Color register mark at top of Color Settings window grayed out?

The color register mark at the top of the Color Settings dialog window sometimes is a gray circle with an exclamation point, instead of the colored register mark showing the pie outbreak when color settings are not in sync. What would make it gray and prompt you to look at color settings?

Hi John. Thanks for the post. Actually though, when the color settings are out of sync the top right segment of the register mark "pie" juts out and the "unsyncronized" info comes up. What I'm referring to is that, at random times, there is no color register mark at the top left of the color settings dialog window and in its place is just a gray circle (almost like a talk balloon in the comics) and there is a black exclamation point in it. Usually, on by system everythng displays correctly with the color register mark that is intact when color settings are in sync and disjointed if they are out of sync, but I don't know what causes this other thing.
Thanks.

  • Synchronized register mark at top of Color Settings box grayed out

Using CS3. This has happened at home on XP and at work on Leopard.

What would make it gray (and I believe prompts you to look at color settings)? Sometimes it works correctly but sometimes it does the above.
    Thanks.

This is a question for the appropriate forum for whatever application and platform you are using. This is not a color management issue.

  • I-phone 4s Cannot connect to wi-fi. The settings have grayed out!

I have updated to IOS 6.0.1. more or less one month now and everything worked fine up until today that I tried to connect to my wi-fi from home. At first it could not find any wireless network. I switched on and of the router and then even turned of and on with no result.
I tried to connect from my laptop to find out if something is wrong with my network connection, apparently everything is working well.
I tried again to switch on the wi-fi settings but this time the settings have grayed out!!!
As I can see a lot of people face the same problem so I can imagine that there is a general problem and its not my device...
    Please fix it!!!

  • Preserve Users and Network Settings is grayed out

Hi, I was having some issues with my Mac so I decided to perform an archive and install. I currently have Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I popped in the disk but when I got to choosing install options, "Preserve Users and Network Settings" is grayed out. I want to keep all my data as it was and just reinstall Snow Leopard. Does this option appear later on in the installation? Is there a way to go back? It's currently installing Snow Leopard. Please help

Your Home folder may be in the Previous System Folder. Check to see if it's there and intact. Otherwise it's been moved into the new system. You need to make a backup of your Home folder on an external drive.
    1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Complete the installation. In the Setup Assistant be sure to use a different username/shortname for the new admin account than you used before.
    5. Upon completion use Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder to migrate your Home folder from the external backup drive.

  • Why is the Custom button in the Marker settings dialog grayed out in CS6?

I'm wondering why it's grayed out and what its purpose is. Also, is there any way to make the Marker window display Names as well as comments? I feel like the comments field would be used for notes and comments while the name field is used to actually name the marker. It seems weird that the name field wouldn't be displayed in the Marker window and that the only way to identify which is which is by the thumbnail and comments.

  • Config settings to gray out "Reqted Qty" field while creating TO via LT03

    Hi Experts,
Could anyone please me in this. I would like to gray out "Requested Quantity" field when creating TO via LT03 transaction. Can anyone please let me know where the config setting needs to be maintained inorder to gray out the "Requested Quantity" in LT03 transaction.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Nagarjun

    Hi,
no there is not such a functionality.
From a field settings perspective you may work at account group level, =>OBD2 or OVT0
    and/or at transaction type level => OB20
With OB20 you can distinguish between creation and change.
You may also react per authorisation. See F_KNA1_EAN. In that case you may gray out fields individually.

  • Email Accounts settings is grayed out. What can I do?

    Hi,
The Email Accounts Settings has been grayed out. I cannot make any changes to my current email accounts, add new, or delete old email accounts. How can I ungray it?

In my case, no restrictions are enabled.  Accounts still grayed out.  I was forced to change my appleid password and now everything is dorked up.  I have gone everywhere I know to put in the new password.  It works on the phone and on my computers, but not on the iPad.

  • Create new PDF - settings button grayed out?

I have a user who is trying to create a PDF in Adobe Acrobat 10.1.1 and she is reporting that the Settings button is grayed out.  She does not have administrator rights to her PC.  I removed and re-installed Acrobat using my administrator account and that did not fix the issue.  Has anyone seen this issue before and found a fix?
    Thanks!

We figured it out:  where it has the "files of type", the default is "All Supported Formats" you have to specifically choose Excel file and the settings button is not grayed out.

