and IE?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Hi Brian, love your website. I am also using iWeb (ver 1.1.2) to make a photo website but I have not come across the thumbnail display and enlarge pic setting like yours. Is it from one of the templates ? Your colors on my Mac mini/Smasung monitor are vibrant alright. No color problem there.

  • Pagemaker changes color quality *of the system*

    Dear list,
I'm running pagemaker 7.0 on windows xp. Whenever I open pagemaker, it sets the color quality of the system to *low*.
The graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS. Does anyone have experience with a problem like that? Is there a setting on pagemaker that has to be changed?
    Thanks in advance

  • Problems with color quality when saving photos.

I never used to have any problems, but just recently I have noticed that, after cropping, editing, resizing my photos, and saving....they look fine on my screen while open in photoshop, but yet when attaching them and emailing or posting them, the color quality seems to change. The photo ends up looking quite different than my original photo (the edited copy). I can't figure out for the life of me what is causing this and do not remember ever having this problem before. The only thing that has changed is a new monitor. I don't think that would have any bearing, because like i said, everything looks great until the photos are sent. (when looking in my sent folder, i can see the "altered" state of the image. it's not just a problem with someone elses computer settings, etc)
A newbie here with low tech skills, lol. Any help is appreciated, I would just like my pictures to be seen by others in the color state and quality as they appear to me, and it is frustrating.
I hope my explanation of my problem makes sense and look forward to any advice. (I'm hoping there is a quick solution like a setting I need to click on or off!??)
    (using Elements 2.0)

    Hi Amy:
Sorry that the Color Setting idea didn't do the trick. Since the occurrence is separate, that is, seeing one color view using Elements and a different color view using email view. I still suspect this area.
Calibrating a monitor to me (as the saying goes), is easier said than done. You may want to do a web search using Calibrate Monitor, or similar search words. This will find some interesting websites on calibrating monitors you can read and try out. If you do change some settings, write down what your original settings are before hand, so if you make it worse, you can go back where you started.
There are two areas to calibrate the monitor.
    1. Using the monitor controls on the monitor itself.
    or/and
    2. Using the graphics card (software) control. Which is normally found (Win XP) DISPLAY PROPERTIES>SETTINGS>ADVANCED> then the TAB with your graphics card name.
    3. Actually there is a third one, which uses a very expensive device that connects to the monitor. At the moment this method escapes me. Mainly used by professionals and serious photo editing people.
    Good Luck!

  • Color quality loss when printing...

My office recently bought a large Roland printer that is capable of a feature called "CutContour", where in Illustrator if you name a color swatch "CutContour" exactly and draw a line on your image with that swatch as the outline color, the Roland will cut where the line was drawn. It's pretty neat. The only problem is that when I open my pdf in Illustrator, by the time it prints, the color quality is dramatically decreased. (like instead of a bright blue, it prints a dull blue-violet color). I have already gone into Bridge and "synchronized" my color settings between my Adobe applications and have played a little bit with the color settings in Illustrator itself. I also know it's not the printer, because it prints the PDFs just fine only when I don't edit it in Illustrator in order to add the CutContour line. Has anyone ran into the same issue? I would really appreciate your help!

    marrs.leigh,
You may be changing from RGB to CMYK Color Mode (File>Document Color Mode).

  • Windows XP Pro Desktop - Screen Resolution and Color Quality - After Palm 6.2 Installation for Palm TX

Recently upgraded my Palm software to 6.2. for my TX.  Now when I sync to Outlook, my windows desktop reverts to lower quality screen resolution (640 x 480 pixels) and lower color quality (8 bit).
I then make the necessary display changes for my windows desktop back to higher quality screen resolution (1280 x 800 pixels) and highest color quality (32 bit).  Everything is fine until I sync again or shut down the computer and restart, causing the windows desktop to revert back to the lower quality screen.
Any thoughts on possible solutions to this annoying problem.
    Thank you
    Post relates to: Palm TX

    Hello!
First thing to do is to update the display driver for your computer.  Also make sure to use 96 DPI for the DPI setting, using another setting can cause this issue too.

  • Diminished color quality and jumpy image Adobe CS3 Premiere to Encore DVD

While assembling and editing my individual scenes in Adobe Premiere Pro, and burning to DVD through Adobe Encore. I've experienced the following obstacles:
    1.) diminished color quality
2.) jumpy image (it seems to skip just slightly, hard for some people to notice..but I do)
3.) DVD only plays in 1 of 2 DVD players (both are manufactured by Sony)
My encoding is set to NTSC High Quality, but I see no difference when the default NTSC  Medium Quality is selected. I still have the same results (1-3). The Video Codec is listed as MainConcept MPEG Video. I am not provided with an option to select another, I suspect this could be an issue. Please advise.
My biggest concerns are 1 & 2. Please advise on how to address. I am using CS3.
    Thanks!

What happens if you export from PPro as DV AVI type 2 with 16bit 48khz sound, and then give that AVI to Encore to encode using the Automatic setting to get a best match of file size and fit?
As far as playback... what brand of media and what burn speed? Use Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim for best quality media
Have you tried having Encore create an ISO on hard drive, then using something like the free http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to do the actual writing... with the slowest possible burn speed?