  • Sync Settings are Grayed out

I cannot sync my settings from my desktop to my laptop.
Prefs are grayed out and have no option to log-in to enable them.
When I choose Manage Account, it just has me log-in to creative cloud in my browser and views my files.
    Mac OS X 10.9.2
    InDesign CC v9.2
    Thank You!

The issue appears to be that you're not signed in to your Adobe ID. In the dialog box you posted, it says "Signed In As: Not Signed In"
Go to the Help menu and sign in with your Adobe ID.
Sync Settings only works to sync between two computers which are both signed into the same Adobe ID.

  • How do I move the window when the top of the Organizer window is out of reach on a Mac?

I saw a similar question posted on the forum for a user with a PC.  I'm using dual monitors.  I've already tried going back to one monitor with now luck.  I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.4 - at some point while using the organizer, the top of the window went above the desktop menubar.  So I've lost part of the window and all the icons for using organizer.  I've tried playing with display settings and have done a couple net searches but haven't been able to resolve.  I've rebooted, updated software, shut down and restarted elements, but can't get the window to show up in the center of my screen.  Any other suggestions

Are you sure your put your display back to the highest setting (system prefs>displays)? It's not really possible to do this under normal circumstances.
Go to your username>library>preferences and delete com.adobe.Elements Organizer.[version number].com. You will normally have more than one, with slightly different spellings. In lion that library is hidden. To see it option click the Go menu in the Finder and it will appear below the little house for your user account.

  • Print Settings--Photo Grayed-out

    Hi all,
Just updated to Tiger and this morning tried to print a photo for the wife on my trusty MFC-210C multifunction printer. Heretofore have been able to get lovely photo-quality prints out of it using Panther, but to my surprise, the 'Print Settings' won't let me click on 'Photo' or 'Glossy,' only 'Fine.' The pics come out grainy and horrible.
Have updated the driver and re-added the printer to no avail.
I see some other folks have had this problem, but have read no answers for it yet. Is this an evil plot to make us buy iLife and purchase all our photos through iPhoto? Or am I just an insufficient nerd?
    All help much appreciated.
    -Ben
P.S. iBook G4, 60 gigs, plenty o' RAM, airport express, Tiger.

Do you know what version of Pages you have? You can find out by selecting "About Pages" from the Pages menu while it is running. In the first release of Pages, v 1.0, the Print icon didn't work. This was fixed with the v 1.0.1 update not long after the initial release. The current version is 1.0.2. If you have not moved the iWork folder containing the Pages application from your Applications folder, Software Update should let you know there is an update available.
If you are running version 1.0.1/2, the non-active icon might be due to not having a printer set up. I don't know for sure, but it is a possibility.

  • UPS (Uninterruptible power supply) settings are grayed out

I recently purchased an APC Back-UPS ES 450. The APC software is not compatible with Leopard, but that shouldn't matter because Leopard has built-in UPS support. However, looking at the UPS settings after plugging the usb cable into my laptop, it seems there is some sort of compatibility issue.
    I've posted a screenshot here: http://www.hover.ca/ups.jpg
I'm aware of a previous posting here with the same issue (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6917927), but it was never resolved.
Any help would be wildly appreciated!
    - gabe

OK - so I was on the phone with APC tech support for over an hour trying to solve the problem - they were really helpful, even had a software guy looking into it while I waited, but the bad news is that they were totally stumped as well. Some important insights did come out of it, however.
    1) It turns out some other UPS models from different companies are subject to the same issue. So the common denominator is the Mac OS.
    2) I'm running Windows XP on Parallels, so the tech asked me to install the APC Powerchute software there. Installed without a hitch and I was talking to the UPS right away. This didn't make a difference on the Mac side though. So that again points to the Mac OS as the root of the problem.
My 2 cents: APC should never have relied on Apple to take care of the software side. Apple has alot of balls in the air and probably isn't too worried about rare cases like this. But it sure as **** makes a difference to APC, because, while I won't be abandoning my Mac OS anytime soon, I will most definitely be returning this APC unit in exchange for something that explicitly support Mac OS 10.5. And in all likelihood my relationship with APC is over.
Anyway, thanks to everyone here who chimed in on my problem!
    Cheers,