  • 32 GB ipod Touch 4G LCD screen color quality

I have recently bough an 32 gb Ipod Touch 4G. However, the LCD screen color quality is significantly lower compared to my old 8 GB ipod Touch 4G. The black is more gray and the white is more blue, and the overall colors are more washed out compare to the 8 GB. On the other hand the viewing angles are a bit better, which i dont care.
I was very disappointed about the product. If i were'nt an ipod 4G user before, i may not be notice the difference.
However, if you compare it side by side, the difference is huge for me. Once i put them together, i decided not to use the new one. It lost the meaning for me.
Is Apple changed the LCD's in new products. A picture is worth to million words I will submit a picture as soon as i can.
Is there a software solution for this or any idea how to fix it ?

I had a similar issue with mine. It seemed like it had a yellowish hue to it. I called Apple and sent it in. They sent it back and said there was nothing wrong with it. I always thought the screens were the same as on the iPhone 4, but they are NOT! I sold mine on eBay and bought a used iPhone 4. What a difference!

  • ITunes causes windows color quality to drop

I have been using iTunes along with my 3G iPod on my computer for some time now. But for some reason now when I open iTunes now the screen goes black and then when the screen comes back on the color quality has been reduced from 32bit to 8bit.
I have got the latest drivers for my graphics card and I also have the latest version of iTunes.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Whereever you have a link to iTunes, right-click and hit Properties. Hit Compatibility, and see if anything is checked. If yes, uncheck.

  • Why does Firefox force 8bit color quality when it starts and distort some elements of my screen?

Have no problem with other programs when I set color quality to 32bit. But when I start Firefox the screen looks like a low res screen. If I go look at the color quality in settings it will be at 8bit and changing it appears to fix things. Until I close Firefox and restart it then I am back to 8bit and poor looking graphics and even the windows start button will be messed up as well as the windows icon on the start button

Right-click on the shortcut that you use to start Firefox and select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab and de-select all of the settings.
If none of the settings are selected, repeat the above process, but this time using Windows Explorer right-click on the firefox.exe file, default location is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

  • RX1650XT - bad color quality with appropriate driver...!

    Hi all,
pls help me. My Graphics card from MSI is not working properly with ATI drivers. That means, colors (especially black one) have poor quality when graphics card is running under ati driver.
After ati driver uninstall - when card is running with default MS driver, is black as black and picture is very good. See comparison here: http://www.igorweb.org/matestudio/others/porovnanie_black_EN.jpg
But working without vga driver is impossible.
    Where is the problem?
    Many thanx.

    read Moan Guide
use latest drivers provided by Ati.
    also check Ati CCC settings.
    what OS you are running?
    OS: Vista Ultimate 32bit
I've used 3 latest drivers from ATI - the same result.
Ati CCC settings are default (factory settings)
I didn't remember this problem with XPs. Just Vista.

  • HP tm2 Color Quality

On low quality images and video I can clearly see the different shades of color separated in a color gradient. It is more noticable with the ATI than Intel graphics. I've tried everything driver related.

Here is a sample picture and a Youtube video.

  • Color quality difference by printing from the Organizer vs the Editor

When a print the a photo from the Organizer I get a good quality print, one that closely represents the image on the computer screen.  But when I print the identical print from the Editor mode, the colors are darker -- more black pigment in all of the colors and no where near as representitive of the image on the screen.  How can I get the prints from the Editor mode to be more like the ones from the Organizer  -- more like the images on the screen?......Jim

    Organizer :
    Image Space:  sRGB IEC61933-2.1
Print Space :   Same as Source      (What is "Source"?)
This means that the Organizer is sending the photo to the printer without adjusting any of its colors (the default behavior).
    Editor  :
Color Handling : Printer Manages Color
Source Space :  Same as in Organizer
Rendering Intent : Relative Colorimetric    (What ever that is)
This means that the Editor is sending the photo to the printer without adjusting any of its colors.  "Relative colorimetric" means that if there is a color in the photo that the printer isn't capable of printing, the printer will chose the nearest color.  (This is the default behavior.)
So you've verified that the Organizer and Editor are using the default print settings.  They have two different "print engines", but with a printer made in the last several years and photo in the sRGB color space, they would normally produce nearly identical results with these settings.  What's your printer and how old is it?
My next suggestion is to download the most recent printer driver and install it (even if you already have the most recent one).  This can reset the printer settings to their defaults.
If that doesn't work (and it likely won't), then you could consider configuring PSE to manage colors, rather than letting the printer manage colors.  But getting that to work right often can involve a fair amount of effort, reading your printer's documentation to get the printer configured properly (it's different for each manufacturer and often for different models).

  • Color quality after exporting video

I am trying to make a video with all of my photos, and after I export the video, the quality of the images totally gets ruined. The color is not as vibrant and the images are not as clear, I am using the highest mode to export, so I was wondering if there is anything that I can do to improve the quality!

I figured it out. I had to reduce the size of the exported file. It looks a lot better now.
